This was a well-organized, fun, informative and DELICIOUS experience! Our guide Manuel has excellent knowledge and communication skills. He was on time and the meeting spot was very easy to find. We enjoyed a great walk through old Vallarta, stopping for generous servings of authentic Mexican tacos and other food. Throughout, Manuel gave us loads of interesting information and was very considerate of everyone’s needs. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience something different (and in my opinion better) than the typical tourist activities, and also eat some of the best food you’ll taste. In addition, the price was very reasonable and we got more food than we even needed - you WON’T leave hungry!

If you want to see Puerto Vallarta as a local, this is the tour for you ! Our trip started down near the Malacon but quickly moved deeper into the streets away from downtown. We rode on mostly cobblestone roads, mingling with the locals. We were treated to 3 completely different Taco spots, best Tacos I have ever eaten, We then headed up the hill above town, Our tour guide Hugo was the best, he kept us safely moving and stopped the local traffic as required to keep us rolling. He really looked after us, Thanks Hugo! We toured at least 6 different sites, pottery, leather, tequila, church, lighthouse, and of course Elizabeth's Taylor's famous bridge of love.

Great tour, great guides and really good food! Walking is on rough cobblestone streets but fairly level. Visited two sweet stores too. They took group pictures at every stop with name of restaurant in background in case we wanted to go back but we never got the pictures the whole week we were there.

This was a highlight of our first trip to PV. I called Eric because we have some dietary restrictions in our group, and he set us up with a private taco tour. Susie, our guide, was fantastic. She knows the area as a local (she pointed out her grandfather’s house in the neighborhood) and offered many tips for visitors. She went out of her way to provide options for our group members who don’t eat meat. The places she took us were fantastic and we ended up going back to several of them during the rest of our stay. I’m craving the shrimp burrito at Cisneros, fish tacos at Marismas, and quesadillas at El Moreno. Highly recommend the taco tour and call ahead if you have special requests — they were very accommodating. Also a nice touch that they take photos and email them to you after your tour.

We had so much fun and the food was absolutely delicious! But our favorite part was our tour guide Andrea. She was so knowledgeable and fun, it really made the whole experience. She is a food critic by trade, and her experience really shined during our tour! For example, her knowledge about each salsa and their spice level really saved one or two of us from eating the wrong type. She was very engaging with our group and let us take our time to really enjoy each stop. She clearly has a great repore with each shop and easily adjusted the tour if one shop was extra busy so we didn't have to wait. We ended the tour F.A.F 😉

My partner and I so enjoyed our food tour at Versalles this morning/afternoon! A few really standout must-eat tacos amongst an overall excellent bunch!
Andrea was our tour guide and Stephen was along as well taking pictures. They had such a positive rapport with all the guests, and were fun, informative, and engaging throughout the whole tour. Andrea and my partner are both from the same state in Mexico, Sonora, and bonded over that and talked a lot about the food cultures and experiences of the two states. I think he really enjoyed connecting with someone over a shared experience like food from his home state. Food is such an amazing way to connect people!
We also had a great family that accompanied us on the tour and the parents and teenagers were fun to connect with, so being on the tour with cool people was an added bonus.
Vallarta Eats has created a great company here in PV that really adds to the cultural and historical experience of folks that come here on vacation. The restaurant owners clearly have an excellent relationship with the Vallarta Eats staff and the symbiotic relationship that they create with their food partners with these tours is really cool to see in person. Highly recommend!

Fernanda was an amazing tour guide. She was warm and informative and you could tell she really loved not only the city of Puerto Vallarta, but also the history of the food we ate and the places we visited. Come hungry because the tacos are plentiful!

We love this tour so much. We do it every time we visit Vallarta. Fernanda, our guide this year, taught us so much about the culture of Vallarta. We loved new additions to the tour and the food was wonderful. I love that they teach you how to distinguish “safe” street stands to visit. We plan to head back next year and do the tour again. Also, there are some great approaches to booking if you go to their website. Repeat customers often get discounts. A truly great company. No photos--sigh, I forgot my phone.

Alberto and Roman were SPECTACULAR! From the moment we met them I knew we were in for a treat. I don't think I have felt more comfortable in an unfamiliar setting before. They were beyond entertaining and had a plethora of taco knowledge. They not only taught us the rich culture of tacos, but about the city as well. I highly recommend taking this tour on your first day in PV so you can map out all the taco stands to return to later.
You could also tell the local people love them with all the fist bumps they received from taco vendors to souvenir stands.

Amazing!! Do not eat before you go! You’ll think each stop must be the best and it just keeps getting better. Our tour guide (Suzie, a PV native) was very knowledgeable about the food and the city. We went our first full day here to get the lay of the land. We have a pescatarian daughter and a vegetarian daughter and were able to get an adapted tour - just ask! Highly recommended!

I’m late to the party here, but I think 6 people is the minimum for a tour unless you want to book a private tour. They do that. Email Eric. He’s great.

I avoid gluten, corn and diary. To get past the corn, I just eat the taco filling off the tortilla. Would I be able to eat on this tour?

For the most part yes. There is one place where you will have to deconstruct a fried taco.

The tour fee covers tips at each scheduled food stop - basically you just eat and enjoy the experience. We had two unscheduled stops (bars), where we paid for beverages and tipped for service - totally optional. We tipped our excellent guide at the end (400 pesos for the four of us). Everyone appreciates pesos (vs. USD).

The tour wasn’t a great distance but took 4-4.5 hours. My parents, who are 80, did the tour with me. There are places to sit at almost all stops.

I would say no. My husband is a vegetarian and one amongst our party of 15. While they did try and accommodate him, he ended up eating a lot of cheese. He did not enjoy the food but loved the stories and coming along for the food tour.

My boyfriend and I ended waiting till we got to our hotel to book; just so we can plan our tour around activities/dining options at the hotel.
I do recommend booking the tour on the first few days of your trip. That way if you enjoy the taco spots you'll be able to visit them again during your trip. We ended up getting tired of the hotel food and went to a couple taco spots that were on the tour again.
