- Kirsten G00Great Introduction to PV Culture and Food! Our host and guide was Al. He was knowledgeable and passionate about the area, giving us many interesting facts as we walked. Every stop was delicious and provided us different ideas of where we’d like to come back to! 10/10
- Preeti Vineet V00Amazing Food Tour! Our guide, Al, made this food tour an incredible experience! His explanation of the history regarding the various cuisines from different regions of Mexico added relevance and authenticity to the tour. Our favorite tacos were the Al Pastor and of course the Birria tacos. We highly recommend doing this tour with Al while in Puerto Vallarta.
- D8542XEbrookeb00Loved this tour so muchI had the best time on this tour! First time in PV, and my circumstances changed and ended up doing the tour by myself. Chris was our tour guide and he was amazing. He made myself and everyone feel so welcomed and was so knowledgeable about the area and every food and drink stop. I loved walking around and learning everything. I would do this tour again next time I come back to PV. And by the end of the tour we all made friends with each other and had some extra drinks after the tour it was such a fun day.
- Gonzasha00The best taco tour in Puerto VallartaWe had an absolutely fantastic time on this tour. Miel was our tour guide and she was exceptional, really knowledgeable and lots of fun! Our group really bonded with her and she made this tour very special. We thoroughly enjoyed all the stops and tasting the great variety of food and drinks. I would highly recommend Vallarta Food Tours. We are looking forward to going on their other tour routes.
- mox69900highlight of our vacation! My teenage daughters think this was the highlight of our vacation! Silvia was an awesome guide --- she's so friendly and enthusiastic! She took care of everyone in our group. I wish we had done this tour the first day of our vacation.
- I_tried_this100Tacos and Drinks!Sylvia was GREAT! We loved the drinks and the tacos! A great way to explore the city! Definitely recommend booking this food tour for adults visiting puerto Vallarta.
- susangV7532UP00Exceptional tourVallarta Tours was exceptional. Our tour guide Melan made the tour for us. She was knowledgeable, personable, and fun. All the food was absolutely delicious. We had never had goat and we all thought it was wonderful. We went on the tour with the van. I highly recommend it because you get to see several neighborhoods. Our Vallarta Food Tour made our trip to PV special. I highly recommend it.
- Gerardo C00Fun cultural experienceLuis was great, took us to spots we would’ve never traveled on our own. Got to experience some great culture along with food and drink. 10/10 would try it again.
- 911jenag00Incredible! Delicious! Valuable!Erik was a fantastic tour guide on our Taco tour in Bucerias!! I cannot recommend this tour highly enough, at anytime in your visit, but ideally early in your stay so you can return to your favourite spots again and again like we have. We chose the tacos with drinks and were blown away by the value and variety. Great local drinks, cold beers, secret margaritas, cool cocktail bars, a local spirit! Then of course the main event - the DELICIOUS tacos and INCREDIBLE food. There are so many restaurants and vendors in Bucerias. We felt confident and comfortable following the lead of Erik, our guide, who was very informative and took care of everyone’s unique needs in the group of ten. The four of us in my family who joined are all well travelled and are big fans of exceptional restaurants, great street food and love finding the hidden gems off the beaten path - this delivered!! Some of the best tacos and quesadillas we’ve ever had, so many hot sauces, and different toppings. My mouth is watering just thinking back! Take the Bucerias walking Taco tour with Erik if you can! We will be booking our other adventures with him as well :)
- Virginia L00Foodie must try!The tour was a great way to enjoy different Mexican dishes at 8 stops! Edgar, our guide, was knowledgeable, funny, and amazing. Highly recommend for a tasty Mexican food experience!
- 123elgatomontez00Amazing food and drink your!Luis was an excellent guide. He was particularly great at providing a local perspective on the area’s history and his enthusiasm for the food and drinks made the experience really memorable. We tried a wide variety of agave spirits and tacos in many different places. This tour was a good way to experience Puerto Vallarta.

I lost count of the number of tastes we had, but it was at least 8. I appreciated that there were restaurants mixed in with street vendors in order to facilitate restroom breaks. Manuel did an amazing job explaining what we were eating, the history behind each owner, and street taco culture in general. It was educational and tasty. I never knew you could eat marlin before and had it 2 different ways on this tour. Yummy!

If you're a taco lover and you come to Vallarta without taking this tour, you're doing it wrong. Every stop was better than the last. We learned about so many kinds of delicious new tacos -- smoked marlin, where have you been all my life? And because there were so many stops, we also knew where we wanted to go eat in several different neighborhoods for the rest of the trip. Miel was also a truly fantastic tour guide: she explained the history and significance of everything we ate, explained why she would recommend one restaurant over another with similar food, made sure everyone was enjoying the different salsas without overpowering their spice tolerance, and even offered excellent suggestions for other activities after the tour ended. If we'd had more time, we definitely would have taken more tours with Miel and with this company. But this was the perfect way to start our stay in Vallarta!

This was exactly what we were hoping for! We wanted to taste local foods with someone who knows the town and is safe and respected throughout the community. We went to local street taco vendors and our tour guide Candelario Fernandez was incredible with his historical knowledge of the area and the vendors knew him and respected the efforts he put forth to bring people to their establishments. I highly recommend the Vallarta Food Tours as the food was amazing and we felt safe throughout the entire evening with our 9 year old daughter.

We started with a warm welcome, and even though it was clear we knew little to no Spanish, everyone was so welcoming and warm. Each restaurant led by our Tour Guide Silvia had some of the best tacos I’ve had in my lifetime and I enjoyed every bit of it. When I heard that the tour was four hours it was daunting becuase I thought we’d be eating the whole time, but it was a mixture of eating, drinking, and history which made me really excited to try each food. Silvia was an amazing tour guide, sweet, bubbly and made my mood which is usually annoyed because if walking, okay with it. I had a tremendous amount of fun, got to try amazing food I never thought would be that mind-blowingly amazing, and take a sneak peek at the history of Puerta Vallarta, which is antique, lined with culture, and beautiful, inside and out.

This would be our 1st Puerto Vallarta Food Tour (Taco Tour), but definitely not our last. We were promptly met at Mariscos Guerro at the intersection of Madero and Constitucion streets in old town Puerto Vallarta by our Tour Guide Miel, a vibrant and articulate young woman from Mexico City. Miel clearly has a passion for Mexican food, including the origins and ingredients of the wonderful dishes we were about to experience. Miel was very diligent to check each of us for any food allergies prior to partaking in any meals. At each restaurant and taco stand we visited, Miel and the tour group were welcomed by the owners and chefs. As Miel explained all of the details of the tacos we were about to experience, the food was quickly prepared and served to us piping hot and fresh. Miel was genuinely interested in each of our reactions to each dish as we marched our way through through old town Vallarta. We tasted delicious tacos made with various fish, crab, and meats, with vegetarian options as well. We were also able to taste Mexican spirits on the way which was a treat. The last stop on the tour was an ice cream stand unlike any other we have ever seen as the flavors of ice cream were very unusual and included the standard ones. It was delicious. This was a tour we will never forget hosted by a tour guide, Miel, whom we will definitely never forget!! Thank you Miel for giving us so many more dining options while we stay in old town Puerto Vallarta every year!! Paula and Kevin

Come hungry! Great variety of tacos that we didn’t realize existed. Miel was a fantastic guide who gave extra insights into local history. She was very modest and not overly exuberant which we greatly appreciated. She was very pleasant to be with.

FIRST THE POSITIVE
Small group, personal tour. There were 4 persons on the tour.
Each taco stand owner was friendly and had very good tacos
Churro stand was excellent
Good pace, we had plenty of time at each stand.
Taxi ride was comfortable
Tour guide was knowledgeable
CONS; We had reservations for 5:00, however the tour guide showed up at 5:20 and tour began after 5:30
Because no tour guide was at the starting point from 4:50-5:20, we tried using the tour phone numbers noted on confirmation, however the numbers were invalid.
When meeting the tour guide he informed us that all tours start at 5:30 and question our 5:00 tour confirmation. He asked to see our 5:00 confirmation. Which we showed him. Tours with added cost for beer are sold and noted to start at 5:00. The tour guide called a supervisor and had us speak to the supervisor. The supervisor acknowledged that the tour has a booking issue. That’s it no apology or compensation. Standing on a hot street corner for 40 plus minutes was not a pleasant way to start a tour.
Tour was enjoyable but had a rough start without any apology

Bernardo was a great guide through the 8 stops including 6 taco stands, a chocaltier (passion fruit was excellent) and a churro stand. We got to meet the hardworking families and he even took us up to see Casa Kimberly when we inquired about its location. The El Pastor taco was my favorite! Come Hungry.

This taco tour is a must-do in Puerto Vallarta. The food is absolutely incredible and they'll take you to the best-hidden spots in Oldtown and near the Malecon in PV. It gives you an authentic look at spots you normally wouldn't find. We used it as a group dinner for our bachelor party group (with beer included) and it was many people's favorite activity of our trip...and beer was included! Our host Chris was knowledgable and fun, and tried to personalize the tour to our interests. The company was also very accommodating when I mixed up the booking dates and was very easy to work with when we needed to come a day later. Definitely recommend!

This tour has been the highlight of my trip so far, it exceeded all expectations. Silvia was a wonderful guide - very friendly and welcoming, informative, organized, fun. She really made this whole experience special. We stopped at 8 locations, it wasn't nearly as much walking as expected because a van took us between the 2 neighborhoods. Every place we stopped was different than the previous place, the food was unique and distinct. Silvia told us the history and pointed out things I would never have otherwise known. I am a vegetarian/occasional pescatarian, and she made sure I had something to eat at all the stops except 2, and offered to double my portion at other places to make up for it. It was more than enough food, even skipping 2 places (note - this tour is pescatarian-friendly, NOT vegetarian friendly).
This is my first time in PV, and I don't speak spanish. I took this tour to introduce me to some local food places and learn a bit, and it went above and beyond what I had hoped. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I are gluten free and totally enjoyed the experience. Just notify them in advance...they are very accommodating. The only part we had to skip was the churro tasting at the end, but we were too stuffed full of delicious tacos at that point to eat them anyway.

The walk around El Centro is typically flat, but some of the sidewalks can be a bit difficult for people with mobility issues (due to height of the curb and some uneven sidewalks). If you feel that you can navigate around El Centro unassisted, then you should be okay.

What is the name of the business we visited where we tasted a tequila w an orange and Chile powder on the side ? We made this trip on an evening food/taco tour with Yudi it was after I think the visit to the place where Night of the Iguana was filmed. Thank you.

Was it Zapata Bar? The big black and white wall painting of Emiliano Zapata was what I noticed when I first walked in.
I believe I tasted a mezcal (not a tequila) there with the chili powder and I recall it being a slice of something citrus but I don't recall if it was an orange

Are you able to purchase beer or margaritas along the way?
hanshuang1977
Oakland, CA39 contributions
It depends on the places that is being visited (each day of the week is different as each of the stands/restaurants have different days off), but there were only three places that I was at on my tour that even had the drinks available to buy beer. Of all of the places, Zapata Mexican Bar would be the only place that had liquor, but we were there to taste Mescal (did you know that Tequila is a type of Mescal? I learned this on my tour). However, please note that the visits to each place are pretty short and you would need to drink your beer(s) pretty quickly if you want to keep going to the other spots.
