          Money traps
They’ll take you in a van to places they obviously are in collaboration with to make money. Every stop is a trap to pressure you into tipping or buying something.

          Great service, reliable and informative.
Melissio was the best tour guide. We stopped at all the main attractions in Mazatlan. He was very informative and helpful. He took good care of us. Highly recommend this tour. We are from Canada and this is our first time in Mazatlan

          Phenomenal!!!!
The ebike tour and guide (Sébastien) were phenomenal!!! It was just my husband and I, so we got a private tour! If you're interested in seeing the main highlights, history and understanding the local lifestyle, we would highly recommend this excursion. Score 10 out of 10!!!

          VERY CULTURAL
Absolutely wonderful!!!! Hubby & I had Carlos Mendas as our personal guide. We could choose p/u time. Went to see Malpica, Concordia & Copala. Carlos extremely knowledgeable about history & culture. Provided beer, water, soda and a fabulous lunch. Very calm, relaxing tour we could do at our own pace... .HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Booked Carlos thru Nexus Tours. This is not your typical touristy thing

          Culture tour
This tour took us to two villages we had not been before, Concordia and Copala. Visited a bakery and tile maker while in Concordia and toured the church and govt. bldg. then the curvy road ride to Copala. This Mtn village is small and had an interesting artisan shop. The old church happened to be closed that day. Lunch was done seaside back in Mazatlan. The big negative was the distance driving.

          Been there, done that
Lots of waiting due to a couple of cruise ships in port. Very friendly guide/driver but upon reaching stone island, very few lounge chairs. Communication for activities was sparse. Drinks and food were good. Service was attentive.

Learn about Mazatlan with the historical tour
We learned a lot about the history of Mazatlan from Ricardo and we enjoyed it. We went to the cathedral downtown. It rivals those of Europe and is not to be missed! Lunch at the restaurant on the beach was very good. We spent a little too much time in the car, but there were several street closures making the roads full of traffic. Overall I would recommend it.

          Fantastic trip!
Friendly, informative tour guide, a fun tequila and liquor tasting and a final stop at a fantastic Mexican seafood restaurant right on the beach. I highly recommend this tour!

          good experience
In February 2024 we got to Mazatlan on a cruise and did not have anything planned. In the port we met Jorge L, with Van#21, who offered a City Tour right on the spot. AC van, drinks/beer provided, sightseeing stops, nice personable narratives - all good.

          Not Quite What We Expected
We were supposed to meet the van at a pre-determined location at 9:00am, as per the text message I received. As we left to meet the van, we noticed the address we were provided did not match the pin drop on the map. We called the driver and he said the name of the hotel had changed, and we were to meet him at our hotel at 10:00. So we went back to the hotel where they met us promptly at 10:00. They were very courteous, and we were on our way. The trip description mentioned some stops at a village en route to the tequila factory. The first stop was at a candy factory, which appeared to be a woman's kitchen. It was a little awkward as several people were jammed into a small room and the woman making the candy kept handing out samples, obviously hoping we would make a purchase. I did not care for it myself and I don't think many others did either, so we left. The next stop was a "dancing horse" training farm. We were encouraged to give tips for the "performance" because the farm only got paid once a year for their training. While the horses appeared to be well cared-for, I did not consider it dancing. The horses were just quickly stepping around the whip and the spurs, which they tried to choreograph to music. I found it difficult to pay for this type of entertainment. The next stop was a rooster breeding ground, in which the roosters were bred and sold for cockfighting. We did not go inside the gates (thankfully) because it was hard enough seeing endless rows and rows of small houses with roosters tied on short chords. We finally got to the tequila tasting, and we were given a tour of the buildings and the process was explained via a large pictoral display. We were each given 3 tickets to use for 3 shots. It was a nice bar but it was a little crowded as other tours were there as well. Then afterward we went to lunch at a nice Mexican restaurant. The food was really good, but it was a long day, much of which I didn't feel was necessary to the tour - it was just a mechanism to get the patrons to spend more money. The tour was supposed to be from 9:00-1:00, but we didn't get back to our hotel until almost 4:00, and we were the first to be dropped off. I think if we had stuck to tequila tasting only, it would have been a more interesting and timely trip.

You can find something more compelling.
This excursion was pleasant and enjoyable. The guide Jesus was thoughtful and funny. We stopped at a brick factory where worker toil at making bricks by hand, and also in a couple tourist areas of pleasant towns. We spent most of the day in the van. Nothing unique or spectacular. If my best friend asked my opinion, I would say “don’t bother”.

Great drive. Stopping to see how artisans created their artwork was informative as well as interesting. The town we visited was mystical and the food at the restaurant was delicious.

          They were a no-show
They were a no-show. I called them the night before to confirm my tour (I had to call them because they didn’t honor their commitment to notify me.) They told me a 9:15am pickup at the hotel. I called the same number this morning, and it went straight to voicemail. In the voicemail was totally generic with zero mention of their company.

Great Fun with Smart Bike Company
My wife and I had a blast exploring Mazatlan with Smart Bike Company. Their electric bikes are top-notch and easy to ride, making it a fun way to see the city. Our guide, Juan, was fantastic – knowledgeable and really friendly. He showed us around some great spots and kept the tour lively and safe. The e-bikes are a great way to cover more ground without getting too tired. It’s a smooth ride and they’re perfect for different fitness levels. The only downside? The tour was just 2 hours long – I wish it could have lasted longer because it was so much fun.I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mazatlan. Whether you’re new to e-bikes or a seasoned rider, you’re going to have a good time. It’s a cool way to check out the city.

We booked the private van tour and had to make some last minute changes due to our cruise ports changing. The company changed with no questions asked. On the day of the excursion, we had Raul as our driver. We are a family of five, two kids, two parents and grandpa. We did not a specific itinerary planned and asked Raul to take us to where he thought we would enjoy. We saw the cliff divers, the city from various view points, the Cathedral, shopping and was always willing to stop for bathroom breaks. He provided such a comprehensive history lesson of Mazatlan and we learned so much. We recommended a great place for lunch on the beach where we got to sample the amazing shrimp prepared in multiple ways and got to listen to live band. We finished the trip with some a mazing ice cream. This was our first time to Mazatlan and will not be our last. Thank you for the amazing tour!

Mazatlan Van Tours are awesome. Our tour guide Ramiro Garzon knows everything about the city. He always shows us new places every time we visit. Ramiro is the best tour guid we have ever had. I recommend everyone use this company whenever they visit Mazatlan. We always feel safe and never feel rushed. He always gives us plenty of time to see everything. He makes sure we always get back to our ship with plenty of time to spare.

We did a city tour last Tuesday, with Carlos Juarez as our driver and guide. I rode up front with Carlos, he was constantly making sure everyone in back could hear or if they had questions. Carlos is a great ambassador for Mazatlan. We came in on one of the cruise ships and set it up with an American lady in the port area. My wife and I will be back.

We booked a private tour for 2 families with young kids. We booked a private tour so that we could tailor it to the attention spans and tolerance of our young kids. Our tour guide Jesus Valdez was friendly and spoke excellent English and showed us the best vistas of Mazatlan and made an excellent itinerary. We were able to see the Malecón, cliffdivers, vista of the lighthouse, driving through Old Mazatlan and the Plaza, stopping at the Cathedral, with time at the market and a stop for lunch. Old Mazatlan was colorful and charming and I’m glad we got to explore it. The market was chaotic but the kids loved hunting down a cheap souvenir there. We even had time for an afternoon visit to the Aquarium which was an unexpected treat. I highly recommend this tour for families.

We were in town via cruise ship and had limited time. We met Eduardo Sanchez at the peir and he politely introduced the idea of a van tour. He clearly identified where we would go and how long it would take. We discussed pricing and it was very favorable.

Important to us, as we were visiting during pandemic times is that it was a private van for just our group of four and the van was also very comfortable and air conditioned.

Now to the important stuff. The tour was great fun!! Eduardo is very out going and knows a great deal about the area as he and his family, and his 2 dogs live there. You'll learn a lot about Mazatlan during your tour and he's very open to stopping where you want to stop. There is time allowed to get out, take photos, do some shopping, explore an old town market and really get to know the character of Mazatlan, both the old town and the new town.

I highly recommend this if you want to learn some local history and information and see and experience Mazatlan, from end to end. I also recommend asking for Eduardo Sanchez as your driver, we all loved his energy, enthusiasm and local knowledge.

We picked up the tour at the cruise ship terminal after we disembarked. We had not booked in advance. Jésus was our guide and showed how valuable being a long time resident of Mazatlán was to conduct a tour. He was very personable and took extra time to answer all our questions. As we had time, our 3 hour tour ended up being over 4 hours for no additional cost. Would recommend this company and any of their tours.

Request Sergio when you contact them, pull in to port or get to Mazatlan. His English is excellent. He is a wonderful tour guide and you tell him what you want to see and he will take you, patiently wait, and give you the history if you want. We had 10 people, all age groups with us and he was great with everyone. We paid 25 per adult(6 adults)for the day and we were our by ourselves. We had the best time of all our Mexican ports and he was by far the best! I can't speak to other guides so make sure you ask for Sergio.

This was our family’s first time to Mazatlan, and we really had no idea where to begin our day of touring the city with all the suggestions given by so many at our resort. We decided to use Mazatlan Van Tours (many great reviews on Trip Advisor) and they sent Jesus to be our personal guide.

We had “the best day ever” (as my kids would say) exploring the city and learning so much about Mazatlan’s history with Jesus. He knew so much about the community, landmarks, neighborhoods, restaurants, the market, and the “must see” attractions. We did the 6-hour tour and had plenty of time to see the Golden Zone, beautiful neighborhoods, Old Town, cliff divers, the market, cathedral, boat docks, and more! Jesus was beyond patient with our uncertainty of what to do or where to go, as well as our two younger boys’ multiple potty breaks!! ! We told him the things we knew we wanted to see and asked him to fill in the rest with what he thought was best. He had outstanding recommendations for lunch and dinner, and there was no part of the day that was a disappointment. This part of our stay in Mazatlan was by far our favorite and left us wanting to come back and see more (hopefully with Jesus!)! After being dropped off at our resort, one of our kids said, “He was just so nice. It was like spending a day with your papa!” We couldn’t have asked for a better guide to show us this beautiful city!

Crazy busy the day we were in Mazatlán-3 cruise ships so the cruise ship area was very crowded and chaotic. I had contacted the private tour via aviator requesting a number of tour guides who had received outstanding reviews. No guarantee but they would do their best to assign one. The company actually has a desk inside the cruise terminal or they usually have reps wandering around the interior courtyard of the terminal to assist you with check in Unfortunately we waited for almost 30 minutes passed our pickup time. The rep kept telling us the guide was on his way. Guide was nice. Spoke good English and knew tons about the city. Offered to take us to wherever we wanted. To stop for us to get out and take pictures. At this point with so much traffic and the heat we just preferred to stay in the car. He did suggest a place for margaritas and nachos on the beach in the “new” town. Had to wait there too. Good but touristy. Too bad the town was just too busy not only from the ships but Mexico was still celebrating the Christmas holiday so lots of visitors!

Our driver, Gabriel, was bi-lingual and welcomed a chance for me to try out my Spanish while we toured Matzatlan. The tour itself was literally whatever or wherever we wanted. We gave Gabriel some broad guidelines and he drew from his years of experience to take us some very cool places that were not filled with tourists. Historical, whimsical, peaceful, beautiful vistas. It was perfect! I really got a feel for life in Matzatlan. Gabriel was patient with some of our group of seven's indecisions and helped us find some fun spots. The driver was courteous, safe to drive with, very knowledgable of the area. I would recommend a tour with Gabriel and this group.
