          Awesome Food Experience
The food tour was fascinating! Well worth taking. I learned a lot about the local dishes, the history of corn, the way foods have changed around the world as a result of colonization and the history/culture of the Huatulco area. We enjoyed sampling the many tasty dishes and seeing all the different small vendors and restaurants. With Jane as a trusted food expert, we could try places and foods we never would have felt comfortable to on our own and mark them down for return visits. So many tasty treats. Thanks, Jane! It was awesome!

          A must do!
Oh my gosh, we loved this and loved Jane! We learned so much about Mexico and about cooking and the history of food in Mexico. Also, nice to get out of city center and see how people are actually living away from where we were staying in an Air BNB. The chilled hibiscus margaritas were the best way to end the day. I appreciated that we received the recipes and can’t wait to try out some of my new knowledge at home. It was very hot, so dress appropriately because there is no air conditioning. Would do it again, or would do one of her other food tours or would eat at her restaurant Cafe Juanita on our next visit. A great activity for a group of friends, a couple, a single person or a family. 🇲🇽 Thank you Jane 💕

          Viva Oaxaca!
We attended the cooking class with Jane and it was fantastic! My girlfriend loved learning to cook mole, prepare fresh corn tortilla and learning about the history of the Oaxaca's culture. I learned how to prepare delicious margaritas :D

Delicious Mole Cooking Class in Mountains of Oaxaca
We went to Huatulco as part of a cruise we were on. We wanted to do something different than the normal cruise excursions. This cooking class was just what we were looking for. A unique experience in the Mountains of Oaxaca. The price included a 30 minute ride to and from the class from the cruise dock. The open air classroom was really in a beautiful secluded location. We got to make two different kinds of mole and tortillas from scratch. The food we made was delicious. Jane and Rosa are great hosts and we got to learn a lot about the food history of Mexico. Jane sent us the recipes we made in class and we can't wait to make them at home. The total time was about 3 1/2 hours and we got back to the cruise dock in plenty of time to explore the shops and entertainment around Huatulco.

A wonderful experience from start to finish!
Jane was amazing! She has obviously been doing this for a while because everything was so well thought out and prepared for us. She taught us a lot about the local culture and about Oaxaca's history while we cooked, and we got to learn so much about the local area. That was an unexpected part but very much loved it. The food was delicious - we made tortillas and 2 types of mole with chicken. Very fresh and delicious. Would HIGHLY recommend this experience for anyone, young/old/cook/not a cook, it's for everyone. And definitely buy some of her homemade salts!

Don't Miss this Super Fun Class!
What a wonderful experience cooking at Chiles and Chocolate with Jane. She is a wealth of information on the history of food in Mexico - we learned a lot and the food and margaritas were excellent!!! The cooking studio is brightly decorated and really a happy place in a typical village. Thanks so much for this experience Jane - it was a highlight of our trip! Robin & Arthur

          A must if visiting Huatulco!
Frances was an amazing guide! I’m sometimes skeptical of tours because I often find it feels extra touristy and not authentic to the culture of a location. But! Not this one! This was our first time in Huatulco (our group of 4 was two 30-something couples; we spent our trip mostly at a resort), and we were able to experience the culture and food in an authentic way through this tour. I really appreciated the personal touches Frances gave on the tour - nothing was rushed about it; she took time to answer questions, linger longer at the places we liked, and got us so much good food. I just wish I had been hungrier coming into the night because I got full too quickly! I can’t wait to come back and experience more of this beautiful area one day, and am glad for the introduction Frances gave us. Would highly recommend!

          Wholly mole!
Enjoyed the mole cooking class, where we made dark and yellow moles with chicken and rice in a country village. Jane was very knowledgeable as a chef and her cooking classes are infused with interesting Mexico history lessons. At the end, we got to enjoy our cooking with the other cooks in the class at an outdoor table in a beautiful garden.

The very Best Morning taking the Street Food Cooking class
A great and enjoyable experience. Juanita is so well versed on not only cooking, but the history of Oaxaca. It was as fascinating listening to her as it was to cook! The kitchen was set up beautifully with 4 cooking stations. Everything was well organized by her efficient assistant in terms of any ingredients or kitchen ware we needed. The best part was taking all this wonderful food and beautiful Jamaica Flower cocktail to the picnic table under the trees to share and enjoy together.

We were brought out by van to Zimitlan, a small community about 1/2 hour out of Huatulco, where Jane lives and has her cooking school. It is a beautiful area, with the river running through it. We learned a lot about Mexico, its history, food, culture and Frida Kahlo's life. The food we made was different than your typical Mexican food... Chicken in Pipian sauce (a type of mole), corn pudding, and introduced us to huauzontles, an edible green, native to Mexico. It was interesting to learn about the importance of corn to the nutrition of Mexican people. Jane was a gold mine of information! Thank you so much!
