Highly recommend this company - small groups of no more than 10 and a very knowledgeable guide.

Slightly more expensive than some of the other trips we saw but free pick up/drop off, water and fruit provided and best of all, they head out half hour before all the other companies so you see very few other kayakers. By the time we were heading back it was starting to get very busy.

Check the tide times before you book and try to go at high tide.

Truly remarkable nature experience

This was a wonderful experience!!
Our guide was very knowledgeable, he has been doing this for over 6 years so he knows the area very well and has told us many interesting things about the mangrove forest.
Unlike other tours, this journey starts early in the morning and the first half is upstream meaning that it is very easy to paddle on the way back through the limestone cliffs, which offers great views too!
The group is also small consisting of only 4 kayaks which makes the journey very nice and cozy.
I can only recommend this experience, if you are into kayaking don’t hesitate and book here!

Fantastic experience, the best guide

Excellent tour, kayak through the mangroves and view the limestone peaks while drifting along. AK makes this tour so special with his knowledge and humour he even whistle "take me home country road" to add to the atmosphere. This company get you there first before everyone else turns up so you can enjoy the serenity of the place. Pick up was on time snacks on arrival and after fantastic.

We spend the morning with our tour guide AK and it was a wonderful experience. We got to see a lot of the surrounding nature with some background information. Because the tourism here in Thailand is still recovering from the pandemic and tourism isn’t booming yet, we had the privilege to have a private tour. Nonetheless with a group of people it would be just as fun because you can experience it together. We saw different kinds of animals and could even spot some monkeys which was a wonderful experience. As backpackers we are on a budget but thought that it was definitely worth it because it is not something that you see very often.

It was a beautiful day thanks to AK.

Crabs, starfishes, monkeys and a cute water monitor
If you are in Krabi, this is a must do activity! I really liked that previous kayaking experience is not required, the track can be done easily. Our tour guide was very informative, told a lot about the history of the mangrove trees and forests. Because of the low tide we were lucky to stop in a sand island, where we could observe starfishes, seasnails and little crabs. In the mangrove forest we also saw some monkeys and a water monitor (varanus salvator). I recommend to choose the earliest tour available, because of the low tide and the heating sun. Also if you go late, there are other companies doing the same tour and it can be crowded and hard to navigate.

One lucky morning in the Mangroves

We have had a great experience with this tour this morning. The pick up was exactly on time at our hotel and the guide was very friendly!

Two things make this tour stand out: first of all, you are with a small group of people so it is very easy to get around in the kayak, even if you're not experienced.

Second, you leave pretty early so you are ahead of the other larger companies in the area. This way we've experienced the mangroves at low tide, so we were able to visit another beach and spot the crabs, fish and starfish right away. And since you're early, the canyon is completely empty when you enter so you can spot the animals in the most natural environment. We were lucky and spotted a few monkeys right at the start with a sea eagle flying over head. And also some walking fish and a diving monkey that went for a swim.

The tour was great and informative, we can highly recommend the experience!

This was amazing. If you’re trying to decide, just book it. Especially good if it is high tide because then you can go through the mangroves. So just google ao nang tide. Make sure low tide is 1-2 hours before you’re picked up. Guide was excellent, very knowledgeable, very friendly, small group, and you start before the rest of the tours so you’ll be all alone.

Overall, it was an okay tour and I'm glad we got to see another part of the area. The mangrove forest was very interesting to see, but there was very little commentary or explanation from the guide. It was a big group and the whole thing wasn't organized very well - it look while to pick us up, then set up the kayaks and a lot of that could have been avoided with better organization. I'm happy to got to see it but I probably wouldn't go again.

This review don't belong to us, this is obvious. It was written by a random guy that we never had as guest. 1. We have only 4 kayaks (max 8 pax) so, therefore a "big group" is simply impossible. 2. All reviews talk about the quality of our guide AK. Never had a single complain about him. He booked with another company, not with us. 3. We don't have his name in our booking records. This review don't belong to us. 100% of our bookings come from VIATOR and partners. Anyone can write on Tripadvisor. But only real guests can write reviews on VIATOR. This is hurting our image very badly.

Great friendly and knowledgeable guide, mangroves all to ourselves

This trip was great as we set off in the kayaks before 9, so we were the first tour group into the bay and the mangroves which meant we got to appreciate the sereneness and the change in tides and light compared to the other tour groups which we seen coming in later.
Our guide (AK) was really friendly and chatted well with all the guests of various nationalities. He really knows a lot about the area, nature and history etc. which really enhanced the trip.
I would go on another of their tours again
