About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- W3951QMmichaelb0 contributionsGreat service topped off with a leopard sightingGreat service! Picked up from our hotel in Galle and taken to Yala National Park - was really happy with the safe driving of Jiwantha and his recommendation for lunch. The Guide around the Park was passionate about the animals and explained things well. We saw a leopard which was really special. Thanks for the great experienceWritten February 10, 2025
- thatnytraveler0 contributionsSuper funTrain maybe delayed it once on it get ready for lots for scenic views. Definitely get a window seat in second class not first class since windows don’t open in first class. You’re in for a treat so bring snacks and drinks to chill to while you take in the views. Bring TP since you never know and enjoy the ride.Written February 9, 2025

- uglykoala0 contributionsGreat South Coast OptionWe had an amazing time on this trip and I'm so pleased we selected this option. Mewan was very helpful in seeing up the itinerary before the day and confirming everything with me. The guide on the day arrived promptly and drive safely. He was helpful and pointed us in the right direction if we wanted more information. Out of all the activities I enjoyed the tea plantation the most. If was fascinating learning about the different types of tea, and the shop at the end was also great to visit. My husband enjoyed the turtle sanctuary the most. He liked learning the turtle facts and was enchanted when he was allowed to hold a turtle.Written February 1, 2025

- Janflute0 contributionsEnjoyable experienceWe really enjoyed our safari. Our driver and guide were skilled in spotting and we saw many birds and creatures, including two enormous crocodiles. The elephants didn’t put in a showing, due to the slight rain we were told, but we were lucky enough to see one by the road on the drive back from the park. We had a longer safari than we anticipated and the start time was changed to 2pm. We arrived back at the western park entrance at about 7pm. Our first hour in the park was very quiet and rewarding and we felt like we were the only visitors in the reserve. We were very glad that we had taken our own binoculars to use as this meant that we could see the animals and birds much better than with the naked eye. Our guide spoke little English so we weren’t able to find out much about what we were seeing and the various habitats unfortunately but a quick look at the information board before setting off did help. There was an element of ‘off road’ experience towards the end of our time in the park, which was fun but further animal spotting would have been preferable. Other safari jeeps were also doing this so I guess it’s part of the experience. Communication was good and the driver and guide were there to meet us on our arrival although we felt that a warmer introduction would have been nice.Written January 29, 2025
- GabeK19850 contributionsThe Only Way To See Colombo! An amazing experience with an amazing guide Nishantha. Saw the tour originally through Instagram & loved the novelty of it. Driving around Colombo in the old Jeep was an experience I’ll never forget. In the open air it felt like we were right amongst all the action & hustle & bustle of the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable & made the tour! He looked after us so well. They are not lying about the free flow drinks either! A well stocked esky was onboard with so many options! A highlight was stopping & having a fresh coconut & enjoying that as we drove along. I can’t imagine seeing Colombo any other way! Highly recommend the tour!Written January 28, 2025
- Quest187213929140 contributionsWonderful train rideI went with my girl friends on 24th Jan 2025 and my train was from Nanu Oyo station to Ella. We booked a first class ticket, it was a 3hrs journey. The train ride is very scenic, you should take one if you are travelling to Nuwara Elliya in Srilanka.Written January 26, 2025

- SusanG2010 contributionsWonderful birding safari in Bundala, organized by LakpuraWe had a great birding safari in Bundala, organized by Lakpura. I had initially booked with TripAdvisor, then canceled because I was concerned about getting back to my cruise ship on time. A Lakpura representative reached out to me to see if there was a problem they could help with. Indeed, they were able to offer a trip at a time that worked great for our cruise arrival and departure. We had a comfortable air-conditioned car and careful driver from the cruise terminal to the park, where we transferred to our safari vehicle and park guide. The trip in the park was fantastic. In addition to fabulous birds, we saw an elephant quietly grazing, so close that my video recorded his munching sounds. We also saw two kinds of monkeys, land monitors, and crocodiles. Our guide, Lena, was very good at spotting, and was able to identify all of the birds and other animals. He had a bird book and showed us the entries for many species as we stopped to view. He was also an excellent driver on the rutted park roads. I highly recommend working with Lakpura to book a Bundala tour. From their website you can contact them, and link up in WhatsApp to converse easily.Written January 14, 2025
