About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- TiffanyCrider0 contributionsExcellent transportI had an easy smooth transition from the airport to the hotel... They were friendly and overall wonder! Would highly recommend!Written August 18, 2024
- cathywW3693WW0 contributionsWhat an amazing tour! Beaches, caves and Conch burger!First of all I would like to commend Reno for being such a great, informative and fun guide. He had so much information and is passionate about Freeport, his tourand his guests. He answered all of our questions and then some. He took us to 2 beautiful beaches and 2 sections of the caves. He then took us to the restaurant and gave us time to enjoy our burger and the 2nd beach. Highly recommend this tour and ask for Reno!!Written March 6, 2024
- paperchasr0 contributionsRefreshingly ProfessionalThis review is to simply compliment Ms. Zelda Forbes for her professionalism. We were booked with another tour operator that left before our ship had even docked and Ms. Forbes attempted to assist us. She was able to get the other tour operator on her cellphone. However, he was rude and refused to return to pick us up even though he admitted that the ship we arrived on was not docked when he left. We very much appreciated her assistance and integrity in trying to remedy the situation, especially considering we were not her customers. If we were to return to the island, we would not hesitate to book a tour with her company.Written January 11, 2024

- J3317CAlindam0 contributionsLizzie’s on the water is wonderfulThis was outstandingly homemade Bahamian food! Ribs just fell of the bone, chicken fingers were light and crispy and the cracked conch was mouth-wateringly good. The only problem was that we filled up before I could finish. Eating on the porch watching the water was just lovely. The staff were sweet and very thoughtful. Escape the tourists to find a great time!Written March 30, 2023
- 433faithe0 contributionsFreeport, Bahamas PortIf I cruise to this port again I will probably not get off the ship. The port is a ways from town so I cannot review town. The port is reasonably outfitted for shopping. It was clean. Do not expect any really good deals as the vendors need the business.Written June 9, 2022
- Laquanda G0 contributionsPeaceful Holiday TripI absolutely loved this stop while cruising for Christmas. The people were super friendly and helpful . It was kind of pricey getting to the destination but it was worth it . Bring snacks and water because there are no concessions . The sights were awesome , it is more appropriate for teen kids as well .Written February 1, 2022

- bskmkr0 contributionsDont book this tour. It is not available! We booked this excursion, paid for it, received an email and got tickets. We showed up on the island day of the excursion. No one came. We called and they told us that this excursion was not available and had not been available since the hurricane several months prior. We were very dissapointed...on the island with nothing to do!Written January 20, 2020
- 639marthap0 contributionsParadise in earthI was very excited to go to this place since one of my friends had recommended, when we arrived to the island we found a great driver for a reasonable price who took us several places and finally to Lucayan. While traveling he explained the history of the place and told us what to do to enjoy the place then he pick us at the right time was a very quiet and clean place I enjoyed a lotWritten November 6, 2019
- Patrick T0 contributionsIt didn't take placePickup was supposed to be at 10:00 AM at my hotel. When they didn't show by 10:30, I phoned the office number and the lady said they cancelled the tour and I would have to contact Viator for a refund. That was 2 weeks today the tour was cancelled and 13 days since I filed for a refund with Viator and I haven't heard back from either Forbes or Viator.Written August 23, 2019
- Tracy P0 contributionsNot what was advertisedI cannot recommend this tour. We drove around a block with expensive homes - Millionaire Row. We went to a small store with t-shirts and rum cakes. The fresh fruit market was 2 stalls with old fruit and 6 stalls selling t-shirts, smoothies and other knick knacks. Garden of the Groves - more stalls with items for sale. Not worth the time.Written July 27, 2019

Warning!!! On the Freedom now in Freeport, Bahamas. The swim with the Pigs was sold out through Carnival . However when we got off the ship there was a tour company in the port that offered this excursion at Crystal Beach. Do not I repeat do not book with them. We got to the beach via a taxi they procured for us and when we got there he told us he would pick us up between 2-2:30 then we were met by a lady at the entrance who told us our Pig tour would be a 2 and would last for 30 min. We told her our ride would be there at two but she assured us that wouldn’t be a problem. At tow we lined up for the tour and one of the people in our group was not doing the tour he went and met the taxi driver to tell him we were in the tour. The man told he didn’t care and he was leaving at 2:30 even if we were not there. Now first of all this was a can not a tour bus, second he worked with the tour company and third there were no other transportation options to get back to the ship. We cut the tour short and only spent 15 min with the pigs. At 2:26 most of us were in the van and the man proceed to yell at us closed the doors with my two sons not yet on. Then he pulls out a knife lays it in the dash and said I’m not putting up with this $#*@ today. We finally get back to port and try to go to the tour company which said it was open till 5:30 everyday and they were locked up and gone. Below is the company information. Just don’t want anyone else to go through this.

Let me start this off by saying maybe my vision of what I "thought" this would be was unrealistic. I thought they would take us to an island where the pigs roamed free and they would come to us when we had the apples. What actually happened was they had us walk way out into the water (which we knew was cold, it's Jan.). Told us to make a circle then they blew a whistle and some guys opened a pen and had to chase the pigs out. The pigs didn't even want to come out into the water so the guide has us walk almost back up to the beach while guys kept chasing them out of the pen. After a while a few of the pigs did come out, but the actual time spent with the pigs was about 10-15 minutes NOT AN HOUR. If I had known these pigs weren't wild and actually held captive I wouldn't have done this tour. I could have saved myself $109. in a pond with pigs in Indiana.

Was so excited to do this excursion and this was honestly the sole reason I booked a cruise was to do this. The excursion was terrible, we were like girded cattle to Crystal Beach and then had a egotistical drill Sargent life guard tell us to make lines and then went in the debris filled ocean. The pigs were let out of a pen, about a dozen and we were given sharp wooden spears to put Apple pieces on. The pigs were grabbing the entire spears, it was full of commotion and they were being man handled. Wasn’t serene or nice at all. Wouldn’t do it again and don’t recommend and felt terrible for the pigs.

1st the “General” or that’s what others called him and what he called himself was a power hungry jerk. He screamed like they were stupid tourists and treated them plain horribly. He demanded exact straight lines, not talking and I even was called out for having my hand on my hip which I replied I left the military 25 years ago. He was not a general to me. He also treated several kids worse than me. He made a fool of himself and seems to have a God complex
2nd the pigs. They are gentle, “ALL” 4 of them. Not enough pigs for 50 people. You take apples and put them on wood skewers then feed the pigs off the skewer which was fine expect you are in knee deep water. The just walked around in chest deep to them. I though it was suppose to be “swim with pigs” not wade with them, just saying. Also you go out in the water and have your skewered apples then they release the pigs to what must have been 50-60 people. They walk around you for 15 mins getting apples off peoples skewers then pick up the scrap apples people dropped next they go straight back to their pins. You get 15 mins to see pigs then you have beach day.

These pigs are not the real pigs that live on these beaches. The pigs used are underfed for tourists attraction and are unhealthy due to the location— poor sunscreen and are able to be covered in mud to protect its skin. Do not support this industry, for the money you’re paying, these pigs look miserable and not cared for. Keep your cash and spend it somewhere else.

My husband and I did this as an excursion from a cruise. It started with an excellent, funny, and informative tour by driver David on the way to the beach. When we got there, we had some beach time. There was a small bar with drinks and food, picnic tables with umbrellas, beach lounge chairs, bathrooms, and showers. The General gives safety info and instructions in his unique military way; he's great! We waded out into the water, and they released the pigs, who came running with ears flapping. We fed them apples and got to pet them. After the apples were gone, we got to hold the piglets. In the end, we had some more beach time and then hopped back on the bus for a final tour with David. We had a blast!

This company took our reservation and money and cancelled 15 minutes prior to the pick up time. And only after we called them! Do not waste your time or money on any tour with them. We were on a cruise and were not able to plan anything else due to the late notice. They claimed they emailed us, but we only received the email AFTER we called and they told us the trip was cancelled. So disappointed

The activity was with 5 pigs for 58 people. We only had a few seconds to feed them and take pictures. No swimming or pampering time. Pigs were defecating all around us. The piglets don’t swim with you; after you finish the activity with the 5 pigs , you walk to a corral and hold them for a picture. The beach is rocky , with glass and shallow, not a nice one to spend 5 hours at on a tour. I don’t recommend this tour. The experience was definitely not worth the price.

I would not do this again. There were only five pigs that are kept in a small corral that they brought out with some apple slices. The pigs defecated everywhere(I get it they are pigs) and I would NOT do this excursion again especially for 90 dollars. The beach was pretty sad, very rocky and full of glass and the workers asked for tips on the intercom six times( I counted). The interaction with the pigs was only about 20 minutes MAX and then we sat there on a bench for two hours waiting to go home. We almost spent 150 dollars on a taxi for the four of us to leave early.

Amazing experience for a quick get away! We decided to do a last minute cruise to the Grand bahama! The staff were friendly and the hosts were fantastic! The pig "oreo" was amusing to watch lead the pack into the water. Never have I imagined I would swim and play with pigs in the ocean! Once in a life time experience!

We are on a carnival cruise that ports in Freeport on June 9 (elation). Does this excursion pick up at the cruise port?

Just looking to find out where is the best place to book this excursion? We are going for a one day from Fort Lauderdale to Freeport August 2020. And any information of things to do, eat, all opinions are welcome.

I book everything on Viator. I believe there will be transportation for you to the swimming with the pigs. If you have time for dinner Bernie near island seas resort has great food. It is a little shack but don't let that fool you Bernie's is a great time. The lobster is wonderful. Another option that I love for food there is called Agave and it is at the Port Lucya shopping area. If you like seafood and are there on a Wed night, the fish fry is great too.

Can I book directly with Trip Advisor instead of Norwegian Cruise? The price on trip advisor is $34 per person cheaper than if I book directly with NCL...
Written February 21, 2020
I do t believe so because with the cruise it includes transportation from the marketplace where the boat is docked.
Written February 21, 2020
Do they allow on lookers?
My family wants to do this activity, but my mother doesn't. She if course is okay with watching, but since she won't be participating doesn't feel the need to pay. Is there an area free of charge for non participates (traveling with Norwegian Cruise)
Written February 21, 2020
Yes you can stay on the beach and not enter the water. There is a bar to wait. I cannot grant they are ok with it though.
Written February 28, 2020
I did this on grand Bahama Island. Not sure about Nassau. Check out Viator website This is where I get all my travel activities. They will tell you on the page if pickup is offered.
