We took a walking tour of Nassau during our vacation in the Bahamas. Our tour guide, Charles, was very knowledgeable and more than happy to show us the sights. He was extremely professional, sharing his life experience and knowledge of the city and the nation, and we could not be happier with our experience. We highly recommend booking a tour with Dilly Dally tours.

I didn't like the options that Royal Caribbean offered for the port excursion so I went to Trip Advisor and found the Dilly Dally Walking Tour. The tour was very informative and we got to see a lot of unique places. The tour guide was funny and accommodating - it was raining and they offered everyone on the tour a poncho plus they provided us with water. It is a lot of walking but it's a great way to explore a new city if you are unfamiliar with the Bahamas.

Charles was very knowledgeable and provided lots of interesting information about Nassau and the surrounding islands. On top of that he was very kind and accommodating of our family which included our 8- and 10-year old kids.
The tour took place at a leisurely pace but it can get quite warm. We were provided with water bottles before the start of our tour which was very much appreciated. Also be aware that the tour covers some uneven terrain, small hills, and the Queen’s Staircase so keep that in mind if you have any mobility restrictions.
We were in Nassau for only a few hours as we were traveling on a cruise. We chose this tour because we wanted to avoid the spring breakers at the beaches and we enjoy getting to know a little more about new places from locals. Plus, we didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a crowded activity that would only last an hour or two. This tour fit that criteria. Our kids probably would’ve chosen something else but my husband and I really enjoyed it.

Charles, our tour guide, was exceptional! He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and showed care as some participants were a bit slower. Wonderfully paced tour, covered a lot of interesting places that we would not have experienced without his guidance. Don't miss it!!

This tour has a little bit of everything: history, culture, local customs, and appreciation of the city at large. The walking time is rated at 3 hours, but really the walking is less when stops are included.
The stop at the rum refinery/house, was fun, as well as the scenic walk to get there. I would recommend this tour for anyone wanting a casual and paced tour, as they won't be rushed through all the highlights.

This was my first visit to Nassau and I was excited to visit the downtown area. Thanks to my guide Charles, I had a wonderful, informative experience. Charles lead me to all of the downtown highlights and provided historical narrative the entire way and answered all of my questions. We traveled from Queen's steps to the Parliament building to the Straw Market and many stops in between, If you want to see historical Nassau up close and personal, I highly recommend Dilly Dally Tours. Fairly priced with a great experience. Thanks Charles!

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Nassau. We had never been to the city, and had some time during a port day for a cruise. The tour provided a great 3 hour overview of the city highlights. The best part was our guide, Charles, who led us around the city while explaining the culture and history. The tour starts at the Dilly Dally office, which is a very short walk just a few blocks from the cruise port. It included a bottle of water, and some very interesting stops along the way.

My family and I really enjoyed the Dilly Dally Walking Tour. Nassau is very beautiful. The tour's highlight was our guide Charles, who answered questioned, made jokes and shared his love of the city.
If you are interested in a low key, education experience, this is a great excursion.

We arrived at the business about 45 minutes early to be sure we had the correct tour since we booked it online and not via the cruise ship. We were introduced to Vincent who was arranging a bike tour and in less then 15 minutes he started our tour of the city, Vincent is a young man with a great deal of knowledge of his country. We walked for almost 3 hours through the city visiting the Queens starcase, Fort fincasle, the old watertower, Nassau public library/former prison, Governors house,Parliament area, Greycliff Hotel and cigar making tour, Waitling Distillery, and the National Arts Museum. All along the tour we learned the history of Nassau and Vincent descibed all the vegetation along the streets. We were the only two on this tour and he really gave us an enjoyable day. We started the day on the ship and by the time we got back we had walked over 21,000 steps/ 8.1 miles. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in history of Nassau and the local culture.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for sharing the details of your experience with us and future guests! We are ecstatic to hear that you enjoyed the highlights of our wonderful city with Vincent as your guide. Super impressive that you walked 8.1 miles in one day. That's more than the width of the entire island (7 miles)!! Our tour is a leisure 2.4 miles in length but the 66 steps of the Queen's staircase definitely add to it. We were happy to share the history and culture of Nassau with you and hope that your travels bring you back to our sunny shores again!

We loved getting to know Charles throughout this walking tour. My fiancé and I were the only ones on the tour that day, so we were able to have a more intimate tour experience. He had a lot of extra insights ~not just plain facts~, and he was very personable with my fiancé and I. We really enjoyed getting to walk around streets, buildings and other local businesses that we would not have visited if we did not go on this tour!
For the cost, length of the tour, and places/attractions you get to visit, this is hands down one of the most valuable tour experiences you can get! We hope to visit again just to say "hello" to both Charles and Sonia. My fiancé and I heard the song "Da Frogs" while walking around Baha Mar before going on the tour, and Charles mentioned that it was a local song! ("The frogs go crak") Thank you again for such a memorable experience.

Can families with babies participate in this tour?
Sheryl Whitley

Yes - as long as you keep in mind that you are walking three hours around Nassau and there is the Queens Staircase to go up . However there is a way around that and since their are two tour guides one can lead the children / babies around to the other side with a parent . Also , younger children may have a hard time doing all that walking and may find the history talk to be boring since it’s not interactive . There is also a stop at a Distillery and a Wine shop which does not have anything for children .
I hope this helps .
