- Desiree H0 contributionsFull Day Access PassWithin walking distance from the ships! Jr and his crew were very accommodating. I took my teenage son and he enjoyed swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. The package also included beach chairs. I would recommend for travelers with families.Written September 1, 2018
- Antoinette R0 contributionsThe Perfect Day -- Bahama KayakI took a cruise with my two girls, age 10 and 12. When we arrived to Nassau we spent the day at Bahama Kayak on Junkenoo beach. We made friends, soaked up the sun, and enjoyed the wide variety of sports equipment available for all day use. we surely enjoyed ourselves. The equipment is in great condition, the staff is friendly, and the location is ideal. My kids keep thanking me for the perfect day, and I have to thank Bahama Kayak!☺Written July 28, 2018
- 0 contributionsCruise excursionsHusband and I were on a cruise for 20th anniversary. Stopped in to Bahama Kayak while in Nassau. Was fun being able to kayak, snorkel, paddle board, etc, and just lay out on the provided chair and umbrella without costing too much. The free public beach was decent, but George was friendly and helpful.Written September 28, 2016
- Amanda V0 contributionsPerfect for our day in portMy husband and I looked at all of the excursion options available on our cruise. There were four in our party (49, 45, 20, 18) so we were going to be paying adult pricing for four which was going to run us about $240...YIKES! The day before we left for our cruise I ran across these reviews on Trip Advisor for Bahama Kayak. I contacted Bahama Kayak via a Facebook message and reserved a spot for the four of us. I was immediately messaged back a reservation voucher to present when we arrived at the beach. I printed off the voucher and directions they sent, we got off of the ship, followed the map, and took our 15 minute walk to the beach. Two in our party wanted to kayak and snorkel while the other two wanted to soak up some rays. My husband said the equipment they used was in great condition and the best part was there were maybe three other people in the water snorkeling and kayaking so they didn't constantly bump into people like you normally do on a ship excursion! They were able to use the equipment for however long they wanted to and had a great time. We will be using Bahama Kayak every time we cruise to Nassau!!Written May 19, 2016
- Jawspools0 contributionsLove❤️Love❤️We had about 16 in our group in and out. Ages ranged from 10-65 and we had an absolute blast. The kids sang and rapped (clean rap) paddle boarded, kayaked, and snorkeled a little. Our chairs were set up and umbrellas provided if needed. These guys were amazing. They were always willing to help and were on top of their game helping my mother around. I have visited this island several times and I will be going right back to the general! great times were had by all and I can't wait to return!Written April 11, 2016

This turned into a pretty good beach day for us but wasn’t anything over the top. They do have plenty of equipment to use. The staff on our day was very friendly and helped out whenever we needed it.
My only issue is that I am worried that I paid the $50 for my wife and I for no reason. At times we were sitting in our chairs relaxing and it looked as if random people were just coming over and asking if they could use the equipment. I’m not sure if these people paid or not but it sure seemed like they were getting the same experience that I paid for, for free.
You can pay for the activities when you arrive at the beach so I don’t think pre-booking is completely necessary.

Good morning Jdenney, we appreciate your support. I am pretty sure all guests using the items paid their fees as we do accept walk on customers also. Nonetheless if this is possibly happening I will pay attention more carefully. Under normal circumstances we usually have green wrist bands for our watersports customers, however we probably ran out of them up until saturday past. Thank you for supporting our business as we look forward to enhancing the experience for your next visit.

It was our first time in the Bahamas. I had read that a lot of people stay on the ship but I figured since it was our first time we should give it a try. We were at Bahama Kayak just when it was opening. I had read the reviews and it seemed like others either loved it or hated it. I would say we are somewhere in the upper middle. I think it all depends on your perspective. We would go back but I might look into a resort day pass.
Yes, there was trash on the beach. There are garbage cans right there so we picked up some and tossed it. It’s the locals and tourists fault not Bahama Kayaks. But, those making money off the beach should take interest in keeping it clean to get business.
Yes, the life jackets and beach chairs seemed to be cast offs from Atlantis and other resorts, I don’t mind them getting reused instead of getting tossed. They were in fine condition.
There were people who were selling food and drinks but they weren’t aggressive or bothersome.
It makes sense, but I wish I would have known ahead of time that you have to keep the kayaks in the roped off swimming area. It’s a huge area, but we are kayakers so we just thought we’d be exploring.

I really liked that we were able to use all the different beach gear, all day, for just $25 each. The staff was very nice and reassuring. This was helpful for the little kids in our group who were sometimes afraid of the water. I read earlier that some guests weren't too happy thst some of the gear was being used for a second life from a local hotel, but I thought it was a great idea to keep costs and landfill pollution low and they were in good shape anyway well. All in all it was a great day. Thanks!

Amazing day at Junkanoo beach! They had all equipment advertised online, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and there were even beach chairs included in the price! We got to try out all the equipment and had such a fun day with perfect weather. We were allowed to bring our own food and drinks so we enjoyed some beers and snacks and the area is full of great beach bars for food and drinks. Snorkeling was our favorite part for sure- a once in a lifetime experience for a great price!

This place was great! It’s a littler further down the beach, so it was less crowded and a bit quieter. The staff here was very helpful. They got the kayaks and paddle boards in and out of the water for us and made our visit very easy! It was a nice way to spend the afternoon with being close to the cruise ship and without spending a ton of extra money. They also have drinks and food available to purchase at the little huts along the beach. Would definitely recommend!

We both agree that the general was one of the nicest people we came across while on the island. We live in a tourist area so we know it can get frustrating. But he seemed happy to have us there. He had all the equipment we needed for the kids to enjoy their time. Plus having beach chairs was nice. My daughter lost her phone in the water and he was going to help look for it. Thankfully he didn’t have to. I would definitely book again.

Lots of equipment in great condition and the staff were more than helpful. You also get beach loungers, though that area of the beach is away from the party party end and slightly more shaded by trees.
Amazing clear waters though and a fun day.
We walked over from the cruise port and it took about 20 mins.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Junkanoo Beach. Gabby was very helpful getting us set up to use equipment. We Kayaked, Snorkeled, Paddle Boarded and used the Water Trike. “Bigs” as he calls himself was very helpful to assist with operation of any water toys. We struggled a bit on paddle board but with Bigs help we picked it up quickly. Appreciated them also including an umbrella and chairs while also keeping an eye on our stuff while playing in the water. Great package and highly recommend this activity. They are located further West on the strand across from the Marriott. We appreciated their location and viewed it as a plus, you get away from the large groups and have a more private experience. More likely to see fish where they are located close to the artificial reef at top of the pier.

Good experience! They were very nice and friendly. The local there try to sell stuff, but they wasnt being aggressive or anything. We said no thank you and they left us alone. We did see some tourist that was giving the local an attitude for just asking if they need chairs and stuff. But the beach was nice, dont listen to the people in here. Some people really feel entitled!

This excursion is within walking distance of the port. We had a group of eight, all different ages. We used the paddle boards, kayaks, the aqua trikes, snorkel equipment and life jackets. They had chairs and umbrellas set up for us too. The staff was great, they felt like old friends. We spent our whole time there. I would definitely recommend them for a relaxing and fun day!

How do you get from the ship area to the appropriate beach area?
Written August 10, 2019
Hey off the ship walk to the right. Keep on the sidewalk you will go by the straw market but it’s about a 10 min walk from the ships. Just keep right and you will walk right into the sign Junkanoo Beach. You will go past Seagulls Bar. Keep walking on the beach and you will Bahama Kayak’s sign.
