It’s definitely a tourist trap but my wife literally cried tears of pure joy therefore it was worth every cent. My wife is very much a hardcore animal activist so we did a lot of research before hand to make sure this was not an abusive situation and I can say that what we saw this was a good situation for the animals.

This was a memory that will forever live rent free our minds.

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to spend time here. I was scheduled to swim with the sharks. However, my phone fell in the pool and I did not have access to contact someone from Blue Lagoon. By the time I did speak with someone, my excursion was too late. I did, however, receive a full refund.

We visited blue lagoon during an excursion from carnival sunshine. We decided to book the shark encounter because the reviews were so good! Boy, did they meet our expectations and then some! We were greeted by Stephen aka Steven (he made us laugh because his name tag and badge were spelled differently!) We took a leisurely walk to the shark encounter exhibit seeing most of this beautiful island! Once we got to the sharks, he passed us of into GREAT hands! Dominic was the head trainer and Shanique was an assistant. THEY WERE INCREDIBLE. They were knowledgeable beyond belief. They also helped with the anxious kids in our group get super comfortable! They were also very patient considering you’re dealing with wild animals knowing when they need breaks from pictures. I liked seeing how much they truly care for these sharks! I believe the only thing they said they needed were more trainers due to being short staff and cut back. This excursion was amazing but I sure do hope they get the extra trainers they need as they truly care about their careers and the livelihood of these remarkable beings! DO NOT SKIP THIS EXCURSION! We will be back!

Had an amazing time at the Blue Lagoon beach day tour in the Bahamas thru 3N Carnival Liberty cruise departing Port Canaveral, FL. Great host Reno!! I traveled with my family (15 people in total) and he was very attentive and accommodating. We booked 2 different tours - Beach day with inflatable waterpark access for elderly 😂😋 and Dolphin encounter for the teenagers. Both tours were great. The food was AMAZING!! Thank you to all the staff at Blue Lagoon. The water was perfect. They had dividers for each section. There's plenty of lounging chairs. The only con was that the tour started late and they cut our time from 5 hours to 3 hours so that was disappointing especially for the amount that we paid for. We boarded the ferry at 11:45 and it was a 30 min scenic ride to island. We had to leave at 3:30pm so we had to be at the ferry dock by 3:15pm. The entire tour was supposed to be from 11am for 5 hours which is 3pm. However they dont tell you that's counting getting off cruise and walking to ferry, boarding ferry, travel time to island, unboarding ferry. Another con was getting on and off the boat ferry was horrible. I think they should have ramp with ridges or stairs to accommodate. Getting on ferry with elderly people or overweight people was not great. We had to step down (wish I took pictures) with two guys assisting you. Then to get off was worse because we had to step up but it was more like leaping up smh with only one guy assisting. My group consist of different age groups and weight so it was extremely difficult for the elderly people with knee and hip issues to get on and off the ferry. The crew stated it was because of low tide however they should be better prepared for that since they make these tours constant. Overall it was a pleasant and fun day. Besides the ferry and reduce time it was nice. I would have put five stars but the ferry was an issue for my family.

The dolphin encounter lasted about 15 minutes. Not very good value for $165. I did the same encounter about 10 years ago and it lasted an hour (it included watching an eco video about the dolphins) - so they have definitely cut back to squeeze in more tourists. Also I have done the same trip in Ocho Rios Jamaica and it was way better.
The boat left Nassau at 8.00am and takes 1/2 hour to get to Blue Lagoon Island. On the way back they ask you meet on the dock for 11.30am as the boat leaves at 12.00pm. So basically you only get 3 hours on the island. Also they start serving lunch around 10.30am which is too early.
The island itself is amazing and stunningly beautiful. But overall the excursion is too short and not good value for money.

We signed up for the dolphin encounter through a cruise line with the pretense of spending the entire day at Blue Lagoon (Leaving the dock at 9:00 A.M.) but when we received our tickets, our meeting time on the cruise dock was 12:30 P.M. and the actual ferry boat departure was 1:15. We arrived at Blue Lagoon just in time for our 2:00 dolphin encounter where they sat two groups on each platform. We watched the first group and were totally impressed with how the dolphins interreacted with them. When it was our turn, the actual interaction was cut short, and did not have the entire experience. This was due to the fact that the 3:00 group was waiting and we were rushed off the platform. This left us with only an hour to explore the island before our ferry left the lagoon. We opted to get on the ferry for a different cruise ship that left at 3:15 seeing that it would take about 45 minutes to get back to our ship. We had an early dinner time and if we left at the lagoon at 4:15, we would have missed our seating at dinner. As another reviewer stated, "It was herding cattle". If we had arrived at Blue Lagoon around 10:00, it would have been a better experience.

We paid for an excursion through a cruise. The company responsible for this excursion showed little to no organization or leadership. 4 ships in port and people were going every which way. Late leaving on ferry to island. Lunch was to be provided which we paid for. In advance. You could have a hot dog or hamburger, few fries and a cup of drink. Leaving the island lines were long for the ferry and disorganized without designated lines or anyone really in charge. Only one dock being used. Late leaving island back to port. Arrived at port to find only one dock being used and our ferry was 4th in line meaning we would make our ship late leaving port. As we exited ferry a port officer was looking at all picture IDs slowing* the process more. Why check them at this point? Steps from ferry to dock was unsafe due to distance of step up causing many to have difficulty due to mobility. Our ship was late leaving port due to this unorganized company. We will stay on ship in future to avoid all this unnecessary chaos.

Hi LAD0306. Our buffet is quite extensive and includes a guests choice of a hamburger, hotdog, veggie burger or chicken burger. You also get barbecue chicken, peas and rice, french fries, green salad, plantain and a variety of other salads and sides. Guests would have been notified on island if there was change in departure time. Additionally, we are in constant communication with the cruise lines in order to ensure that all guests are returned to the ship. Unfortunately we do not control the port and are at the mercy of port security when it comes to returning our guests to the ship. To that note, we also do not control the steps there either. Thank you for visiting Blue Lagoon Island.

Blue lagoon dolphins encounter was a great time. The dolphins seemed to be treated well and we observed them being checked by staff for scrapes and signs of illness. Assistant trainer was good and the time of experience was worth the cost. Unfortunately we did not know they don’t take AmEx for photos - the photo assistant wrote down our pic numbers and gave us a card with the website but we have yet to get response to our inquiry. Beach was beautiful. Food. So so

We have been to Blue Lagoon on a Celebrity Cruises shore excursion pre-Covid with our children, and had an excellent time doing one of the dolphin swim encounters, with the foot push - it was great, and we enjoyed all aspects of our day there. So when we returned to Nassau last week, we did not want to go back to Blue Lagoon because we’d already been there and had had a great time - we did not feel the need to swim again with the dolphins. So, we booked the excursion titled, “Local Island Tour with Food Sampling and Beach Day”. Nowhere in the description did the words “Blue Lagoon” appear. A long story short, but much to our chagrin, this excursion was held at Blue Lagoon! There is nothing about Blue Lagoon that speaks to a “local island tour” though technically, yes, it’s an island, and sure, it’s local!!?? This could have been artfully pulled off if the location of the tour had been made transparent and it hadn’t been meant to sound like something authentic, genuine - instead it felt like a bait and switch. The main problem though, is how Blue Lagoon is handling covid. Their covid policies are what ruined this day for us, not the description of the excursion.

The enjoyment we experienced years back when we went with our kids, well, that’s simply not possible under the current Blue Lagoon bizarre restrictions which basically hold the guests captive. There is no wandering around the island on your own and experiencing the various coves. Nope. You are herded into your own group - resort guests or cruise ship guests. When we were there, there were 4 ships in port, so there were 5 segregated groups. We all wore different colored wrist bands and were never to co-mingle. Every beach on the island was cordoned off, and each of the wrist band groups is assigned to their own cordoned off beach. You arrive at the Blue Lagoon on your own cruise ship specific ferry and are herded en masse to your particular roped off beach. Two guests in our group accidentally walked a different way when we were being led to our wrist band coded pen, and we all had to stop with our leader yelling loudly to get the two people to rejoin us before we could proceed.

We were led to our beach, told to stay there, to listen for the loud speaker for our particular programs to be called out. This sideshow was repeated for each of the four cruise ships, for the resort guests, so that we all remained separate but at the same time, each ship was having the same programs, but in rotation, so that everyone got to do whatever they’d signed up for, but we couldn’t mix. So for instance, all of those that had signed up for the so called “Local Island Tour with Food Sampling and Beach Day” from each different ship, all did that at different times, so that we didn’t mix. Same for the various dolphin programs, for the nurse shark programs, for the sting ray programs and so on and so forth. The loud speaker was CONSTANTLY, and I mean constantly, booming loud directions: “All those with yellow wrist bands, meet at the (fill in the blank location) at 1pm for your (fill in the blank) program”.

It was like something from a movie about a stereotypically bad vacation experience, something that was supposed to be authentic, being anything but authentic. Saying that it was like a Disney park, would be doing Disney a grave disservice. This was like nothing I’ve ever experienced, the herding of people, moving them from place to place, checking of wrist band colors, no freedom to stop and leave. I don’t know how the science of covid became so misunderstood, that the only way Blue Lagoon is allowed to operate is by herding and segregating their guests, holding them captive. Because captive we were. We could not wander around nor could we leave the island before our assigned time as designated by the color of our wristband! Many of us were determined to leave soon after we got there, hating the feeling of being held captive and segregated, going to management and demanding to leave. But we were told that nope, we had to stay - we could only leave with the group with which we came - we had to leave with the guests from our cruise ship - we were not allowed to leave on a ferry containing guests from any other cruise ship - we could only leave on the ferry that carried our same cruise ship passengers. This is because of the bubble concept of covid. This is RIDICULOUS, ABSURD, NOT BASED ON BEST PRACTICES in any regard. And this is especially ludicrous because for nearly 30 minutes, we were side by side at the pier with another ship’s passengers, as their ferry was loading at the same time our ferry was loading. So they aren’t following their own rules when it’s not convenient. Whoever is making Blue Lagoon follow this segregationist policy - Blue Lagoon itself?? Cruise companies?? The Bahamian government?? Well, don’t go here until this ridiculous policy is lifted by whoever imposed it.

I have to say that the staff that worked with us were helpful, kind, knowledgeable. They are running their oddly segregated ship in a tight manner - they have their hands on the wheel for sure, even though I think it's a misguided path! Again, whoever has set these covid rules, this has to stop.
Our guide took us around to see the dolphins, nurse sharks, sting rays - and all of the animals seemed extremely well cared for and what do I know, but they indeed seemed happy - we saw them all being fed, we were lucky to be there at the right times, and that was great to see.

Horrible for adults, this place is for kids. When tide in water is knee deep. When the tide goes out mid calf. We had a group of about 25 people from the cruise ship that wanted to go back to the ship and they wouldn’t take us back. You don’t get to swim with the dolphins just pet and let them give you a hug but no swimming. They were suppose to have a buffet for our group but they ran out of some of the food.
