          Excellent tour
Burlie was a wonderful tour guide. We had pre reserved her for the day. We wanted a private tour not on a tour bus and she took us exactly where we wanted and stopped where we wanted for the whole day. We went shopping, had lunch, went to the top of the mountain and then to the beach. We were never hurried and enjoyed a nice relaxing day. Would highly recommend using her service.

          Mountain Top
We hadn't booked anything in advance and were just going to roam. The staff of V.I. approached us and showed us several tour options that were way lower pricing than the cruise tours. We waited on a second bus due to some other tourists who insisted they were going to have ample seating. We were quickly ushered on to the bus(open air) and set out up the mountain, stopping several times to have photo ops of the beaches and the local floral. Mountaintop was an awesome view from the observation deck. The bazar type shopping had everything from magnets to clothing to island rums. I thought it was a great deal for 25.00 per person rather than the 75.00 per person offered off cruise line.

          Amazing Service
This was my second time using Scenic Tours and as in the first visit, Burlie's professional and friendly demeanour made our time on this beautiful island much more enjoyable. My sons commented on how willing she was to meet all of our requests and how she went out of her way to help us learn about her island. The service, the friendly conversations, the guided tour and the reasonable cost all make Scenic Tours a must use service when on the island.

          Thank you Burlie!!
We had never been to the virgin islands before but our friends had told us that we needed to do some sightseeing and that she was the best guide. We got in touch with her and made plans for her to pick us up and take us to the mountain top. She gave us facts about the things we were passing and where we were going. When we arrived she took pictures with us and let us take our time to walk around the obsvervation deck and the souvenir shop. Very accomodating and knowledgeable lady. She even made stops along the route so we could take photos. ***Don't listen to those reviewers who decided to jam themselves into a crowded vehicle. That is their fault, not Burlie's!!!

          V.I.SCENIC TOURS BY BURLIE MONTOUTE
WHEN you exit the ship you are greeted by this company of busses.the bus company controls all of them and the driver said that the v.i. gov. control the rate of $25,00 per person.I find this hard to believe, however if you wish to go on an island tour this is probably the only way.we were squeezed onto and open air bus which had seats made for 3 and she squeezed in4 2 of whom were obese.no seat belts and no air.it was unbearable..BURLIE began by going up a mt.where she pointed out the water co.,electric co.,the a 2 min.oversee of emerald beach.then a harrowing ride where she stopped to pick 1 hibiscus, and a few bay leaves to show us.we then reached the top where a flea mkt. had junk.there was a view of MAGENS bay.1/2 hour there and then it was to be the same down.my husband took Burlie aside and told her how awful this tour costing us $50.. for 2 really was. we had a tour in Puerto rico the day befor with chris and he was animated and terrific.when we told her this she said how many islands had we been to.i named 7 and she stopped.she then asked the 2 people who had the only air cond seats to chg. places with us because we were unhappy.we said absolutely not.she then had a fit and said this bus would not move until we did,so we moved.she then made ridiculing remarks all the way back about her new friends who were not happy with her.then others joined in to agree with us.our cruise on Holland America was amazing and she was the only black eye in the whole week.she parted by saying she wanted a HUGGGG!!!!!!I WANT A REFUND

We were traveling on Carnival Cruise lines and I booked with her in advance. Our cruise was an hour late into port because of weather and she had apparently just left us! When we got off the boat in St. Thomas there were two other ships in port, and even though I had reservations with her, we were left stranded and there were NO TOURS available. The port is crazy and chaotic with taxi drivers everywhere yelling and honking and law enforcement people "helping". We ended up asking a taxi driver to give us a tour, he said it would cost $25, but he was just dropping people off at their locations, not giving us a tour, and he wouldn't wait for us if we wanted to go down to the beach. We had a miserable time in St. Thomas and I blame VI Scenic tours! I would have booked with someone else if I had known she wouldn't wait for our boat to dock!

We were a family of 16 on a cruise through the Caribbean and did not want to pay the high prices for cruise sponsored shore excursions and decided to look for local companies instead. We booked a private tour and Burlie was fantastic! She arrived at the pier to pick us up with her safari van (the back seats about 12 and the front seats up to six). There was a cooler of beverages waiting for us that we could take to the beach. She was there bright and early and dropped us off right before we had to board. She knows all the best scenic spots in St. Thomas and based the itinerary on things we wanted to see. She was so kind and also very knowledgeable. Two members of our group were delayed because of a minor medical issue and visit to the nurse's station on the ship and Burlie made a separate trip after dropping the first group off, to pick them up. I would recommend this over the tours provided by the ship if you are a big group. The beach Burlie took us to had all the watersports we had requested (snorkeling, kayaking, and jetskis).

We were in St Thomas on May 17th with the Carnival Victory and had booked a tour with VI Scenic tours, Burlie met us at 9am and took us to the attactions that we wanted to see then down to Magan's bay it was awesome there were only 5 of us and it was great not having to deal with 50 other cruise guests. Burlie was very knowledgable and gave us insights to the island that we have not had on other tours it's also great value for money!

We pre-booked with Burlie for a tour.. She met us when when we got off the boat at 9am. At $30.00 a person we thought it was a great value..She took us to the shopping area for a bit then on to see various sights & picture taking.. Very nice tour with a lot of information about the area & gladly answered any of our questions.. She let us out at Emerald Beach for a short time then picked us up & took us back to the boat. She also offered us drinks. We Loved this beach..& Burlie was an awesome tour guide for St Thomas. Check out her website & contact her the next time you visit St Thomas.

For the past 16 years we have gone on a Caribbean cruise every January to escape the cold weather. Many of the cruises out of Florida stop in St Thomas so we have been there many times. We always tour with Burlie because her tour allows us to do it all: sightsee, shop and get in some beach time. I am always with a large group and this makes everyone happy! Because of the size of our group we always make advance reservations and usually have a private tour. Burlie has always been prompt in her email correspondence and always meets us right where the ship docks and returns us right to the ship at the end of the tour. She has taken us to several beaches and our favorite is probably Coki Beach because we like to snorkel and the water is crystal clear. We always have a good time with Burlie and enjoy seeing her lovely island home. Her prices are very reasonable especially when compared to what the cruise ships charge for similar shore excursions. Highly recommended.
Note: Her truck is always spotless and appears to be well-maintained. It is open-air with space for just a few people inside the air-conditioned cab. This has never been a problem for us and this is what you should expect for most tours in the V.I. I mention this only because some reviewers complained about the lack of air conditioning.

My wife and I stepped off the cruise ship and were met by Burlie, who offered us an afternoon tour of St.Thomas. We joined another couple, which reduced the cost to us. A wonderful tour was provided with clear commentary along the way. Burlie is a kind person who will tailor the tour to suit your requirements. We were lucky to have met her, but perhaps it would be best to make an advance booking.

2018 was the year of our 25th wedding anniversary, Stephenie and I, and she had never sailed on a cruise. So that was our choice for the year's vacation – sailing the Caribbean. St. Thomas was a specially chosen port of call.

After A LOT of online research and investigation, and because we dislike the sardine-can ambience of packaged tours, we decided to reserve a private tour with VI Scenic Tours and Burlie Mantoute.
Disembarkation can be a little confusing so it took us a few moments to find each other, but hey, that's what cell phones are for.

Shopping is not a priority for us, so we skipped it – I've never understood people who spend $2,000 on a cruise so they can save $20 in a duty free shop. Instead, Burlie drove us to the old town with its pirate history and fascinating buildings and streets with Danish names. We walked down Creque's Alley (although it's not called that any more) made famous back in the hippie 1960s by The Mamas And The Papas.

At our request and giving her free rein, Burley took us all over the island ... including just a few of the touristy hot spots, but mostly instead to captivating places that she knows and other tours don't. Each one accompanied by an enthralling history, viewed through a prism that is uniquely Burlie.

Magen's Bay, for example, not too long ago with unspoiled beaches and clear turquoise water that almost hurt your eyes, has been coarsened by development and too many tourists. Burlie showed us a little-known beach with clear sparkling water, fully its equal. The Freedom Garden. The Three Queens Fountain (in 1878 Queen Mary, Queen Agnes and Queen Josiah led a successful fight against the Danish Government for better working conditions and higher pay. Bet you didn’t know that. There's a monument).

On the way we passed radio station (WSTA 1340 AM) which, she said, held the entire island together during Hurricane Maria ... it's perhaps not the most earth-shattering story in the world, but with Burlie telling it, you can't stop listening.

I'll bet that on that day we experienced more of that island's unique character and history than any other cruise passenger on any other tour.

She told us, "There is nothing I love more than showing my island off to people who truly want to see it."

If you're one of those people, Burlie MUST be your guide.

Visit her website. Look at the lots of different tours she offers, some for groups of various sizes, some for couples. Most have themes, but some – like ours – are treasures of spontaneity.

In all of the city of Charlotte Amalie, on the Caribbean island of St Thomas, in the United States Virgin Islands, you cannot find a better, more personable, kinder or more entertaining guide.

My friends and I took a tour of St Thomas, it was a waste of money. $25.00 plus tip. Our tour guide Thomas was very nice, personable, but the tour itself was boring and not much to see. We stopped at some large shopping sight where they are known for their large banana daiquiris. Who cares, I wanted to see more of the history of the island. It was very limiting. We did not get to see the gardens which should be included. We stopped at one of the resorts and it was disgusting, the smell of sewage! Stayed for about an hour, an hour for what? to swim? That is not what I had in mind for an island tour. You are better off as we did the day before to do the walking tour of the historic building and doing the 99 steps tour for free. This bus tour is really for the short cruise ship day the travelers have to see the island. I would not recommend this tour. Disappointing.
