- kellycJ7063HD0 contributionsExcellent timeAbsolutely best crew Captain Nate, Whitney and Breeze were fantastic. I have been to the USVirgin Islands several times without doing a snorkel excursion. Never again I will book at least one maybe more on next trip. I recommend this group!! On an unfortunate note the person working at the check in store (Priscilla) was the only unpleasant person I have encountered in the entire week. My friend was having a hard checking in and Priscilla made it clear it wasn’t something she was willing to deal with. Thankfully I had so many great experiences that I knew she was not reflective of the amazing people on the island.Written February 5, 2025

- L8382ACleslieg0 contributionsFantastic crew and great snorkeling! We were a little concerned about the seas being rough due to the windy conditions. But we were pleasantly surprised! The catamaran was very smooth. Captain Big Tuna and his crew were fantastic - entertaining, informative and attentive. We saw lots of different types of fish at the first stop with some unique coral beds. We hit the jackpot at our 2nd stop and saw both turtles and a nurse shark! Lunch was delicious and beautifully presented. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend!Written February 2, 2025

Both the Captain the and the mate were so much fun. They focused on making sure that everyone was comfortable and had the best time possible. The food was Okay, but the drinks were amazing. They also made virgin drinks for the kids that were as good as or better than the adult drinks. The 3 snorkeling sites we stopped at were picture perfect. We saw rays, octopus, sea turtles, and so many beautiful tropical fish. Just amazing.
We brought our own gear, but they have the standard mask & snorkel. I would recommend just purchasing a full face mask snorkel on amazon for less than $35 and bring it with. These types are going to be so much better than what any of the snorkel co. are going to give you. Lastly, get to the dock early! You definitely want a seat near the captain; its a better ride and easier to see more info.

We had so much fun on the Snorkel tour, we ended up booking a second trip in the same week! Captain Stewart, Dillon, and Josh were an amazing crew who were helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable! They were the best! They made each person on the boat feel comfortable, safe, and well taken care of. Only having snorkeled a few times before, this was by far the best experience I have ever had. The locations were gorgeous and we saw lots of neat animals including turtles, squid, rays, octopus, tons of fish and more! The timing of the day was well excecuted, with a ride over to St. John with a light breakfast, an hour snorkeling at the first beatiful location, a delicious and filling lunch, open bar (The painkillers are so good!), and two more stunning locations each with about 45-60 minutes of snorkeling per location. Something neat about the trip is that they do not necessarily go to the same 3 spots each time, pending weather and water conditions. Since we went with two different trips we were able to see several different spots! My mom and I had a fanastic time both times and would HIGHLY reccomend to anyone traveling to St. Thomas!

To all the non swimmers out there, do this snorkeling cruise. You will not be disappointed.
We went on the Breakaway Charter to St. John today and the experience was fantastic. I do not know how to swim and so I had so many concerns about this trip. The lady who I spoke over the phone to book this trip was so kind and reassured me that I did not have to swim, just float on the water. A big shout out to Caleb on the boat who made some good painkillers, and set up a wonderful breakfast and lunch for us but most importantly he reassured me of my personal safety and made me feel really comfortable with the water. Captain Nate was entertaining, full of knowledge about the islands but most importantly knew the best spots for snorkeling. He made sure we were safe. We stopped at 3 places and each experience surpassed the previous one. By the end of the day I was able to enjoy this experience thoroughly with my family. And I can finally say I enjoyed every bit of snorkeling . What a beautiful world it was below these waters! Thank you Captain Nate and Caleb for a memorable experience.

It is a good cruise who does it the first time.
We took two cruises this week on this catamaran with captain Danny Boy.
This is not our first cruise of this type.
It is always wonderful to spend time on a boat on a sunny day.
Snorkling- stopped in two spots that that had different sea life. Both places had 🐢.
Food- store defrosted shrimp, packaged salad and ham, dessert.
Drinks- painkillers if you could call it that way on this boat, beer and hard liquor.
Sunset cruise: nice views and pictures, goats on an island, warm flat Prosecco, finger food.
During both cruises we were strongly suggested to leave 20% tip p.p.
Next time we will look for a different company with a smaller boat, better food and better service.

My wife and I took the snorkel experience and must say we completely enjoyed the experience. Although my wife couldn't swim the crew did their best to make her comfortable enough to jump in the water and conquer her fear. The food was very enjoyable and the crew was very attentive. Cpt Nate was not only great as a leader but a book of knowledge about the history of the islands we sailed by.
Pro:
Fantastic experience, got to see a few Coral reefs and some of the other guest got to see some turtles (I didn't, I was more concerned for my wife for that leg of the trip)
The crew was great and Capt Nate cutting off the engine to spill some island knowledge was very enjoyable
The food spread was fantastic.
Cons:
If you've snorkeled before try bringing your own set if possible. I had to try on several head set before I got one that didn't leak in to my nose.
Obviously it's a ocean experience, be ready for possible strong currents (the crew was helpful in warning us about this.
If you get sea sick please take the captains advice and take dromamine (probably spelled that wrong)
Overall I would recommend this experience for everyone.

We HIGHLY recommend this excursion! The captain and her mate took us to the destination places for snorkeling, and along the way, we were served a light breakfast (muffins, fruit, water, pop, oj, etc) and the captain would explain some of the sites we were passing. Once we reached our destination, we snorkeled for about 45 mins, boarded again, and was served our lunch (delicious) and cocktails. Once lunch was done, we ventured to two different locations and repeated the events, minus the lunch. It was a beautiful day on the water, and everyone enjoyed themselves. We definitely will repeat this when we visit again. We saw many things like sea turtles, sting rays, and so many beautiful fish! We recommend purchasing your own snorkeling mask from Amazon. We brought ours but didn't use it until the last stop. It was much easier! If you are like me and maybe not the most awesome swimmer, use the noodle they provide. It made all the difference for me! One last specific, this excursion departs from Margaritaville, so if you are staying there, it is so easy!

Can't recommend this adventure more. Captain Stewart and her first mate John provide a wonderful experience from start to finish. Light breakfast, surprising delicious assortment for lunch, and afternoon snack. Large assortment of non-alcoholic drinks in the morning and even larger variety after first, of three, snorkeling stops is over and the alcohol comes out. John's painkiller is best around. Stewart is knowledgeable, skilled, and adds an interpersonal touch that can't be beat. Group I went out with were great, listened to the rules, came back to boat on time, all making for a stress free day on the water. This was my second time out with this crew and will definitely go again when visiting Saint Thomas!! Each tour goes to different beaches based on Stewart's daily assessments.

Captain Nate was extremely entertaining on this trip as well as his very friendly and helpful assistants Whitney and Dave. I LOVED this snorkeling excursion as I got to see sea turtles swimming and eating grass and colorful fish around some of the most beautiful back drops and reefs. The food provided was excellent and I highly recommend this experience. SO FUN!

We had an absolutely great day! Captain Nate and his crew members (Dillon & Thomas) didn't miss a beat and took wonderful care of us. They fed us well, made sure we were never thirsty (with the most yummy painkillers we had on the island yet) and brought us to excellent snorkel sites. Captain Nate is so much fun & a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and you felt safe & comfortable in his hands. Book it now! You won't regret it. We couldn't last any longer in the sun when it came time to say goodbye but it was bittersweet because we didn't want the day to end.

We booked our snorkel tour with Breakaway Tours / New Horizons and the trip exceeded our expectations . . . Captain Stewart and 1st Mate Quincy did an outstanding job insuring that all the guest were well informed, gear up and ready to hit the water in the beautiful waters surrounding St John . . . There were a couple of people that were not experienced swimmers and Quincy assisted and made sure that got the full experience . . . The breakfast, lunch and snack were just right to energize us for the activities . . . Beverages poured freely to quince your thirst and set the mood . . . We are avid boaters and understand the efforts that go into pleasing a diverse group and that they did . . . If you want to see St John from the water the way these islands were discovered schedule this tour . . .👍👍👍👍👍

From St. Thomas. The boat will pick you up from either the Sapphire or Margaritaville resort, goes over to several spots around St. John, and then back to the resorts.
