They never picked us back up from the beach. We needed to hire a taxi to get us back to our cruise ship.
I’m not one to leave bad reviews. In fact, when I read 1 star reviews I think, “They must be complaining to complain” but in this case, I wish I had listened to the other reviewers. First off, I was in St Thomas on a cruise ship so I had a very strict schedule that had to be kept and it all started off ok. I booked through Viator and paid in advance. I got a confirmation text the day before, and an email the morning of the tour. Then things started to go sideways. We were supposed to meet at 9:30. There were no signs or busses that had the name of the tour on it. I texted, no response. At 9:45, I saw a guy walking through the parking lot holding a Manila file (the kind you keep in a filing cabinet) with “Godfrey Tours” handwritten on it in a ball point pen. I only saw it because I had just happened to glance in the direction at the exact moment. A second later and I would have missed him. We get to the bus (which was not super close and parked between other busses that were empty) and they said we were still waiting for 2 more people. We waited until 10 then left without adding anyone else to the tour. We went to downtown Charlotte Amalie and had 45 minutes to walk around since we were a half hour late getting started. We all loaded back up (with 4 extra people) and people started getting upset…they had apparently offered free WiFi on the bus (which I didn’t particularly care about but a few others did) and the boss said there was no WiFi. Then he said there was, then there wasn’t. He was very argumentative and defensive. Finally I said, “can we just go? It’s already 11:15 and we’re almost an hour behind schedule.” 15 minutes later we left for the Top of the Mountain. Our tour guide (there were 2 busses) was very nice but we couldn’t really hear him…he talked too fast and it wasn’t loud enough. When we got to the Top of the Mountain, there was a 15 minute “history” of the place that the other guide was very adamant that we pay close attention to. I wandered off to take pictures and he gave me a little bit of an attitude about it. We had about 20 minutes there and then we met at the busses to go to the beach. Our entire bus wanted to go to Sapphire Beach and at this point we were looking at only getting about 1.5 hours of beach time so we wanted to get there asap. I asked the guide how this worked…could we just go straight to Sapphire Beach, how far was it from where we were, how far was the beach from the cruise terminal? He said we could go straight there and that it was 25 minutes from our current location and About 25 minutes from the terminal. I told him we HAD to leave the beach by 3:15 to make it back to the ship in time and he said “what time does it leave?” I said “it doesn’t matter when it leaves, we need to be back by 3:45” (all aboard was 4:00 and it was about a 10-15 minute walk from the drop off to the ship). He tried arguing with me about what time we had to leave the beach and the rest of the bus stood up and said “no, we need to leave by 3:15”! So, we ended up stopping at a few places, one was nice…we got some great pictures, the other was an obvious tourist trap. Just some people in a parking lot selling clothes and trinkets. We were there for almost 20 minutes. We got to the beach and it was glorious! Beautiful! But the driver dropped us off and said he’d be back by 3:00. Well, he wasn’t. I texted, I called, NO response. Another tour guide who we had seen at the beginning of the day told us that this tour company was ALWAYS late and they were always disorganized. We ended up having to take a taxi from the beach back to the ship at 3:15. Our driver was still nowhere to be seen. We made it back with plenty of time but we shouldn’t have had to hire someone else to finish the job. Do NOT book with Godfrey Tours! Tim Tours was highly recommended by other cruisers we talked to.

        Fun Day adventure
Fun Day of exploring the island. We went on the first day of our trip to get a overview of the island and had a good time. The driver/guide did an excellent job.

Won’t Get a Better Tour for Your Money!
We loved our tour of St. Thomas and learning all about the island and the history from Godfrey. The pics we got were amazing and we got to shop for some great souvenirs to take home to our family as well! We even got some drinks and a snack, too. Great price for a great tour. In my opinion, best one available for the money.

St Thomas Shop, See & Swim with Godfrey Tours.
We booked this tour for our Carnival Venezia cruise stop on 4/18/24, in St Thomas. The Shop, See & Splash Tour and the instructions for meet up was to go to Gate 3 (It was closed) so we went to the only one open, gate 4. Asked around and was told to wait under the umbrellas at the tables and Mr Thenford Godfrey would meet us. We waited about 30 min. So I called him and he was on the way to meet us. Sure enough after a slow start we had a great time. Went into town to shop 1 1/2hrs, Then off to MTN Top for a lil bit. Amazing down Island views, The Banana Daqueri was delicious! Off to the next couple stops for Island view Pics. Mr Godfrey was a fountain of Knowledge, information, facts and dates of St Thomas history he shared along the way. Our full Safari Bus decided to Go to Coki Beach / Coral World so that is where we stopped for 2 hrs Beach & swimming. Or if you'd like he would take you back to the ship if you don't want to swim, and come back for the swimmers. Beautiful Beach and views then Back to the ship in plenty of time.

They cancelled my trip with no explanation
They cancelled my trip without telling me why! When I went to reschedule, the entire month is now blocked off. I would have liked to have had some explanation as to why the trip was cancelled. I’ve taken this tour twice before and the last time I was on the island in December 2023, he changed my date for tour because he said he needed his brakes fixed, but the next day we toured with a larger group and the brakes were still squeaking.

        There are better options
Late start, inaccurate meeting point, no answer to phone call all caused unnecessary anxiety. Godfrey is a good person, but trying to please all nearly made us miss our sail away. If you want to shop, take a $6 cab ride to town. First 2 hours was largely a waste of time. Mountain Top is worth the trip to see the views.

THE WORST TOUR I HAVE EVER BEEN ON!
This was by far the worst tour we have ever been on in our travels over 20 years. First, the driver reached our pick up point late, but had the audacity to argue that he was not late. We asked him about what time the tour was likely to end, as we had to get back on our cruise ship. His response was that it was impossible to know even a ballpark time as the company had multiple pick ups planned and not enough guides and buses to accommodate them. At our first stop, after we came back to our vehicle, the driver told us that our vehicle had to go and pick up other guests, so we had to now be transferred to another vehicle. When a couple of fellow passengers asked about why this was not planned better, the driver flatly told them that if they were not happy, then we could just leave the bus. After this the driver started shouting at the passengers and fighting with them. He then abandoned five of us (two parties) in downtown St Thomas. He asked us to find our own way back to the cruise ship. The driver has no etiquette; no manners at all. The way he spoke to customers was a disaster. I hope this company is blacklisted on Viator & TripAdvisor. CHOOSE ANY OTHER OPERATOR EXCEPT THIS ONE!

        Great views and great food.
We stayed at Limetree resort on St. Thomas Island. Excellent accommodations. There is a restaurant there called Lanai, which is open to the public. It has awesome ocean views, and wonderful food, especially the Shrimp burger sliders with Corn & Black bean salad.

No at all what we expected!
Our driver was an hour late picking us up. He arrived in a pickup truck with open air benches in the back. In the tour details the transportation was referred to as a "BUS" with Wi-Fi included. There was no wi-fi and no bus, meaning there was no air conditioning in the humid mid-80 degree temps. The driver immediately made excuses that there were four cruise ships in port and his company didn't have enough vehicles or drivers. (But they knew how many tours they had sold!) He made the excuse that ALL stores were out of ice, so he couldn't chill the drinks, which were included in our tour cost. We were assigned seats on the benches with 5 and 6 full-grown adults crammed into the width of a single pickup truck. There was no air flow, unless you were lucky to be assigned a seat on one of the outer edges- I was not! When a group of 9 (who had booked less than 24 hours before the tour) complained that they also expected an air conditioned, wi-fi equipped bus, a private van was brought in for them. Our party of just two was offered no such proper accommodations to match our expectations. The heat, sweat, and B.O. from the hoard of people crammed together gave me a headache and nausea, which made enjoying any element of the sights difficult. Climbing in and out of the benches from my assigned row just above the rear axil proved difficult as our row had only a 4" platform (just big enough for your toes to rest) above the rear tire for accessing our seats. I'm slightly past middle age and not limber enough to make this maneuver easily, both up or down. When other passengers, who were also not happy with the deception of the tour advertising, in light of the reality of what was provided, began saying they were not going to tip the driver, I stated that it wasn't the driver's fault, but that of a deceptive company advertisement. Then we learned our driver was Godfrey--company owner! I do not recommend this company or tour. Many of the highlights mentioned that the tour will include were merely drive-by, with no stop or opportunity for photos, and Godfrey was most intent on telling us about every hurricane and destruction the island has encountered, instead of history we would have found more interesting as visitors to the virgin islands. One stop was simply to overlook a destroyed golf course that nature had reclaimed. You couldn't even tell it had been a golf course, just a patch of wild-looking jungle. Not worth the money or worth losing the whole day which could have been spent in many more enjoyable ways with an experience that matched our expectations.

        Whoops, our mistake , corrected.
I am writing to review the customer service group. We had a tour scheduled and had some time changes in our time. We had to cancel the morning of our tour. This was outside of the 48 hour requirement. Without requesting it, the customer service group contacted us, worked with us and offered multiple options to avoid losing our payment. I for one will recommend and attempt to use them based solely on this customer service experience.

In-depth and educational tour of St. Thomas.
We booked for the 8:30am and were waiting at the agreed location by 8:00am. There was a mix up on their end and they never came. We ended up taking the 11:00 instead. The tour itself was very educational, with many stops around the island to point out landmarks, remains of hurricane devastations, and stops for spectacular views. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of local insights. If you do book the trip, note that it may be longer than the 3-4 hours and there are more than 3 stops (there are many).

Mr Godfrey gives a wonderful tour of the island! Due to COVID, the cruise ships aren't running and I was fortunate enough to experience this tour as a private tour, I was the only person aboard! I had saved all my shopping time for this excursion so I enjoyed all the time given for shopping; wished I had one more hour, but off in the bus we went up the mountain for a very informative tour of the area. Godfrey knows a lot about the area and its rich history. He's a very safe driver, the bus is open air style and very comfortable, he had plenty of drinks for me and offered them often. Mountain top was great and he even helped me snap some pics for myself since I was solo. Gave me an extra few minutes at Mountain top to shop, he could tell I was really excited to buy gifts for my friends and family; that was very nice of him.
When I come back to St Thomas, I will for sure take another Godfrey Tour... nice break from walking, and a great way to learn about St Thomas.

So happy I booked this tour! I was traveling alone on St Thomas for a few days, had already booked a snorkel trip for another day, and wanted an affordable way to sightsee around the island and learn some of its history.
For the first stop in Charlotte Amalie, we got time to browse the downtown shops and food stalls. I stopped by the local synagogue, where they happened to be giving a tour. I spent about half my time there and the rest picking up souvenirs and snacks.
After that we stopped at Mountain Top, where the guide pointed out sights, recounted how the area had developed, and explained some facts of life on the island (e.g. how they use cisterns for drinking water, or how tax codes have affected property owners). I tried the famous banana daiquiri, shopped for some more souvenirs, and enjoyed the view.
After that, we visited a few more stunning lookout points, with the guide highlighting points of interest along the way. It was really eye-opening to see how much of the island had been devastated by the hurricanes in 2017. We also stopped at a couple beaches, with the option to get off and explore, before being dropped off at our hotels.
I thought the tour did a great job of mixing classic touristy stuff with cultural/historical context. I absolutely loved taking in views from the open-air taxi. Plus, the tour was a super good deal - I think just to take a taxi to Charlotte Amalie from where I was staying in the East End would have cost around $40 roundtrip. Highly recommend booking this tour to explore the island!

The tour operator, Godfrey, was nice and very knowledgeable. However, there were 5 cruise ships in port the day we took the tour. All the extra traffic meant that we spent more time at the "shopping" location at the beginning of the tour because Godfrey had to go get a large group from another ship. We aren't big shoppers and really booked the tour so we could see St. Thomas. Our tour finished an hour after we expected, but we did not miss ship departure time. The tour bus is open air - which is nice. However, my husband is 6 feet tall and had to duck down to be able to see the "sights" and he was sitting on the outside of the bus. One suggestion for Godfrey: when customers make a complaint about something, just apologize and let it go. Don't argue with the customers and imply that we asked you not to go back for the other people in the group - just accept that someone had a complaint. Overall, I would recommend this tour. None of the delays, etc. were the fault of the tour operator.

I booked this tour because I wanted to get a look at St. Thomas, but most of the tour was spent on shopping, first in Charlotte Amalie, where the streets were lined with jewelry shops and then on top of a mountain in a shop bursting with trinkets, tee shirts, etc. Finally finished with shopping, we drove to a beach where half of the bus got off to go for a swim. Thankfully, the tour guide showed the rest of us some of the residential areas on the island before taking us back to our ships. The best part of the tour was a banana daiquiri my husband purchased at the shop on the mountaintop.

This was such a fun and informative tour. We learned so much about St. Thomas and saw so many beautiful things. There was time to take pictures and time for shopping. The tour guide was so accommodating for all of the people on the tour for time for drop off and pick up due to cruise ship times or hotels. We definitely enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it.

Tour was horrible! I would not recommend. I know there were 5 cruise ships at port that day and there's nothing that could be done about that. Issue we had is we were supposed to be back at our boat at 1:30 had other plans. At 2 pm we were still on the tour and he started talking about making more stops. We asked to be taken back to our ship, as did everyone else still on our bus and he did have the driver take us back. When the driver would speak we could not understand a thing he was saying. He had all different kinds of tours on one "bus" seemed very unorganized. I would definitely visit St. Thomas again, I would not use this tour again.

The guide was very knowledgeable about the area, but a sightseeing tour shouldn't consist of mostly destroyed homes and businesses. I feel for the people who lost their homes and/or livelihoods due to various storms, but not for 50% of a tour. Just my opinion.

Godfrey is very nice and thorough in the history of the islands and the places featured on his tour. He communicates with you before your tour and has a cool accent. Pricing is far for the experience and he tokes you all over the island from bay to bay, mountain to mountain. He will answer any question and suggest places to go. He will pick you up at your hotel and drop you any where you like. I suggest going to Megan's Bay, It's a very nice beach, secure and clean. They just ask for a $5 entry fee. Godfrey is very good tour guide, he offers drinks and picture taking. The Jeep was clean and the intercom was clear. He will even keep your bags safe while you hang on the beach. Great ride.

Godfrey himself was our tour guide for the day. He was very professional and knowledgeable. We learned lots about the history of St. Thomas and events that have shaped the island over the past several years. We stopped a few times for pictures, shopping and more information. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend if your cruise stops in St. Thomas for the day.

Our guide contacted us the night before to confirm pick-up details and arrived on time. The tour was amazing! Stopped for shopping, and many historical stops around the island along with a great, detailed explanation of sights and thugs we saw along the way. Highly recommend!! Snacks and drinks were appreciated and enjoyed!
