White Sands with Jake and Hugo
We were on an annual family trip with our children and their spouses and did a half day boat excursion on White Sands with Big Blue Collective and had the time of our lives!! Scheduling was super easy and the office was very responsive. Check in was easy and we were quickly introduced to our crew, Jake and Hugo!! Jake is a big history buff and knows so much out the Turks, Hugo was so friendly and was always looking for ways to make our day the best. The boat was stunning and had everything on board would need. We were taken to the reef for snorkeling and the spot Jake picked was amazing, the reef was vibrant and we all swam with a turtle for quite awhile. We then jumped back on board and Hugo was there with “nibbles” and drinks, whatever we wanted. We then headed to a beautiful sand bar beach and it was timed perfectly so it looked like we were just dropped in one middle of the turquoise waters! They both were amazing guides and as we headed back were all in agreement, best charter to date!! We are hoping to come back next year and will definitely see if Jake and Hugo are available for another exciting adventure.

        Great
Knowing that early November is not the busiest time of year on TCI, I fully expected that if this tour did not reach a certain enrollment threshold, it would be cancelled. Instead, Out we went-just me and the guide and it was great! I felt completely safe with my guide (whose name, I apologize, I've forgotten... but she was Canadian,) she made sure I saw everything I stated that I needed to see (sharks and turtles) in order to make my trip to the islands complete, and was quite pleasant to chat with. I will recommend Big Blue Collective to everyone who asks about my trip!

        Perfect Kayak Rental Experience
Our trip to Turks and Caicos coincided with Hurricane Oscar making landfall, so we had quite a bit of stormy weather. However, on the one clear day we were lucky to get, we jumped at the chance to go kayaking in the mangroves and visit Iguana Island. We rented our kayaks from Big Blue Collective, and they were fantastic! I had emailed them a few days before to confirm timing, as kayaking is dependent on the high tide. They were very responsive and helpful, so I highly recommend calling ahead for anyone planning to go. When we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and gave us a thorough briefing before we headed out on the water. My husband and I opted for a tandem kayak and spent about two hours paddling around the mangroves and exploring Iguana Island. We were able to spot some turtles and iguanas, which made the experience even more memorable. The water was a bit rough, which may have been due to the hurricane, but it just required a little more effort on our part. If you’re generally active, you shouldn’t have any issues handling it. Overall, we had a great experience renting from Big Blue Collective. Even though we did the excursion on our own, I can imagine their guided tours would be excellent too. Highly recommend them for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of Turks and Caicos!

Great half day trip with Gustavo and Zay
We did a half day private charter with Big Blue Collective on their 'Lil Chill 30ft power cat. Despite some rough water (highly unusual for T&C) our Captain and First Mate, Gustavo and Zay, made our trip absolutely unforgettable. We had beautiful snorkeling by Smith's Reef/Turtle Cove, spent some time at Noah's Arc for a drink and swam in the gorgeous, warm waters at sunset. I highly recommend Big Blue and Gustavo and Zay and we look forward to getting back for another visit. :)

Gustavo and Zay made our trip incredibly special. We had an awesome day on the water celebrating a birthday with friends. It was the perfect balance of beauty, sun and fun. Everything was super organized start to finish by Big Blue. Highly recommend.

        SUPER GREAT EXPERIENCE!
OMgosh! This excursion was incredible! Ally, our guide, was absolutely amazing! She was SO knowledgeable and super friendly. During our outing, we saw two stingrays, many seaturtles, and seven sharks (harmless--baby lemon and adult nurse). We did let a little rain put a damper on our fun! I would highly recommend!

Get up early for the Kayak Eco Tour! What a beautiful morning kayaking through the mangroves to see turtles, baby lemon sharks, stingrays, birds, and iguanas on "their" island. We highly recommend this peaceful excursion.

        A delightfully unique experience!
We booked a half day trip with Big Blue Collective that was so amazing! Captain Mark, G and Ally were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. We relaxed on the beautiful boat, swam, snorkeled and had so much fun on the seabob. They served snacks, drinks and delicious gourmet sandwiches that we thoroughly enjoyed. The crew went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and ensure that we had a great time! This was a delightful experience on a luxury Catamaran that was truly memorable. It was a highlight of our trip and exceeded our expectations! Thank you for a wonderful day! I highly recommend Big Blue Collective to anyone looking for a unique experience.

        Terrific
We had a wonderful excursion. Very rewarding. Ketlyn was a great guide, keeping the perfect pace, and giving us opportunities sit and pay attention to the ecosystem. We saw lots of turtles, barracuda, lemon sharks, etc. if you want time in nature exploring the mangroves while getting some exercise, I highly recommend it.

        I want my money back
Trip date: July 13th I’m sorry to say that I was very unimpressed with the BBC all day snorkel tour. Went last Wednesday with Hugo and Gustavo, very uninterested guides, and sometimes rude. I expected more for the money I paid. There were 3 snorkel stops with 9 guests. It felt a bit crowded for the size of the boat. The little kids spotted all the wildlife, including turtle and the rays. Never got to see the eel some of the guests saw and the dolphins spotted by the kids. The captains were on the their phones while at the wheel. The guides rarely engaged with the guests outside of the snorkeling ‘brief’ at each stops. The last stop was so boring, I think they were killing time snorkeling over rocky reefs that some guests wanted to go back to the boat. There was no guiding or spotting whatsoever! One of them spotted a lobster, literally that’s it. It was so sad. May be just the luck of the draw that day. If the company is reading this, pls contact your guests for feedback, I’d like my money back or an explanation of why my experience was so bad. To add to the injury, I was completely ignored while snack was served. Hugo literally walked past me multiple times to hand out the snack boxes. I had to ask for one, and the only interaction with me was ‘good?’ Throughout the day.

We ended up being the only ones on the tour and had a fabulous time with our guide, Hugo. He took his time to tell us about the animal life and plants. We saw turtles, sharks and some baby barracudas. All were friendly but in a I-won't-bite-you-kind of way. Highly recommended.

We had a great time on our Kayak tour of the mangroves. Our guide was informative and helpful as we kayaked. We saw many fish, a baby shark, conch and a turtle.

All Female Crew = An AMAZING Day!
Our group of 10 booked a North Shore tour on White Sands and we had such an amazing day. Captain Cole and her crew Allie and Amber were absolutely fantastic. They fed us all day long and made sure there was plenty to drink to keep us hydrated. We have booked other tours before, with other companies, but this was our favorite. All 3 women were so personable and attentive, not only to us but to the ocean environment. It was so refreshing to witness such care and concern. The vessel is immaculate and comfortable. Plenty of sun for those who desire it, and plenty of shade for those seeking respite from it. The typical snorkel spot was packed with boats, so Cole took us to a less popular spot that was equally as beautiful and far less traveled. We were fortunate enough to see three nurse sharks during our adventure, and it was truly magical. When we stopped at Pine Cay to anchor down for a few hours, eat lunch, and enjoy the beach, Jojo the dolphin came right up to the boat. He must've been there for a good 10 minutes or so, just swimming and playing with everyone. He left and came back a few minutes later with Bo, Sarge, and Scooter. The other 3 didn't get as close, but Jojo came right back to the boat as if to show off his family. It was incredible! This is a day that none of our group will ever forget.

Our guide Mitch was warm, knowledgeable, flexible, and kind
Whether you’ve never ocean kayaked before or are an old pro, Mitch will get you geared up in either a double or solo kayak (your choice) and off to explore the white and red mangroves across the way and learn how they protect the area against erosion and the lessons learned in other parts of the world where they’ve been removed for development. There you may see turtles, conchs, and pelicans. Then off to Iguana Island—a reserve for the native Iguana population—where you’ll learn about how they survive without a source of fresh water. In total, about 8km (5 miles) of paddling to work off some of that resort excess! Highly recommended.

This was my second great experience with big blue collective. We had some boat difficulties at first but they were swiftly taken care of and we were on our way. This was a good thing too because the delay meant we hd the opportunity to not only cross paths with a pair of humpback whales, but the crew (Brent and Charlie) made significant efforts to get those who were interested a chance to be in the water with them. I was lucky enough to get close enough to see one of the whales while in the water, but it wasn't interested in playing so we let them be on their way.
In June of 2019 Myself and two children (10 and 12yrs) went on the edge of the banks tour. The kids are string swimmers and we all had a great experience both in the water and out, again thanks to the crew. I would highly recommend big blue collective to anyone seeking adventure around the Turks and Caicos Islands.

We booked the Full Day Snorkel and Kayak Eco Tour. We had the best guides - Lee and Mike! This tour was amazing and when we looked back over our trip, this tour was the highlight of our entire week in Turks and Caicos. The tour guides were wonderful and extremely knowledgeable of the marine life, their normal habitats and behaviors. The eco tour was perfect because it was a small group (only 6) and was ideal for snorkeling and kayaking. Many of the other tour groups we encountered had 20-50 people per boat, and snorkeling in that kind of scenario is nearly impossible. It is obvious this company cares about the environment and wants their guests to experience the marine life with their same enthusiasm. We loved this tour so much, we went back the following afternoon and rented kayaks to explore more of this area. We easily kayaked over to Little Water Cay (Iguana Cay), and back through the mangroves. After we'd been shown where to look for wildlife by our guide - we were more alert and able to navigate the mangroves on our own. If we'd booked this tour on the first day of our trip, we would've gone back every day after! Below is a summary of our tour.

We spent the morning riding out to sea, watching for whales and dolphins. (This tour takes you much further and to less crowded areas of the reef than many of the other snorkel tours in Provo.) Once we reached the snorkel point, we snorkeled for around an hour, the waters were so clear, the snorkel gear was of incredible quality and the fish/reefs were more vivid than we could've imagined. After we snorkeled, we rode the boat to an incredible private beach, ate our delicious lunch and watched for dolphins. While hanging out here, we spotted a dolphin and were able to swim with 2 WILD dolphins. The dolphins interacted with us and made for a memorable trip. This was a bonus! In the afternoon, we hopped into kayaks and spent several hours kayaking through the mangroves, looking for small sharks, turtles, and a variety of other fish. I can't say enough wonderful things about this tour!

This was the best overall ocean snorkeling experience for several reasons. The boat/guides, Lee and Duncan, are amazing. They are passionate about the Turks and Caicos Islands and shared their viewpoints and experiences. I would say this is not particularly an excursion for a novice. I found it challenging as a senior, but also enjoyable. It is open, deep water and requires some degree of familiarity and confidence snorkeling. There were fish of various varieties, but nothing extraordinary. I've seen more at the Smith's and Bight Reefs. The water was beautiful and crystal clear compared with other snorkeling excursions elsewhere.
We did have the Great fortune to spot Whales!! It was awesome to "chase whales" and have them swim under our boat. Big Blue went above and beyond to make this an experience for everyone. It was a first for me and one that I know I won't forget.

We just returned home from an amazing trip to Provo and our time with Big Blue Collective were among the highlights of the trip!

We did the 4 hour snorkel eco tour at the beginning of our trip...we had maybe 12 others on the boat with us, and at each of the three stops, two of the crew got into the water with us, splitting us into smaller groups - it really felt like a personal experience. The guides do a great job showing us some of the fish/creatures that we may have otherwise missed. Felt incredibly safe and in good hands with Captain Cole and the crew (Janeel and Dino) and they did a tremendous job educating us on their beautiful reefs/wildlife. We even got a little visit from Jojo on our way back to the marina!

Later in the week we booked again with Big Blue for their 4 hour Eco Kayak tour through the mangroves and out to Little Water Cay (Iguana Island). Again, our guide (Ellie) (who is a marine biologist) did a great job of keeping us safe and also educating us on the wildlife, mangroves, etc. There are SO MANY sea turtles that hang out in the mangroves - it was unbelievable. Little Water Cay was a gorgeous location.

1000% recommend booking with this eco friendly tour group - outstanding work!

All I can say is wow! What an amazing experience. Captain Cole and her fantastic first mate were awesome guides and the boat was fantastic. While I know they cannot guarantee wild animal encounters, they sure did deliver! Within five minutes of leaving the dock we were playing in the water with the locally known wild dolphins Scooter, Jojo, and Bo. Next we headed out to hopefully spot a whale and within 10 minutes we came upon a pod of migrating humpbacks and followed them down the coast. This was made possible by the experience of the captain knowing exactly where to go for the best chance and how to handle the boat as to not disturb the whales- we were able to observe them closely for miles. This excursion was worth every penny and I would do it again in a heartbeat- can’t wait to return! Big Big Collective was by far the best and most professional charter experience we had while in the Turks.

This was an incredible highlight of our first trip to Turks & Caicos - I highly recommend a Snorkel Eco Tour with Jake, Lee & Dre, they were amazing! We set out to snorkel on the reefs but Jake & Lee soon spotted a whale not too far away....they were very careful in approaching it, making sure not to distress or frighten it. As we got closer they realized it was even more exciting - a mother and it's calf! I thought they were kidding when they said we would could get in the water and swim to see it....they cautioned us to be as quiet as possible and in we went with Lee guiding us carefully toward the whales. It truly took my breath away, it was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had to be so close to this enormous peaceful creature! For more excitement, as we finally made our way on the boat to the reef for snorkeling, we were joined by a pod of playful dolphins who joyfully jumped in and out of the wake from the boat...it was truly a day to remember!

Did the half-day snorkel tour and highly recommend it. We (30s couple) got probably 2.5 hours in the water. The guides (Dino and Mitch) were excellent and pointed out basically all of the cool stuff we saw: a shark, spiny lobsters, squid, turtles. And it was definitely a more intimate experience, only 7 passengers with two guides. Other boats passed us from the bigger companies (which of course our hotel had recommended) and there were dozens of people on board, and we turned to each other and said thank god we chose big blue. It seemed like a storm might have caused the guides to change course, but they handled it very well; instead of going to a second reef, we went to a turtle garden. We were happy not to get stuck in the storm! Great day!!

This company takes it's business very seriously, but at the same time make you spend an amazing time. They're environment oriented and everything they do aims to protect the corals, the animals and the ocean, and to teach you all about it. We had booked the eco paddle board tour and half day snorkeling. Our captain and guides were the best sharing their experience and knowledge and making us feel safe. Great experience! And the whole booking process (even with a change of date because weather condition) was perfect.

This was a wonderful experience for my family. My 18 and 15 year olds loved it. Hit 3 dive spots and saw so many wonderful fish and beautiful coral. They provided fruit, vegetable snacks and water. They were also knowledgeable and professional. My son was having trouble with his mask and the guide was very helpful and stayed with him so he was able to continue on with the rest of the group. It was also nice because the boat only had 12 people on it. It was the best part of our vacation.
