- GillB4740 contributionsComplete tour with Michael’s encyclopaedic knowledgeMy husband I haven’t visited Tobago before, Michael introduced us to this treasure trove of sight and sound. He was friendly, helpful with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the nature on the island. We had the opportunity to take loads of photos and enjoy a refreshing swim at the Argyle Waterfall. Little Tobago and the rainforest were also part of our tour besides a complete drive around the island noting loads of points of interest. To top it off, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Jemma’s tree house cafe which sits on a magnificent beach. Thanks Michael for an amazing day.Written June 11, 2024
- A1974EQdrews0 contributionsThe #1 way to experience TobagoDo yourself a favor and spend your time at Tobago with Michael. "I'd give him 12 stars if I could." - my wife Tobago is a small but beautiful island, you do not want to miss out on what it offers by failing to book the right excursion or by settling for a large group tour that will only scratch the surface. With Michael, you'll be in good hands and truly experience the best Tobago has to offer while learning so much about the wildlife and culture. When we visit again, I know who I'll be calling.Written April 22, 2024
- Robnmarydolphin0 contributionsAn All Day BirderMichael was prompt when collecting us for a trip to The Argyle Waterfall and then birding in the Main ridge rain forest reserve. His knowledge of all birds and general wildlife in the area is second to none. We found and heard birds which otherwise would never have detected.Written April 18, 2024
- theon8670 contributionsHighly recommend, very informative great tourI highly recommend this tour with Michael. I booked the Birdwatching, Waterfall, Rainforest and Island Nature Tour. The tour was absolutely great and Michael was the best tour guide you can have. I was picked up on time and driven along the coastal road of the island to the Argyle waterfall (take a change of clothes & towel it is fun to get in). Another highlight of the day was the Giplin Trail in the rain forest where we got to hear and see many amazing birds! Michael is very knowledgeable, funny, professional and enthusiasticWritten March 14, 2024
- 347lesleye0 contributionsWonderful day outMy husband and I booked a Birdwatching, Waterfall, Rainforest and Island Nature Tour and I can’t recommend Michael and the tour highly enough. We were picked up promptly and driven along the coast road on the Atlantic side of the island to the Argyle waterfall where we spent a lovely time wandering up the path to the waterfall itself. Next we went to the Giplin Trail in the rain forest where Michael took us for a two hour walk pointing out a wide variety of plants trees and birds. He is so knowledgeable, funny and enthusiastic we simply had the best time, and learnt a lot about the history of Tobago as well as the flora and fauna. The views of the beaches on the Caribbean side of the island were spectacular and Castara beach, our final stop beautiful. I am delighted we found Michael online as today’s trip was an amazing end to our stay on the island.Written March 6, 2024

- Franks-furballs0 contributionsYour in good handsWe found Michael through a recommendation from another guest at our hotel, helpful as there are so many tours on offer, both on line and from the hotel itself. We agreed the plan the day before and also the price. He turned up on time and off we set for our tour of Tobago. I must say his driving was excellent, no crazy moves like some of the cabs we’d been in. He really delivered, we saw all the spots he’d promised and he’s so knowable about the rain forest and all it’s inhabitants. He had a good local restaurant booked for lunch and we enjoyed the fresh food and company.Written February 8, 2024
- Q9390FMgillianh0 contributionsWhy to book through Trip AdvisorI booked directly with Michael Gobin, birdman of tobago, at his request rather than booking through Viator or Trip Advisor. I read all the positive reviews and felt reassured that he was professional and trust worth. So I did , naively, agree to pay him in advance for four separate tours for four people. He was engaging and keen and appeared very genuine. He said he would give us a good itinerary and kept in regular touch with us while we were still in the UK. When we met on our first day he tried to persuade us to book more tours we agreed to one more and again paid in advance so he could pay his contacts. He only provided two tours and the communication dropped off and despite promising to repay us and giving many explanations we never received a refunded of any money. Please learn from my mistake always book through an agency and do not give this man any money in advance and do not pay him directly. I have no recourse and no support to get my money back. He owes us just shy of £1000 , $1270 USA or $8637 trinidad and tobago dollars. Michael Gobin, I am so disappointed that despite your reassurances you have failed to pay us back, your actions really did ruin our holiday and left me unable to share beautiful tobago with my friends like I had planned, shame on you.Written January 20, 2024
- Sue S0 contributionsSee Tobago’s natural beauty with an experienced and engaging guideJason Radix is an excellent guide to Tobago. We saw a lot, learned a lot and had a lot of fun. We were in Tobago for one day and spent our day with Jason Radix, the owner of Tobago nature tours.com. He has worked in nature-related tourism for more than 30 years. We saw much of the island and learned about the history and cultures of Trinidad and Tobago. We saw many lovely beaches and went for a hike in a huge nature preserve. Jason pointed out many birds and plants that we would have otherwise missed. He is quite knowledgeable about the local plants and their botanical names, and quite adept at finding the local birds. This was a wonderful experience on Tobago!Written December 26, 2023
- alexandernorr0 contributionsMichael the No. 1 Rainforest Tour GuideMichael was an amazing guide and all round nice guy. He was able to pick us up from our rental place and took us to the Argyle Waterfall, and then to the Rainforest. Michael’s knowledge of the rainforest and island is second to none, and was able to quickly identify rare birds and fauna that we would have otherwise would’ve missed. - lizjohn520 contributionsJust the bestWe were very lucky as we drove ourselves to see the Argyle falls and we met Michael who took us on a wonderful walk in the Rainforest. His knowledge of the wildlife and especially the birds is amazing. You can tell he is passionate about his island and wildlife. It rained while we were in the forest but that just added to the experience. He then took us to the beautiful Argyle falls where we had a refreshing dip. We would highly recommend Michael.Written November 5, 2023
- Camper650692936310 contributionsListens to what you want and delivers exactly, nothing is too much trouble and a very reasonably pricedMichael is a lovely man full of knowledge and love for his Island and wildlife, and when it comes to birds he is the best, we asked to experience the real Tobago away from the crowds. We first did the rainforest walk, we were the only ones there and saw so many different birds, some rare, and he was patient with our slow walking, he also bought us delicious roti from a local kitchen. The second trip was around the island, we saw every beach and bay, so many villages and Michael told us the history of the names, we stopped for a while at a few places, including a swim in a waterfall, once again just us and the locals, lunch was at a local cafe and it was delicious. The third trip was to little tobago to see the Boobies catching the flying fish and the frigate birds trying to steal it of them, we went over in a little boat with a couple of local guys who were very attentive and showed us some places on the way, once again we had the place to ourselves and the views of the birds were spectacular, the trip was rounded off with seeing a Tiger Owl sat in a tree looking at us with his cute face while we ate another delicious roti. Although we are a bit wobbly on our feet and have breathing problems Michael who is as fit as a fiddle, and never even broke out in a sweat ,was never impatient with us and still found loads if interesting things for us to see and do. Once again a lovely man who understands the essence of the island. If I knew how to upload photos you would be amazed.Written September 26, 2023

We wanted to see the forest with its birds. Micheal took us on amazing tours in the forest and on Little Tobago including snorceling on two days. He was very engaged and with his deep knowledge he enabled us to see plenty birds and the forest. We would recommend his tours to everyone who want to see the unique nature on Tobago. He is the birdman on Tobago who take the birds out for you to see them.

Birdman Micheal does an amazing tour of the rainforest and waterfalls ; his hawk eyes spotted hummingbirds, Mot Mots, blue Emperor butterflies and an armadillo. He calls to the birds and they call back. Been guiding since he was 11 and now 40- amazing breadth of knowledge.

We booked a tour directly with Michael Gobin. He tailored a trip for us to see Little Tobago and the rainforest in one day. We also enjoyed a really good lunch and stopped at various beautiful beaches to soak up the atmosphere. Michael is extremely knowledgeable and was able to spot birds that we would have missed completely without his expert guidance. His car is comfortable and he's a careful driver so you can just relax and enjoy the views. We would recommend his services to anyone keen to see Tobago and wanting to learn about the flora and fauna.

This immersive nature and birdwatching tour starting in the Main Ridge culminating at Argyle Falls is a must-do in Tobago, even for a born and raised Trinbagonian. Michael was most accommodating and welcoming to our family and it is because of his deep love and appreciation for our natural world. Tobago’s biggest bird lover was met by a fellow ardent bird enthusiast (new visitor to T&T) in our group and Michael took every opportunity to educate us on the island’s history as it related to the many species of flora and fauna in the forest reserve as we walked through the serene expanse of green. The highlight for me were the waterfalls; starting with the first waterfall within Main Ridge itself, at which point we got out, had a refreshing shower and turned back. On the way back, we caught a rare sighting of some beautiful species native to the region and Tobago, the most spectacular being a dance of the striking blue breasted manakins! As we headed over to Argyle Falls, we had no idea what awaited us on the upward dirt road drive to the top of the falls and the subsequent 10-15 mins downward hike. We felt we could have stayed the rest of the day near these falls either in one of the natural waterfall pools or lounging on the rocks at the foot of the falls as they beat down on our thirsty backs. Thanks to Michael for accommodating our group within a couple days! Tip: bring binoculars if you have them.

We had a great day with Michael touring the rainforest. He was so informative about the history of Tobago as well as the natural environment. When they call him Birdman, it is on point. We saw so many different birds on this tour it was amazing. He knows where they nest and can identify them by their calls. Make sure to bring socks to wear under your boots, and you definitely need the boots! He was on time, communicated well and we would book again if we return.

We took a tour with Michael in August 2022, of Argyle Falls. He was extremely knowledgeable and very patient with us. Some of us aren't very fit - but Michael never rushed us. He reassured us that everything was fine, and that we were doing great. He has a great sense of humour and after the tour, we all agreed that it was worth it. Thank you, Michael!

So glad we found this amazing guide, Michael the Birdman. His knowledge and love of local birds/nature is outstanding! And he is funny also. We had a full private, customized tour filled with fun, laughter, & learning. First, a tour of the total east coast. Then to the Rain Forest Reserve to spot unusual birds and later to a hummingbird farm, and finally to the top of Little Tobago Island, and snorkeling at Angel Reef, ending with a family-style meal at the Tree House. Check out the phitos

What an excursion!
Michael picked us up exactly as discussed across the road from the cruise port. He dove us to get a boat to ride to Little Tobago. Simply a must do! Afterwards got us some food and we ate before going into the rainforest. Food GREAT!! The hike thru the rainforest was great! We had a great tour all over Tobago! Saw lots of new species of birds and the beautiful Tobago countryside as well.
I have to say of ALL the excursions we have taken in the Caribbean this one with Michael was top five and maybe top two. Michael does exactly as he says and goes beyond.
I HIGHLY recommend Michael and we hope to see him again!
