About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- RoBez20200 contributionsMagical experienceAfter a wonderful experience a couple of days earlier with our guide Norris and TopDawg Taxi and Tours doing the Dark Falls Tour, I signed up for this tour with them. In addition to the iconic climb up to La Sofriere, the whole experience was super fun as we got to explore the Windward side of Vincy - the coast and beaches are wilder. Sensing our enthusiasm to explore fully this part of the island, Norris drove us through the center of the island on the way back to our hotels, and this gave us a pretty interesting flavor of some neighborhoods and villages up in the mountains and away from the beaches. La Soufriere hike was moderately challenging but well worth it. We had a special guide "Tall man" John who accompanied us on the hike, He was full of information and factoids about the history of the volcano, the various eruptions, the endemic flora/fauna of this region, the herbal medicines that come out of what grows here, and various other such interesting insights. This engaging conversation made the uphill climb up to the crater much easier. Whilst the views at the top were immersed in clouds and fog, the place itself is still magical.Written July 12, 2024
- RoBez20200 contributionsA must-do, fantastic tour with an awesome guide - just do it !An awesome half-day experience on the leeward side of the St. Vincent Island in s small group of 5. Our guide/driver Norris was absolutely top notch and we got an amazing birds-eye view tour of this gorgeous side of the island along with an engaging and insightful commentary about the culture, the history, the people and flora/fauna of these beautiful country. The tour is set up to hit all the key highlights and viewpoints of the island in a well-paced manner, including a short hike and time to soak under the gorgeous Dark View Falls and the fun, quirky Pirates of the Caribbean set. Norris was extremely solicitous to our needs, a keen listener to our many queries, and perceptive of each person's interests. He left no stone unturned to ensure we had a fantastic time with him. Not only did we not feel rushed at all during the entire tour, but he went out of his way to make sure we got to check out all the sights of interest to us, and he even made various bonus picture-taking stops for us. Additionally, he had us sample some delicious local delicacies as well as fresh fruits along the way, and of course, the shots of rum punch! All in all, a wonderful, not to miss experience if you happen to be on St. Vincent.Written July 12, 2024
- karimbO1372MN0 contributionsLa Soufriere hike and windward coast experienceMy second tour with Topdawg tours. Beres, again, our outstanding guide. Wayne back at the office was fantastic in communicating and coordinating the trips. Both seem to genuinely want their clients to have fantastic experiences and connections with their beautiful island. I learnt a huge amount on the hike about the volcano and the local plants, we unfortunately had a cloudy/foggy day up top but it was still an awesome experience in a special place. I particularly enjoyed seeing the stunning windward coast and comparing it to our previous tour up the leeward coast. Thanks!Written June 26, 2024
- karimbO1372MN0 contributionsAmazing views and cultural experiences up the leeward coastOur tour guide, Beres, made it an absolute priority that we all enjoyed ourselves. He went above and beyond to show us the most beautiful views across the island, he was hugely informative and communicative about the islands history, culture and people. The waterfalls were spectacular, the pirates of the Caribbean set was fun, and I loved the fresh mango and rum punch! Thank youWritten June 26, 2024
- C4098FGgregc0 contributionsNot what is used to beI have been hesitating writing this review. It has been over a year since I vacationed on Bequia (my 11th time) I usually stay 4 to 6 weeks, Bequia is not a lost paradise any more. What was once an oasis of charm, peace and tranquility has changed in the last few years, Cruise ships dropping of 3000 people on the island has utterly ruined the island. Although the ships do not stop every day when they are there the island is overrun with cruisers. They take up all the bars, restaurants and beaches and leave those of us who are staying without food and drinks in the evenings. Takes days to resupply these items. The island is just not prepared for the massive numbers of cruise passengers. Hotels are booked in advance. Do not arrive without a reservation and be sure to have a written confirmation from the hotel. The people who live on the island are the nicest people I have ever met, making you feel welcome. The beaches are wonderful, and food is good (when available). Stay away from the town and beaches on cruise days. I remember Bequia when it was paradise.Written June 26, 2024

- Chezza18680 contributionsDramatic scenic views with a knowledgeable GuideThe tour took us over the scenic Windward side of the island of St. Vincent. En route we took in the changing landscapes and villages and saw the destruction caused by the volanic eruption of 2021. Owia Salt Pond is spectacular! The place was deserted when we were there so it was nice to have the place to ourselves. The many rock pools were teeming with wildlife: I spotted a small zebra eel! It's worth noting that the Salt Pond has a little over 200 steps that lead down to it, so is not easily accessible to those with walking difficulties and those who struggle with walking back up steps. Also, footwear with good grip is advisable if stepping across the rocks in the rock pool. There is a nice park with picnic benches above the Salt Pond which is easily accessible to all and which has nice views over the ocean. The tour of Black Point Tunnel was interesting and a reminder of the island's dark past. The service received from our Tour Guide was exceptional! He is incredibly knowledgeable and accommodated our specific needs; nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this tour.Written June 13, 2024
- Guide090787396860 contributionsA fulfilling adventure!La Soufriere hike was so much fun with TopDawg Taxi tours. They picked us up promptly at Sandals and Whatsapp'd weeks before to confirm. The team was absolutely lovely from the start to finish - sharing their personal stories, knowledge, and insights into "Vincy." The hike was somewhat challenging - with some loose rocks on the way up and down but the team was always there to help. As we were only there for a weekend, it was worth the day and we felt way more in-tune with the island's land, culture and spirit.Written April 1, 2024
- Josie H0 contributionsJourney to the other sideAn experience I’ll remember for life. The staff and the guide for the hike was amazing. Our guide, (Tall Man) was friendly, encouraging, overall outstanding. I honestly wouldn’t make it to the top if it weren’t for him. Also the knowledge he has about the plants and wild life was fantastic very fascinating. This experience was everything and more than what I’d imagineWritten March 21, 2024
- Minboro0 contributionsGreat tripExcellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide, travelled all round the island whilst he explained about life on the island, plants trees etc, visiting remove villages with no tourism, also visit to the waterfall where we swam and ended up on a lovely beach.Written February 28, 2024
- snorkler090 contributionsJust okThis tour was decent but could have been much better, they started by jamming way to many people into an already full van. The first part had some interesting views. The driver then asked who wanted a beer 1 for 5, I paid 10 USD for, and a British couple paid 10 euros for 2, The price other places on island was 3 for 5 Caribbean dollars (felt scammed) The stop at the gardens was supposed to be 15 minutes and resulted in a dollar charge to see a 10-foot waterfall and stand around 45 minutes watching cab drivers argue. The Pirates of Carribean film area was great absolutely best part of tour. The beach stop was OK at best.Written February 22, 2024
- craigcR2160GK0 contributionsVolcano trekGreat service from start to finish. The guide was very experienced and managed to get us to the top of the volcano safely. There were lots of cool things to see on the way up. Wayne was a great driver and contacted us before the trip to arrange pick up location, great customer service throughout the day. The walk was quite challenging, our group started with 6 people but only 3 managed to make it to the top. It’s not super difficult but does require a bit of fitness as it gets steep at the top and the terrain is very rocky/ slippy underfoot due to ash from previous eruption. You will be well rewarded if you make it to the top and manage to see the spectacular views of the volcano. If it’s misty, make sure you wait 5 minutes as it does clear.Written February 20, 2024
- Geoham950 contributionsGood trip but fort shut!Overall good trip let down by fort shut, driver took us as far as he could for some great views. Garden guide very good and Rum excellent. 5 star if fort open I think.Written February 13, 2024

- johnbL7359XO0 contributionsGreat hike even if foggyGreat hike with a good guide. 6km with ascent of 500m. Slippery under foot sometimes. The only disappointment was that the peak was enveloped in cloud so no views and could not see into the crater. Interesting plants (wild coffee) along the way.Written January 25, 2024
