- carolynbM4389CQ0 contributionsA rain forest trip that included a hermit crab!Rashidi gave my cousin and me a fascinating and educational tour of the rain forest on St. Kitts. We saw birds and butterflies but only heard the monkeys who are way too shy to appear for a photo op. He has extensive knowledge of the native flora and we soaked up all the stories. One major surprise was seeing an actual hermit crab rather far from the water. Rashidi assured us he would make it down there when he needed a bigger shell. He really knows his stuff and is a very pleasant man to spend the day with.Written August 26, 2024
- P9936QZkathrynm0 contributionsExploring the rainforest with Rashidi was a highlight of our trip!My mom and I really enjoyed this tour. It was beautiful and very calming to be immersed in nature! We had a great time exploring and learning about the healing qualities of many plants in the rainforest. Rashidi was extremely kind and knowledgeable. He even took us to pick up some local food before returning to our hotel. This tour was a highlight of our trip!Written August 6, 2024
- susannen6090 contributionsRainforest Drive ThroughWe were greeted by Rashidi and then taken to the Rainforest drive through. It was an amazing drive with wonderful views and loads of local facts and story tails. We claimed ( in a 4WD)two of the Kittitian mountains. Which was a challenging drive for our driver but worth every minute. He knew the road/ track like the back of his hand. At the top we also got some local Raison role to taste. Delicious 😋 this trip is well worth doing when you can’t join the walking tour. Thank you Rashidi for a very pleasant experienceWritten April 14, 2024

- Elle N0 contributionsWonderful Rainforest Hike! This was such a memorable and fun experience all thanks to Rashidi! We learned so much about the flora in the rainforest and how it relates to the rich history of St Kitts. During the hike Rashidi taught us how to identify almond shells and crack them! We also saw monkeys and wild pig tracks. After the hike we were rewarded with smoothies, juice and yummy raisin rolls! Thank you Rashidi for a fun experienceWritten September 1, 2023
- Daydream161945198000 contributionsFabulous HikeWe had the best time! It was more of a walk than a hike but the tour guide was extremely informative about the wild life. Would absolutely recommend. A great activity to stay cool!!Written May 4, 2023
- lewismcdonaldc0 contributionsWonderful Rain Forest Hike in St. Kitts with Rogers Eco Tours (and Rashidi!)We had a wonderful hike with Rashidi through the rainforest. He picked us up at our hotel and gave us a nice tour of the area while driving to the hike along with other suggestions for our time on St. Kitts. Rashidi is very knowledgable on the plants and animals in the area and you can tell he is passionate about nature. We were able to see monkeys jumping around in the trees but they are scared of us so can be tough to spot. The hike was easy but you do need to walk over many tree roots as you go. About midway, Rashidi gave us the option to go back the way we came or a different path up a large hill. We chose the large hill which was fun for us (a 50+ couple in pretty good shape) but we did use the ropes for assistance up the very steep hill. The hike was almost entirely in the shade. We were able to get lovely smoothies afterwards and a wonderful raisin bread. We highly recommend this hike. It makes for a wonderful morning.Written April 29, 2023
- Anapaupcors0 contributionsThe best hike ever! The tour was excellent. The crew was well prepared; they gave us sticks, food and beverages, and they had amazing energy. We went up with a really good pace and everyone was having an amazing time. We saw a hummingbird, and two monkeys. The tour guy (Paul) is really funny and really fast he gives you lots of facts! The views were amazing! You fill something really beautiful getting all the way up and see everything from the top. I really recommend this tour, but keep in mind you need to have good condition. (also bring good shoes)Written January 5, 2023
- veryuniquetraveler0 contributionspleasant excursionI highly recommend using this tour company. I booked a tour directly with them through their website. Rashidi was very personable. They were the only company we could find that was willing to pick us up at our location ( a bit remote ), for a reasonable rate. Walking sticks are provided. Rashidi was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all the plants on the tour and other island info. He explained they base their tours around the clients abilities, instead of a "one fits all" perspective. The rainforest hike is well suited for those unable to do the very strenuous volcano hike. We thoroughly enjoyed our rainforest hike and felt the hike suited our capabilities just right. The tour was VERY educational as we learned a lot about all the native plants and animals. The setting was very beautiful and peaceful.Written December 15, 2022

The hike was quite strenuous and a bit rushed but I think that was due to the limited time the trip was allotted from the cruise boat. The trail is quite steep and pretty rutted but an excellent workout.
Very appreciative that Rogers was able to return my cell phone that I left in their tour bus! They got it back to the cruise ship before we left the port.

OMG!!! Do this ASAP!! The view from the top is absolutely majestic and you could not find a better guide than Mr. Rashidi Rogers. He was patient, knowledgeable and encouraging the whole way. I could not ask for a better time in hiking the volcano of my parents' birthplace. I am so grateful for the experience and my friends are already chomping at the bit to take the hike on our next trip. THANK YOU so much Rashidi and family!

They aren’t joking when they say this is a strenuous hike. It was probably the hardest I’ve ever done and I’m from Colorado and am used to hiking and altitude gains. Shout out to Shamika - I’m not sure I would have made it without her gentle encouragement. There were a couple of us that fell behind the group and she never made us feel bad or slow. She told us we could do it…and we did. Walking sticks, juice, a snack midway, and sandwiches at the end were provided. It rained and was cloudy when I got to the top so there zero view. It’s three days later and I can barely walk but it was a really cool experience.

Nickhail picked us up right away and whisked us off to the far side of St. Kitts to start our hike. We got lucky and the trek ended up just having me and my wife on it so we got a very personalized experience. Nickhail gave us a detailed history of the island as we made our way to the trail head, he has an amazing personality and was very warm and welcoming with us.
The hike started at 700 feet and over the course of ~2.5 miles (one way) we hiked up to 2800 feet, a 2100 ft elevation gain. The trail itself was moderate and pretty well kept but we had to move at a fast pace though to get us up and down in time which was a little challenging. The trail was gorgeous, we even saw wild monkeys. The trail was quiet, Nickhail mentioned that there is usually only 2 or 3 groups of tourists who hike it on any given day, ours though we didn't see anyone else.
Nickhail was a wealth of information on every aspect of the hike. The history of the trail, who used to own the land, the local flora and fauna, try as I might I was unable to stump him with my questions.
The summit was insane and well worth the excursion to get there. Nickhail had local pastries and juice to refresh us at the top. We don't want to spoil the view with our pictures but trust us, you want to go.
We had a nice drive back and stopped for a quick bite to eat and a very refreshing beer.
Thank you Rogers Eco Tours, this was a once in a life time event
