Great trip to see St Kitts
Kenny was our tour guide who was very informative and a great laugh. We did this excursion from the cruise port, no pre booking needed, $25 each. Made a lot of stops along the way (rum distillery, view point) and had a few hours at Frigate bay. People who did not want to stop at the beach were took back to the cruise port, and Kenny came back for us at the agreed time. Highly recommend!

Don't use! Scams and takes your money
I booked a 360 Island Tour with Captain Sunshine over the summer for a tour in August. He came highly recommended from a friend. When we got to the island, we were greeting by Kenny and his nephew. When we got into the van, he told us it was $300 per person cash. I told him I thought I reserved with a credit card online. And he said, no one takes credit cards on the island. So I gave him basically all the money I was carrying which left us nothing to spend on the island. His nephew offered us time and time again to stop at the ATM to get more cash but we declined. When I got back from the cruise, I checked my credit card statement and we did reserve with a credit card. I tried sending Kenny an email but he did not respond. So I filed a dispute with the credit card company but unfortunately I lost since I could not prove that I paid him in person. This was so sad and frustrating because I really wanted to like and promote his business but I can't because what he did was wrong. Please don't be scammed by him.

        Friendly and customer oriented
Captain Sunshine did a great job and made my experience the best possible for my one day on Saint Kitts. Had a real friendly driver who happens to be the young nephew of the company’s founder. They really took care of me so I would recommend this tour especially for seniors like me.

        Challenging hike in Paradise
Our tour guide and driver were outstanding - made us feel very welcome. The hike was very difficult but exhilarating. Not for the faint of heart.

A tour NOT to be missed!
Great tour in an open safari vehicle! Our Knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, Remarkable Randal took us around St. Kitts for 4 hours and showed us all the must sees of the island. Tour included Brimstone Fortress (tour included entrance fee), Romney Manor/Carbirlle Batick (where you will see how clothing is made) Old Rum Plantation, a short hike in a rain forest, Timothy Hill snd lastly the South Frigate beach with narration along the way. This is a must!

        HORROR!!!!!
HORROR!!! DO NOT BUY THIS TOUR WITH CAPTAIN SUNSHINE!!!!! It was a nightmare! Shane, the guy that should have been our guide, did not take us to the places included in the tour, he did not explain anything. Never again! We had included the Fortress in our tour, but Shane didn't bring us there. We had to visit 2 beautiful beaches, but he took us to a beach near a construction site. Nothing like paradise. We paid 198 Euro for 3 people and got nothing for that money.

A pleasant day in St. Kitts
We had been to St. Kitts twice before but had gone snorkeling or to Nevis. After walking down the pier and through the gates at the port, Captain Sunshine was waiting for us in front of the casino just to the right after passing through the gates. We saw Brimstone Fort, an old rum distillery (tasting $5), and Romney Manor. As we traveled through the town on our way to the beach our driver pointed out various local landmarks (churches, parks, statues, etc) and we stopped at Timothy Hill overlook for some photos. Our guide suggested Frigate Bay beach but I there are several nearby and I think you have your choice. At Frigate Bay the bar/restaurant had free wifi, beer $3, frozen drinks $9, two beach chairs with umbrella $10. Note: the dark volcanic sand on these beaches can get rather hot in the afternoon sun so you’ll want flip flops or beach shoes. After our time at the beach, we were taken back to the port shopping area and dropped off.

A true test of your endurance and fitness level
Great test of your endurance tour. If you aren't in excellent physical condition you won't make it to the top. You can still go but you'll stop halfway and either wait for the group to go up and come back down or you can turn around. Note there is still stuff to see so not all is lost. Regarding the tour. Adrian was our guide and a ball of energy with great stories and knowledge. But he does keep a good pace so you'll need to keep up. The only complaint was the actual time spent at the top (about 5 minutes) then you head back down another 2 plus hours. But I get it, they have to get people back to the cruise ships by a certain time. If you have some extra time on the island and want to test yourself I would recommend. Note, they sell beer at the end of the hike if you want to celebrate your accomplishment after.

        Very average
Booked in port after speaking to a lovely couple who were promoting the tour. The weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t stop everywhere which wasn’t the drivers fault. However the driver was very difficult to hear as the speaker system was poor. The information given was not as interesting as other tours we’ve been on and we felt that the driver lacked personality and didn’t interact with the passengers. Sadly not a recommended trip

Captain Sunshine St. Kitts, An awesome adventure
For one of the stops on my Norwegian Epic Caribbean cruise, I took the "hiking tour to Soffa Stone" shore excursion provided by Captain Sunshine Tours, St. Kitts. The experience was absolutely phenomenal. The tour guide, Troy, was very knowledgeable about every aspect of the Milliken Estate, from which the tour commenced. Water, refreshment, and a delightful lunch of local foods was provided at the end of the hike. The actual hike was moderately challenging but Troy was very mindful of the group's varying fitness levels and ensured that everyone was able to enjoy the spectacular views from the top of the mountain. And to delightfully add to the adventure, our group was able to see a family of monkeys romping off into the jungle close to our path. In summary, this was a one of a kind, truly phenomenal, experience. I would highly recommend Captain Sunshine Tours as either a shore excursion package bundled with a cruise, or as a destination package for those vacationing on St Kitts.

Best way to see all of St. Kitts!
Our friendly tour guide, Brian, provided us with an outstanding, well-narrated ride around the entire island. His driving and planned stops were considerate and timely. This was the most enjoyable island tour we’ve ever been on!

NOT a Walk in the Park!
To start with I have to say that Captain Sunshine Tours delivered on their promises and Damien was the best guide you could ever want, helpful, knowledgeable, skilled and entertaining. The hike is not a hike - it is a mountain and rock climb, a real killer for anyone not in top physical condition. My husband and I are in our mid sixties and walk a lot at home so we managed to finish it but were sore for days after. What were we thinking?!! In addition, there is a real possibility of injury and no aid in sight. The view is of a jungle filled crater through a small gap in the trees so unless you want to physically challenge yourself and are confident of your abilities - don't consider this. The view is not worth the effort. Any satisfaction comes from arriving safe and sound back at the starting point.

I don’t like to knock down a business because I know we’re all just trying to make ends meet but I would NOT recommend this company. I saw them recommended in a YouTube video so I decided to book with them. I had three things I wanted to do on this trip (sugar train, ATV and rainforest hike) so I emailed the owner asking if they could accommodate me. After over 10 emails trying to get confirmation and price, they said it was all set.

When I met with the company, I mentioned my email exchange and they said they had no idea what I was talking about and said that "they deal with a lot of people" and therefore wasn't sure what they could accommodate. I never mind the answer NO but don't tell me YES and then I'm stuck. They start me on the open air truck and we sat in the parking lot and waited for over half an hour. Then they moved me only off of the bus into some enclosed van (not what the tour was supposed to be). It was hot and didn't have a lot of clean windows and you could not see.

The rainforest hike was not really a hike but a quick walk through the trees. The tour guide was obviously killing time and made us stop a lot while he talked a LOT (about covid no less, and how he never got it, don't care, inappropriate). It was already noon and we hadn't done anything really, I finally complained enough where they dropped me off at the ATV place, which I appreciated, but I honestly wasted 100 dollars of my money booking this tour with them and I would not do so again.

Nothing what we expected this excursion from our cruise to be! It said, nature, wildlife and flowers. Our tour guide was obsessed about the trees, the tree names and what we can do with every tree for medicine or eating. We spotted a bunch of monkeys and were so excited but our tour guide said "it's sad the new government doesn't let us kill them anymore because they eat and ruin all the crops". Then proceed to continue on the tour without even talking about what kind of monkeys or how they even got here. He didn't care we saw a bunch of hummingbirds our tour guide was more interested in picking and handing us a lemon leaf or all of us touching an aloe plant.

Once we got into the rainforest we noticed the tour walked along the pipe line, it was dirty and nothing scenic about the area at all. He explained every tree in sight but forgot to mention the cool millipede we spotted and walked away when we pointed it out. I really thought this tour was about nature and not trees because I would have picked a far different tour then trees! It said moderate trails and at one point our tour guide said when someone falls we will all laugh and you will get muddy but you'll stand up and continue on, he never waited for the whole group to catch up and at one point a bunch of us might as well been hiking without a tour guide. At least then we were spotting bugs in the forest. Be prepared there is no food or drinks to buy on this trip and at the end they gave out a few apples, bananas, cake and juice. Not much after hiking for 3 hours in a muggy forest.

We booked the tour through a third-party provider (Shore Excursions Group). However, the excursion was conducted by Captain Sunshine, and our guide was Captain Junior.

When we booked the tour, we assumed that the main part of the tour would involve a hike in the rainforest. However, the first stop of the tour turned out to be an opportunity to take a photo with a monkey or buy souvenirs. Additionally, right before entering the rainforest, we made an extensive stop at a souvenir stand. It became clear to us that the tour was not what we had expected.

The "hike" through the rainforest was more of a leisurely stroll where we occasionally stopped to admire rather uninteresting things. After about 45 minutes, our time in the rainforest was already over, and we were taken to a beach where we were supposed to be picked up after 3 hours. Since the beach was only "okay" and nothing special for the Caribbean, we decided to shorten our stay to one hour.

The guide felt more like a taxi driver because he didn't provide us with much information about the island or the rainforest.

Our driver, Janeel, was pleasant and personable. Too bad he had to pass us off to Shane. Shane was annoying. He kept repeating himself. One of his common phrases was " You make me happy, I make you happy. Even if you don't make me happy, I still make you happy." Not true! We had a very short walk through the entrance to the rainforest. This was a far cry from a hike! Shane would stop a lot to make comments, mostly about the supposed medicinal value of plants. He was immature and sexist. At one point he told us that the vines hanging from the trees could be used as a belt or for my husband to whip me if he was in a bad mood when he returned from work. Not funny to joke about. I would have much preferred to just take a taxi to the rainforest and hike with by husband on my own! Not worth the cost.

We chose this tour based on prior reviews and the Promise to get us back to our ship on time!
Our guide Shane Hodge was very knowledgeable about the rainforest and many of the local plants and their traditional medicinal uses .
The tour included the rainforest as well as a trip to a local batik making village.
The women in our small group of four spent so much time shopping that our driver and myself were both napping while the ladies finished their shopping !
Our driver Remarkable Randall was very patient ,knowledgeable of the local culture and was even considerate enough to offer us the beach time EVEN after we exceeded the allotted time! Very Impressive!
The tour was excellent, informative and will be a lasting memory!
PS - Be sure to grab a local smoothie after the rainforest tour !
The smoothie will rank with the best you’ve Ever Had and the natural ingredients in the rainforest setting will blow you away!
This is a Don’t miss in St Kitts !

We had a fantastic time on this excursion with our guide Janeel. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed learning about St. Kitts and it’s history from him. Unfortunately we had to cut our tour short because one of our group was not feeling well and Janeel went above and beyond to assist us — even offering up a local remedy to try and help. We loved St. Kitts and I would highly recommend this excursion!

This was my second time visiting St. Kitts and I knew that I was in for a great tour! We were on the Harmony of the Seas and were in port for most of the day. I didn't want to book an excursion with the cruise line for this stop, and I knew that i would be able to book something in the port area as soon as we got off of the ship. This tour was easy to find, and it DID NOT disappoint. It was easy and even relaxing. Our driver and guide were full of information, facts, and humor. They were amazing! They took us to so many sites that we would never have been able to see on our own. There was time for everything, and he even offered to drop us of at the beach at the end of the tour, and send someone back to get us to return to the ship if we wished, but we didn't take him up on it. If it is your first visit or fifth, and you are worried or not sure of what to do in St. Kitts, BOOK THIS TOUR when you are in port. They are great!!! Can't wait to do it again with you guys!

Cannot say enough about this tour! They were easy to find, waiting just outside the port. Our trip started with a nice and scenic drive toward the rainforest. Our driver (?Jaren) was excellent—he was also heading a scenic tour which we benefited from to and from the rainforest; very informative and helpful. We reached the site we would meet with “Captain Junior” for our adventure. Capt.Jr was so much fun from step one! Gave us a great tour of the areas in and around the rainforest. Very knowledgeable of the flora/fauna and of the history. Allowed time for pictures and fun along the way. Jr had even gotten some aloe for another person who went on there same excursion and was sunburnt prior. They said they were going to make us happy and they certainly delivered on that. Our tour was amazing. We got to see the botanical gardens and much of the island as well thanks to driving along with another tour! Highly recommend Capt Sunshine Tours!

We booked the Rainforest hike with Captain Sushine tours and had such a GREAT time. Our tour guide, Captain Junior aka Shane was the freaking best! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He was so knowledgeable of the rainforest, the trees, the plants...the route, just everything. I even got a quick hair braid too haha! He is such a kind, humble and special spirit local of St Kitts and we now have a friend for life. They set up our rides to/from port and even took us to Thomas Hill to see where Caribbean meets Atlantic and to the area beach to hang out & came back to get us. Truely a wonderful experience and thorough company to trust with your excursion and getting around the area. Thank you so much!! Can’t wait to come back!
