      Crowded
Wayyyyyyyyy overcrowded!!!! We waited close to 3 hours in the scorching sun for maybe a 15 second zip line…not worth it!!! With that being said, the views on top of the mountain were amazing and the bartenders made some excellent drinks. All-in-all, I would not waste my time on this excursion…not worth the price or your time!!!

Becareful you have to complete a waiver this could affect your insurance.
After we booked, they wanted us to complete a waiver, this made me very nervous and no mention of this before booking. In the waiver it mentioned health conditions again I was worried our insurance would be void if anything happened. Therefore, I decided to cancel. Eventually, I got a response. 10% was deducted for admin again I expected a full refund.

      Amazing Views at the top
Booked this as a cruise excursion, and were not disappointed. The coach took about 15 mins to arrive, and we were told by the friendly staff where to queue, and what to do. My wife, being slight, found it challenging to jump backwards onto her seat whilst the chair was moving. It took about 25 minutes to reach the top which my wife found quite unnerving due to the height of the safety bar. When at the top though, the views are amazing, and was worth the trip up, and down. Overall, we had a lovely time, and would recommend going on the Sky Explorer.

      Wonderful Experience!
My husband booked this for us as an excursion during our cruise. I was most terrified and was definitely facing a huge fear of mine. The gondola ride was probably the scariest part. The zip line was a blast and I would do it again. The staff were incredible and out my fears to rest. One thing I would’ve liked was to be able to purchase a video afterwards. We did get photos but would’ve definitely spent the money on a video as well.

Great views over the bays and over the airport
Great views over the bays and over the airport area. I did the climb on foot. The path is not signposted and starts a little to the right of the valley station, outside the official area. You simply stay below the chairlift. Very steep in places, but no problem with good footwear. It took me about 25 minutes each way (male, 69 years old). I was allowed to enter all platforms without an entrance ticket. So if you don't want to use the rollercoasters, you'll also get your money's worth.

      Choose anything else!
My husband and I have been on 20+ excursions and this was the worst BY FAR. We've really never had a bad experience. I read reviews unfortunately too late to switch to something else. We had booked through the cruise directly and hoped that would make a difference compared to some of the other reviews we had read. Our visit was March 12, 2024. I'll try to keep this short, but even navigating to the bus and the bus experience was ridiculous. There were multiple groups and on one hand they were trying to keep the groups separate and on the other hand they said it didn't matter because we were all going to the same place. We're just trying to follow directions. Chaos and confusion was at its finest and we had just begun. Once at the property we were directed, along with several other people, to leave all loose items and backpacks behind. They were not allowed on the zipline. Again, there were MANY different groups because they had other activities, but I understood to find a locker, so I went to follow directions. We got a locker and deposited EVERYTHING in the locker. Phones, money, all loose items. We were following directions. But there were only a small number of lockers and there were HUNDREDS of people, so I definitely did question the logic here. But I'm a rule follower, and the rules I did follow. We waited in line for about 30 minutes to take the skylift UP the mountain. This was about a 30 minute or so ride up. It was beautiful. Bummer we didn't have our phones. It was also hot and I was missing my hat and water. No worries, I'm sure we'll be back down soon enough. Once at the top, more gorgeous views, but again, bummer for us. All loose items were left down below. But we appeared to be the only idiots that followed directions. Then we were directed to sign in. We were then told to relax by the bar until they call us. Relax. In the hot sun (no shade anywhere), barely a spot to sit down. For at least, we were told, 2 hours. It was more than 2 hours. An hour in I became worried about dehydration. It was HOT. My kids are 13 and 18. No money, nothing. So stupid. I found a passenger on our ship and asked if she could loan me money and promised to find her later and pay her back. She graciously gave me cash so that I could buy two bottles of water for my family of 4. I've never had to ask for money from a stranger before. I asked the employees and they suggested we take the skylift back down to retriever our belongings. 30 minutes down, 30 minute line. 30 minutes back up, rejoin the line at the end. Excellent suggestion. Thank you so much to the staff. The zipline itself is motor controlled. Do not buy into the hype that it's the steepest zipline in the world. It doesn't matter if you are when you are MOTOR controlled. It was SLOW and lame at best. It was absolutely NOT worth the money paid. Choose something else. Choose anything else. Once we retrieved our belongings we pointed out all the signage and explained what we had been told and why do the signs indicate for people to lock up their belongings if everyone keeps everything. She said all we had to do was ask and they would have told us. Hmm. I'll keep that in mind next time an employee directly tells me to do something. Rule followers always lose.

A must do! Our favorite was the Flying Dutchman, but all 3 were fun. The chairlift is slow and stops a lot, but it gives you the opportunity to look st the amazing views!

Family of four, mom, dad and two kids (13 and 10) booked this during a port day. It was a nice break from the beach and we enjoyed this. It was pretty pricey and I don't think we'll do this again, but overall the view is spectacular and the staff are really accommodating.

      Trip adviser vs official site
Nice outdoor park with an awesome view of the island. My only negative thing to say is I booked through trip advisor and don’t see anywhere that says close toed shoes for zip lining. So I could not do the zip line since I had teva sandals on. However the official website does say that. It also doesn’t discuss coming at a certain time you just show up and go whenever between there open hours. The trip adviser hours are different than the official websites hours as well. Where is the disconnect between the two here?

      Quick Fun!
We only did the zip line. The views were amazing but I wish they'd have said they did not allow Go-Pro recording on the way down. I'd have gladly paid to use theirs or whatever they offer (if they offered it!)

      Had an absolute BLAST!!!
I had an absolute blast here!! I highly suggest you just take your time. The chair lift takes you to the actual attractions and it does take at the least 30mins to reach the top. I had never been zip Lining before and it was amazing. I started with the basic course first before doing the Flying Dutchman, those courses really help especially if your nervous like I was. Luckily I had met some wonderful people that also helped, even a 12 year old kid lol by the end I was ready to do the Flying Dutchman. Thankfully there is also a bar up at the top for liquid courage and I highly recommend The Flying Dutchman Drink its blue and pretty and by my 2nd one I had no fear lol the actual Flying Dutchman was absolutely amazing!!! Unfortunately I couldn't use my Go Pro and it totally makes sense why at the bottom you do come to a sudden stop. Other than that it's totally worth it! Also the food at the restaurant was amazing and so were the drinks. I loved seeing all of the iguanas too. Definitely do this you won't regret it, I just wish I got people names lol

Fun way to take in amazing views of the whole island. We knew about big zip ( Flying Dutch), canopy tours were great!
A great afternoon with my kids (9, 11 and 17) creating unique memories! The tube ride was an unexpected surprise, and in my view the canopy tours short zips steal the show as the views are amazing with 4 short zips in 20 minutes. The Flying Dutchman is great, and the observation deck was a cool way to view the island.

Very Disappointed! Scheduled Closure Not Shared With Trip Advisor. Staff Very Unfriendly.
Very disappointing experience. We booked our trip to ensure we did this on a day the least number of cruise ships were in port due to other bad reviews we have read about long wait times. We booked a Saturday. We paid in advance. When we arrived we were told the Dutchman was closed due to a scheduled event. Why would you let people book and pay for something if you know you are going to be closed? So disappointed and no apologies! We were able to ride the chairlift to the top but that was horrible also. Due to the event the chairlift was filled with supplies and stopped every chair to unload. I got a severe sunburn on my head because it took so long to get to the top stopping after every other chair made it to the top.

Loved the zip line and views on Sky Explorer trip
Easy to get on/off chair lift to top. Beautiful sites of St Maarten over the whole island. Fun ride down the zip line. We loved it! Expensive but exhilarating!

We did the Schooner first, riding an inner tube down a track. It was fun , but not worth the visit on it's own.
Next we took the chairlift to the top of the mountain. The views were amazing, we had a clear day and took dozens of pictures. You can see almost every beach on the island from there.
Last we did the Sentry Hill Ziplines. You ride several ziplines, each one was a blast.
The service there was pretty friendly and our time there was a little over 2 hours.
Highly recommend visiting, worth it for the views alone.

Hi Damon, Thank you for the review! Glad you got to experience our Paradise from a Bird's Eye View! The View is absolutely Stunning and worth the relaxing ride up on the chairlift! We understand the Schooner ride was your least favorite excursion as it wasn't what you expected. Despite your disappointment, The Sentry Hill Zip was a much better experience from you! Thank you for your recommendation and taking the time to share your experience with us. Hope you tell all your family and friends about the Best 360 Views in St.Maarten! 😊

Went here with another couple. Everything is just as advertised. You can get discounts for booking online and they give senior discounts cutting something like $20.00 off the high price. They have a large staff and as a retired firefighter and EMT I was glade they take safety seriously, HOWEVER when we did the tube rides I was accidentally given a medium/small tube even though I am 6'1" and weigh 250 lbs. At the first turn it almost flipped over sending sending me to the hospital or graveyard. After hearing my complaint they took it seriously and I could tell someone was going to be reprimanded for this. The zip-line was fun and went off without a hitch. The safety equipment is state of the business and they have plenty of staff to care for everyone. All and all a good experience but overpriced.

Thank you for your review barbmcg116! Pleased to hear your day at Rockland Estate met your expectations with the 360° Views at the top of Sentry Hill and vistas of neighboring islands. The Flying Dutchman is absolutely a fun activity and definitely worth experiencing while on St.Maarten. We're very happy our staff gave a you a warm tropical welcome to the park and had a positive impact on your day as well. We take pride in having professional and friendly staff like ours that are excited to share information about the island and help guest feel welcome to the park. We're sorry your experience on The Schooner ride was a bit more frightening than anticipated. This was an honest human error and it's not how we usually operate. We strive to offering a fun experience suitable for the whole family and we thank you for pointing this out, that way we assure it doesn't reoccur. We understand the price may be a bit steep for some; but absolutely worth it! The Emilio Wilson Museum highlights the history of the island and the Estate with a variety of reading panels and artifacts. Taking a walk through our nature trails is perfect for Nature Lovers. Guests can experience one of the largest restoration sites on the island at a relax paced while discovering a variety of native trees and plants with a selection of information panels. The tranquil ride up the mountain on The Sky Explorer offers breath taking views of the island and suitable for the entire family. For adventure lovers, all 3 of our attractions offers unforgettable thrills and lifetime memories. A day at our park is absolutely worth while as there is no better adventure than the complete Rockland Estate experience! We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.
