- jillml201800Thrilling but hotAmazing views and great ziplines. Only downside was large groups for the canopy ziplines, leading to long waits in the hot sun. I would have rather waited longer somewhere protected from the sun before the ziplines, and go in a smaller group, than wait in the full sun for each line.
- X600WQteresav00OutstandingView was breathtaking! The equipment was good and the guys providing the service were all friendly and professional.
- Jim T00Pretty spot to enjoy views, a drink and relax.A very interesting tour. There is small museum at the foot of the mountain with a lot of historical information on the island and its development from earliest human settlements to current times. There is a chairlift to the top for viewing and the zipline. Halfway up there is a stop for a bobsled type ride. Gorgeous viewpoints at the top, you can see Anguilla, St Barths and Saba. There is a bar and seating area available at the top as well. You can take the chairlift down or zip line. I think there are different wrist bands depending on your method of descent!
- dolar47900WoahThe views were amazing!! The staff was great and knowledgeable. For time, it was an all day experience. Ours included transportation. If you don’t get transportation then go early to beat the lines. There’s a bar at the bottom and all the way at top of the mountain. Flying Dutchman was an experience. It starts with 4 small zip lines then the huge one. A lot of climbing stairs for people who aren’t prepared. Where sneakers. So many rocks. My water shoes didn’t cut it.
- courtneybU4978OL00So fun!We really enjoyed this! I don't like heights but I like to step out of my comfort zone. This was super fun and I'm really glad we did it! The people were all really nice and friendly. They made us feel safe and they were really laid-back and easy going. It made it really enjoyable even though I was nervous.
- 7477heatherk00Most beautiful viewsMy husband and I did this together, and both loved it. The chair lift took us to the top of the mountain where beautiful views await. Signs tell you of the different islands you see. Very nice.
- Dreamer4529929348600Disappointment 100%Awful experience, such a waste of time and money. We waited three hours to get on the ride, when we finally got to the point of riding, something broke and they had a technician go down on a ladder to look and fix it. I was terrified to go on because of the technical issue. Finally I got on the zip line and such a disappointment…so slow, not thrilling at all. It was not worth the money and time I spent! Cruise people who left because of the wait time, YOU DID NOT MISSED A THING!
- 424marilynt00Pleasant ride and wonderful viewsLoved the restful atmosphere of the sky lift to the top. We did not do the ziplines, because we didn't care for that kind of excitement at the time.
- CasandraTP00Just fabulousI’m not good with heights in any form so I even wondered why I even choose to do this, but thought why not as I probably wouldn’t get the chance to do the steepest zip line again. I was travelling with my 15 yr old son and 84 yr old mother and we picked the package that combined the Flying Dutchman, the Sentry Hill Zip Line and the Schooner Ride and so pleased we did. You go up to the different levels via the cable car and you get an amazing view of St Maarten. First stop is the Schooner Ride which is a tube type going down the hill. This was an ok ride and to be honest not needed. The next was the Sentry Hill Zip line which consists of 4 Zip lines going across the hill in harnesses and is a good way to get you ready for the main steep Flying Dutchman. At the top is a bar and amazing views of the island, the perfect place to take photos of the island. Once you get to the top make sure you put your name down for the FD as it goes in that order, not the order you arrive to the top. The FD you are in a harnessed chair and launched down the mountain on a flight line dropping 1050 feet in elevation over 2800 ft. The adrenaline is amazing and even though I was scared so worth doing it. The staff are amazing and helpful and make you feel safe. They take photos all the way down that you can purchase but they are not cheap. There is also a museum which is definitely worth looking at and is very informative. Admittedly the chairlift is a bit tatty as are the tubes but I would definitely recommend doing this as it is a great experience and one for the bucket list.
- Reagan T00Thrilling and Totally Worth ItWe loved the zipline tours. We opted not to do the big 3. Other reviews said the schooner ride was just okay and waits could be long, so we stuck with the 2 zip lines. We booked on their website because they were running a deal through the end of June, and we filled out our waivers ahead of time. We arrived around 10:45 or so and had a very short wait for the chairlift. The staff running the chairlift were kind, patient, and informative. No issues. There was a large group ahead of us on the canopy zip line, so we had a bit of a wait for them to come back with the harnesses. Again, the staff were very kind and patient. It was a great warm up for the Flying Dutchman. Once the canopy tour was over, you take another small chairlift to the Flying Dutchman. There are some absolutely beautiful views. We did not get drinks at the bar. We went ahead and got in line to beat the crowds. Another short wait, and then we were off. The initial drop takes your breath away, and then it's smooth sailing until the end. Once again, the staff explained everything clearly and was very kind. Spread your legs and lean back as you stop at the bottom. I DID NOT want to do this at all ahead of time and was very nervous, but am so glad I did. If you're looking for a thrilling experience while on the island, look no further.
- rexannap00Flying Dutchman and other zip lines are great.I enjoyed tremendously. The staff made me feel comfortable the entire time. Loved it and would do again.
- Sherpa1432504994100I guessed wrong and never made it to the big hill. Tour descriptions? The cable car ride up and down was wonderful. Everything in between was not. I was looking forward to my first-ever ZipLine experience on the big hill but getting there was frustrating: no separate windows for reservations or walk-ins and three different lines for various checkpoints before we could head on up. When we landed at the first stop I got a rude surprise. Due to the complete lack of descriptions for each cleverly-named option, I had guessed wrong and ended up with tickets for a different “tour” halfway up the hill. As the host for my group, I ended up holding everybody else’s stuff while they did the one where you change zip lines several times. So, no zip for me at all.
- GoingPlacesWandering00Great gift / sky explorerOur adult children gave us this as a gift for our trip to St Martin — excursions make wonderful gifts!! We did the sky explorer. Despite the fact that it was the only day it rained during our 2 week trip it was still beautiful. All that you could see from the top of Sentry Hill was spectacular. 360 degrees. What a sight to behold. The walkways where perfect to stroll on. We stopped into the Emilio Wilson Museum after and while it’s not big it was very informative and we enjoyed strolling through it. There is zip lines and other activities here as well but we enjoyed the glide up and just walking around the top and gliding back down again!
- T8826JKkaym00Great Zipline Ride!We have ziplined before but this did not disappoint. They flying dutchman is really not as scary as it looks! You don't really free fall from the top. The speed is controlled and it only last about a minute. I really liked that we got to sit and hang on rather than being in straps and holding on to the top! It went so fast I didn't even look at the views, however, the views from the top are outstanding!! You don't have to do the zipline to see the views. Just take the tram to the top. We had a fun time. We had lunch after our zipline adventure. Highly recommend this.
- 138alp00Oh, The ViewsWe stayed a week at a resort in Maho, and decided to visit this attraction on a Tuesday. When our driver picked us up, we had anticipated doing the Sky Explorer first-but she let us know it did not open until 11. So...we did some Phillipsburg Shopping in the AM, and arrived at the Rainforest Adventures about 11:15. We were wanting to go early before the sun got hot-but the day we went was partly cloudy-and probably the least hot of the days we were in St. Maarten. We had absolutely no wait, and it was not busy at all. We chose to do the Sky Explorer going both up and down. Super relaxing-not at all scary. We had ziplined before, and decided that the views weren't worth the zipping. We got a very nice senior citizen discount, and paid $38 each. Definitely worth it! At the top, the views are absolutely incredible. We got to see the airplane runway from the mountain that we had observed from the beach. So cool. There's a bar at the top-so we had a beer and hung out enjoying the views. After taking Sky Explorer back down we enjoyed a delicious lunch on the Patio at Emilio's.

I went on a Tuesday mid day paid online in advance and had a 1pm reservation. Upon arrival there were two buses of cruise ship passengers who were all let through the entrance at the same time. The entry process was very disorganized no one knew which line to get in and there were no signs to help. Once inside I rode the chairlift to the top which took 30 minutes. Once a top the mountain there's an observation deck to take pictures. The views were stunning and this was the best part of the experience. After the observation deck you have to get in line and sign up for the flying Dutchman experience. Again no signage to tell people that you need to put your name on the list. The line moved incredibly slow and it's smoldering hot a top the mountain with no shade whatsoever. It took about 2.5 hours to get through the line once I got my turn to zipline it was over in 45 seconds. The zipline itself was fun but I dont think it's worth the price. The park could do a better job at notifying people of the expected wait times. They also over booked only 4 people can go down the Dutchman zipline and they do it in pairs 2 at a time. They booked at least 150 people within the same hour 1-2 hour window and couldn't accommodate that many guests at the same time. Multiple people had to get out of line due to having to catch the bus back to their cruise ship. If you decide to try this experience plan to be at the park for 3-4 hours. Bring cash for the bar and bring cold water or you'll be miserable while waiting in line. Also look for coupons I paid 99.00 and it was honestly too much for the experience. The staff was also rude and indifferent.

We’re bought tickets for the Big 3 and were told when arrived that The Flying Dutchman was closed for maintenance. I get it…things have to be maintained, but it would have been nice to know in advance. We chose to request a refund (supposed to be processed within 5-7 days) for The Flying Dutchman and did the Zipline and Schooner which were both fun activities and the views were phenomenal. That was July 4th. Despite having reached out via email on numerous occasions, we still have not received the refund (which was a significant amount given we had 4 people). While the experience was fun, I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle.

After making reservations online and paying 7 of us went there by taxi but once we arrived they told us they were closed. We are glad we payed by Credit card because they wouldn’t even refund us. So very disappointed in this venue as we wanted to try it as we heard many good things. While we were waiting to speak to someone another family, this time of 4 people arrived and they said they called and were informed they were open. I don’t know the issue but I won’t go back.

Dear The_Traveling_Bug_2,
Sorry to hear you had a not so favorable experience when visiting the park. We do try our best to communicate to all partners and online platforms on the park's scheduled opening and closed todays. Unfortunately, there must have been a miscommunication on the opening days and we do apologize for this inconvenience.
We understand your time spent on the island is precious and no point did we intend on ruining that for you.
Thanks for the feedback.

We have been on many vacations that offered zip lining, this was the first time I had the courage to take on the adventure. When you arrive you are asked to sign a digital 'waiver' and you are weighed. After you are taken up the mountain in 2 separate chair lifts. One runs parallel to the mountain, the other takes you to the top. At the top you have a majestic view of St Martin and neighboring islands.
The area to actually get prepared for the zip line was a bit chaotic. There were people standing everywhere. We stool for about 10 minutes before we learned we had to add our name to the list. The women facilitating the ride was direct, giving specific instruction and redirected those who were not following her instruction.
This was not an activity I though I would need sunscreen for but you do. There is very little shade and you are standing around in the sun for a while. After waiting over an hour we were called up, you are given a disposable hair cap, helmet and verbal instructions.
The ride was amazing! I never felt the feeling of falling but gliding, at 56 MPH it was a smooth ride. The stomach drop felling never happened, it was an awesome experience, I would definitely do it again. Zip lining is now on my vacation to-do-list.

Hi distewave,
Thank you for the 5 star review!
We're happy to hear you overcame your fears with us and conquered The Steepest Zipline in The World! The Flying Dutchman is definitely a must do activity when visiting our beautiful 37 square mile island.
Indeed, the views at the top of Sentry Hill is like no other! Panoramic Views of the entire island with vistas of neighboring islands, It's the perfect backdrop for family portraits and selfies.
We understand the queue for the ziplines was a bit unexpected and could be better organized
for an improve experience as you wait for the main attraction. Our operations team is aware of this and we're continuously working on ways to make this experience much better for our guests.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us,
We can't wait to welcome you back to the park!

Do NOT pay in advance. Booked well in advance, paid in full, and received multiple emails so we knew they had our contact information. Took a taxi from the cruise terminal only to find out they were not operating that day. No rain, no reason other than it wasn't running that day. Despite being assured we would receive a refund, we have only received a partial refund and the company refuses to respond further. IF you go, wait until you get there to make sure it is operational on the day you go before you pay them anything.

We had a great time here today. A very special thank you to Esmerald who was one of the attendants on the Flying Dutchman. It was quite hot today and allowed us to wait in the shade before our turn. An unruly woman attempted to cut us in line and she very respectfully told her that we had been waiting. Esmerald handled the situation very well although the rude lady stormed off like a 5 year old child who didn't get what she wanted. Thank you to the entire staff who made us feel welcomed and safe! We wi.misy definitely visit again!

I had the best time in St. Maarten at the Rainforest Adventures. I was extremely nervous because I'm afraid of heights. A young man named Juwencio was in charge of the Zipline that day and he made me feel so safe and secure. He was very professional and reassured us that it was safe. All of the young men that worked with him did an outstanding job of making sure we were safe. I had trouble walking up to the Zipline area and they helped me. They went above & beyond. They definitely need a raise!!! There was also a lady who talked me through getting on the Flying Dutchman. Even the bartenders reassured us that there was nothing to be scared of. All of the staff is great! Once I completed these adventures, I felt a sense of accomplishment. It was so exhilarating!!! If you’re in St. Maarten don't miss out on this great adventure and the wonderful staff too!!!

The website is misleading. It lets you book for ages 3+, but no child would meet the requirements to actually ride anything. We were denied entry with our child and the lady at the ticket office was rude and said there was nothing she could do to refund our money. She said to just email the website and basically just motioned us off. I have used this business in the past and they were a little rude then also. At that time we had booked all of the activities for two adults, but one was closed. They did not want to refund part of our booking then either. It was annoying to have to email and hope to get a refund.

This is the biggest waste of money and time I have ever encountered. I paid $270 for my daughter and I to have a fun afternoon. What we experienced was two hours of torture and 30 seconds of zip time. When we arrived, we got on a super slow lift chair that took 30 minutes to get to the top of the hill (I felt like a chicken being slowly roasted under the blazing sun). Once we got to the Flying Dutchman, we found a group of people staying mostly in the sun in various stages of heat stroke. We were asked to put our name on the list and the lady told us “babe it will be at least an hour and a half wait until your turn:” I thought this is odd since I had to choose a time when we signed up online so I asked again if this is a mistake. She looked at me and said “no, everyone has been waiting for over an hour!” No wonder they were all melting and red in the face.
We took the lift back down and asked for a refund because I couldn’t handle the heat and sun. And we didn’t want to waste our precious vacation time just sitting and waiting. The managers emphatically told us we can’t have a refund because this is “part of the experience”! Wow!!
For anyone considering this activity, please do not waste your time and money. It is the biggest scam that will leave me scarred for a long time.

Dear Eps1234567,
Sorry to hear you had a not so favorable experience at our Eco Adventure park. We understand your time spent on the island is precious and had no intention of making your adventure a not so fun one. Depending on park capacity, the Flying Dutchman can have an average waiting time of anywhere between 1,5 - 2,5 hours.
Unfortunately, on the day you visited, the queue was longer than anticipated. As it tends to get much warmer at the top of one of the highest peaks on the Dutch side, We often recommend to guests to walk with sun screen.
Your feedback is important to us as we're continuously looking for ways to improve guest's experiences at the park. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, our Operations team is working on improving the activity queues to ensure each guest's expectations are met as they wait to experience the The Steepest Zipline in the World.

The first thing is when you go to this place, you have to pay five dollars to keep your bag in the locker and not carry them around. You don't have a choice. It takes a very very long time to get up the hill on the lift. I was expecting the flying dutchman to be very big, it's not a huge adreneline rush. Not the hype. You can only ride once.. Lost more than an hour on the lift. All for one hundred dollars.
The only thing I can say is that the staff is very nice.

So my wife & I are doing a bus tour in the morning. Should be finished between 1PM & 2PM. Is it possible to get to your venue & do the Explorer ride to the top & then do the Flying Dutchman down & get back to the cruise ship by around 4:30 ? The departure time is set for 5:00 PM on Explorer of the Seas. We will be there on 12/27 if that makes any difference. We would purchase tickets now for like a 2 to 3 PM if that would guarantee us a spot. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

They do not pick up from the resorts. The drive is about a 15 minute drive from Divi Little Bay.

We just booked, but does this include pick up at our hotel or do we have to get ourselves there? There is also not time to report. Thank you

You are assigned a time but the wait time once you get to the top is an hour.

Does This take all day to do do all three activities? Or is it just a couple hours?

If you do all the activities, take time out for photographs up at the top, sit and have a drink and roam the gift shop and ride the chairlift up/down, you'll be done in less than 3 hours. The day we went, there was just one ship in port, so expect the time to increase with the number of ships in port.
