About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Vacation7533210 contributionsFun half dayKayaking was challenging but fun. We saw a large turtle and many colorful fish. I don't remember our guide's name but he was terrific.Written May 21, 2024
- 675barbt0 contributionsBeautiful scenic hike on St Maarten!Mike and Alexandra took us on a majestic 3 mile hike on the coastal Dutch side of St Maarten! Beautiful views of the ocean, nature, and even some goats and iguanas! They gave us fantastic historical and geographical info of the island! Would highly recommend!!Written April 16, 2024
- hollydace0 contributionsExcellent tourWe were a group of 4, 2 couples. We visited as part of our cruise. We found Pablo in the cruise port as detailed in the email. We had problems getting WiFi on the ship to download our tickets but this wasn't a problem. We were introduced to Benson, our guide, he went through all the details of the e-bike and issued helmets and water to us all. We also had a test run in the car park. Off we went on a fantastic tour of the island, Benson was very friendly and informative. We stopped off half way at a beautiful beach for a drink. The traffic was a little busy on the way back but we cycle at home so this wasn't a problem. This was probably the best tour of our holiday. We hope to visit again next year and will be back for another tour. Thank you and special thanks to Benson.Written February 5, 2023
- chifchaf0 contributionsNot as described - very busy trafficIt was a great booking process and staff. Bikes were good quality. Our aim was to cycle from the cruise port to the lagoon. We were given really good instructions. I imagined cycling on a Caribbean island would be chilled, with lots of beach stops etc. However, this was very far from the truth. The roads had constant, noisy traffic, with lots of lorries. If we could have dumped the bikes after the first half an hour, we would have done. It was such a stressful experience. My life flashed before my eyes several times, we had to cross really busy roads. We did drop the bikes at the Trisport shop in Simpson Bay, about 90 minutes after we picked them up. We tried to say that the bike hire wasn't described very accurately. The shop staff just kept invalidating our stressful experience and saying 'well that's what the traffic is like on St Maarten, we don't have bike lanes'. Eventually they agreed to a 50% discount ($55). We found a lovely beach nearby, but we're advised to leave TWO HOURS to get back to the ship by taxi, due to the usual heavy traffic. It was only 8 miles away...Says it all about the roads! If you don't mind traffic constantly thundering past you, I'm sure you'd have a pleasant day on the bikes, but I would never do this again on this island!Written December 29, 2022
- kazreeves0 contributionsKayaking and snorkelling experience to rememberJust had an amazing morning kayaking and snorkelling with 3 great guys who took 23 of us on a caribbean boot camp!!! Seriously it was a tough ride as sea was rough and windy. But managed all the kayaking and swimming and proud to have done it. It was a blast and the beer at the end perfect recommend this small company if you want a great tour experience.Written March 6, 2022
- Finallybrokepar0 contributionsGem of St. Maarten Bicycle Tour - Great tour! Get an e-bike!!!My wife and I did the Gem of St. Maarten tour with one other couple as a cruise excursion. Benny was a great guide, and you see a lot of both sides of the island (French and Dutch) and learn about life there. We stopped for a drink at Orient Beach. My wife and I are in pretty good shape and used e-bikes. I can't imagine doing this tour on a regular bike as there are some decent hills. We moved pretty quickly and had some extra time so Benny took us up a huge hill near the cruise port for a great view of the port/islands. No way could this have been done on a regular bike. For the extra $10, get the ebike. Best investment of $10 you will make.Written February 21, 2022
- Jenny Z0 contributionsGuana Bay Hike - Incredible and 100% worth it!We did the Guana Bay hike and it was one of the best experiences of our trip. Good shoes (at least runners, definitely not sandals) is required but otherwise for two not very active people the hike was very manageable. The views are such incredible. The only downside is that it doesn’t go all the way to the natural pool at the end of the trail. A more adventurous couple could do this alone, but we very much enjoyed the knowledgeable company of our guide Marci in what turned out to be a private hike!Written December 31, 2020
- G4826EBsuem0 contributionsGreat time! This proved to be a great experience for our family of five. It was just the right amount of kayaking and snorkeling to have a fun time. Our instructor, Chris, was very personable, knowledgeable and patient. He made it all worthwhile. Liked the drinks afterwards. Would highly recommend for families or novice kayakers/snorklers looking to have a good time without spending a small fortune.Written March 29, 2020
- kschmidt20200 contributionsElectric Bike tourMy husband and I took TriSports electric bike tour from the Cruise Ship Harbour in St. Maarten. It was an amazing tour through the streets of St. Maarten. Our tour guide was Otis who took care of us and was some how able to see everything in front of us and behind us at once. He guided us through traffic, which unnerved me until I realized that Otis was in control and the drivers were extremely careful and courteous. They seemed to be looking out for us possibly because tourism is an important industry for the island. If you're in reasonably good physical condition this could be a great excursion for you.Written February 2, 2020
- Lasav120 contributionsBiking St MaartenA great company to deal with. All that was promised. Easy access from cruise port. Excellent bikes. Owner gave us a great map. Provided repair kit and pump. Timely delivery of bikes. Not for the faint of heart. A challenging ride to be sure. Lots of steep hills that we walked but the views were spectacular. Highly recommend this company. Great value and terrific experienceWritten January 12, 2020
- Flyer1008640 contributionsElectric bike tourMy husband and I took the electric bike tour of St. Maarten. It was a great way to see the island. It was a 3 hour tour and we toured the Dutch side. Otis was our guide and he was great guiding us through traffic and up the hills, giving each of us personal attention. He has an exceptional ability to see in all directions at once. I highly recommend this tour for people of any age who are reasonably fit.Written January 1, 2020
- annemQ4365PK0 contributionsSimpson Bay,Christmas Eve Day 2019My 3 adult children, 2 SOs and I spent a beautiful morning kayaking and snorkeling. The excursion was well-organized and low-key with our smart, friendly leaders! My daughter Meredith had a broken leg (no cast) and the guys were very attentive to her, helping her in and out of the kayak and offering to carry her gear and lend an arm. So appreciated!! Everyone happy!Written December 31, 2019

- Michael Ann E0 contributionsAdventure amazing race!!Super nice group of leaders. The race was pricy for an hour activity (about $250 for four). We did have a great time and saw a lot of st. Maarten. I would suggest to the team that it is more interactive with island activities. We did the Cozumel race and the activities were much more island related... Had to get a henna tattoo that was a clue, had to use a monument to decifer a clue, find answers in a museum, travel on a glass bottom boat and dive to get a clue, search through a local market for a vendor and then shuck corn to find a clue..... The st. Maarten race was all running from one place to the next and doing physical challenges or answering questions. Not really doing anything related to the island other than seeing some sites. It would have been nice if we could have all seen the museum but only two team members could go. The swim was 10 feet off shore... I just think the interactive things you do could be much more connected to the actual way of life or tourist activities. Also, the leaders could have been more quick with the clues. Some teams really come to play a RACE. it's hard to race when the leaders are not quick with the clues.Written August 8, 2019
- bastianbahr0 contributionsGreat TimeLuca and Javi were amazing. We really had a good time. We came with a group from a cruise with all ages. They took their time to explain everything and did it in a very fun way. First we were kayaking to the beach, then wen went snorkeling and after that we all got a free drink from the bar. It was really a good time with those teo and I would definitely do it again.Written April 20, 2019

We paid for this experience in advance. On the morning of the tour, we called to confirm since it was raining (even our taxi driver said it was raining too hard for a safe bike ride) and were told to come to the meeting place since they expected the rain to clear shortly. The "meeting place" is a parking lot on the other side of a high fence from the bike office...only cruise passengers are permitted inside the area. We sat on wet folding chairs in the rain for an hour and called the operator multiple times for assistance (answer "still waiting"). Finally, the operator's son told us the trip was canceled and a second employee (female) confirmed that they would refund our money. NO REFUND HAS BEEN ISSUED!! While waiting for our taxi we saw the operator greeting a group from a cruise ship and bringing bikes out (the rain had stopped, the road still very wet). One of the customers near the fence (on the "right" side of the fence!) told us the cruise ship group was late so the operator had delayed the trip to accommodate them (although the weather was surely a secondary concern). No staff member approached us to apologize, offer us the opportunity to participate (now that the important customers had arrived, etc.).

Hello Kathleen, I am sorry to hear that the communication was unfruitful. Certainly a very challenging day with the rain. Normally showers at this time of the year pass in 10 minutes. The cruise group you were joining was held up also under a tent for the conditions to better. i understand your disappointment if you were not invited to join. I was under the understanding you were told. We will try a better communication with external guest that are not coming on cruise ships. Thanks for bringing the matter to our attention.

We agree with Kathleen V although our experience was a bit different. Our tour was scheduled for 8:30 am and our cruise ship docked at 8:00. We rushed off the boat and found the bike office after asking numerous folks where it was. Turned out to be just bikes parked near a bus terminal. We were told we missed our tour because ship time and St Maarten time is an hour different! Please be aware of this!!! We too were told we could get a refund, and since the guy on the ground did not have any business cards, he had us take a photo of his websites. When we submitted this for a refund, we were denied. We use trip advisor often and we highly discourage this company as they tell different stories than what to expect. Bikes did not look like they were maintained either. Stay clear.

We are very sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience.
Our tours cater to both cruise ship passengers and stay over guests, which is why we keep the bicycles close to the entrance so that those not on a cruise can join our tours without the hassle of getting a visitor’s pass at the main gate.
Any cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance in order to be refunded. Of course, if a tour is canceled due to weather conditions, then your payment is fully refundable. Unfortunately, in your case, you arrived late at the start, not due to our negligence, in which case, your deposit is non refundable. TripAdvisor can certainly contact us if they take responsibility for your late arrival.
Our bicycles are Trek FX2 model 2020 and are frequently maintained as we are Trek USA distributors since 1992 and own 2 bike shops on Island.
Hope we can take you and yours on a bike tour next time so that you can have a real feel of the company.
Yours in sports, JP

This was a really great trip, just as advertised. The guide was considerate and friendly, and knew a lot! We did the e-bike tour, and it was just what we wanted. Good for me, as I bike about this much per day at home, and also great for my wife who was worried about biking up hills. Chris was a wonderful guide, and we appreciated the complimentary beverage on the beach towards the end of the tour. Good times!

Fun tour. Not too strenuous except the first hill. Beachwalk was kind of crowded making it hard to bike. The tour itself was awesome though but be prepared for traffic, heat and humidity. Bring plenty of water and you’ll be fine. You also have an opportunity for a quick dip in the ocean so bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Fun and easy! Use a e- bike. Marcy was caring and professional with our safety in mind. It’s a great way to see Phillsburg. Perfect for active seniors with many rest stops. She brought us water and if we fell behind she waited, no rush. We really learned a bit of history as we biked, even a stop at the steel drum school! Great rum punch at the beach as we made new friends. I highly recommend this.

A wonderful half day experience with a friendly, engaging and knowledgeable guide. It gave us a great overview to this beautiful island. Thoroughly recommend to get an interesting potted history of the island and its people.

Very nice, leisurely way to see Philipsburg. Marcy our guide was knowledgeable about the area. Bikes were in good shape, only needed to use a few of the gears. Stop near the end for a cold drink was a nice touch.

Excursion from the ship. Janel was a terrific tour guide, very informative and funny. A small hill at first but then flat the rest of the way. There is 30 minutes to swim at the end, we brought out swimsuits and if felt great to get in the water. Most in our group did not swim, not sure why.

Great way to see some of Philipsburg. Bikes are right at the cruise terminal and guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and fun to be around. Tour was on the streets and then the beach boardwalk for the most part. Was crowded but worked well.
