Nice tour. Once was enough though.
Adventure started out rough. Booked the tour and got the receipt. Sent a couple unanswered follow up questions about how to get to their detached dive shop like in the instructions. We lodged within eye sight of the shop so thought we could figure it out. The morning we walked down to the board walk to look for the ferry over to the dive shop. A man, not wearing anything that said Dive Fair Helen " came up to us and asked if we were going snorkeling? For some reason I affirmed this question and he said to come with him he will take us and will be out guide. Well alarm bells are ringing my head if you know anything about the island outside of a resort and how helpful people want to be for some money. He told us to wait at a table and he'd be back with paperwork. The paper had nothing on it that said Dive Fair Helen and I still didn't know how we were getting to the dive shop like booking said to. I called the phone number DFH a couple times and no one answered. Finally asked a waitress in the dock restaurant about where the ferry was over to the dive shop and she told me the boat was parked on this side of bay and told me where I could go see it. We did and the boat said Dive Fair Helen. This was somewhat comforting and mind you we were the only ones there for 30+ minutes and time we were to be at dive shop was now. Shortly after 2 other couple groups that were taxied in from other locations came into the restaurant area and said they were there for the snorkeling. This made me feel better. After this the tour went well. The guy that initially approached us was actually the guide and did a good job. The food was on par for St Lucia and a nice snack, dont expect a meal. The dive sites were 2 reefs along the coast. One had a bunch of tiny jellyfish that bit the whole group and we were only at that site 5 min. They don't have first-aid cream or vinegar on boat so be ready. The stings mostly were gone by time tour was over. Am I glad we did it, yes. Would I do it again, No. Communication was non existent and the confusion starting the day was not helpful. Signs and/or shirts identifying DFH would have been very helpful.

        Fantastic Snorkeling Trip
Fantastic snorkeling trip! We had 2 families with 4 adults and 4 kids ages 12-14. Crew was super knowledgeable and helpful. They kept a close eye on us from the boat and water. We stopped at 2 places and saw many different kinds of fish, corral, etc. Boat was big enough to easily move around. They provided life vests for less experienced swimmers (and adults who wanted to float lazily in the water!) At the second stop, the boat could not anchor so they had to keep moving around. We had about a 50 yard swim to the boat at its furthest point, so make sure younger kids either have the life vest or are strong swimmers. Lunch was delicious - chicken, rice, noodles and beans. Elvis picked us up from our hotel and was a great driver. Just keep in mind that it can take 45 min+ to get from the north part of the island to Marigot Bay due to traffic. We had our pick up around 8:15am and returned back to the hotel around 3:30pm. Highly recommend Dive Fair Helen!!

        Bad beginners dive experience
We initially booked the snorkeling, but added the beginners dive on a couple days before the excursion. The transfer from the hotel was long, there was no air-conditioning in the minibus so we had the windows open, but this doesn't help when your stuck in traffic. The driver Elvis however was very nice and we felt safe on the crazy roads. When we got to the boat, it seemed crowded, not enough seats for everyone mainly due to the diving equipment taking up a lot of space. I have done a couple beginners dives before in Egypt, and it has always been one diver per person, so I was surprised when we were told we had one diver between me and my friend. We had to jump into the water with the equipment on, which I was told we wouldn't need to do before booking, as I was told it would be from the beach. We had a very brief tutorial at the back of the boat, but the sea was rough so this didn't help. We then got back on the boat and went to shallower water near the beach. My friend was very nervous and wasn't going to carry on, but the diving instructor took her arm and guided her. However this ment I was left behind a lot. I was struggling to swim down. The diving instructor eventually saw, and helped me down, but then swam off again. Felt like I was not being assisted as much as I should for a first dive. At One point I panicked as I swallowed some water and choaked and my goggles filled up, I struggled to swim to the surface by myself as in the panic I couldn't find the valve to inflate the jacket. Everytime I've done the dive before I've had an instructor by myside to help me. So unfortunately I would not recommend this for beginner divers. I did not feel safe unfortunately After the diving we went to a second site where we could snorkel, however the visibility wasn't good. Apparently the first site was good snorkeling, but I missed this as we did the dive, but didn't see much on the dive as wasn't relaxed. I very rarely write reviews, but unfortunately felt the need for this as I didn't feel safe, and a bad experience can put me off from diving again

Excellent excursion, beautiful island and reef, solid dive master!
We were picked up a few minutes late. A large family group of snorkelers was also on our dive boat. The family was very grumpy about the late pickup, being divided between two vans, and spent much of the time complaining about the need to return on time to the ship. I suspect they are the source of the negative review below. In our experience the driver, Elvis, was very skilled and charming. The boat was captained by owner and divemaster Andre St. Omer. I have been a certified diver for nearly 40 years, but signed up for a discover scuba excursion with my wife who is new to the sport with only a few similar courses under her weight belt. After sailing us to the dive site, Andre provided a basic orientation on the boat while the snorkelers took to the water. Andre then went through a quick but comprehensive basic skills, safety procedures, and hand signals just off the beach in chest height water. Once everyone had mastered the basics, we went on a very nice shallow dive (roughly 25 feet) along a clear and active reef. Andre pointed out fish, eels, and coral along the way while keeping a close eye on the divers. At one point, two of the six divers headed back in with one of the dive masters as one was having trouble with equalization. After our dive, we were able to join the snorkelers and see additional parts of the reef. The water was clear, and the scenery was breathtaking. The equipment was in good condition and modern. Back on the boat, Andre and his team provided an unexpected but delicious lunch of chicken, rice, beans, and mac and cheese. We and the snorkelers were offered the chance to snorkel at a second site, but the leader of our unhappy companions was adamant about heading back to the ship. Andre assured us we had ample time to visit the second site and snorkel. He even put it to a vote. We did not want to fight with the other guests, but I believe Andre was right. So, my advice is to try to go on a dive trip that is limited to divers who agree up front to the agenda and timetable. I recommend DIve Fair Helen and Captain Andre and would like to return for some longer open water dives.

        Late picking us up
The company was more than 30 minutes late picking us up from our cruise port. When we arrived, we had to pay taxes which further delayed us (not sure why this wasn’t included in the original price). Due to the fact that we were late being picked up, we had to skip the second snorkel site, which was very disappointing as we paid for this. The boat captain told us we could either go to the second site, or go back to the dock and not get any sort of money back for missing the second dive site. It would have been impossible to attend the second dive site and make it back to the cruise ship in time, but the captain made it seem like we had a choice. Very disappointing. The snorkelling itself was pretty cool, with clear water, lots of fish and eels. The equipment was cheap, but our guide in the water showed us some cool stuff. Would not recommend this excursion due to the fact that their delay caused us not to see the second snorkel site.

        Great day out
We signed up for the snorkeling tour and had a great time. Elvis who picked us up was charming and caring. Quite a long drive from Rodney bay but Marigot is beautiful. We were in a mixed scuba/snorkeling group (about 12 of us) so there was a bit of waiting around while they got scuba divers sorted. Boat trip to site was pretty quick and then plenty of guided snorkeling. Saw lots of different fish on 2 sites. Great crew who gave us a small but very nice lunch. Highly recommend.

Not to miss snorkel trip in St Lucia
Had a great day snorkeling with Andres and his crew. He made sure we saw some of the best spots in St Lucia and it didn’t disappoint. The homemade lunch on board was very good. Was one of the best days we spent during our vacation in St Lucia.

        A GREAT VALUE AND EXERIENCE
This was the best tour we took on our 5 day visit! It is very well organized giving divers and snorkelers two different periods in the water. The lunch in between was very good and a perfect break in between dives. The owner was very hands on in picking us up from our hotel and in guiding and coordinating a smooth and most enjoyable day. A true value!!!

Nice snorkeling with a great lunch
Very nice trip. EXCELLENT LUNCH, by Sam. Had some difficulty getting picked up in Anse La Ray—the driver didn’t want to take directions and insisted he pick us up at the town pier, which was a 15 minute walk through traffic from our lodging.

        Great snorkelling trip
A great little trip out with lovely staff, a really enjoyable day. We snorkelled - both times at Anse Cochon which was a little disappointing as we did expect two different locations. They drop off the divers then drop off the snorkellers for about 40 mins and then the boat goes back and forth checking on the divers and snorkellers. First time we went to the west side of Anse cochon and the second we went to the east side then we had lunch and returned. Trip ended at 1pm not the advertised 3pm. The staff weren’t great and very knowledgeable and kind, we felt very safe. It was a fabulous trip.

        Great trip
Fantastic trip. The boat ride was great. You could dive or snorkel and the staff were really helpful . We went on a day where the waters were a bit rough so it was hard for a beginner but enjoyable. The food was great too. Great trip all round.

        SPECTACULAR!
Genuinely the BEST EXPERIENCE of our entire cruise vacation! Captain Andre of Dive Fair Helen and his helper Elvis were the best hosts we coud have asked for on our snorkeling experience in St. Lucia. They picked us up at the cruise port and transported us to Marigot Bay to board their perfectly sized vessel. We had snorkeled just 7 months prior with a much larger boat/company with 30 other passengers in St. Lucia, but we instantly enjoyed the one on one attention with just 8 total tourists on Dive Fair Helen. The boat ride was fantastic with plenty of seating and shade as well as seating at the bow for sight seeing and rays of sun. They provided all the snorkeling gear we needed and anchored the boat in the most spectacular underwater experience we could have ever hoped for. Another huge positive with Dive Fair Helen is the amount of time given to snorkel. Because there were fewer people, we weren't rushed at all and were given plenty of time to explore and truly enjoy the experience. As we floated along the water's edge we saw an octopus, a squid, an eel and many different bright colored tropical fish and beautiful coral. It was truly an amazing experience and something our family will always treasure. On our way back, Captain Andre provided a delicious, home cooked meal prepared by his wife that really hit the spot. The chicken, macaroni & cheese and rice was one of the best meals we had on our week's vacation, too. We sincerely recommend this snorkeling experience through Dive Fair Helen and look forward to the next time! Thank you Andre and Elvis!

        WOW! Unforgettable Honeymoon!
We LOVED our trip with Dive Fair Helen for our honeymoon ! I did the snorkel tour and my husband did scuba for the first time. The staff was so knowledgeable and made my husband feel so comfortable in the water on his first dive. The homemade Lunch was just the icing on the cake! I would highly highly recommend Dive fair Helen to anyone visiting St. Lucia! They even drove us back around to the other side of the bay to meet our taxi and make sure we were well on our way!

Too many things for too many people on the boat. I would honestly take a pass on this operation if you are a serious diver or concerned about safety.
Three crew - boat captain, two divers for 10 SCUBA divers of varying degrees experience, two discover SCUBA divers and 6-8 snorkelers.
The tour started 55 minutes late as a half dozen divers arrived 10 minutes before the boat departed. They allowed them on. We carried all our gear through a resort then waited in the sun for 20 minutes for the boat to arrive. They checked the divers for their C cards on the way to the first dive site.
After our first dive when we surfaced, we waited briefly for the boat to arrive.
During the surface interval, we witnessed a local kayaker the crew obviously knew hand off a baggie to one of the crew members.
We had a basic lunch with a chicken drumstick, baked macaroni, rice and coleslaw salad. Then the crew had the snorkelers go ashore. Ten scuba divers remained on the boat and the captain gave us instructions “not to start the boat” which we thought a bit odd. What I later realized was that the two remaining crew left the ten of us onboard while they went ashore for 30 minutes! No joking. The other crew member was out with the discover scuba divers, off the boat too. If they had a problem, there would not have been anyone to take the boat to them. I have never, ever been on a dive where the boat captain leaves his boat unattended.
The second dive at a wreck was uneventful. Strong current, no tow line. The guide allowed us to explore around the wreck on our own after an initial pass around the base at 60 ft. He did stress to not return deeper after that and to remain at 40 ft where the deck was until surfacing.
We set up our own gear and changed it during the surface interval. Not a problem, but some may be looking for a full service operation.
At the completion of the dives and en route back to the resort, I asked our dive guide to stamp and sign our dive logs. He did not know his number and opted not to sign our books. He did find a stamp behind the counter. This led me to question if he was actually certified.
The dive included ship transfers and we got back to port at 4pm for a 5 pm all aboard.
Nothing bad happened to us or anyone on board, but I do have safety concerns about what transpired. This wasn’t a normal scuba dive boat operation and it felt like just a boat taking tourists out for a day of sun and snorkeling rather than a professional operation.

Great two days of diving. There were four of us. They added two to our group and had a very nice and attentive guide. We always felt safe and well taken care of. All four dives were different and exciting. Amazing variety of coral and fish. A family operation with Father as Dive master and other family leading tours. Mom even made a fantastic lunch for between dives. Highly Recommend.

We were picked up and dropped off from our cruise ship and driven through tons of windy, steep roads to the dive shop. Very friendly service but it was pretty disorganized when we checked in and got our gear. But after that, everything was very good. The dives sites were nice and things on the boat went well. The only issue I had was that my tanks only had 2800 and 2700 psi instead of 3000+. I'm a very experienced diver so I wasn't very impacted but still.....Overall, a very nice experience and friendly, helpful staff.

Thanks for your review. Yes, the drive can seem long, but it is beautifully tropical though. Some days can be a little hectic when everyone get there at the same time and all have equipment needs. We do our best to be quick about it. We are sorry to hear that your tanks did not have 3000 psi - We do apologise - but also happy that this didn't spoil your diving experience. We do appreciate your review and have changed the equipment needs aspect of the tour. Thanks for choosing Dive Fair Helen. Safe diving!

We had a great time scuba diving here from a cruise ship. They picked us and took us to the dive shop and boat. The dive sites were not far away. The lunch on the way back on the boat was delicious. They got us back to the cruise port with plenty of time to spare. It was a great excursion.

We had a great diving trip with Dive Fair Helen. We were picked up from our resort at the north end of the island which was really convenient. The dive locations selected were great and the crew was experienced and knowledgeable. Lunch was great. Some of the best food we had on the trip. I would definitely recommend Dive Fair Helen. We received personalized attention that we might not have received with larger tour companies.

We dove with Captain Andres and visited Anse Cochon for two dives. The Captain is a marine biologist and researcher. He has a deep knowledge and obvious passion for his island. The dives were lovely.Vanessa took great care of us on shore.

Our day was an adventure…. Lunch provided by Captain Andre was very good… My dive Buddy and I are very skilled SCUBA divers, and we liked Andres hospitality. I could not locate an Oxygen, AED, and First Aid kit in or on the boat… These are very important and should be mandatory for all charter boats operating SCUBA and Snorkeling excursions and charters… If I am mistaken, and you have these support/ rescue devices on your charter boat, I apologize….I was not able to personally locate them… Captain Andre does pick you up promptly from your location… Overall, our day was a fun adventure!

Thanks for your review and we are happy that you had a wonderful time. We do have Oxygen, First Aid Kit, fire extinguishers, distress signaling devices, life jackets, etc. on the dive boat as it is a requirement for our operating licence. The staff should have mentioned it in the briefing and indicate where it is located. It usually kept in the cabin near the life jackets for the bulky items and cupboard for the first aid kit as we cannot leave them on the deck. We will ensure in the future that these rescue/support devices are always displayed or indicated to our customers. Thanks for choosing Dive Fair Helen for your diving adventure in St Lucia. Kind regards Sam

I 100% recommend Dive Fair Helen and will definitely dive with them again! I went on a 2-tank dive and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. They provided transportation to and from the hotel, which was punctual and comfortable. The boat crew and dive master were super friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. The dive sites were stunning and truly unique. Plus, the lunch cooked by one of the crew’s wives was absolutely delicious.
