      Okay
Driver was great. Tour guide was not a wealth of information:( Stops were too short, we were not given much, if any, information about where to go and how to make the most of our time in a location. Seemed like a big ☑️ list.

      Incredible North tour
An unforgettable experience!! The view was breathtaking, with this lush and impressive landscape. The guide was fantastic; he taught us a lot about the history of Martinique, which was very interesting. I highly recommend this north tour :)

Food Safari - Shore Excursion from Royal Clipper Cruise Ship
Joshua was a wonderful guide. He was fun, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable about Fort de France. Our tour was booked through our cruise line as a shore excursion and we didn’t know what to expect but we were glad we took the tour with Joshua who gave us tons of info and background about the town and island. He was even telling the other tour guide we passed some info that he didn’t know. I think that the food we sampled was average but we were doing a morning tour and it was probably hard to have food for us in the morning. We sampled sugar cane juice which was very sweet but refreshing on a very hot day. We had some sort of meat empanada which was tasty (fried). We went to a spice market and had time to our own to wander around. We went to a pastry shop and got to choose a pastry to our own liking. Last we went to a place for a typical breakfast which was cod and banana with some apricot juice to drink and also some rum to drink. The meal was decent but I probably wouldn’t order it on my own. One thing to note is that Joshua gave us all a bottle of water before the tour started which was great. I noticed the two other groups didn’t have water so I think he did that on his own which was very nice with the heat.

      Poor communication and oversold.
Firstly, they sent us information to meet at a hotel which was a $20 cab ride away. Everyone else was apparently giving information to meet at the cruise port dock. Once finding a Trip Advisor rep to take us back to the dock, we waited in the small bus for an English speaking guide to show up. Trip was delayed 20 minutes. Then they waited another 15 minutes at the first stop, church, for late people to catch up. Same couple was late at the 2nd stop. Stops were not memorable. I wish we had known they would not be taking us to the botanical garden.

What a scam and tourist trap!!!!!
I will start by saying that the guide was kind and professional and that this tour was planned by her company and not by her. First of all the last row in the bus had zero windows. The couples in the back were very upset unable to see anything. This tour is a gigantic tourist trap disguised as a tour of the Southern part of the island. Yes, we stopped at a memorial for slaves, we made a quick few stops to view the ocean and a trip to the beach. Most people lament in their reviews on Tripadvisor that the stop at the beach is way too short since it's the best part of the excursion. Read their reviews. It's the first red flag. Beyond the Beach is way too busy trying to drop you off at one of the tourist traps since they probably profit one way or another from the stop??? Why stop at a pottery village closed on Sunday??? Almost every shop was closed??? No one on the bus was impressed and it was a very poor begining of the tour. We also stopped at a market which sold fruit, vegetables and over priced tourist souvenirs. Lastely, we stopped at a rum factory. There was no tour, no explanations on how rum was distilled. They pour you small shot glasses hoping to sell you something. Do yourself a favor and skip this excursion which was by far the worst one on a otherwise very nice Caribbean cruise. Many people on our tour were very upset.

Carolyn did a great tour. Enjoyed what we could considering we were cut 30 minutes because of your festival/parade. Do something about that poor church!

A terrific way to see and learn about Martinique!
A terrific way to see and learn about Martinique! There were 6 of us in one van and we toured the Northern part of the island due to our ship docking there. We did nature walks, learned about the history and sipped rum! Our guide Bryce was a wonderful guide and obviously loves the island. Coordination with HQ with pick-up was excellent. We got a taste and now want to come back for a longer time!

      Outstanding tour.
Outstanding tour. This was our first visit to Martinique and marveled at the beauty of the island. Our excellent tour guide, Stephan, gave us a history of the island as we experienced the beautiful drive around southern Martinique. This is not a tour to be missed if one is on a cruise ship or holidaying in Martinique and want to see more and learn about the island.

      Amazing! Must Book with Stephane!
What a tour! We LOVED Stephane. He was truly so incredible as our guide through Northern Martinique. Our first stop was the Balata gardens in Fort-de-France. Immaculate, magnificent botanical gardens with suspended walkways high into the trees. Then stopped at the Alma River. A very tranquil place in the rainforest - would have loved to have a little picnic here! We wish we would’ve stay at this location longer it was just so wonderful. Lastly we went to St. Pierre to see the ruins from Mt. Pelée, the volcano that erupted on May 8, 1902 killing more than 30,000 people in the city of St. Pierre within minutes. Stephane went above and beyond making us feel like royalty and really diving into the history and beauty of Martinique. I highly recommend this company and especially Stephane as a tour guide!

      5 star tour company
What a top notch tour company run by Leslie ! She was always communicating to us and working with our needs . They were waiting with a sign at the exact time requested by our cruise ship. We were 2 couples in late 60’s 2 of us hurt our backs ( dragging luggage ) and our amazing tour guide Stephan was thoughtful and did everything to help us enjoy the tour . He was kind , happy and clearly loves this beautiful island . Do not hesitate to book this company 5 stars 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you Sandi and Stuart Teller

Good but not much time in Saint Pierre
It was a nice trip and good value but a couple of things need improving to make it five stars. We chose the trip as it included Saint Pierre but we were given very little time there. we were not even able to go into the very informative museum. Instead we were taken to an ugly beach with no facilities and it was a waste of time only 2 people wanted to try to swim in the 20 mins the stop allowed ( much too little for even a good beach stop). the majority would have preferred more time in Saint Pierre!!! We were not allowed to leave the guide to look around ourselves which isn’t good as we were all adults and it was only a small place. The try local food and drink on the trip was just a piece of cake that you get in most countries and the guava juice and rum, hardly local things really. the guide was good though, Caroline, very clear diction and very knowledgeable and gave us lots of info on the bus ride. The rum tasting was hit and miss and very rushed in a busy area, needed to be in a bigger area with maybe some seating.

Excellent Private Tour of the North Island
I recently hired Beyond the Beach for a private tour of the north island and could not have been happier. My guide Nathalie was excellent. She was a wonderful source of knowledge about the island, and she was a careful and safe driver on the north island’s very curvy mountain roads. I wanted to focus on Saint-Pierre (ruins, museum), as well as Jardin de Balata, with stops at Le Saut du Gendarme and a beach near Le Carbet. The tour was exactly as I had hoped, and I had a wonderful time. I highly recommend Beyond the Beach if you are looking for a private tour on the island.

The tour operators were a little bit disorganized, but finally got us all together. The van was nice but cramped. The tour leader often could be heard or understood. The beach stop needs to be at least 1 hour long so that that people can go swimming along the reef that is just off the beautiful beach. One 10 - 15 stop to a flea market could be eliminated.

Thank you Stephen for taking the time to inform us of the difficulties you encountered during your tour and to meet us at the cruise port. We are very sorry about this. During a 5 hour tour, it is true that it is complicated to show the all the best of Martinique ! Quiet difficult to satisfy everyone by staying more or less time at each stop according to everyone desires. If you want to stay longer at the beach or don't want to stop somewhere, the best option is to book a private tours ! Sincerely. Leslie from Beyond The Beach

This was an excellent tour of the Southern part of the island. Our guide, Akina, was extremely informative and displayed a very positive and bubbly attitude during the entire excursion which made it especially fun. She gave us much more information than we had expected. We had quite a few stops including Les Anse d'Arlets where we visited a beautiful church and a beach, Memorial Cap 110 which is dedicated to slaves who perished in a shipwreck, le Diamant, which is a rock outcrop which was once a fortified defense, an outdoor market which sold fruit, vegetables, spices and clothing, and also a rum factory where you could taste some of their products. A tour worth every penny..

The day started with everyone being totally wet by the rain as we got there. I think there was some issue with the car and the guide had to get another mini bus for us. I appreciated the fact we were never left alone even if we had to wait a bit.
It was very crowded and my wife got a bit anxious but the staff was very nice and competent as we understood that they were doing their best.
And now for the tour, it was absolutely wonderful. Our guide was lovely, nice and had so much knowledge that we learned a lot. At the end of the day we were so happy that we had no regrets. We loved it!

Hello Thank you for your review, first of all. We are happy to know you enjoy our shore excursion despite the unusual events that occured that day. As we know, traveling always has its shares of stress, we understand that some people might be more anxious. I'm sure our guide will be pleased to know you enjoy your shore excursion experience. Thank you again for trusting us to make you enjoy your stop on our island. Take care,

Great tour guide. Lots to see, but not long enough at the beach, which very disappointing. The beach at the market was MUCH better and would have served better. The waves were much higher which is why they chose the calmer waters but the beach was PACKED!

Stopped at Pottery Village; interesting place but some of the exhibitors were a little short when answering questions. Interesting pottery but worried about breakage so didn't buy. Loved the spices, but mostly in bags and can't take back to the US. On to Les Anses d' Arlet for a beach break; most of us just walked around the charming little town. Our guide provided some drinks and homemade cake, yum! Brief stop at Diamond Rock; didn't get the affect of a diamond, but it was so sunny out that it wasn't a distraction. On to Cap 110 sculpture, a memorial about slavery. Represents trade between Africa, Europe and America and gives one pause to realize how cruel we can be to each other. Quick stop at a local market but it was closing. Final stop was at Trois Rivieres Distillery. Good liquor, but again trying to get it home in checked luggage a challenge. A shame because it did have a good taste. All in All, a good representation of Martinique.

We waited more than 30 minutes for the tour bus. When it arrived, we found other passengers from a previous pickup on a small bus, and they weren’t happy. Why? Because the air conditioning on the bus didn’t work. I sat in the bus for about 5 minutes while random people voiced their concern over safety due to the heat. The tour guide brushed off our concerns and said it was much hotter on the beach. However, the beach has wind and water to cool you down. This had nothing and no open windows. I decided to leave, and I told them ‘I can’t do five hours riding around in that heat.’ Others joined. Within a minute or two they announced a new bus was coming. This was a coach bus (full size) and had working Air Conditioning. We were on our way.
Our first stop was some market with little shops all around. Some sold chocolates made on site. Others sold sea shells or clothing or pottery. We had 15 minutes here. It was nothing special, but if you want some souvenirs then I guess it was alright.
Our second stop was a beach. We were told that we would have 45 minutes originally, but due to heavy traffic it would just be 30 minutes. One woman voiced a mild comment about it being less time. So the guide extended the time back to 45 minutes.
The beach was pretty. It was in a cove and had a few shade trees. No umbrellas to rent. There was food, but we didn’t look around. They gave us homemade cake and some juice with a splash of rum. I saw a few coral and a few colorful fish. This was the highlight of the tour, and it was too short to enjoy much.
Our next stop was a market for 15 minutes. I didn’t even get off the bus. I don’t need to rush through shops to scavenge for anything, especially when all of these local shops often have all the same stuff.
Next we stopped 10 minutes at a memorial statue to honor the slaves unchained. We snapped some beautiful pics of the shore, the memorial, and diamond pointe.
Then we boarded the bus for our last stop. It was at a rum factory, and we had about 12 minutes to taste rum, buy some if we wanted, and go to the restroom. I hate these stops because it seems like nothing more than an opportunity to save 10% on some rum that I can more easily buy at home without lugging it around the world with me.
So, in conclusion, that was 97 minutes of stops on a 300 minute tour. So if you want to spend hours on a bus making tiny pointless stops with little beach time, then this is the tour for you. Kinda disappointed that I wasted my day in this tour. I didn’t feel like I got value out of it. Senior citizens may enjoy it. I’m not sure.

Good afternoon, Thank you for letting us know your feeling about the Authentic Tour of Southern Martinique excursion, First of all, we truely appologize for the wait as there were 2 ships on 2 ports in Fort de France that day and tried to do our best to satisfy everyone. As for the air conditionning, as soon as we learned about the issue we tried to find another bus to ensure you more comfort and we understand that the beginning of the excursion was not what you expected and what we are used to provide. Once again accept our apologies for the inconvenient. The stop at the potery village is more about the architecture and the mangrove, the clay men history and red floor, and yes they have an excellent chocolate store and some souvenirs. Indeed most of our guests like this tour for the beach stop in Anse d'Arlet for photos, some like to dip in the clear water, some go to the church to visit. We set 45 minutes in order to show you the hightlights of the south in 5 hours so that you can enjoy the rest of your day in Martinique, but we are ready to think about extending the time at the beach for further excursions. The aim for the market stop is to show you how we eat in Martinique, it is a sensory experience that is worth to live with the smells, the colors, the sounds. We hope hope that you will have the opportunity to live it some day. As our rum in Martinique is highly rewarded for its special taste and production process that has nothing to do with other rums from other islands in the Caribbean, even labelled Rhum Agricole de Martinique with an Appélation d'Origine Controlée, it would be very sad that we did not take you to a rum distillery and taste some for free, no need to buy if you don't want to. We accept the fact that the tour content may not be what thrills you the most except for the beach, we propose other kind of tours that focus on the beach of Les Salines, with more time to swim. We would be glad to show you the most famous and beautiful beach of Martinique. Thank you for the opportunity to improve our content, guide training and bus control; we hope that we can prove you we can do better, Kind regards

I went on the Southern Tour with my girlfriend and was very pleased to get on board with Beyond the Beach! The tour guide was very friendly, she was enthusiastic and liked to share her knowledge about the island ! The pottery Village is very cute, and shops show you some good crafts! The best stop for us was at the beach, were we could enjoy swimming next to a reef and see some fish! The History of the island is very special and interesting! I recommend this tour!
