A lot of good historical information. Very information heavy with a few food spots. Pablo was very nice would have preferred more food and drink variety though.

Went during lunch time and the food we tried was very delicious. There was a real good variety of both food and drink that was appropriate for the time of day, and felt very local and authentic. Our tour guide Gia did a great job and was very knowledgeable and professional. Meal sizes were very well proportioned to leave you full by the end but not so full that you didn't want to try on the last stop. Also got some great recommendations for other spots to try during the rest of our trip.

We booked this tour through our cruise. Gia was our guide and she was a ROCKSTAR ! She was friendly, knowledgeable and really connected with our group. I really can’t say enough good things about her! The places we visited and the food and drink were fantastic. Highly recommend this tour and Gia! Book it, you won’t be disappointed.

We went on the Old San Juan Walk & Taste Tour and were fortunate to have Pablo as our guide. He really earned the name WikiPablo, as he seemed to know everything! This was one of my top experiences in Puerto Rico, and it was a perfect way to get acquainted with San Juan. I didn’t expect to learn so much about history, agriculture, economics, and Taíno culture. And, of course, the food was amazing! My 11-year old is not the most adventurous eater, but he enjoyed almost all the food we sampled. I’d recommend Spoon (and specifically Pablo) to anyone who finds themself in San Juan.

We take private food tours all over the world. We have never had a bad one, and this was one of the better tours. Our guide, Gia was awesome; took care of us, was engaging, funny and informative. The restaurants and bars and food and drinks chosen were excellent picks. We had one dietary concern and that was taken care of at each location. Pace was perfect and we never felt rushed despite running long.

We love culinary tours — this was our fifth and by far the best. Nico was great! She was engaging, welcoming and knowledgable. We loved the food, cocktails, and history. Book this!

We took this tour as an excursion from our cruise ship. Lorna was our guide and she did a very nice job. The tour was just as described on the web site.....a walk through Old San Juan with several stops for local food and drink. All of the restaurants were locally owned and sourced and all of the food was very good. Lorna did a good job of keeping us in the shade on a hot day. We recommend this tour. We did it from the ship because we had onboard credit to use. It is much cheaper to book directly with Spoon Experience.....and it's probably better for them too.

Gia was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic with delightful personality. She was most considerate of certain dietary limitations (lactose intolerance) and arranged for certain food choices to accommodate my needs. The food and visits to local restaurants were great and Gia was marvelous!

This tour was perfect for our group meeting in San Juan for a friend reunion. Elliott was a great guide and the food establishments and points of interest were enjoyed by all. Highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Gia did an amazing job of teaching us the history of old San Juan and giving us lil tips and tidbits about the area. The food and drinks were delicious.

What a great way to see the old town and get introduced to local food! We only had one full day in San Juan and are glad we spent 3.5 hrs of it taking this tour with Lorna as our guide. We learned about the history and modern day life, covered a lot of ground, and had 5 outstanding tastes and 2 good alcoholic drinks (the drinks were different, not sure I would order them again, but good to get outside my comfort zone). The food really was incredibly good, we were pleasantly surprised at the portions and the quality of the food - the best mofongo we had during our week in PR, the best shrimp ceviche we have ever had, and a yummy cuban sandwich among them. And you get a non-alcoholic drink at many of the places as well (watermelon juice, mango frappe...) Well worth the time and money - thank you Lorna!

We booked the Craft Cocktails, Authentic Bites and San Juan History: In Partnership with Food and Wine Magazine on our last cruise with Holland America. This was THE BEST excursion we've had. LORNA, I must say again, LORNA, LORNA, LORNA was fantastic. Her love of her city is evident and her knowledge was impressive. She covered history, architecture, life in San Juan, current events, culinary facts and so much more. She easily handled questions on all of these topics. We were expecting tastings, but between four stops, we received three ample main dishes, one virgin drink, two adult beverages (one of which we learned how to make), and a dessert. They also adjusted for a wheat/dairy allergy restriction with no compromise in food quantity or quality. We highly recommend this tour and would give Lorna a 15 on a scale of 10!

We experienced this as a cruise ship tour. Our guide was excellent and she paced the tour around the Old Town perfectly, with stops for food, drink and historical narrative. I wouldn't say the culinary offerings were the most delicious I have tasted, but there was a reasonable variety of nibbles.
