Full-Day Rainforest and Waterfall Adventure from San Juan
From $75.00
Overview
Explore a lush rainforest and help contribute to Puerto Rico’s recovery from Hurricane Maria with this all-day guided tour. After a convenient hotel pickup, travel by passenger van to El Yunque National Rainforest and support road and trail construction with your entrance fee. Enjoy a refreshing swim at a waterfall, experience picture-perfect views, and learn about the island’s wildlife and exotic plants from your guide.
What to Expect
Your guide will pick you up between 8am and 10:30am from your accommodations in San Juan. Travel comfortably in a 14 passenger van to the rainforest (approximately a 30-40 minute drive). Along the way you will make a brief stop for snacks (at own expense). Your first stop at the rainforest is the El Portal Visitor Center where you will have an opportunity to purchase souvenirs and receive additional information about the area. Back to the van and travel up the mountain to 2000 ft. above sea level, an easy 15-20 minute drive from the visitor center. Next you will begin your nature walk down to the waterfall. This trail is 1 mile down and 1 mile up. Once you arrive at the waterfall, you will have time to go in and under a refreshing waterfall. Once you are back at the van, you will make a couple additional stops for photo opportunities. The last stop is at an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant (own expense) to enjoy a late lunch at approximately 3-4pm. Depart the restaurant and relax on your 45-55 minute drive back to San Juan, arriving at your accommodation between 5:30pm and 7pm.

Hi! It honestly would depend on the weather. The trail can get a little slippery in the rain but as long as they are tough they could make it happen regardless, I’m sure! It’s a ton of fun so I hope you consider it. Enjoy!
