This tour was our highlight of our trip to San Juan. We wanted to visit Culebra for a day but didn’t want to take a flight as that may have taken too much time nor the ferry as reading reviews it sounded inconvenient. I ran across this tour and decided to give it a shot. The catamaran picks everyone up in Fajardo which is around a 50 minute drive from San Juan. The tour offers pick up in San Juan but this day they weren’t picking up because they didn’t have a minimum of 7 people so we rented a car for $35 usd, picked it up from the airport and drove to the marina. This was great as we were staying very close to the airport and we didn’t have to wait for any other passangers.

Now about the tour itself:
•the music was awesome, the majority of the tour was young people and we enjoyed reggaeton and other Latin hits
•the food was amazing. I was impressed, I thought it would be a plain sandwich as in other tours I’ve been in but it had so much flavor and there were also some great sides
•the crew was extremely helpful and very nice. Chris and everyone else made sure everyone had a great experience aboard.
•there was unlimited free beer and pouch cocktails which were very good and definitely got us tipsy
•we went to Culebrita not Culebra but it was even better as there were less tourists and the water was gorgeous. Snorkeling was fine but there were a lot of rocks so be careful and wear fins if possible. We bought snorkeling sets from Amazon before the tour and would recommend doing the same as a couple of people weren’t satisfied with the snorkeling equipment bought on board.
•Covid measures were in place but didn’t prevent everyone from having a good time.

Overall amazing experience. If you are staying in San Juan but want to have a beach day and visit Culebra or Culebrita I would definitely recommend taking this tour.

Great experience!! I’d go again! Highly recommend!

We opted in to get picked up at our hotel versus driving to the port in Fajardo from San Juan. The driver was over 20 minutes late and we called to make sure we weren't going to get left behind and they ensured us that since it was the same company that overlooked the transportation, that we wouldn’t get left behind but that the bus was just running late. Phew! They don’t treat you like a number and ensure you are who you say you are. Customer service is friendly and helpful. Everything is emailed to you on time and all the details explained in email. The person who booked the trip has to show ID when checking in at the port.

We had a group of 9. And 3 children. The 4 year old got sea sick and threw up and the crew bent over backwards to ensure he was fine and felt okay and didn’t leave his side until he calmed down. The catamaran boat was a lot smaller then expected but it didn’t even matter because we sat inside protected from the water splashing in and the sun. They offered snacks and drinks prior to a lunch. The chicken wrap was so tasty and big enough to fill you up. The excursion guides were friendly but stern in their instructions as they should be. Snorkeling was phenomenal as long as the goggles were on appropriately. The closer to the reefs you got, the better the experience. You can’t touch them as that could be dangerous but if you get close to make out details it is an awesome site. Flamenco beach is the most beautiful place in the world as it ranks one of the top 5 secluded beaches! It was the perfect timing out at sea snorkeling and at the beach. Enough to get back to our hotel in San Juan and have the rest of the night to go out.

We’d definitely book again!! Thank you for a phenomenal experience!!

My husband and I took this day trip on 3/28/22. It was a beautiful day, and the ocean was perfect for this kind of excursion. We were picked up from our Isla Verde hotel at 7:20am. We brought along our own towels, snorkel gear and water shoes as this is not provided due to COVID. They sell this at the pier and on the boat.

When we boarded, we were assigned to a table inside. The tables seat about 6 people. So we were seated with another couple. During the ride to Culebra only a few people are allowed to sit outside in the back during the ride. It is air conditioned inside and this is where you can eat/drink the lunch & drinks provided.
Alcohol is only served when boat docks.

The Catamaran will dock in about 10-15 feet of water when you get to Flamenco Beach so if you plan on relaxing on the beach with your towels or anything else you will need a dry bag to swim and take your things on land.

The beach itself was breathtaking I can say that the beaches around San Juan are not as nice although swimmable. There is coral around the sides which we were told to swim over and not step on. There weren't many fish to see, so snorkeling was not what we spent our time doing.

The crew offers snacks and drinks while docked. We were given chicken salad wrap sandwiches with a pasta and chick pea type of salad. We arrived at about 10:30 am and left at about 1:30pm. It was enough time to swim, take some sun and enjoy the beach.

We definitely had an amazing time and was money well spent!

The positive first:

the communication with the company was great. They contacted me the day before the trip to confirm pickup and explain that the boat would go to culebra if the conditions allowed or to Icacos if the conditions were not great.

The captain and crew were also very nice and accommodating on the trip itself.

The vessel was Coast Guard certified, which made me feel much more comfortable about safety during the trip.

The lunch was pretty good.

Culebrita, where we spent the beach part of the trip was very beautiful.

The shuttle/bus from San Juan was clean and comfortable.

The not their fault (and doesn't impact the stars of this review) but FYI:

The trip out to the snorkeling location was choppy and many people were feeling the effects, including myself. I've been on several excursions and never felt the way I did on this trip. It was approximately an hour to get to the snorkeling location. Because of the way I felt, I didn't want to risk drinking alcohol which sucks because the amount you pay you're hoping to take advantage of that.

The seating area of the boat is enclosed and doesn't lend itself to interacting with others like you normally do on these types of excursions- which to be honest, with the choppiness of the water was likely required for safety reasons but it does take away from the experience. They may use different boats when the weather is nicer.

The reason for my rating:

They don't include snorkel equipment which is very clearly written /included in their info when you're booking. Even still, I think it's weird that they can't offer snorkeling equipment. Covid is likely the reason but soaking equipment in soapy water would eliminate that as an issue so not sure if it's a good enough reason.

Because we couldn't get to Culebra for the beach part of the trip (which was fine and explained to me beforehand as a possibility), we went to Culebrita. Beautiful but practically no shade (some spots under palm trees). IMO, the company should figure out a way to make the passengers time on Culebrita (about an hour and 15 minutes on our trip) more comfortable by figuring out a way to provide shade to those who decide to swim to shore. Oh yeah, the boat can't get super close so you do have to swim to shore. If you want to have anything with you, it would be a good idea to invest in a dry bag with a cross body strap so that you can have some things with you on the beach (towel, your phone, water etc). One of the crew does come to shore with some of the alcoholic drinks but didn't have water so make sure to bring that from the boat.

Bottom Line: I'm just not sure the value is there, especially if you are coming from San Juan, you're spending two hours commuting their and back (either on your own or via the transportation they offer for extra $). Two Hours on the boat getting to/from the pier to snorkeling/beach spots and then only spending a couple hours actually at the snorkeling/beach spots. The locations are absolutely beautiful but for the time spent out there, not worth it for me.

Couples
The boat ride was fun and the water was nice to play in. The drinks and food were pretty good. The crew was nice but not very attentive to the men or couples, but it was a nice boat ride and great weather even though we couldn’t go to the better island/beach we were supposed to. They said we would get a small refund back for each ticket, but they only gave us a small amount on one ticket. And for some reason we got sat outside the main cabin on the back of the boat on a bench, so we had no table to eat or drink on or place to keep our belongings because everyone ended up on the back of the boat once we stopped.

Got a call the day before that the boat to travel to culebra was damaged and now our trip would be to icacos. I understand things happen but this is an 80 dollar difference between each ticket. I was told the price would remain the same because we’d be on a much more “private” boat. They sent the most uncomfortable bus for pickup with a driver who sped past every pothole everyone was nauseous when we arrived in fajardo. It is pouring rain he tells us to get out that they’ll check us in closer to the port. After a 10 minute walk in pouring rain the people at the desk are unsure if we can even go the activity and ask us to wait atleast another 30 minutes (outside, in the rain) 15 minutes went by and I just decided to request a refund after a bus of about 50 people arrived and crowded up the tiny area we had. Everything was so disorganized really ruined my birthday. I understand the weather is out of everyone’s control but they need to communicate with paying customers instead of asking people to wait for miracles. There were storms all over the radar and 40 minutes in the rain still being told to “wait it out”. The bus driver didn’t even want to take us back in San Juan although we paid extra for the transportation.

My family and me did the catamaran to Icacos . This excursion was absolutely beautiful really . The 1 st stop the water we’re over 6 feet deep and the second was 15-30 feet in depth . My Teenage boys n husband loved the snorkeling experience. I love the beautiful beach. Absolutely breath taking . I had only 1 issue . We apparently had a Bachelorette Party or get together on this trip plus another group of young women the manner that they acted with children and teens present was so disrespectful. The had basically all of there private parts out and shaking there butty to point were I felt like me and my family were watching a Strip show . There was a family with young children across from us that had to take there child up front because it was so disrespectful. I don’t mind having a good time I just did not pay all the money that we did which was over $1000 to watch that type of show. A plus they also provide chicken salad wraps not bad . And unlimited Alcohol and drinks .

I was super excited to go on this trip for my bday when i saw the reviews. However, I guess we didn’t get the fun crew everyone raved about. Our crew had Nef & Steph in it, forgot the others’ names. They made little to no contact with the passengers. We got on the boat, they told us the rules & then remained mostly silent & unfriendly for the rest of the trip. When we wanted a drink, there was usually no one at the bar & it seemed like a burden when we asked for a refill. The music in the boat was frequently paused for 10+ minutes at the time, all the while you hear someone’s notifications blowing up over the boats speakers. We were made to feel very uncomfortable & almost unwanted on this boat. Sad way to spend my birthday, we tried to make it as fun as we could but when it seemed like the crew would rather do anything but be there with us it was kinda hard. I was really so insanely excited for this trip. At the island we were parked right next to another east island excursion boat who looked to be having the time of their lives. The crew was dancing with the passengers, playing upbeat music & laughing & singing. Our boat was pretty depressing, mostly silent. Truly a let down.

I would not recommend. The best part of this trip was the boat crew and captain. they were super accommodating and nice. we were promised a catamaran however the boat did not meet our standards and not like the one pictured. The waves were super choppy and everyone got sea sick. it was like riding a rollercoaster so we never made it to the destination and ended up going somewhere local that was not nearly as nice. never saw culebra or flamingo beach which was the entire reason we booked this tour. Also we did not stay the full time as promised and the lunch was horrible. on top of not going to culebra and the horrible lunch and not staying the full time we were also required to buy our own snorkeling gear which is ridiculous for the price. Also when we went to the local beach there was no way of getting to the actual beach unless we swimmed. no way to get our towels over or anything. as well as the open bar was not open the whole time. I would not waist my money on this excursion. it was a day lost when we only had 4 days in PR smdh. no refund or apology was extended which is disappointing. Like I said the crew was the best part however we did not come for the crew, we came to see culebra. a big let down. I feel like they often never makes it to culebra and is just falsly advertising to get people to buy

We had a fantastic day touring across to Culebra for snorkeling and then to Culebrito to the beach. As a group of 12 people, we were assigned two large tables inside the enclosed portion of the boat for the trip of about 70 minutes over to Culebra. The water was choppy so several of our group were sick, despite taking Dramamine ahead of time. The staff were VERY solicitous, handing out sick bags, allowing passengers feeling sick to sit outside in the fresh air, etc. We stopped for 45 minutes or so for snorkeling and swimming, then had a tasty box lunch. On the whole trip, the staff continually offered and brought cold drinks and snacks (granola bars and chips) and when the boat was anchored, opened the bar and offered alcohol as well. Our second stop was at a beautiful little beach on Culebrita (the swells were too high to go to Flamenco beach), and the boat anchored a little ways away, so people had to swim over. The staff provided float belts and even brought alcohol over to the beach to offer drinks to beach goers. Those who stayed on the boat sunning on the upper deck were also offered drinks & plates of fruit (even though the staff member had to climb the ladder with them!). After 90 minutes or so at the beach, we returned to Puerto Rico. Everyone really enjoyed the trip, and the staff was terrific - very friendly, helpful, and always offering more drinks and snacks.
