What to expect
Get adventurous. Get off the paved trail! During this tour, we will seek out some of El Yunque National Forest hidden gems in places where most tours don't go. Your initial hike is an approximate 30-minute journey on a river wading and rock scaling path to the river. This area is surrounded by bamboo trees, rain-forest flowers, and many other beautiful plants. We will make a stop to visit a collecting pool that forms at the base of a small waterfall by the river. Here you will have the opportunity to swim on it’s crystal clear waters or jump from a rope, and enjoy the different tones of its deep pools. A glimpse at the first waterfall, great for pictures opportunities! The adventure finishes in another pool area, its best kept secret. After a few minutes of hiking and rock climbing (more advanced), arrive at a natural river where you can swim, cliff jump, and enjoy the natural water slides as many times as you would like! After the tour ends we will stop at a local restaurant for a late lunch (food cost not included), before returning to San Juan or your initial meeting point. This stop will take from 1 to 1.5 hours.

No more than 30 min total of hiking in the rainforest
Feb 2021
"Rainforest Hiking Adventure" is NOT a hiking adventure. It is a very short walk to three water spots where long stops are taken. If you care more about hiking in the forest and less about the water part, you will be bored. I wish I had known it before, but my questions to clarify that I sent to the trip Office were left unanswered.

One For The Books!
The tour itself was amazing, but what top off the tour were Big Joe and Jonathan. Their positive, skilled, great sense of humor, kind, and just full of life. They took great photos and videos of each and every one of us. Book this tour and make one for the books!

Best tour
The tour was the highlight of my trip. The guides, Jaime, Big Joe, and Mitchell were the best! We trekked through the rainforest on a natural path by climbing through rocks, mud banks, and sometimes tree roots... And water!! The scenery is gorgeous! They make you feel safe and make sure you are by providing us with a life jacket for the waterfall slides. I did the two of the waterfall slides and felt safe even though I could not swim.. And to top it off, we ended at a local restaurant that had some great food and smoothies!

The hike was not easy but it wasn’t hard. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes water shoes preferred toes covered. The natural waterslides were nice but jumping off the cliff was amazing.

Our Yunque Experience
Mar 2020 • Couples
We went on the Yunque tour today 3/9/2020 the group arrived to the beginning of the trail and we were told we could use the restrooms. Being a large group it took a good 15/20mins for everyone to use the facilities. The tour guide then decided to start the trail leaving a few of us behind, Not a big deal but I was then rushing to meet with the group so I could get some of the “guided” information. Unfortunately we caught up mid way and missed out if anything was told to the group. Immediately arriving to the Yunque waters we were told we could swing and jump from the small cliffs. Choosing to pass up on those two activities we stayed below where joe cut up some amazing local fruits. Thanks joe! The group was then split up in two one to climb to the 44ft cliff and others who did not want to join. I choose to join and my fiancé stayed behind and decided to skip out on that. On my end the hike up to the cliff was very vigorous but so worth taking the jump. We then had to hike back down in a hurry due to the swelling of the water on the rapids. Arriving back down to the bottom where my fiancé was her experience was completely different. Once the groups split she let me know that those who stayed behind were left unattended and confused. All tour guides had joined us to the cliff and did not advice the other half of the group what was expected to happen. Unfortunately due to weather we had to head back to the bus, where we then headed to go eat.

Overall the hike was good, but giving them an average rating due to lack of organization and also lack of information on our surroundings while walking throughout el Yunque.

Jamie, joe and the rest of the team we’re helpful but I’d suggest perhaps a smaller group to keep it more organized and easy flowing.

Thank you all!

What a great day!
Jan 2020 • Solo
Definitely not for the feint of heart, mind, or body. I was nervous about this trip, since I am in my late 50's, was going solo, and have a few extra pounds. I am a pretty active person- regularly swim and figure skate- and it was more than I bargained for- steep climbs in and out. After the climb to the first pool, I bailed out of the second climb to the waterslides. BUT, I was really super content at the first site and happy to just relax and swim, so it was all good! Ponce, Andre, and Christian were awesome guides. They were very attentive to all hikers and encouraging and really keep a good eye on everyone. If you are up for a good physical adventure- this is your trip! And this trio of guides will get you in and out safely! If you're looking for something a little more laid back, this probably isn't for you ... ;-)
