El Yunque Rain Forest Nature Walk and Bioluminescent Bay Kayaking Combo Tour
From $165.00
Overview
Combine off-the-beaten-track with must-do adventure on this tour of El Yunque National Forest and a bioluminescent bay. Let a guide lead the way as you trek and wade through a rugged portion of the rain forest unknown to most visitors. Complete your day with a calm kayak ride through waters glowing with phosphorescent organisms—a must while in Puerto Rico.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with pickup from your San Juan accommodation and head straight to El Yunque National Forest, the only tropical rain forest in the United States National Forest System. Gear up for an adventure wading through rivers and hiking along trails for roughly four hours en route to a waterfall, all while learning about the ecosystem from your guide.

After lunch at a typical restaurant (own expense), kayak through a mangrove forest for roughly 30 minutes to reach one of Puerto Rico’s famous bioluminescent bays. Enjoy free time watching the waters light up with glowing organisms before paddling back.

Tour concludes with hotel drop-off in San Juan.

Note: Due to Hurricane Maria, parts of the forest are currently closed. A similar experience is available along alternate trails.

Worth the money

Was a decent hike. Not really long or challenging. Pretty good cliff jumps. Snacks and waters provided. Your choice for lunch between all the stalls at some Plaza. The kayaking trick to the algea is relaxing, not super bright or anything though.

This tour was great! our guide was Roberto. The rain forest was beautiful, the rope/cliff jumping was terrifying and the river waters were very clean and refreshing. On the way to Yunque Roberto stopped at a small store to get some fruit for lunch -...More

It is definitely OK, we went after the rain so it was a little slippery at times but that is all about the challenges you will encounter. I found it was best for me to walk in water shoes and ended up carrying my hiking... More
