- katehV1950TJ0 contributionsSo fun and amazingIt was a lot longer than we thought as it was many hours long but I have no complaints! It was very fun as a non-outdoors person and I recommended to all my friends when they visit Puerto Rico! Our tour guides were also so fun, helpful, and knowledgeable about the forest. We had Tarzan, and Julio drove us and they were both so awesome, but so were the other guides!Written March 12, 2025
- 287sannap0 contributionsgreat tourlots of fun water activities and the guides were great about capturing pictures and keeping the group together! be prepared for lots of mud though, your shoes WILL be covered in it, but it was all part of this unique experience.Written March 9, 2025
- tomn8270 contributionsDangerousThis is not a good tour for families with young children. The hike into the rainforest is all mud, roots, and rocks. My wife lost her balance and smashed her face on a rock. The tour guides forgot their first aid kit. Thankfully, my wife was able to hike out to the ambulance, which cost $500 cash. She spent the rest of the day (her birthday) in a local hospital, where she got seven stitches in her forehead. The EMTs told us stories about people who have had to be medically evacuated from that side of the rainforest. The tour operator refunded our fees, but those are dwarfed by our medical bills. I really regret booking this tour.Written March 8, 2025
- oda29920 contributionsAmazing experience !Tarzan and Ronaldo were absolutely amazing. They were fun and educated us along the way. Most importantly they kept us safe from the beginning to the end. The way is very slippery and I would say you need shoes with grip. It’s about 35min to get to the first spot and another 20min to the second spot. Totally worth it. They took us to eat after, real PR food. Totally recommend this company.Written March 8, 2025

- Ehockey10 contributionsDo this adventure! This was a great, but strenuous, hike! The views and waterfalls were amazing- lots of fun to slide down! The guides were great- helpful for this nearly 67 year-old to get up some of the harder rocks. “Tarzan” and Zaza were informative, entertaining and engaging throughout. Longer than advertised if you include the transportation to and from the park.Written March 4, 2025

Everyone is super friendly and helpful and the activity itself was incredibly fun. I was a little scared of the jumps at first but everyone was so so friendly and sweet and I felt extremely safe the whole time! There were also some cats in the neighborhood that were SO cute and the food was so so delicious. Unforgettable experience 10/10 would recommend! - petrasJ4105YT0 contributionsTrue Puerto Rico experience! My friend and I came without much information about this tour ( it was our fault ). Everything went so smoothly since the moment we met our tour guides. We had so much fun just getting there. We were provided water and life vests on the beginning of the tour with clear explanation what are we going to do. First part of the hike was very enjoyable with all informations about the forest and history of island.Once we started the point B part, it felt so magical. The nature in the forest is breathtaking. We did waterfall slides, jumping off the cliffs and rope swinging which was extremely fun.Hanser and Julio had great energy they were so supportive and making sure we are all safe. They will provide you with all photos/videos from the tour. After the tour we made a stop at the local place with authentic food and locally grown produce. We had wonderful day doing this tour. I would highly recommend, it’s best way to experience beauty of Puerto Rico. We can’t wait to be back!Written March 3, 2025

This was a really fun adventure for our family, ages 14, 24 x2 and 47. The guides were great and helpful. Expect mud, lots of mud. Embrace the mud. Be prepared to climb up and down rocks and roots. We all did the rock jump, rope swing and slide. The guides took videos of each of us on the slide, swing and rock jump with their phones and air dropped them to one of us in the group at the end. If you want to take your own phone, you will want a waterproof case/bag. Venders had them for sale on site for $8-10$. You will give your car keys to one of the guides and they will store them in a bag. There is not a shuttle. You meet at the designated meeting spot and follow the guide and group to the park. You will then leave on your own and depend on GPS. There was a vender selling empanadas (chicken and beef) for $3 that were the best we had on the trip, full of meat, cheese and flavor! I would definitely recommend this adventure.

I recently went on a guided rainforest hike in Puerto Rico with a tour guide named Lazaro, and it was an unforgettable experience! Despite my initial fears, Lazaro was incredibly encouraging and knowledgeable. He made the entire hike enjoyable and educational, pointing out various plants and wildlife along the way. His expertise and reassuring demeanor helped me feel safe and confident throughout the journey. I highly recommend this tour and Lazaro as a guide for anyone looking to explore the beautiful rainforests of Puerto Rico!

The water slides/waterfalls/rope swing hike was amazing!
Hanser and Raymond (brothers) were fantastic guides-they were funny, engaging, very knowledgeable about the local plants, and very safety-conscious.
They brought waterproof bags to store our cameras and phones when we reached the point where we all got into the water. Those who opted not to do the (very thrilling and adventurous) rock water slides stayed aside for that little part. Those who opted to slide scrambled up higher to the top of the waterfalls, with both guides, who then helped us correctly slide down. They took videos of each of us sliding down, which was lovely, so we have the souvenir! At the end of the tour they AirDropped the pictures to us, group by group.
The whole to our hike, once we met at the entrance to the rainforest and started walking, lasted about 2 or 2.5 hours. It rained hard in us for a little while, but we were all neck deep in the river by then so we did not mind the rain.
We all had a blast! Me, my husband and our two friends were absolutely thrilled by the whole adventure and we felt so encouraged and safe and cared for by both Hanser and Raymond, who gave us arms to help us over the slippery rocks and provided encouragement when some of us were a little nervous:-)
I recommend this tour 100%

My boyfriend and I did this hike together and really enjoyed it! It was amazing to be in the rain forest and our guides Lazaro and Pedrito were very knowledgable and kept everyone safe.
Please be aware this is a TOUGH hike! It wasn’t hard in physical exertion, but it was tedious and required lots of awareness and balance. You will be sliding down steep, muddy nooks and crannies on your bottom, wading through waist-deep water walking over slippery rocks, and scaling muddy cliffsides hanging on to a rope. That’s all before you get to the water slides and such.
I would NOT recommend this trip to anyone who is not in at least moderate physical shape, nor children under 8.
I wish there had been more communication all around. My boyfriend and I packed Tevas and sandals for the trip after the description and many reviews called it easy. We got a text the night before that they will not let you on the hike if you’re wearing Tevas, Crocs, water shoes, flip flops, or any open toed sandal. We had to make an emergency run to Walmart and buy some cheap sneakers.
Be prepared to ruin your shoes and clothes. The mud is more of a red/orange clay and it does stain.
Our guide also told us when we reached the swimming hole that it would be an 8 minute hike to the first water slide and whoever didn’t want to do it could stay at the swimming hole. I was a bit nervous and figured I’d hear from my boyfriend how the first slide went and then likely be convinced to do the second. After an HOUR of sitting by myself at the swimming hole, the group finally came back and told me they’d done all the water slides and we were going to start the hike back. So that was pretty disappointing and why I docked a star from our experience.
All in all, if you prepare for a very physical hike, bring proper footwear, and embrace the mud- you’ll have a great time!

One of the highlights of the week in Puerto Rico.. This was a family event and everyone enjoyed it. The tour guide (nicknamed Tarzan) was incredible patient ensuring everyone on the tour was able to get to the destination and had an opportunity to try the waterslides, cliff jumping and rope swings. I loved the fact that the hike had some levels of difficulty to it which made it more rewarding.

We booked this tour because we got cancelled at very last minute by another one, and it turned out this tour is way better than our expectations! There were some hiccups before we got to the forest, but overall the instructions and meeting process is smooth. Britanny was our guide and she's full of energy and so nice, she took photos and videos for us when we do those water activities and always brought so much positivity and passion to the team. She also texted us recommendations of tourist attractions and restaurants and all kinds of that information after the tour. I would recommend this tour if you enjoy explore nature with a relatively large group.

For those who really love adventure…hiking, climbing boulders, cliff jumping, rope swinging walking through streams and a fun tour guide this is the experience for you! Prepare to get dirty but having fun doing so! We apparently took a more difficult hike/route up to the activities that is definitely for those who are more advanced in fitness levels. There is an easier one but it depends on if the gate is open. If you’re concerned I would ask in advanced. I would highly highly recommend getting a waterproof case that hangs around your neck for your phone. Otherwise he recommends leaving your phone. What is really awesome is that he stops at certain areas to take pictures which he later on air drops to you!!! Loved that a lot and his phone takes really good pictures (iPhone 13). He was also gracious at some points to allow us to use his phone but our group was very small, I’m not sure if he’ll do it for big crowd. He was very helpful and made sure everyone was very safe. Some of the girls were afraid to cliff jump and he held his patience and compassion. He didn’t force anybody or get upset if they didn’t want to jump. He simply let them think through and was holding his phone to take the video if they decided to do so. (He took videos of every experience for everyone) 10/10 coming back to do his tour. He offered chips and water for snacks at the end of the tour. He also provided life jackets.

The views were amazing, the guide Alejandro was the best. I'm not experienced in hiking and he and his team took their time to assist where needed. They are very knowledgeable about the forest and it's habitat. I'm not gonna lie, because I'm inexperienced with hiking, this was extremely tough for me. I highly recommend walking shoes because you will feel the rocks in water shoes, and there are A LOT of rocks. You have to climb up and down very narrow passages, which can be extremely scary at times. Because I had on water shoes, i slipped and hurt my knee. But over all I really enjoyed myself, so did me husband. We met some really cool people in our group that kept each other motivated to keep pushing on.

What an incredible adventure, and our guide, Sebastian, was amazing and knowledgeable. The hike in for this 50 year old woman was a little challenging but totally doable, especially with such a patient and kind guide. We did the 10:00 a.m. tour, which I highly recommend, because by the time we were coming back down, there were tons of other groups arriving (we literally had the whole place to ourselves initially).
Loved everything about this true "bucket list" adventure, and I definitely recommend this tour company.

Michael and Paola made our trip to El Yunque a big success. Our family of 6 had an amazing time wading, climbing, jumping, swimming, and rope swinging. I wasn't aware there would be so much physicality to it - (climbing a 60 ft mud wall!) - but it's fine if you're in decent shape. My boys ages 6-18 absolutely loved all of it and probably could've stayed for hours more. Michael did a great job in guiding us to the right spots, and was very patient with my 6 year old when he wanted to do the rope swing over and over! He took the time to teach him how to hold on, how to hold his legs, when to let go, etc. He and Paolo took pics of us and were kind enough to airdrop them afterwards. He even held my phone for me and kept it dry. All in all, a great time that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting PR! Oh, be sure to wear old athletic shoes & don't plan to be clean when this is all said and done! You'll be glad you did.

I never received an email confirmation bc I realized I put in the wrong email address. I didn’t set up an account. I have a confirmation number, screen shot, and a text was sent but text doesn’t give me a link. My tour is at 10 am today. Will the confirmation number be enough?

The hike itself is short but muddy. I would say it is good to have some minimal level of fitness and mobility but not a lot. I personally would have preferred a longer and more strenuous hike but noted others in our group that didn’t hike much seemed fine. Most important is to wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting super muddy!

Hi. I have a booking for 1pm tomorrow. I'm trying to reach the tour operators to see if I can get any transportation from San Juan but didn't get any response to my phone calls or messages. Would anyone know how to get in touch with the company?
Written December 26, 2023
I do not know how to get in touch with the company. However, this tour did not include transportation. If I remember correctly, it was a separate booking that included transportation. We all met at a meeting place and drove our own vehicles to the location.
Written December 27, 2023
Yes, but not adived,,,prepare to get muddy on the hike. In the water you're good, but I quickly changed on the hike, you need something with gripping power.

We want to book for Tuesday May 23rd for the 1pm session. I see it says we will return to the cvs meeting spot. Is it mandatory to go back to the meeting spot? We want to book an atv at the rainforest after this is done on the same day. Thanks for your help.
Written May 9, 2023
We actually didn’t return to the meeting spot. Everyone went there separate ways from el yunque. The guides will let you know the way to the main road until you get signal again and can use your GPS and then you are off on your own.

Dear Traveler,
I would suggest that a two year old is too young. There are rocks to climb and obstacles to go over and around, that may be difficult for such a small person. The water slide and rope swing would also be more than a two year old could handle. They did give the participants the option of watching the others do those parts of the tour, but then you would be missing out on the fun. On our tour there were children, but probably not under the age of 5. In some areas the guide caried them on their shoulders.
