Don't waste your money on Sal's snorkeling tour. There are so many beautiful and kind people in Puerto Rico however the owner of this snorkeling adventure was horrible when dealing with customer issues. sold plastic phone cases meant for safely capturing photos and videos during the tour, and so I purchased one and his employee placed my phone into this protector. Unfortunately, it leaked damaging my phone. I brought it to the attention of Sal, during our tour and he simply emptied the water out of the bag and said it should be fine and resealed it. I told him it wasn't turning on which defeated the purpose of buying it for photos and he said after the tour we'd figure it all out. I thought a business owner should have some type of insurance in case of matters such as these to pay to fix or replace the phone and at the very least to reimburse the customer with the amount the tour cost for the trouble. Instead, the guide brushed me off. I was without a phone the rest of the time I was in Puerto Rico and when I used a friend's phone to contact Sal days later after my phone was actually badly damaged from the water and I had to pay $120 to have it fixed he said I'm glad you figured it out. How inconsiderate. I even told him if he would reimburse me because he should be held responsible because it was his employee who placed my phone into the protector and his product that was faulty that caused my phone to be drowned in water and stop
working. He would not accept any responsibility and went on to say my phone was probably already broken. He was so unprofessional as we went up and back texting until he finally wrote blocked when I
said to man up and pay for the damages. In retrospect, seeing how his snorkeling equipment was
falling apart while we were far out, its no wonder the phone protector was also raggedy. I say steer clear and take your money elsewhere. Sure, the price of the 'adventure' is cheap, but so is the quality. Find a local to book a tour with instead and support the kind people. The owner handled this situation very poorly and its obvious he shouldn't be running a business with
his terrible customer service skills and his disregard for his customers in general. I'm so glad I was reminded to leave a review so that even one more person won't have to deal with the same awful experience I had on this tour. It is possible the other guides are better when handling customer relations even though Sal was not, but don't take the risk.

Oh Monay,
I love this review! You are a great example of the type of customer we do not want or cater to. You are a scammer and you're upset that you found a business that wont cower to you.
To further clarify for those who are reading, Monay arrived to the tour with a broken phone.
She then purchased a waterproof case for her broken phone to scam me out of paying for a new phone so that when we arrived back on shore the phone was as dead. I will even agree the phone was dead when we arrived back to shore at the end, it was as dead as it was when I sold her the case at the start, that she didn't want to leave in our lockbox.
Now, being a business, we get scammed and hustled sometimes, and its completely ok, we charge it the game and move on, we live on an island, and I dont have time to argue with folks who act like this But, the app makes me reply, so here we are. 10/10 I write a check and move on.
After Monay made the report back in August, we wrote a check, and went out that night.
I believe it was the next day, before we could get the check to her (months ago, I am unclear admittingly), Monay decided to take it upon herself to bash us online with false claims of X,Y, and Z. After we saw the online bashing ( review on aug 2nd, scroll a bit ) we shredded the check and blocked her.
I will let every one know exactly what I said to the guest and I hope future guests understand this as well,
"if you're going to scam me, you have to be nice about it".
You cant scam me for a new phone, and then bash us online, and treat me poorly. I have been bullied before and I just dont deal with it, find someone else.
Either way, as I have explained to guest...2-3x, if she apologizes for her behavior and removes the false claims, she can even keep the 1 star, say im a jerk, that's ok, but apologize to me, remove the nonsense, we will still issue the check.
As I said countless times, you just have to be nice about it.
Good night everyone. Im headed to the beach

Go somewhere else for your snorkeling experience! If I could give zero stars I would. At first glance,Sal, the instructor or guide if you will, came off as knowledgeable and genuinely interested in providing a memorable time snorkeling but after this experience I
can see that is not the case. We booked this tour because of the reviews and aside from an issue of cleanliness,The equipment being briefly sanitized even
though it was just used on a
group before us :These items go in Your mouth and around your eyes so a few minutes at most in some cleaning solution doesn’t seem sanitary during these
times.) But seeing as we’re in the water so long I didn’t
fret too much on that note, and Sal seemed like the light hearted fun guide everyone described. But then some people in my group had their snorkel malfunction. There
was a hole in one of the snorkels which could be dangerous seeing as we were pretty far out in the water. Sal looked frustrated instead of showing more concern because of how scary that could be for one of
the guys. I didn’t notice him check the gear before we
headed out either. The main part that really upset me Is that on his website he advertises phone protectors to
safely take into the water to record while snorkeling and
yet mine leaked and my phone was damaged. When I told him about this he said to put it in rice and let it sit in the sun when we get out of the water, and it should turn
on. 4 days later it still hasn’t turned on and he was not
considerate to say the least and said he won’t reimburse me the $145 it cost to replace my phone. We had a whole exchange via text where He claims there’s
no evidence that his equipment was faulty even though
I showed him it in the water and he opened the protector poured out the water and handed it back to me and said we’ll see what we can do about it. Today,
however, he says there will be no refunds trying to turn
it around as if my phone was not working before the tour, which makes no sense as to why I’d want to take photos and record under the water with a “non working
phone” I snapped these photos right before My phone
was submerged into the water in the faulty protector. How’s that for evidence. After that, my phone turned off. He should have some sort of insurance to cover basic liabilities like this, instead of behaving this way.I say
take your money else where instead of wasting it on Champions. I can’t believe how unprofessional a person who seems to care about his business’ success and his own reputation could be this dishonest and
inconsiderate of his customers. Zero stars for horrible customer service. He is inadvertently responsible for the damage of the phone because he sold me this
product to protect my phone and it failed to do so, which
led to water damage. As the owner he should have
offered payment for said damage. His business will not last with him being incapable of taking responsibility when things go wrong during the tours.

The only reason I will respond is because the app requires it.
Stop trying to pin your broken phone on me.
Your phone was broken when you arrived. Screen was shattered, chunks missing. When I saw it, the screen was black, furthering my point that it was broken.
Your phone, of course, didn't work after the tour, because it was already broken.
Now, all of that aside, being a business, we get scammed sometimes, and yes, we charge it to the game 100%. In this case, I was fully prepared to cover the cost of the tour, and repairs, I had a check for $200 already made out, just had to add your name.
However, if you really think you can attack me and my business, you had better think again. If you were cordial this wouldn't have been an issue, you could have had you scammed money and laughed all the way to the bank with it.,
However with this attitude, false claims of unclean equipment, and holes in tubes(?), you get nothing.
The truth is We can have this review removed, however, ill let it be as an example; If youre going to scam me for a new phone, be nice about it.
Monay, you picked the wrong one, I wont bow down to you as a business or a person. I had been bullied my entire life and I stopped letting people like you take advantage of me a long time ago.

To start, If I could give zero stars I would. This is a complete joke, the day of the booking he cancels and says everyone is sick and we will have to reschedule, we told him this was understandable people get sick and had a day we could fit this in on the trip. As we went to reschedule we asked about Saturday, we were then met with condescending texts about how sick he was and couldn’t do the original date of booking, again we told him we understood and would like to reschedule like he asked us to do for Saturday. He then responded with comments such as it “doesn’t matter, the reef is dead, do it with someone else and, to figure it out”. He ended it by telling us that he was now blocking us “bye”. So please whatever you do by his own request choose a different company I wish we would have. Again this is a Joke.

Hello Sway,
For context: You were contacted before your tour that the tour was cancelled due to staff medical issues, and you were refunded 100%. You never attended any tour with us.
We reached out before the tour, explained, issued a refund, and cancelled the the tour. You then proceeded to harass us via text message on the business phone the entire day, which was only kept on that day for guest emergencies, a privilege which you abused.
To leave 1 star for a tour you never attended and were refunded for, is unfair and may I say; immature. There is nothing more we can do for you. We reached out before the tour, informed you of the situation, and instantly issued a refund. TripAdvisor and modern culture however, demand that everyone have a voice, even those who never took my tour, and this review is the result.
Yes, you were blocked and I stand by that decision. We were dealing with staff medical issues and kept the business phone on for the sole purpose of guest emergencies, and that was abused. We do not want that type of guest. We do this work because we enjoy it.
I'm going snorkeling, island vibes only :)

I loved this tour! This might've been one of our favorites during PR. Sal, our tour guide, was awesome and he was able to give us such a great experience of snorkeling. When we booked, we were confused how we would be snorkeling for 2 hours (we thought 1 hour max) but we literally snorkeled for at-least 1.5 hours - such a good workout! we saw turtles, fish, star fish, sea urchins and much more. Sal was so informative and super cool to speak with. He knows what he's doing and makes it easy. We loved this!

Our tour got cancelled due to bad weather, which we received a call about and got offered to return the next day for half price. We told him that we would think about it and call him back. We got a call back after he missed our call, got yelled at, and they hung up on us after saying that we should answer our phones when we already spoke to the guy prior to this call. Do better with your customer service especially after we were so understanding. We did not rebook as he ruined the experience we didn’t even get to experience. Would give 0 stars for service if we could.

BEWARE: Don't trust that your tour will go as scheduled, but do trust there is a good chance you will get a confirmation email reminder the night before your excursion and then be canceled less than three hours before on the day of your excursion via email with no reason given. Calls to the vendor once we were in port went to voice mail, and although a text was sent by the operator that he would call, that never happened. He did finally send the reason for the cancelation, which was rough seas. However, ship tours and other tours were out that day. I can only assume this guide didn't feel he could keep us safe in the water. When he did finally respond several hours after the tour was scheduled, it was to accuse me of blowing up his phone. Duh, I was trying to understand why this tour wasn't going when all the others went. Only book this tour if you like playing games of chance with your vacation plans. Book with Try Scuba instead. We were able to get with them at the last minute that day and had a wonderful guide, and had a blast. Don't risk your safety with a guide who cancels when the sea is "too rough" for him to be your guide. Do book with experienced and professional businesses.

Please contact us to discuss what can be done to provide an excellent resolution.
According to our records; the marine forecast the day of your tour called for "life threatening risk of rip currents, 8-14ft surf" The owner canceled out of safety and concern for guests, along with a government request to close for the day, all on record.
As the guest relations manager I can say, at times [with the right group] the owner will push your limits in water, however safety Always take priority.
Finally, we agree with you; "some other folks" will always take you out and "maybe allegedly" their safety record; helicopters,...
As always, Please contact us to discuss what can be done to provide an excellent resolution.

My daughter and I were looking for a day at the beach when we arrived to Condado but we were greeted by Sal and his charismatic personality! He explained the snorkeling tour and we signed up within minutes. After speaking to him, I knew he was the gentleman ALL the Uber driver’s were recommending.
He took the group out in shallow water and explained how to use the equipment and what ocean life we would see. It was magical! A moment in time, my daughter and I will never forget. We saw all types of fish, coral, star fish and I saw a Sea Horse. You were able to take your time and swim around and not feel rushed. We will be sure to return the next time we visit Puerto Rico!

All of the staff were so friendly and helpful! They were extremely accommodating as they let us go on a later trip to wait out rainy weather. Our guide showed us really cool fish and beautiful sea life, and answered all of our questions. The shots were really good too!

My husband and I wanted to go snorkeling but we did not want a full day activity but we wanted to see some cool marine life. After scrolling the outdoors activities that were available for same day booking, my husband and I reached a consensus to check out Champion Snorkel. We had an excellent excursion with Sal. I was a little terrified at first because I get nervous in large bodies of water but once I saw the colony of manatees I was hooked. We also saw starfish, brightly colored tropical fish, crabs, jellyfish and so much more! Sal was so patient with me until I felt comfortable and even took turns with my husband to guide me through the waters. I had a great time and the video that Sal created captured our experience well. It was such a good time!

Do it! No boat ride= plenty of snorkel time and it didn’t eat up the whole day. We saw several manatees, lots of fish, starfish and shells, and even a hawksbill sea turtle! Sal was very patient with our questions, and knowledgeable. Thoroughly cleaned and good equipment. He even spent time to point out some great local restaurants, shopping areas, and other excursions. Sal is definitely a people pleaser!
