    JUST BOOK IT. No regrets!
Bradley and Danny were incredible; knowledgeable on the vegetation and history of El Yunque, assuring with the utmost safety and precautionary measures, and friendly towards everyone. Be advised that it does entail some intensive hiking and body engagement; eat a filling breakfast and stretch before hand! You also will not need your phone, as the guides will be actively taking photos through out the qhole experience. Even though it was a decent group of people, Bradley and Danny made every single one of us feel valued. The delicious fruit that they prepared was a fantastic treat, too. Ultimately, my husband and I can't recommend this tour enough!

    Amazing experience!
Maxine & Bradley were excellent tour guides. The experience was everything and more than we expected. The fresh cut up fruit in the rainforest and all the pictures they took are just two of the reasons we would highly recommend. The natural rock water slide, cliff jump and rope swing were loved by our family including 10 & 12 yr olds. Guides ensured everyone’s safety.

I am so happy I booked with them. If it’s your first time visiting I recommend you booking with them. The trial was slippery due to the rain so please do wear hiking shoes with a grip! No crocs! (Lesson learned from slipping more than once) thank you yanu for your patience with me! Amauri thank you as well!!

Don’t hesitate, this is the perfect one
Absolutely an unforgettable trip. I’ve never really done a guided hike like this before. We normally just pick a hike and go, but with all the logistics of trying to figure out transportation and where to go, the guided tour made sense. We were a little worried it was going to be cheesy, but it was very far from it. There were a lot of tour guides also doing trips through the rainforest, but I felt like ours were the best - they were down to earth, cool, and informative and really made sure we all experienced as much as we wanted to. Even if you’re not a super strong hiker, I would say this is still okay for you. I’m scarred from AllTrails that rates the most insane hikes as moderate to easy, and I don’t have the best knees, but it was very doable. There were definitely some portions that were difficult to climb, but everyone in the group managed, and the guides were helpful in helping find our footing. Would highly recommend, this tour/experience was perfect.

    Yunque Rainforest Tour
Jami and Amauri were amazing tour guides! They were very respectful, helpful and informative. The tour will take you up and down slippery slopes, climbing through slipping rocks all the way to a natural water slide, high jump and rope swing into water up to 26 feet deep up in the Yunque Rainforest! Everyone we encountered on the trails were kind and helpful. Thank you Jami and Amauri!

    Fun El Yunque Tour
First time ever in a rainforest. Amazing muddy, wet fun in nature! 4 of us in our family group joined a much larger group of nearly 30 people. Big tourist spot as there were many other large groups gathering in the same spots with waiting times for hiking in certain areas. Rene & Paola love their jobs in leading adventures which truly shows. They were funny, friendly, and helped capture our fun with their camera to share post adventure. Providing our own transportation to the rainforest was key. Allowed us to be muddy & wet but comfortable on the ride home. Would do it again!

Luis and Maxine were informative , helpful and extremely fun. They shared a lot of information on the journey, protected us from an attacking mongoose and Luis rescued a young lady who sprained her ankle, carrying her out of the rainforest. Amazing job!

BEST HIKE WITH ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCES! Wear hiking shoes!!!
Hectmar and Bradley are the best guides! They absolutely make the experience. Everything just feels like a once in a life time experience. The water slide, rope swing and cliff jump was worth the hike! WEAR HIKING SHOES!!! I cannot stress this enough. The trails will tear any other shoe apart and you will slip and slide in the mud. Don’t wear white shoes either and just be prepared to walk through mud and on slippery rocks. I would suggest wearing a swimsuit top and swimsuit bottoms under some shorts because you will get fully submerged in the swimming pools. The guides take plenty of pictures for you so there isn’t a need to risk having anything on you. You will leave behind phones, sunglasses, etc. in the bus. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EXPERIENCE !

The rainforest tour was an incredible adventure! My 14 and 15 year olds, and my husband and I loved every minute of it. Parts of it were a little nerve racking though. You are quite literally sliding down waterfalls, cliff jumping, rope swinging and climbing through tree roots and rock formations so you should be in decent shape to be able to participate. If you like adventure and thrill seeking this is the tour for you!

The restaurant we stopped at for lunch and roadside fruit stand we stopped at for breakfast were really good too!

The kayaking was fun and well organized. You can only see the bioluminescence once the sun has completely gone down and you move something around in the water but the trip is still worth it. It was a great relaxing way to end the day.

A few tips:

For the rainforest tour:
You will be completely soaked so-
Wear a bathing suit and shorts and old tennis shoes.
If you want to bring your phone/camera make sure you have a heavy duty water proof case.

Lunch:
Sit outside so you dry off

For kayaking bring:
flip flops
a long sleeved tek or swim shirt
Bug spray
Change of clothes including sweatshirt and pants for afterwards.

This experience was amazing. We paid for a full day tour including a beautiful, reasonably challenging hike through El Yunque National Rainforest where we ended up at this incredible space to swim and jump off rocks into the water and a natural water slide, a delicious dinner at a local restaurant where I ate the tastiest mofongo and a kayaking trip to this great bioluminescent bay where you had the most amazing view of the stars and constellations as well as the crazy bioluminescent planktons in the bay. So so so worth every penny, at least for my party and I.

Our tour guides, Jami and Yanu were down to earth, sweet and informative! I can't believe they used to hike that amazing trail on a daily basis. I will be doing this trip again. Thank you guys for everything!!

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Puerto Rico! All staff involved with the hike and bio bay were excellent. Please be advised that this trip is not a leisure hike it is a workout which is exactly what I was looking for! I loved how you were fully immersed in everything about the rainforest (mud, water, trees and of course rain!) This tour takes everyone’s safety into account so if you have reservations know each person is always equipped with a life jacket and a tour Gide is placed in the front of the group as well as one in the back to make sure everyone stays together. Again, I had an absolutely wonderful time on this tour!

This was an awesome tour!! The rain forest hike was challenging, but not too difficult to get through. The trip was definitely worth it because of the natural water slides, cliff jumping, and the overall scenery. I would recommend this tour for anyone that is athletic and not afraid to test their limits. Jami and Yanu were very helpful, informative, and charismatic during the entire trip which made the experience better. I enjoyed the fruit stand and restaurant as well.

Do not book this tour. Weather was bad the night before and the morning but they still drove us all the way out to the forest only to then immediately turn around and drive back home (this was a total of 2 hours). I understand things gets cancels for safety and rain, i’m completely fine with that. What I wasn’t fine with is them knowing it was dangerous condition much earlier in the morning (this is what the safety guide told us when we arrived, he said it had been “red for flash floods” since 5am) and for them to still waste our time and drive us out there. Yes we were reimbursed but you don’t get the wasted morning back. They then picked us up for the kayak tour at night, the location reeked from seaweed that had been baking in the sun for the past week. (This cant be controlled by them but is worth me mentioning since this the the launch location they picked). We had 4 tour guides, 1 was vocal and the other three must of been having a silent contest because they have little to no instruction. The bioluminescence was lack-luster due to light pollution from the city. I know what you’re thinking, this can get worse but that’s where you’d be wrong. The paddle back is done in the pitch black through a narrow channel of mangrove trees with only some of the kayaks with small lights in the back working. This is where having 4 vocal tour guides helping you would of come in handy but you are on your own. 2 of the guides would just paddle past you without saying anything. The only instruction you will receive is “paddle faster” which doesn’t help when you can’t see where you are going because there is NO LIGHT in front of you. (For reference, this isn’t the first time my girlfriend and I have kayaked so this wasn’t a learning experience). Then the only thing left was another 1 hour ride back to town. 4 Total hours of a day spent in a bus for 1.5 hours worth of terrible activities. Save your money.

An excellent tour! While 12 hours seems long, we didn’t feel time at all and rather wanted to stay longer! They picked us up at the hotel, which was very convenient and not too early in the morning, then stopped by local fruits market to get super fresh smoothies, which was a great start of the day.
The rainforest was amazing. It is beautiful by itself but the staff took us to make most of the beautiful nature of Puerto Rico. We did two super fun water cliff sliding, two jumping into the water from the cliffs. As the staff secured the safety of the areas, we 120% enjoyed every single moment, even though my friend didn’t know how to swim well. The group was great as well. We helped each other and experienced the adventures in the Mother Nature together. At the end of the water activities, staff prepared for delicious fruits from the market in the morning.💕
After the late lunch/early dinner, we went kayaking at the sunset, passing through the cozy arcade of mangroves. While there were too many mosquitoes that we didn’t prepare for, it is totally worth it! The kayaking in the group was an amazing experience. I even felt the great teamwork. The stars are always fantastic. But looking at them from a kayak in the middle of the bay was beyond words. So big and bright.
It was really a FULL DAY extraordinary excursion! This is definitely one of our fondest memories of Puerto Rico!
Thank you very much!!!

Amazing hosts and great excursions. We first stopped to get fruit smoothies at a PR food shop. Our group spent a good amount of time at the rainforest where we hiked and swam in the water, did jumps and used ropes. We also ate mangos and fruits provided by our host. We then ate at a small family restaurant that had amazing food and a great price.

Bio Bay capped off the night and was a great first time experience for me and my girlfriend.

Island Journeys allowed me and my husband to create beautiful memories of our adventure in El Yunque. But best of all it was such a stress free process with such professional staff. We booked our travels online, ours was a combined Yunque Rainforest hike and then a kayaking excursion to one of the Bio Bays. The night before we received a text giving us all the details for the next day. The most thinking we did that day was figure out how to get to the pickup spot from our airbnb which was only a short 5min walk. From there we were picked up (on time!) and provided with everything we needed. Transportation back was incredible because we were exhausted from all the hiking and kayaking. Both tours took awesome pictures that were made available to us a couple of days after the trip. Such a great experience and we look forward to booking the excursion again on our next family vacation.

This was a day long event with much time spent waiting. We began at the rain forest - there was no water provided throughout the tour. It was very slippery, rainy and one of the guides told me because it was raining if I got hurt they were no longer at fault. We then went to a very expensive restaurant with little to no selection of food where we sat for 2 hours. Then taxied to the kayak location where we were dumped when there was no one from the Kayak Puerto Rico place to receive us. The guide told us the would have bug spray - they did not. I had to purchase at the little store. I was told by another company all the kayak places were required to have bug spray. The kayak guides were not helpful and expected the tour to keep pace with them. There were times you couldn’t see anyone in front of you because they had no lights. The kayak we had didn’t have foot rests for the back passenger. There are no changing rooms at the kayak place so you have to travel back wet or make due with the cramped restrooms. Overall a lackluster day with A LOT of wait time for an ALL day experience the experiences were about 2 1/2 hours and a rushed kayak of 1 1/2 hours. Not worth the money spent.

Our experience was amazing and very adventurous. Our guides were the best and very knowledgeable letting us know some cool things about the rain forest as well as safety tips throughout the rainforest. They made sure we all were safe and patient going up the boulders but made sure we also were having fun. The water fall slide and jumps were super cool. The kayaking at night was interesting and our guide was a comedian so he made the kayaking super fun and funny. Would definitely recommend because this was overall a 10/5 experience from us.
