      Great experience but need improvement
The tour in general was good but too many people doing the tour and therefore the waiting time for the activities was high and the tour time longer than expected (it was supposed to be less). I recommend smaller groups that way the people can move faster. The guides were great, not only knowledgeable but very friendly and helpful all the time.

      San Cristibol Canyon Adventure!
We took the San Cristibol Canyon Adventure Tour with Luis, Ricky, and Omar and had an amazing time! They welcomed us into their group as we swam 6 times in beautiful spots, rappelled down a 200+ foot waterfall and had an amazing views! Rappelling down the tallest waterfall in Puerto Rico was terrifying but very fun due to the experience of Luis and encouragement from Rocky and Omar. Also rappelling and swimming in the stunning blue lagoon was one of the best swims ever! This was truly a once in a lifetime experience and one of the most thrilling and unbelievable moments of our lives!

Amazing experience for teens and school groups!
We took a group of 12 high school students from Alabama and this was the highlight of their visit! Omar and Jonathan were so accommodating and patient with all the kids. We had a student who wanted to go slower and was having a hard time going up the steep hills. Omar and Jonathan split themselves up and one motivated the active kids who enjoyed hiking while the other encouraged the student who was walking behind. We learned so many cool facts about the rainforest and the beautiful vegetation in Puerto Rico because the guides were so passionate about their job and their rainforest. I highly recommend this tour, yet it's a little challenging when going up 4 challenging hills, but if you take it slow, it's worth it. The natural slide was so much fun and the swimming with the waterfall was spectacular. I was personally afraid to slide down the slide and with much encouragement from Jonathan, I made it and glad I did! We stayed a good while swimming and then we hiked back where they had the best food served! They used J &J's food truck owner serving the best food we've eaten our whole trip. It was difficult to say good bye and Omar recorded everything on a Go Pro so you can purchase his footage easily after the tour. Best Day Ever!!

      Best experience!
Wow, most fun I've ever had on an excursion out of anywhere I've been! We were lucky enough to have our own private tour for our group of 4, and the guides showed us a wonderful time, planning and leading us through a trip that really maximized all the activities we could do. They also showed us neat plants and crops and animals along the way, and we got to try fresh banana! It was so fun, and easy going, none of the red tape/commercial feel that you normally get with other tourist-y packages. I highly highly recommend, it's been our favorite day in Puerto Rico so far!

The guides on this tour were great! The experience of rock climbing, rappelling and tight rope bridge crossing was awesome! Best to be physically fit for this adventure guys. The place where we started was a little tricky to find post Hurricane Maria but they are working on getting it back together and even better. Shout out to our camera man/guide Omar. Thank you!-Vince V

      The Best Experience…. Ever
By far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. That goes for my whole group too. Luis, Edgar, and Omar’s energy and knowledge of the rain forest is unbelievable. From natural waterslides to cliff jumps, this tour had it all. You can tell these guys love what they do and it shows! 8 hours of nonstop fun and would do it again when I visit again. 20 out of 10! Thank you for giving sour friend a great start to his bachelor party getaway.

      Amazing, unique, and perfect
If those waterfalls could talk, they'd be joking about us for the rest of the year! This was an amazing tour! It definitely took us out of our comfort zone, but the guides were trust worthy, knowledgeable, and kind. This tour got our adrenaline running like Usain Bolt with all the challenges and unique obstacles. I wouldn't say this for the faint of heart, but the guides let us know that they could cater the tour to our comfort level and we could skip anything we wanted. It was convenient that there were paths down the mountain at the beginning or end of most challenges. The challenges include climbing, swimming, swinging, zip lining, jumping, repelling, and sliding. Be prepared to be scared and conquer your fears, but also be aware that there are innate risks involved in the activities. It was really cool that one of the guides carried a go pro to record us repelling, climbing, and jumping through most of the adventure. Of course it was available to purchase at the end, but it is well worth the cheap price for the blood pumping experience. This was the experience of a lifetime and we can't thank the crew of Montaña Explora enough for providing it in a safe and fun adventure. 100% recommended.

Excellent! Jonathan was an awesome guide & helped me so much to protect my back (medical condition). It’s not an easy hike, but it’s doable and well worth it. Great hike close to San Juan, but in the middle of the forest and with a wonderful view. See pics & videos online. I didn’t take much.

      Outstanding!!
Best Excursion I have ever done in my life! All in one(natural water slides, water falls, hiking, repelling, canyoning, zip-lining, cliff-jumping, swimming, breathtaking scenery, and experience) Highly Recommend going on an adventure with Montana Explore. Montana Explore asked if we like water activities or prefer to hike more. We said a little of both with mostly waterfalls. WOW! They did exactly that. It was incredible. (What to wear: pants that dry fast, light long sleeve shirt, long socks, boots. What to bring: water, snacks, backpack) We started off hiking up along the side of a river with visible waterfalls, pools, and rapids. After the first 10 minutes of a steep incline the path evens out and gradually ascends. Luis and Quinti go completely on your pace and will take breaks whenever, or continue with no stops. Along side of the river, There is breathtaking views. As we were hiking we came at a natural water slide and slid down into a natural pool. After sliding down a couple times we began to hike up and see amazing views. The next stop was about a 20ft water fall with a pool. Luis swam us to a spot under the water fall, (almost like a cave behind the waterfall fall) and then said to swim thru the water fall. Great experience! We continued to hike and came to a steep 40ft drop where we climbed down repelling and ending with a free fall into water. Then we took a break on top of a waterfall overlooking Puerto Rico. Now at the top, we had to get back down. The best part, because we the only way to get down was thru the river (Cliff jumping, canyoning, repelling, zip-lining) After our break, we began zip-lining over the river to the other side, then with the zip-line still attached we built up momentum by running on the ground and jumping back against the angle of the cable stopping a 1/4 way thru, and then repelling straight down. Next we did some river trekking to get down, reaching the top of a water fall and jumped off a 35ft cliff, and then a 30ft cliff. We trekked down the river a little more and then went canyoning down a water fall, stopping on a ledge and jumping 15ft into a natural pool! Then we got to the path again hiking down for 10minutes and we were back to where we started! Absolutely Incredible Experience! I would fly to Puerto Rico for 1day with friends and family just to do this excursion! Thank You so Much Luis and Quinti for the time of a life time!

      Wonderful Day
We were a mixed group of experienced hikers and persons who had a more challenging time of it. Montaña Explora managed to make sure that experienced hikers had a good time and were super motivating and patient with the less experienced members of the group. Definitely felt I got my money’s worth. The views are truly breathtaking. Guides were attentive without being intrusive. If you like safety rails, I wouldnt recommend it. If you want to lose yourself in the mountains for a few hours, I encourage you to book Ricky and his team.

      Camping at Naguabo
One of the best camping experiences for my whole family. I mostly camp on my own, and camping with the whole family (small kids) is a whole different story. Ricky was very helpfull as always, and we had a blast over the weekend. Highly recommended “custom experience”. Petroglyphs, waterfalls, river, hiking, almost everything can be done.

This was an amazing full day excursion! The day was fantastic rock climbing, repelling waterfalls, cliff jumping, zip lining, and tethering across the river and so much more. The views and hike were really great and Luis, the guide, is extremely knowledgeable and we felt very safe doing all the activities. In addition Luis and Jonathan took many pictures of us and air dropped them to us at the end of the day. We were fortunate and the day was just my son and I. The smaller the group the less waiting and the more you can do, The day is catered to the adventure/risk level of the group. I can't say enough about how much fun we had. It is very important to have long wicking pants and shirt. Also, water shoes that can double as hiking shoes. You will be wet the entire time so dry fit is a must. Another recommendation is to have a dry sack with snacks, water and lunch. Leave yourself extra time to find the meeting location. It is hard to find. The directions on GPS are good to mile marker 27.9. When you get to marker 27.9 a sign says "Montana Explora" take a sharp right and then take your first driveway on left (no sign) and is second house (no sign).

This was an amazing experience. Me and my husband did the tour alone and we got to do so many things! They have nice and reliable equipment and they know what they are doing so you never feel unsafe. But don’t get me wrong, this tour is not for the weak! I definitely got banged up repelling and sliding down rocks! It was so much fun though and worth every penny. It’s not touristy at all which I love! It’s remote and really gets your adrenaline pumping. Ricky and Luis were so friendly and joked around with us the whole time. I fell on the rocks so many times and they always caught me! That being said, make sure to wear good waterproof tennis shoes or boots that have good grip. Also it’s best to wear clothes that are at least somewhat water proof because you will be wet the entire time. Bring cash to tip these gentlemen because after the amazing experience you will have you will definitely want to!

I typically am not a huge fan of tours because typically they just try to get you in and out, this was not that!! It was a very personal and friendly experience, we were able to take our time where needed, there was no rush at all! This tour is a MUST do if you are in PR. If you like to hike, and are adventurous, this is the best thing you’ll do. Words cannot describe how fun this adventure was. Very cheap for the money you pay for the experience you are getting. I would recommend just getting a ride from the tour guide because I promise you will not want to drive back on your own after because of how tired you will be!

My wife and I did the Tour with Luis and it was everything that I hoped for. It will by far be the most memorable thing we did in PR.
It was challenging for my wife, but at the end she said she was glad that she did it. There were a couple of things she chose to skip and Luis was very understanding and always told her what her options were ahead of time so she could choose.
The weather has been wet the last few weeks here and the rocks were very slippery. We did ok with the shoes we were wearing, but if we did it again we'd get some canyoneering shoes that provides better grip on the wet rocks.
All in all it was in incredible day and I'm so glad we did it!

This excursion was probably the highlight of a great week in Puerto Rico. We did the full-day tour, and luckily, no one else had booked a trip. so our family of four had basically a private excursion. It's hard to exactly describe the whole trip and do it justice. It includes rock climbing, hiking, rappelling, traversing a waterfall, zip lining, cliff jumping, cable bridges across canyons, swimming, a natural rock water slide, amazing views, and more. I had some trepidation going in, because I'm not the bravest person in the world, but was never really concerned once we got going.

Our guides, Luis and Jonathan, were fantastic. They were extremely safety conscious, so we felt completely safe and in good hands throughout all the activities. In addition, they were very personable, and even took pictures of us throughout the day on their phones, and then sent them to us when we were done.

Now for a few things that you should definitely know about this activity:

    1. It's physically demanding, slippery, and some of it will be scary to some people. You're able to opt out of most of the activities, but if you aren't ready to exert yourself and do some things that look scary, you probably shouldn't do it. You don't need to be in tiptop shape to do this, but it does require some strength, especially the rock climbing early in the excursion.

    2. They recommend long pants, long sleeves, and sneakers, and I agree completely. You might get scraped up against the rocks, and it's good to have your skin protected. Don't wear cotton, because you are going to get wet.

    3. Bring a small backpack with food. They don't provide any food, and you'll be out for 5-6 hours. You'll work up an appetite. The guides handle the backpacks in areas where it's too wet or dangerous for you to hold them.

    4. Be prepared to wait if you're part of a larger group. There's a lot of prep for some of the activities, and for many of them, people go one at a time, There were only four of us, so it wasn't an issue, but I could see it being a slog with a lot of people.

    5. Enjoy!!

Montana Explora did a great job taking us to see the amazing sights of El Yunque. I would highly recommend this professional guide. The guys (Luis, Jonathan, Alex) did a good job introducing us to the equipment and assisted us along the exploration. This is such a beautiful area and getting to explore it up close was a great experience. My daughters said they would come back and do it again!! Highlight of our PR trip this year.

Highly recommend doing this adventure tour! Me and my friends did the 6 hour trip and got to do a lot of fun stuff, like natural water slides, cliff diving, zip line, repealing, swimming in natural springs. The owner and his partner were incredible guides, they knew they work very well. They made the trip even more fun by being so interactive with us. If you're in Puerto Rico and looking for an adventure that you'll never forget this is it!

This was such and awesome experience! On our first full day on vacation here in PR, we did the full adventure tour.
Edgar, Miguel, and Alex (there were a couple more but I can’t remember their names) were super professional, incredibly friendly, and there wasn’t a point the whole time that worried us. I’ve never met people so capable in a rainforest.
I can’t say enough good things about how much we enjoyed it. We drove past the start point by accident and had to call to find it; there was no issue and they were so helpful.
