This experience was overall very good and I would recommend it. However, for the price I feel the experience could be improved in order to get them to five stars. First the good: It’s beautiful! The River/waterfall you will hike along is absolutely breathtaking. You will experience things you couldn’t possibly do on your own. It was a lot of fun!

Room for improvement: There are two main guides. They just sort of take off into the wilderness and you have to chase them. They don’t give any sort of talk at the beginning of the tour, no intro at all, they literally just launch into the jungle. The tour could be improved with an introduction about what you will see and do, perhaps some safety precautions, and a description of the length of the first steep hiking segment. Overall one of the guides was friendlier, but one was very serious and almost mean, issuing one word commands like we were soldiers. This tour could be much improved by adding a guide just for his personality. The only other major downside to this tour is there is a lot of waiting around. We were in a group of 12 and it just takes a lot of time for 12 people to zip line, or jump off a very specific spot of a cliff, etc. Luckily it was usually extremely beautiful when you are waiting, but be prepared to be patient. If they offer a private tour that you can afford, I would recommend doing that.

Also note, the instructions say long pants and long sleeves. We followed them and were glad we did. We slipped a number of times, and the long clothing saved our skin. They do let you on the tour with just shorts and tshirt though as the entire rest of the group we were with did not have long pants or sleeves.

Excellent time with top notch guides that showed our family with teens a true outdoor adventure. Teens were thrilled with the day and were overjoyed with the total experience.

We had two guides for our family of 5 for the “all day” adventure. Luis and Eduardo were tremendous guides that had safety in mind first and read each of us on what we wanted and could do. I cannot say enough about the two of them.

The adventure included hiking, cliff jumping (from 10-35 feet) , rock water slides, abseiling / rappelling and zip lining. An amazing 6 hour day that flew by, all among the amazing rainforest and waterfalls as part of the action.

The south side with Montana Explora seems to have been the best choice. We had two guides for the 5 of us and really had the whole adult playground to ourselves. Other guests at our resort told us they went to the north side with a guided group of 20 and when arrived at the swimming holes there were what they estimated to be 70 people.

With all the action, the surrounding backdrop and guides with their focus on fun and safety, Montana Explora was well worth the price.

This was an amazing full day excursion! The day was fantastic rock climbing, repelling waterfalls, cliff jumping, zip lining, and tethering across the river and so much more. The views and hike were really great and Luis, the guide, is extremely knowledgeable and we felt very safe doing all the activities. In addition Luis and Jonathan took many pictures of us and air dropped them to us at the end of the day. We were fortunate and the day was just my son and I. The smaller the group the less waiting and the more you can do, The day is catered to the adventure/risk level of the group. I can't say enough about how much fun we had. It is very important to have long wicking pants and shirt. Also, water shoes that can double as hiking shoes. You will be wet the entire time so dry fit is a must. Another recommendation is to have a dry sack with snacks, water and lunch. Leave yourself extra time to find the meeting location. It is hard to find. The directions on GPS are good to mile marker 27.9. When you get to marker 27.9 a sign says "Montana Explora" take a sharp right and then take your first driveway on left (no sign) and is second house (no sign).

Upon arrival we were a little unsure what to expect because the meeting place is rustic to say the least. Chickens, goats, and broken down cars but they had a waiver to sign and lifejackets hanging so we gave it a go. This "hike" is intermediate and strenuous at times. It's muddy and very very slippery so proper footwear is a must. Do not wear hiking boots. Water shoes with closed toes and a grippy rubber sole would be best. You will be wet all day so no cotton. Dryfit and spandex are good. They provide helmets and life jackets. There were 9 on our tour with 4 guides. They basically handed out equipment and pointed to the back of a truck and said "get in" and upon arrival at the start they started walking. They didn't say much, they didn't do a group introduction or explain anything about the tour, but they were serious about keeping everyone safe. The guides were always taking positions of safety while we hiked running back and forth helping us with climbing and footings, and guiding us on the trails and over the very very slippery rocks. They worked their tails off all day and gave us a great hike. Highly recommended.

This excursion was probably the highlight of a great week in Puerto Rico. We did the full-day tour, and luckily, no one else had booked a trip. so our family of four had basically a private excursion. It's hard to exactly describe the whole trip and do it justice. It includes rock climbing, hiking, rappelling, traversing a waterfall, zip lining, cliff jumping, cable bridges across canyons, swimming, a natural rock water slide, amazing views, and more. I had some trepidation going in, because I'm not the bravest person in the world, but was never really concerned once we got going.

Our guides, Luis and Jonathan, were fantastic. They were extremely safety conscious, so we felt completely safe and in good hands throughout all the activities. In addition, they were very personable, and even took pictures of us throughout the day on their phones, and then sent them to us when we were done.

Now for a few things that you should definitely know about this activity:

1. It's physically demanding, slippery, and some of it will be scary to some people. You're able to opt out of most of the activities, but if you aren't ready to exert yourself and do some things that look scary, you probably shouldn't do it. You don't need to be in tiptop shape to do this, but it does require some strength, especially the rock climbing early in the excursion.

2. They recommend long pants, long sleeves, and sneakers, and I agree completely. You might get scraped up against the rocks, and it's good to have your skin protected. Don't wear cotton, because you are going to get wet.

3. Bring a small backpack with food. They don't provide any food, and you'll be out for 5-6 hours. You'll work up an appetite. The guides handle the backpacks in areas where it's too wet or dangerous for you to hold them.

4. Be prepared to wait if you're part of a larger group. There's a lot of prep for some of the activities, and for many of them, people go one at a time, There were only four of us, so it wasn't an issue, but I could see it being a slog with a lot of people.

5. Enjoy!!

This was an amazing experience. Me and my husband did the tour alone and we got to do so many things! They have nice and reliable equipment and they know what they are doing so you never feel unsafe. But don’t get me wrong, this tour is not for the weak! I definitely got banged up repelling and sliding down rocks! It was so much fun though and worth every penny. It’s not touristy at all which I love! It’s remote and really gets your adrenaline pumping. Ricky and Luis were so friendly and joked around with us the whole time. I fell on the rocks so many times and they always caught me! That being said, make sure to wear good waterproof tennis shoes or boots that have good grip. Also it’s best to wear clothes that are at least somewhat water proof because you will be wet the entire time. Bring cash to tip these gentlemen because after the amazing experience you will have you will definitely want to!

This was such and awesome experience! On our first full day on vacation here in PR, we did the full adventure tour.
Edgar, Miguel, and Alex (there were a couple more but I can’t remember their names) were super professional, incredibly friendly, and there wasn’t a point the whole time that worried us. I’ve never met people so capable in a rainforest.
I can’t say enough good things about how much we enjoyed it. We drove past the start point by accident and had to call to find it; there was no issue and they were so helpful.

Words cannot describe how awesome this adventure is! I have done many excursions over the country and this one was by far one of top favorite. The tour guides were so helpful and made sure safety was important! I had a few people in my group who can’t swim and they made them feel safe.

I do recommend eating a good breakfast before!

Highly recommend doing this adventure tour! Me and my friends did the 6 hour trip and got to do a lot of fun stuff, like natural water slides, cliff diving, zip line, repealing, swimming in natural springs. The owner and his partner were incredible guides, they knew they work very well. They made the trip even more fun by being so interactive with us. If you're in Puerto Rico and looking for an adventure that you'll never forget this is it!
