El Yunque Rainforest Half-Day Trip from San Juan
From $66.00
Low Price Guarantee
Overview
Discover the natural wonders of El Yunque rainforest on this laid-back half-day exploration from San Juan. Enjoy a walk to a beautiful waterfall, incredible views and more than 240 species of plants and animals that call this sub-tropical habitat home. Your Puerto Rico rainforest tour also includes round-trip transportation from most hotels in San Juan, professional guide and all park entrance fees.
What to Expect
Explore the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest system on this half-day trip. Walk the park’s nature trails, surrounded by tree orchids, giant ferns and wildflowers, as you venture to a camera-worthy collection of waterfalls and panoramic vistas in northeast Puerto Rico.
Start your day with pickup around 7:45am from select hotels in San Juan. Then drive from San Juan to El Yunque, admiring the typical native towns and changing scenery as you ascend higher into the rainforest. This ecosystem is named after the ancient Indian spirit Yuquiyu, who was  believed to have once reigned over all of Puerto Rico, protecting the island and its people.
Begin an easy walk on one of the park's trails, keeping an eye out for any of the area’s wildlife. Make your way along paths thick with tree orchids, giant ferns, wild flowers and tropical hardwood trees, and stop by La Coca Waterfall.
Then make your way back to San Juan, arriving back at your hotel in the early afternoon.

After reading some out the reviews of this and other tours of El Yunque, I chose this one. I knew I did not want to climb up muddy trails or spend all day hiking. Mauricio, our guide, gave us a lot of insight into the...More
