Loved Mayfield falls! A youtube vlog recommended this one for more privacy over YS and I'm glad we went here! It only costs $20 yo get in, you will need water shoes so make sure you bring some. You get a private tour guide my guide was Byron he was awesome! And new alot about the area and the falls. I like how he said it's run by the community and everyone basically comes and volunteers to be a guide so you never know if you'll get the same person again. With that said tipping your guide does help them out especially in such a rural area.
It was not crowded so we weren't rushed and got some great pics taken! You do need to be willing to get wet and be somewhat physically active to climb the rocks and going back up thar STEEP hill! Lol I was out of breath.

Our hike up Mayfield Falls was the highlight of my trip to Jamaica.
Ask for Dave!! He has been working there for about 30 years and you could tell. He was knowledgeable, kind, professional, and offered to take our pictures while we enjoyed the experience.
In this experience, you walk up a river. As you walk, you encounter many small waterfalls and pools. The water is so clean and fresh that Dave said we could drink it (we didn't, but I believe him). We rubbed limestone all over our bodies for a natural spa experience, this left our skin feeling so soft. We even purchased some of the limestone to help local children pay for wifi.
We left our resort around 8am, getting us to the falls around 9:20 (we were staying in Negril). The ride was a little bumpy and I would NOT recommend trying to get here by yourself if you rented a car. The entrance fee was only $20 per person.

Mayfield Falls is definitely a treasure of Jamaica! An interesting drive from Montego Bay through small villages brought us to the spot where guides take you through waterfalls. The water is amazingly clear, the scenery is beautiful, there’s lots of greenery. The guides are knowledgeable about local flora and fauna. We went to avoid a rainy day at the beach. It was dry and sunny on the mountain so we enjoyed the easy hike.
The hike through the Falls is all shaded and an easy hour and a half. The water is refreshing- not too cold. Our guide was named Lester (a.k.a. “chicken“). He thoughtfully guided us through both easy and tricky spots taking particularly good care of one of our daughters who has lower coordination and needed more help. He was full of history and thoughtfulness for each of us ensuring that everyone stayed safe and enjoyed the river. Chicken has apparently guided visitors on the river for over 20 years and cares for everyone. I was told by our driver that he has also seen him take great care of others needing special assistance such as the very young or very old. He helps protect your camera gear and takes pictures. You can ask for specific guides by name. I highly recommend him!
The water in the river is clear and the rocks are not slippery but you definitely want some kind of water shoes. They have some there to borrow if you don’t have any.
The guides keep the groups well spaced apart so you have peace to yourselves and can take pictures with nobody in the background. Lots of photo opportunities and fun surprises along the hike.
It was absolutely beautiful - both the waterfalls and the surrounding greenery. Very special place to visit in Jamaica!

Obrian and Dave guided our family in the perfect tour. It was about an hour of time where we had two men that made us enjoy an already beautiful place. They made our family feel safe during the tour by telling us exactly where to step to avoid any slipping on rocks and even knew the perfect places to stop for photo ops along the way. Incredible experience.

Michael picked us up at TenSing Pen in Negril. The trips was amazing. Not only did we have safe air con transport but we were treated to a stop at a local bakery as well as a brief look at a sugar plantation. Michael answered all of our questions, whether they were about Patois (Jamaican creole), culture, or botany. We also talked food and history with Michael. He taught us everything we could have wanted to know about Jamaica.
Your experience will far surpass the pictures you will see of the falls. Michael called ahead and booked our guide who met us at the car. Within minutes we were knee deep in water. Our river guide deftly helped us up the river letting us frolic in the falls as well as rub limestone sand over ourselves for a natural exfoliant scrub. The falls' guides work carefully to make this as private experience as they can spacing out guides and allowing each group to have a magical jungle experience. Our rainy day adventure was playful and relaxing.
Michael took care of us and I recommend you book him for any tour that he guides.

What an experience. I have been coming to Jamaica 2-3 times a year for the last 30 years. I have done everything from YS falls to Dunes River. I HIGHLY recommend mayfield falls over any other. It is up in the mountains and has not been ruined with tourism like the other falls. It feels like true Jamaica along this beautiful crystal clear water hike. If you decide to go, make sure you ask for Dave. He was fantastic and I am going to add Mayfield Falls to my annual trip and I’ll make sure to ask for Dave.

This was a delightful trip to a series of beautiful waterfalls. The setting was so peaceful and I felt as if I were in a remote jungle.
Ian was an excellent guide and kept me safe and secure.
Michael , our driver, was so congenial and friendly and told us much information about Jamaican life and the terrain and fruits. Very informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend.

We have been there 2 weeks ago, it was our chrismas present. It was just amazing, Michael, our driver is a person naturally kind and sweet. He showed us a big part of Negril, and explain every thing about jamaican life.
We called him 2 more times, he drove us to the blue hole, and we asked him to drive us to the airport, we wanted to say him goodbye. He s a generous and sweet man.
We hope to see him again.

Explore some of Jamaica’s true natural spots with this tour. The trees are phenomenal, the water is incredible, the local knowledge is amazing. Michael was accommodating and laid back. I’d recommend booking from Negril to avoid an extra charge. Taroy, our tour guide, was super friendly and took great care of our phone, snapping some good photos. All you need is a little tipping money and you are set for a great tour!

Highly recommend spending the day at Mayfield Falls & Mineral spring. We had a group of 15 of us; it was a blast. Dave & Dwight were phenomenal tour guides! The water is so refreshing and the rainforest super peaceful. Stopped to lather ourselves with real limestone which made our bodies glow and feel oh so soft! One love
