- sceomuska7280 contributionsRastafari with friendsIt was a wonderful experience. The countryside is beautiful. Our guides Alley and Gilbert were awesome. They shared so much of their history and culture with us. Would definitely recommend and request them as your guides, you won’t be disappointed.Written September 26, 2024
- brianmF4649OC0 contributionsBest time at the RastasafariThis trip meant a lot to us and after reading so many good reviews we had to book it. It’s nice to get off the resort and see the real Jamaica. Starts off with the shuttle driver. He was great, basically a tour guide from the start told us about different things along the drive and even stopped a few places quick to show us some of the different plants and explaining what they are used for. At the safari everyone was welcoming and kind. Our main tour guides were Gilbert and Colwayne. In our opinion we couldn’t have asked for better. They were so informative and kind. They cared about us and what we thought and what they could do to make our experience the best. They took extra time and showed us things we asked about. We even asked to stop by the local school and visit with the kids and that was in another level incredible. My wife was starting to get a migraine and they make us hot and fresh herbal tea from a local herbologist. This is a must do tour and we will be doing this again.Written September 21, 2024
- 235krysh0 contributionsWorth, every, penny!Let me just start by saying, if you are hesitating because you have kids with you, dont. This was one of the highlights of our trip. We wanted a cultural experience, rather than a resort filled one and they answered enthusiastically! We started off by walking with Anna to the ATVs, she stopped along the way, explaining the native fruits and plants and their medicinal uses. We got to taste and touch at our own pace. Then she introduced us to Shane, Lee and Leroy (father and sons) and they took us to the ATVs, made sure we were comfortable and we took off from there. We stopped for pictures, stopped for bites, stopped to walk and explore and they told us stories of every place and every plant we passed. The swimming hole was an experience in itself, we jumped off the bridge and were swept away into the river, which was cold and refreshing. Then tried sugar cane and june plums (a new favorite). After our swim we went to the natural water spring, got to see the cave and drink straight from the ground. Along the entire route, we were introduced to locals, told stories of the land and talked nonstop with our amazing guides. Right before lunch, we landed in the Ganja farm and were told all about the growing process and tried tinctures. Got to do a bit of shopping and headed up the hill for the tastiest meal of our trip! We met the owner who shared his story of how he started Rastasafari and why, took a few more pictures and then head back down the hill for the bus. I loved every second of this visit. They picked us up straight from the hotel, drove us through town and shared what we were seeing along the way. We tried things and did things we never would have experienced without the tour and it was worth every penny and second spent on it.Written September 20, 2024

Myself, wife and son went on the rastafari, we had the amazing duo tour guides “ Shane & Spencer “ what a duo they were. The atv’s were top of the range and hilarious fun! the guys always assured safety belts where in before driving. They never rushed one stop off for pics and fun in the river, met the locals and we where welcomed. This was just a perfect experience and the two guys made it so special, in fact we are about to book again for 2025!! Thank you ratsafari! See you all soon! - radcliffj20240 contributionsOnce in a Lifetime Experience! It started with the warmest Jamaican greeting and then the welcome drink. WOW!! Ella & Tash very knowledgeable and pleasant as the point out the little things that is JAMAICA. ATV guides Colwayne and Gilbert informative and protective. All locals helping to make the Rastafari Experience true to its name. The terrain, views and the history becomes one during this ATV excursion. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The Roaring River is a beautiful community that is being supported by the Rastafari Experience. My son loved every minute of the adventure.Written August 29, 2024
- N3759LAmalikm0 contributionsA Must Go : Rastasafari ExperienceThe RastaSafari Experience hands-down the best UTV tour I've ever experienced. One of the most memorable aspects was witnessing the community's deep involvement in the tour. The guides were incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and made the experience truly enjoyable. This ATV trail offers a unique opportunity to explore the local community, reconnect with nature, and indulge in various activities. From sampling medicinal herbs to swimming, diving and driving, there's something for everyone. Highly recommended!Written August 26, 2024

The company is responsive and also gives back to the community. There was so much harmony between the community members and the company. My tour guides, Ella, Calloway and Richard made sure I had the most amazing time. The vegan meal was exceptional. This tour was the highlight of my trip. I will do it again anytime I’m in Jamaica!Written August 22, 2024
- E8762YVamberk0 contributionsThe best experience! This excursion was our favorite! They sent a driver to pick us up from our resort, he was VERY nice, professional, and answered all of our questions along the way. Once we got there we were greeting and given a complementary drink, and then walked up a pathway to our ATV. The two ladies who walked us were very nice and knowledgeable about the land and plants we passed by. When we got to the ATVs they had one waiting for us ready to go. We got lucky and times our tour right between two other busy tours, so we basically got a private tour. It was amazing. The tour guides took us through the mountains, and a village. We stopped at a local hangout spot and swam in the alkaline mineral water! We also stopped at a ganja farm and saw how they grow their pot! Very cool! And then they fed us a delicious vegan meal that was the best meal of our whole trip! Better than anything we had at the resort! When we returned to our starting point, it was the last day of their children's summer camp and the kids were putting on a dance/show for their families. It was amazing. This business gives back so much to their community children. Highly recommend!! It was very fun and the highlight of our trip!Written August 22, 2024

- 181je0 contributionsAn excursion of a lifetimeFamily and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the tour guides were top class - MASSIVE SHOUT OUT TO Shane & Neiko for their warm welcome and for providing us with an in-depth exploration and explanation during the guided tour. The breathtaking scenery left me speechless, causing me to gasp multiple times and filling me with a deep sense of wonder at its extraordinary beauty. Furthermore, I loved the all-terrain aspect as it added excitement and exhilaration to the overall journey. We even had the chance to spend time with the community which was a joy. Lastly, we were treated to a delicious, exquisite meal before concluding our day at Rastasafari. To conclude, exploring the ineffable essence of Rastasafari transcends mere verbal expression; it necessitates a personal immersion to fully grasp its enchanting marvels. I emphatically urge embarking on this journey as I assure you of its unparalleled satisfaction! Profound gratitude extends to the array of tour guides, vendors, the chefs, the owner, and notably the vibrant community woven into this extraordinary venture—an indubitably unique and unparalleled expedition. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!Written July 30, 2024

The trip was with my adult family of 5 on New Year's Day. I had thought that we were booking a fun ride on newer Polaris RZR side by sides, eat lunch and see some pot plants. But, although we did, the ride to and from where it was held ruined 90% of the tour. The driver, Fambo, was fast talking, recklessly driving, cutting off other drivers, passing everywhere, tailgating anyone in front , or passed them with 3-5 other cars on turns. He asked if we were having fun and we told him no. We asked him to slow down, and he laughed and told us to chill out, to not stress him out or it could get bad. He only did it twice on the way there. But got really out of control on the way back. We were all fearing for our lives in a possible crash, full of adults, on a winding back country road.
We got out at the first hotel back and refused to ride with him . We paid for a cab to take us the rest of the way home
The Polaris Side by side ride was extremely slow and controlled. No fun at all. One machines was broken, they had to split the group in two parts.
The lunch was great.
The pot field was there Probably 250-350 plants in 3-4 groups
Stopping to swim in a couple creeks was fun.
Two of the tour guides were all rolling and smoking pot most of the time. But even if the ride had been calm and safer, the rest of the experience is way over priced.
When I got back I notified the tour scheduler and Tri Advisor of our formal complaint of that tour driver. the tour operator offered a $100 refund

Hello,
I think it is very sad on your part to give us such a bad rating because of the bad experience you had with fambo on the road coming. After a good talk with Fambo, he apologized, just so we did to you, and that is why the refund of 100$usd. We altough think that the 1 star rating is by vengeance to the driver and the bad experience he gave you, and have nothing to do with the RastaSafari Experience overall. Fambo has been warned. You guys take care

It was amazing. So many places in the world have the same tourist traps as everywhere else. It’s amazing to see and experience something like this. Before this experience we swam in the luminous lagoon and were sure nothing could beat that unique experience. We were happily wrong!
It is a very personal tour- you never feel rushed with your personal guide (we had a party of 3 with 2 amazing guides, Dino & Leroy). You get to see stunning views of Jamaica, drive an ATV, and experience the local herbs ;) which is awesome. Prices for beer and other things are decent enough (and negotiable) but you’re going to want to bring around $100 a person if you want to sample everything & buy souvenirs. If you’re just going for the experience I’d say you could get away with $40 which would cover a couple beers and some well deserved tips for the guides.
It also helps to know that this is a tight knit Jamaican community- not some built up resort or tour business. Knowing the money you spend goes directly back to the community made every dollar easy to give away. More on that the owners are actually there on sight to greet you! They started the tour out of pure love for the land and people there and it really shows. All in all this was amazing to experience and if I ever come back to Jamaica this will be the first thing I do. Pure fun from start to finish.

This experience/tour was the highlight of our vacation. From my conversations via Facebook back and forth until we were dropped back off at our resort, everyone we encountered was amazing. The experience, seeing the community, meeting the people within the community and being surrounded with the Jamaican culture was the absolute best. The people and the land are absolutely beautiful and welcoming. This tour opened your eyes to this and much more. Our resort was a little out of the pick up areas mentioned but they were very accommodating and for a small additional fee agreed to pick us. Our driver, Denis, was AMAZING! He was punctual, friendly, VERY knowledgeable of ALL things Jamaica, Rasta, the tour and the community we were visiting. Denis kept us entertained, answered my many questions (sorry Denis) and always had a smile on his face. Once we arrived to the community we were warmly greeted and offered a refreshing Rum and Boom! (Love!! and definitely have to try it!) Afterwards, Terry Ann took us on a short walk on the property talking about the land, the river and how they live off the land. Once we got to our meeting place our personal tour guides were waiting for us along with the Dune Buggies. We got to pick our guide, right when I saw Style, I knew he had to be our tour guide. Style had dreadlocks and I knew he was my person for this tour. And of course we picked the right tour guide. Style was hands down the THE BEST!!!! Style is a walking book of knowledge. He made sure we had the best time on our tour while also learning and taking everything in.
I do not want to give away the entire tour so I will leave it here. I am already planning this experience again when we return during our family vacation. I really want my children to experience this tour. One Love!

We had a great time on this trip. We went with another family and we both had a great experience. We learned a lot about the Jamaica culture, history and nature. Our tour guides were top notch and we got to see another side of Jamaica. The four wheelers are in great running condition and we felt very safe in them. If you only do one excursion while in Jamaica this is the one to do. The owners and guides kept saying “powerful”which meant “very good”, I absolutely agree with them.

We booked this on recommendation of some friends and was looking forward to it. What we experienced exceeded expectations by miles. We were collected by Dale from the hotel and driven to the Rastersafari location at Roaring River. The trip was well broken with rest stops and an experience of local fruits from a roadside vendor.
The trip on the ATVs was excellent, driving yourself through the old sugar cane fields guided by 3 guides on motorbikes. We stopped at the river and met with locals selling nuts and coconuts at an excellent price. Following the trip we given a vegan meal.
On the whole we found the experience both informative and fun and would definitely recommend. The staff were brilliant, more than willing to share their experiences and answer questions. We especially want to thank our guides, Gilbert, Colwain and Dino. Not to forget Dale Haye.
Thank you all for making our day unforgettable.

This was the best ATV excursion I’ve been on! The tour guides were awesomely chill! They took us through the countryside, stopped throughout for picture opportunities & gave us some insight into the lives of the people that live in the villages & how they make money off of marijuana farming. We got to swim in a beautiful inlet with ridiculously clear water! That was expected! Lol At the end of the tour, we were served a vegan lunch. Not my first choice, especially being that he showed us the packaging of the ‘meat’, which I won’t say what it looked like, but definitely made it even less appetizing.
They had souvenirs and a pleasant little lady selling coffee beans. We asked about brewed coffee and they told us they do coffee at the end of the tour. (They didn’t) My only suggestion would be to offer coffee to those early morning guests.
For ATV riders: be 1st or very last in the line if you can, keep your distance otherwise you’re going to suck up a lot of dirt, wear sunglasses to protect your eyes!
They’ll stop for drinks & snacks, the lady that sells the aloe LOVES American snacks! She would probably barter with you.
Highly recommended!

My husband and I had the best time on this ATV experience! We loved swimming in the Roaring River and hearing stories about the village. Our guide Richie was very professional and had lots of knowledge about the areas that he showed us. Everyone who helped put this together was super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this experience to all!

Neiko, Bobby, and Collin were great! Roaring River is a lovely tight knit community and we really enjoyed riding around the ATVs, understanding more about their community in the local area. We went on a ride with the ATVs, sample sugarcane, and a chance to jump off a bridge into the river. Another group had ever driven ATVs before, and they were so patient in teaching us. Located a little further away in the interior (be confident in your driving skills if you drive yourself, though there are shuttle services from the major hotels), well worth the half day trip into the island for the experience. Also there is a cave that can be explored for an additional $25/person which is highly recommended as well and if you are able to swim in the pool you should take the opportunity!

This is a fantastic look into the way of life in rural Jamaica away from the resorts and congested cities. These wonderful people invite you into their world and share stories of their families and community. The experience takes you through different farms in the community by ATV on little back roads. You will swim in the cleanest river of mineral water. They take you into peoples farms and show you all the fruit and herbs growing there. They’ll pick it and let you inhale the scent that’s a 100 times more amazing than what you’ll use at home. They knocked down mangoes for us and cut them for us to eat. The vegan meal was delicious, as were the rum and ganja wine (you read that correctly). The guides are very knowledgeable, friendly, and generous. There are many small shops along the way, so I highly recommend bringing a couple hundred in small bills for spending cash and tips. There are many homemade and homegrown items such as handmade jewelry, the most amazing coffee, and of course locally sourced ganja in different forms.

What is the best attire…..what kind of shoes clothing? If we swim, should we bring a change of clothes?
Do you recommend a small pouch of backpack for essentials?
Written May 4, 2023
I wore a bathing suit with cover up. My husband wore quick dry clothing. I would suggest wearing clothing that can quickly dry and water shoes or closed toe shoes that are lightweight. No need to pack an extra set of clothing. You won’t be in the water long.
