- E7449FLmicheller0 contributionsDon’t look, just jump.Michael our your guide collected us from our hotel, nice comfortable car and great guy! Educated us on all local trees and vegetation didn’t mind all our questions! The blue hole was a great experience, Theo the life guard was fabulous and stayed with our young son while myself and wife went to get a drink. He spent lots of time with our lad in the water diving down too! We then left and was taken to a farm, that was very impressive!! It’s Well worth doing for sure!Written September 4, 2024
- Brenda H0 contributionsGreat tripWe had a great tour, very informative and enjoyed everything! The YS falls was very interesting, had a great private tour guide, he took our pictures, then Appleton was very informative, answered lots of questions, guide there was knowledgeable and pleasant. Great service there and the tasting was unique. Went to Floyd’s place, Pelicans bar in the water. Very unique place. It was a long drive from Negril, but worth it.Written June 1, 2024
- Brenda H0 contributionsVery hospitableOur tour guide was great, the scenery was beautiful, the locals were friendly! The food was a great Jamaican experience! Jamaica Hidden Treasures was wonderful, pleasant, pick up on time, answered questions, and pointed out anything he thought we’d be interested in. An amazing experience, very thankful to Mike!Written June 1, 2024
- iscream220 contributionsHad a blast!I had an awesome time checking out the fields and swimming in the Blue Hole. Our driver was super friendly, polite, and knew a lot about the area. The Rastafarian guides were really experienced, skilled, and just cool to hang out with. If you're into the 420 lifestyle, I highly recommend this trip. The Blue Hole was a bit scary at first, but I manned up and took the plunge. It looked kinda spooky when I was about to jump, but if you just do what they tell you, it's a great time. I loved it and I definitely recommend this excursion ✌️Written February 16, 2024
- katherinejZ2211DW0 contributionsWhy take a taxi?!Flying with Airlink was a great experience. Despite our delayed flights getting to Montego Bay, Airlink was very accommodating and got us to and from Montego promptly. I will always book with them when I visit Jamaica.Written December 31, 2023

White sand beach, soft water 85 degrees…perfect However Negril has so much more to offer… get off the beach and enjoy the eco tourism that Negril and surrounding towns have to offer. Check out Bento Fall, Missile ATV Adventure Park, Hummingbirds Garden, Blue Hole.Written August 22, 2022
- 819ruthg0 contributionsReal Jamaican Country Life, Beautiful Scenery and a fun ATV Experience!I visited the Blue Hole and roaring river with some friends and it was quiet but very beautiful. We loved soaking in the cool calming waters. Great place to go for a relaxing day out seeing rural Jamaica and getting a taste for the local food and countryside. Marley was running the ATV tours and was so helpful. I drove up with my friends from our hotel in Ocho Rios but my GPS was faulty, so he and the manager from the Blue Hole followed me out of town so I could get onto the main road to head back to Ochi where we were staying. Marley and his team go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience on the ATVs. The location is off the beaten track so make it a full day experience and contact them in advance so everything can be arranged for you, as there is the ATV experience, blue hole, roaring river and a local restaurant all on site. Well worth the effort!Written June 22, 2022
- Todd O0 contributionsAmazing Day Trip Along Jamaica's South Coast with MichaelWe did the South coast experience without the Appleton Rum tour. YS Falls was gorgeous, even if we did do it the day after a hurricane glanced the North coast and the falls were roaring. Pelican Bar was definitely worth the trip and we'll do that again in the future. But the best part was just exploring the south coast with Michael. He stopped at a few roadside stands for some amazing escovitch snapper, and the many little coves we stopped at for a Red Stripe and to meet with the local fishermen. We also paired the Pelican Bar trip with a lobster dinner beforehand that was amazing. Michael has been driving for us for over five years whenever we've flown into Jamaica. We can't recommend him enough!Written June 21, 2022
- kevingardam10 contributionsExhausting day…A 12hr exhausting trip. Hilites were the Rum factory with its history and rum tasting and the YS Falls with its zip wire ride and clean running waters. Would have liked more time at the falls as felt alittle rushed. Rushed to where you ask? Well the climax of the day was to a wooden island 400 yards off a beach, kinda weed heaven in my opinion. Could have missed that happily. Maybe an itinerary rethink would be sensible for families. Bus ride is interesting as the roads are in a terrible state….and we sat in that for 5-6 hrs doh! Personally a car to the factory and falls would have been enough for a great day out…that’s my 5 cents.Written February 16, 2022
- lytsout10 contributionsAmazing DayAmazing day spent with guide Michael Cockburne. Michael was perfect. He has a natural instinct to know when to talk and when to keep to himself. Our three scheduled stops were awesome and he made some unscheduled stops that were great too. I'd definitely recommend this tour.Written February 12, 2022

- N6620JKmichaelw0 contributionsGreat tour & a greater guideThe tour was really cool and a great way to experience some hidden treasures of Jamaica, but our guide Michael was awesome! There’s definitely a reason he has such great reviews. He went above and beyond any guide i’ve ever had and really did everything possible to educate us on the local culture & history. He made extra stops along the way to have us try local delights as well as some of the island’s native fruits and even brought us to a small market to see how some of the local foods were prepared & sold. I wish I had found Michael sooner to have him take us on the rest of our tours! You’ll be missing out on an awesome, friendly experience if you use a different tour company.Written July 8, 2021

Our hike up Mayfield Falls was the highlight of my trip to Jamaica.
Ask for Dave!! He has been working there for about 30 years and you could tell. He was knowledgeable, kind, professional, and offered to take our pictures while we enjoyed the experience.
In this experience, you walk up a river. As you walk, you encounter many small waterfalls and pools. The water is so clean and fresh that Dave said we could drink it (we didn't, but I believe him). We rubbed limestone all over our bodies for a natural spa experience, this left our skin feeling so soft. We even purchased some of the limestone to help local children pay for wifi.
We left our resort around 8am, getting us to the falls around 9:20 (we were staying in Negril). The ride was a little bumpy and I would NOT recommend trying to get here by yourself if you rented a car. The entrance fee was only $20 per person.

We were looking for a day trip inland to see something of rural Jamaica, and wanting to go somewhere that wasn't swamped with crowds of other tourists. The drive to the falls was lovely and Michael is a great guide, pointing things out along the way and surprising us with a snack bought from a local bakery.
The spring water of Mayfield was crystal clear with fall after fall to sit in and plunge pulls to swim in, all set within a lush green forest. We only saw three other groups whilst touring the falls.
We had a nice late lunch with Michael on the way back to Negril.
We highly recommend Michael and Mayfield Falls.

This is an amazing walk through a mineral-filled river. Natural jaccuzis at ever step as you journey higher and higher up the river. We are in our late 60s, so Yuki our guide gave us the 'seniors' tour. He was so attentive and careful as he led us through the waters, over rocks and guided us into the rushing waters. I'm sure he spent close to 2 hours with us, telling us about medicinal plants and life in the small mountain communities. This is a fabulously memorable experience.
Couple of notes: entrance fee is now $25 USD/person.
Wear any shoes that you can wear in the water - I used my trek sandals.
Wear a bathing suit.
We hired Dwayne's Tours to take us to the site and home for $70/person - and we were gone more than 5 hours.
This river feels like a magical place.

I visited Mayfield Falls to see a different side of Negril. I was also interested in these falls as they were not as touristy as YS and Dunns river.
The trip was booked through ‘Jamaican Hidden Treasures’ and I was blessed with Michael as my guide. He was brilliant! I was travelling solo and was booked with two other people and the whole day was excellent.
Michael is exceptionally knowledgable and expertly shared historical, social and geographical insights as we drove to the falls. He stopped so that we could buy fruit from a local stall and so that we could get a good view of the sugar cane fields as we drove.
Our drive was spectacular and we arrived at the falls in good time. The falls were stunning and suitable for all ages and abilities. I was quite nervous about slipping on the rocks but was able to enjoy the soothing waters whilst the rest of the group clambered on further along. I had a section of the falls all to myself for about 45 mins and it was nothing short of magnificent.
The guides on site were friendly, knowledgeable and skilled. This was definitely the highlight of my trip. Take some time away from the sunlounger and experience a part of what rural Jamaica is about. 10/10 would recommend!
There are steep stairs to get to and from the falls but they are easily negotiated.

Mayfield falls is absolutely amazing. It was just my husband and I on the tour and our tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable about all the indigenous plants we saw on property. Our driver Michael was very nice and went over and above. I would recommend Jamaican Hidden treasures to anyone who wants to see something beautiful off the beaten path

Michael picked us up at TenSing Pen in Negril. The trips was amazing. Not only did we have safe air con transport but we were treated to a stop at a local bakery as well as a brief look at a sugar plantation. Michael answered all of our questions, whether they were about Patois (Jamaican creole), culture, or botany. We also talked food and history with Michael. He taught us everything we could have wanted to know about Jamaica.
Your experience will far surpass the pictures you will see of the falls. Michael called ahead and booked our guide who met us at the car. Within minutes we were knee deep in water. Our river guide deftly helped us up the river letting us frolic in the falls as well as rub limestone sand over ourselves for a natural exfoliant scrub. The falls' guides work carefully to make this as private experience as they can spacing out guides and allowing each group to have a magical jungle experience. Our rainy day adventure was playful and relaxing.
Michael took care of us and I recommend you book him for any tour that he guides.

We had a really nice day at the waterfalls and were more than positively impressed by our guide JEROME. We can only recommend him with a clear conscience. Not only did he guide us through the jungle and the water, he also documented everything really well with our cell phone. And he also transported our things safely and dryly. That was a great service. 5 stars for Jerome 😎✌️

Incredible experience! This place is an unspoiled gem and a must see if you love nature and a bit of adventure! It's $25 USD cash per person admission, but be sure to bring cash to pay your guide. Lester was our guide, and he is extremely knowledgeable about the river and natural world in the area. He was really fun too! (We used Joe Cool taxi round trip from Negril to access Mayfield Falls)

Ask for Jerome and Andray as guides. They are exceptional! They made all of us comfortable despite our varied swimming skill levels and could tell us every stone to step on to keep us upright. They took great pictures and videos with our phone to help us capture the experience. Andray took special care of my 6 year old, making sure she was safe and comfortable for the entire hike. Everyone from start to finish was great and only made the once in a lifetime hike up the river through the falls that much more special!

Approximately how long is the entire tour (from pickup at hotel to return)?
Written March 12, 2019
My husband and I are interested in this excursion for January 1st, but when I check the availability it said that 1-15 children are required for this tour. I’m wondering if this is an error on the website or are you serious?🤔
