- CopeFamily0 contributionsSka/Reggae heritage tour in Kingston - unforgettable!Amazing day in Kingston, Jamaica for a music and culture tour. For a life-long ska and reggae fan, it was almost a religious experience! Trip included the following: - Walking tour of Downtown Art District - Orange Street (birthplace of ska) and Rockers International Record shop - Trench Town Culture Yard tour - Tuff Gong Studios tour (and recording session!) We had the best day, courtesy of Karen at Jamaica Cultural Tours, driver Steve, guides Courtney and Spikes and studio engineer Oneil. Cannot thank you all enough! 😊Written January 14, 2025

- eveb8380 contributionsThe best Blue Mountains visit!Such a wonderful trip by our wonderful guide, Karen. Karen drove us through Kingston, giving us a few history of the country and city, as we moved from the city to the mountains. As part of the Jamaican diaspora abroad, it was nice to see Jamaica again with new eyes and fresh memories. Craighton Estate was beautiful - staff were lovely and the coffee talk and tasting were detailed and thorough. The coffee was delicious and it felt particularly special to drink it surrounded by THE Blue Mountains! The views from the Mountains were incredible. So so amazing! Karen was a fantastic guide; super knowledgeable and engaging and it was overall such a great day!Written October 25, 2024

We had to cancel our 2020 visit because of the pandemic. The tour was everything we expected it to be. Karen was extremely knowledgeable and considerate. Her local perspectives were valuable. - Sandra E0 contributionsAuthentic and personalized tourIf you want an authentic experience of Kingston this is a great way to see history and embrace the culture in a very personalized way. Many thanks to our driver Hewitt and tourguide Courtney- wonderful communication and this pair was tons of fun and positive energy - we were picked up from our apartment and they had us laughing and singing the entire tour. Our first stop was the Bob Marley museum which was excellent and detailed, well curated and we learned so much. Second stop was historic Devon House where we got to walk around and also had the BEST ice cream I’ve ever had (they were not lying lol it’s really that good!) Hewitt also recommended we try the Goat Curry patty at the bakery- another winner! Next stop was Trench town cultural center, truly eye opening, we left with a deeper understanding of the rich history and influence of a place we hear so much about in music and poetry, it was like putting a face to a name. We also saw some beautiful street art and Courtney took great photos for us. Last stop was the record store on Orange Street- another place where it was so cool to step into a space where so much happened, it was great energy, seeing all the records and just embracing where we were. We want to Truly thank Courtney and Hewitt for a wonderful experience!Written April 7, 2024
- W6387CHcathyk0 contributionsMemorable TourThis day trip was one of the highlights of our time in Jamaica. Hewitt and Courtney are excellent drivers and tour guides. They are informative and friendly and open to all questions. We gained a better understanding of Jamaican culture and history through this tour. The guides went at our pace and ensured that we made the most of our time at all four locations: Bob Marley Museum (an absolute treasure), Devon House for the best ice cream ever, Trench Town culture yard, and Orange Street downtown. Thank you for an unforgettable day!!Written March 31, 2024

It was our first visit to Jamaica and we wanted to see more than the beach resorts. We try to visit the capital of the country early to better understand the culture and people. Kingston, however, can be somewhat daunting, especially for first-timers. We worked with Karen to put together a tour itinerary and transportation arrangements. It was very easy to work with Karen. She was always responsive and collaborative in putting together an itinerary that hit our highlights but also included things we likely would have missed without her input.
As to the tour itself - so much depends on the guide. We had Courtney as our tour guide and he was terrific - knowledgeable, efficient, personable. We learned that most Jamaicans are excellent singers and had our first lessons in patois. We had a lot of interesting conversations with Courtney (and the drivers) and were very satisfied with the two days.
I would gladly recommend Jamaica Cultural Enterprises to anyone looking for a personalized tour of Kingston or its surroundings.

My boyfriend and I went on a full-day Kingston city tour with Courtney as our guide and we highly recommend it! We visited the Bob Marley Museum, Devon House for lunch, the National Heroes Park, Water Lane, and Trench Town Culture Yard. Each stop was unique and Courtney was a very knowledgeable, friendly, and fun guide. Organizing the trip with Karen was very smooth and she even accommodated us on a specific day and with our specific interests. Everything ran on time and as planned. Highly recommend and would definitely love to do tours with JCE next time we’re in Jamaica! Thank you, Karen, and your excellent team!

My family and I visited Jamaica in June 2024. This was a very big trip for us as native Jamaicans -- basically returning home to the motherland after 3+ decades in the United States. It was more of a homecoming celebration than a vacation, and the team at JA Cultural Tours made it incredibly special.
I wanted to learn all of the history I missed growing up in the US, so I booked two tours: 1) the Kingston Walking Tour and 2) the Blue Mountain Tour.
On the Kingston Walking Tour, my family and I learned a "whole-heep" of Jamaican history. Courtney took us into the heart of downtown and helped us understand/remember the cultural components that make Jamaica Jamrock. Through music, language, art, and food, we got the full Kingston experience.
A few days later, Courtney and the lovely guy who drove us up the mountain (I cannot remember his name at the moment -- forgive me!) gave us the Blue Mountain experience where we journeyed up to the mountain top to witness for ourselves the beauty that lives in the Blue Mountains and to also learn why Jamaica has some of the best coffee in the entire world. On this tour, we got the best views, the best food, the best coffee, and some of the best laughs on our entire trip.
The Blue Mountain Tour was my absolute favorite and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting Jamaica, but especially for coffee lovers.
Overall, the JA Cultural Tours team are not only professionals, but they create an experience that one can only find in Jamaica -- this is what makes them the best. Courtney is beyond amazing at what he does and how he tells the story of our country with immense pride.
Big ups to the JA Cultural Tours team, we will come back soon to learn more from you guys.

We had a wonderful tour led by Courtney and Kenton, who looked after us so well.
Organising this tour went so smoothly and professionally through emails with Karen who put together a tour with our timings in mind. We were a family of eight, in Kingston for the day, and were being picked up at 9am and dropped back at our hotel at 2pm.
We visited the Bob Marley Museum, Devon House for patties, Rockers International Record Shop, the Downtown art murals and Trench Town Cultural Yard.
Courtney and Kenton were fun to be with, gave us great insight into Jamaican life and were so knowledgeable. In fact, we learnt more from Courtney about Bob Marley’s life than from the official guide! The use of music as we walked round the art murals really brought them to life. For an understanding of the ‘government yard in Trench Town’ a visit to the cultural yard is a must.
The tour gave us a positive impression of Kingston (very different from what you hear in the news) and we appreciated this introduction to its rich vibrant cultural life.

Brilliant day tour hosted by Hewitt of Jaculture. Prompt pickup from hotel and then went above and beyond to show me the sights of Kingston, whilst also explaining the history and culture of the city. His fun and personable approach made for many laughs from the Bob Marley Museum, Devon House, Orange Street, Art District and finally Trench Town. Highly recommend and thanks again for a fun and informative day.

Everything was amazing! Courtney was great he picked us up from our hotel with the driver Marlon right on time. We enjoyed the rich history of University of West Indies, then went to National heroes pasrk, took a drive through downtown Kingston and the market, then the highlight Trench town! So much rich history Courtney is very knowledgeable about the history of Kingston and how it came to be. Our final stop was Devon house and we had some yummy ice cream. The tour was the highlight of our stay in Kingston and I would 100% recommend it. Thank you Courtney, Karen and Marlon. My sisters and I loved the tour. It was an awesome experience.

I spent the majority of my trip to Jamaica in Negril, so when I came to Kingston for 2 days I had to make the most of it. I checked out tours that would give me just the right amount of experience on the weekend. Because a lot of places are closed on a Sunday, I lucked out in finding this option. The guide was exceptional and thoughtful. I felt comfortable and totally enjoyed chatting with her throughout our time together. There is walking, but not a lot to feel fatigued or anything of the sort, the lovely weather that day probably helped out. It was warm, but breezy! Trenchtown was eye opening and very informative, and the art district was the star of the day. Also, when at Devon house definitely try the curry goat patty!

Hello, we are arriving at Kingston airport early in the morning November 14/18 and need to wait for my parents to land in the evening before travelling together to Ocho Rios. We want to be able to see the capital and wondered whether we would be able to be picked up from the airport, do the tour, then be taken back to the airport? Thank you for your help in this matter.
