We booked this blind, on the basis of the website description, and had a great time. Aaron’s enthusiasm is infectious, telling us some of his life story as he led us up hill and down dale in the woods of St David’s (or maybe St Andrews) to the patch of land that holds his cocoa, bans and spice plantations. Although labelled as a Rastafarian experience, the religious aspect was almost invisible as his Uncle and cousin shared with us how they worked WITH the land, rather than on it.

Senses of taste, smell and sight were all delighted during our time with the guys. Lunch (vegetarian and “Ital” -look it up) was tasty and nutritious.
I recommend this highly for the mobile, young, and young-at-heart. It’s not a rigorous hike, but you are out in the woods, and have to be happy with rocky, muddy and slippery paths.
Be aware that transport from your hotel may not be included, and that the track up to the farm really needs a 4wd vehicle: a normal taxi or rental car will have trouble in the wet, and you don’t want to be marooned!

Thanks, Guys.

This tour is filled with rich history, hands on learning and warm people with unique stories. You walk away from the experience more knowledgeable and nourished than you arrived. I think other tours should take a page from Tri Island’s book and out in more effort into creating more unique and authentic experiences.

We experienced a cocoa/ spice farm through our 5 senses and met Aaron (the farmer/most enthusiastic tour guide) and his rasta family who taught him all he knows about the land and support him on the farm. At the end of the tour, we were all sitting on rocks by a river listening to the wisdom of his rasta uncle while eating delicious Ital (rastafarian cuisine), served from a huge pot by a beautiful rastafarian woman. Amazing.

This is the real farm experience. We did not only learn lots about growing cocoa, but also about other spices, beekeeping and were able to make our own calabash bowls. The highlight is the rastafarian experience with ital food. Absolutely recommend this tour to everyone that wants to see more of Grenada than just beaches

If you want a real, educational, and fun experience while visiting Grenada - definitely do this tour, it's wholesome and worthwhile. Aaron is the best guide full of zest and knowledge, who knows what every single green and growing thing is and what it could be used is for. Walking through the land your senses are in overload - on the perfect Caribbean day even the leaves light up. I was in my element tasting natural cocoa, smelling fresh lemongrass and cinnamon, and then indulging on a sugary treat called sapadilla - all fresh from his land. Blossoming cocoa trees are all around you and Aaron shared the incredible process of harvesting and making his tasty Tri-Island chocolate bars. This is the ultimate tour to feel connected to nature and the island in an authentic way. A must!!

Don't miss out on this opportunity to get to know some great locals, both the human kind, and the vedgetable ones. Learn how cocoa is grown and turned to chocolate, and taste the fresh cocoa pulp (recommend a trip to the factory after the tour, to get the whole story!).
