Must do in Punta Cana. No time wasted at all.
No time wasted on this trip. Stopped at a plantation and watched presentation of cacao, how coffee is made and free samples of course. They are selling local products but they are not pushy for you to buy them. Experience with the monkeys was excellent, had plenty of time to interact with them. We waited for them to come to us when the trainers were putting food on a plate we were holding. Lots of monkeys to see. I think this is not good for kids younger than 5 as they are easily freaked out. Not a trip for those with peanut allergy. This trip should not be missed. No complaints from pick up to drop off (7:55-1230). Then you have time to parasail in the afternoon…..

    Monkey interaction was fun
We went as a family, the pickup from hotel was fine and then we made three other stops. Then a 40 minute drive so this kind of sucks when you do the early tour, it couldn’t imagine being there in the heat of day. Our staff was great the entire time. The monkey adventure was fun as they give you a small bowl with some food in it for Them to climb all over you. You have about 45 minutes with the monkeys, then it got a little slow. As the new group arrived at reception center, we were trying to buy photos and there was confusion as to where to go. The. We waited in the heat too long to go to coconut house which was good culture but the teens were ready to go to resort. So we walked back to bus area and our driver and host weren’t out looking for us. All the other guests were getting into their buses and we were there in the direct sun sweating looking for our bus. After some confusion, the told us our bus number and it turned out our guide was sitting in the AC bud instead of our trying to find us and let us in.

    Lifelong Dream Fulfilled
I have loved monkeys all my (long!) life and when I learned about Monkeyland a few years ago, I knew had to go! The trip exceeded my very wild expectations in every way: organized tour package, knowledgeable guides (Gary and Francisco plus the two gentleman whose names I cannot remember but who did a fabulous job on the afternoon of August 2, 2023!), and adorable squirrel monkeys on my head! I was in heaven.

Monkeys, coffee and cocoa in DR!
The trip was amazing and informative! Not only was it fun to interact with the monkeys, we learned so much about the Dominican and its culture. Our driver was excellent! Very smooth ride and comfortable bus in air conditioning. Our guide Eddie also did an excellent job! So friendly and knowledgeable! Loved it and laughed a lot! Was also nice to buy some of the local fare!

    Wonderful People
Our tour guide Angel was knowledgeable about DR history and equally entertaining. The Monkeyland experience itself felt a little rushed but overall it was very enjoyable. The guys were nice and took great pictures of you interacting with the monkeys. We went to the casita where they produce coffee and chocolate and show you how they make it from scratch. The people running the casita are very welcoming. I loved learning about all the different ways they use the cacao fruit and coffee beans. They had products for sale after getting to taste the hot chocolate, coffee and mamajuana. I bought the cacao butter and I'm upset that I didn't buy a bigger tub because that stuff is amazing!!!! I loved the entire experience!

    Had a great time
It was lot of fun. A bit of a drive to get there from our Punta Cana hotel, but you get to see how some of locals live during the drive. Plus our tour guide, Sammy was entertaining and kept the jokes coming for the duration of the trip. The squirrel monkeys did not disappoint. They jumped on our heads, backs, arms and we had plenty of time to take our own pictures. The plantation tour was ok. It was informative about the making of coffee and cocoa, and you got to sample drinks. I would definitely recommend doing this if you get the chance.

    Just Monkeying Around
My family cane to monkeyland to enjoy a jungle experience and celebrate the Dominican culture, including coffee and cocoa. It was a great experience and celebration by all. Young Boy was an excellent host who happens to be able to speak multiple languages, which fulfilled the language needs of all who were on our bus.

We signed up for the ziplining tour and monkeyland tour through our hotel not knowing what our experience would be like. Much to our surprise, even the bus ride to start the day turned out to be a great deal of fun. Robert is a very safe driver (unlike every other driver we rode with while in Punta Cana) and Nacho educated us and entertained us at the same time.
With the number of people at ziplining, we thought it would take a great deal of time waiting in line. This group has organization down to a science.
We came back in after ziplining and we were all thirsty so we got drinks. I wanted another Gatorade and our driver was in the gift shop. The clerk didn’t have enough change for a $20 so Robert made change for me so I could still buy a Gatorade.
While on the cocoa and coffee tour, Nacho made appearances as did Robert. They bagged our souvenirs and took them to the bus so we didn’t have to carry to our next portion of our visit. Nacho’s humor and knowledge as our guide made the experience so memorable even to the point the kids said they were going to chant Nacho... Nacho.... when he got on the bus to take us back to our hotels.
Monkeys were amazing. Just can’t say enough good things about this day. Top notch!

What a fantastic day! My husband and 17 year old son and I are nature driven and this was such a joyful combination of natural environment and adventure! Zip lining was top notch and such stunning views. The only drawback was the long line initially, but once we started Zip lining things went pretty quickly. All guides were well trained and the entire experience was run very safely for all. Monkeyland was pure little kid joy - so fun to be a monkey's jungle gym for a day! The coffee tour was an added bonus, complete with homemade empanadas. We all highly recommend this excursion and felt it was worth every penny🐒

My family and I booked this experience before we got to Punta Cana. As soon as we booked they sent us a confirmation email and even their whatsapp number just in case we had any questions. The week before we arrived in Punta Cana, we asked them to add another member to our booking and they added it quickly and easily. The day of our excursion, we received communication from the company letting us know when they would arrive to pick us up at our resort! Jose Rodriguez was our guide and Nelson was our driver. They were fantastic the whole trip! On the way to the zipline/monkey land experience, Jose, told us the history of the Dominican Republic and told us a little about himself and his family and what life in the Dominican is like. He pointed out things to look at and see on our way there! Nelson drove us in an amazing air-conditioned bus/van and drove very well! During the zipline, all the workers were professional and cheerful and kind. They made you feel at ease if you were nervous! We had a very little 8 year old with us and they helped her so much and had a special harness for her! Even our 9 year old loved it! Between the zipline and monkeyland we got to learn about the cocoa plants, coffee, vanilla and Mama Juana and how they were made! I do recommend bringing $20 if you want to lock up your things. It costs 10 and you get 5 back but each area you go is different so different lockers. The monkey land experience for sure was a 20/10 experience. The guy who gave us food for the monkeys (forgive me for I forgot his name) and Chris (the photographer) were amazing! Captured our whole family and made sure we LOVED the experience! There was 10 of us in our group and this company really accommodated us and made us feel like we were VIP!! Would definitely recommend using them and if I ever come back I'll use them again!

This was by far one of the greatest experiences for our family. I was nervous to bring the kids, 13, 10 and 6, but they loved every minute of it! We all completed all 12 ropes including our 6 year old. We all felt to safe and comfortable. They had someone ride with our youngest for the longer ropes since she didn’t weigh enough. The views were amazing and breathtaking. Learning about the Dominican culture and drinking the coffee and coco and eating homemade empanadas was an added bonus as well. I really wanted the kids to learn about the culture and they did. The monkeys were so cute and we got great pictures, but there is no touching them for your safety. Makes total sense, but it’s more for photos. We did purchase all photos and you can negotiate a little, they took amazing photos, definitely worth it! If you book through hotel water is included. There is a little spot to buy chips and drinks too, but ensure to pack if you have young kids and have a good breakfast. This was a 5/5, the people were absolutely great! Make sure you tip!! They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and enjoy yourself!

Excellent day not to be missed whilst on holiday. Zip wire experience was thrilling, set in beautiful forest location. The upmost safety and instruction is given before starting activity, you’re completely kitted and fitted out with the equipment. The course comprised of different heights and length wires, with instructors at all stages. If it’s too much for you there are a few exit points to leave and return back to base. Towards the end there’s a tall wooden tower which you’ll need to walk up, which can be a bit hard on the legs but well worth the view and the ride across the trees.

After a light lunch an interesting fun presentation was given showing how they make coffee, chocolate and coconut and invited to try and purchase the products (no hard sell).

The last part of day your taken to visit the monkeys. Full instruction was given for your safety and the care of the monkeys before entering the into the inclosure. You get to feed and interact with all the monkeys, it’s brilliant! They will climb and jump all over you which is all part of the fun.

There is a locker hire service, charge $10 but when you return the pad lock $5 is returned. Alternatively there’s big chest to place your bags in for free.

Great day out for all the family, brilliant, well worth the money!

Monkeys are fun and worth to visit. We were there when it was rain. It was an option to buy rain poncho, for 3$. The strange thing is a digital version of photo. You will not get it if you even print a paper copy of one or two photos (10$/each). The only option to get digital version is to buy all photo pack for ~60$ (deducted 0.5 point for this frustrating experience in digital 2021). However you could do your own filming and photo. So my advice is to take own cameras.
Rancho experience was pretty basic. You will taste a coffee, a cacao, mama Juana, but all these activities are very connected to shopping experience. It wasn't showed how cacao looks like, how it prepared and so on. The only traditional thing that was shown is how to drink mama Juana. (deducted 0.5 point for this experience, because in tour operators guides it was described as a rancho experience)
Carlos is a good guide - during our trip, he explained local culture and traditions with jokes and good mood. Speaks several languages (at least). Samuel - nice driver, but our hotel was the last one. This is not his bad, but be prepared for long trip from Lopesan or Barcelo Bavaro hotels.

You start with zip lining. Everyone gets equipped and they explain before heading out. It’s best to wear sneakers because you do have steps & small hills to climb. Expect to be sore after zip lining. You get the best views n go high in the mountains. You can rent a go pro for $35 or get all your pictures for $35 at the end. Totally worth it! Everyone is nice even the drivers. Pick up was on time. Monkey land was great. I was scared af at first because I’m not a fan of animals but they’re so small & the rules are explained beforehand. You can take all the pictures you like & they offer pictures. Would def come back again. I would recommend taking change as though the cashier did not have change to give you for renting the lockers.

This was a pretty good trip overall. There are three sections of the trip: 1) Ziplining 2) chocolate and coffee tasting + lunch 3) monkeys so I will break down the experience in three groups.

1) Ziplining was AMAZING. The guides were awesome, helped young kids and adults to relax and have fun. They did an amazing job.

2) Coffee tasting was good but I wish there was a more structured, lesson type activity about coffee and chocolate production. Instead we got a 30 minute long sales pitch about all the products they wanted to sell. I think they would have done better in sales and also made the visitors happier if they didn't try so hard to sell.

3) Monkeys. This is a mixed experience. The monkeys were so so so awesome to play with and the guides were fun too. BUT, they absolutely insisted on you to pose for photos for 1/2 of the trip and all the photos were them offered for a price. They forced people to stay in particular section of the compound while the photo was taken and got frustrated at people who were taking their own photos. I found this to be absolutely bs and something that needs to be changed.

All in all I think the trip is worth the price, and I would recommend it.

What a fun day! We did the ziplines and monekyland tour. Carlos was our guide and he was GREAT! I will say that I don't think these ziplines are for beginners. There are some very long zip lines (I think one is almost a half mile!) so it can be a bit intimidating if this is your first time out.

The scenery was beautiful, the staff was all very nice and the lines felt safe and secure.

We went to Monkeyland after this and what a blast! As an animal advocate I am always mindful of how they treat the animals and these little monkeys have a very nice home. They were not caged animals in a zoo - they give a safety briefing (which is important as these little guys can get hurt if people are not careful) and the monkeys come down from the trees. They are adorable and this was an amazing experience! All the monkeys appeared to be well fed / cared for. They give you about 30 minutes with the monkeys which is just enough (plus a 15 minute orientation/ 15 minutes to get pictures) so it is about an hour.

Also this excursion is WAY up in the mountains - it is not close to the city which is nice for those looking to get out of the resort area.

This excursion was awesome and so much better than we were even expecting. The zip lining was fun and the scenery was so beautiful. The entire crew that led the zip lining was friendly and fun. There was a bit of slow start (it was a really large group starting at the same time), but once we got going it moved quickly and the people were so nice.

Monkeyland was a hidden gem! The monkeys were the cutest little things. They give you plenty of time with them and the pictures were awesome. They climb right up on you. It's quite the experience.

We also got to try homemade empanadas that were out of this world, coffee and hot chocolate. It was a well run day with very little downtime.

We booked through Nexus and the tour guides on the buses (Sammy and Emelio) were both really knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the rides.
