Had an awesome time, loved learning about the small towns and of course the monkeys! They are gentle & soo adorable ❤️❤️❤️
Loved it!!! Every second! Now I’m going to have to go back to also get more cacao butter!! My skin has never felt so good! The monkeys can even jump from one person to another but they are so gentle and so ridiculously adorable.

    Fun day out!
We went on a day trip here as a couple and it was such a fun day! Well organised aswell. The driver who picked us up also dropped us back at the hotel and was with us the entire trip. We got more than we expected as we’d booked the zip lines (which were incredible with well training and lovely staff) and monkey land. We got to spend about 15 mins with the monkeys feeding them and them climbing all over you which was nice. They’re well looked after and fully vaccinated. I had asked the tour guide about this and they’re more than happy to answer any questions. There was also a tour of how they make cocoa and coffee, aswell as mamajuana which kept things interesting. Our tour guide was ‘sexy papi 6’ but I think his real name was Chris and he was really funny and engaging! They also provided food and drinks which was a nice touch. We loved this trip and was defo worth it

    So much fun!!
We did this excursion and so glad we did!! We got picked up at our hotel. About a 40 minute drive to Monkeyland. We started with the monkeys first. Not too much walking. You’re not allowed to touch the monkeys as they don’t want them to get hurt and bite anyone. They were not aggressive at all. A lot of babies on their mama’s backs! You can take as many pics and videos on your phone as you want but they also have someone taking photos as well. After Monkeyland, we walked to the plantation part of the tour. This was a bit of walking. If you are bringing strollers, you have to carry them up the stairs and there A LOT! It was probably 3-4 flights. But we got to see how coffee was dark chocolate was made and got to sample some yummy drinks!!! Our tour guide was Melvin and he was SENSATIONAL! We got picked up around 1:30pm and didn’t get back til around 7:30pm so be prepared for at least 6 hours!!

Unique, fun, and informative! Must try!
Overall a ton of fun! Having the monkeys jump on you while they are fed was a one if a kind experience that made for some amazing, funny moments. Easy to get pics and vid’s on your phone. Then there was a tour of the coffee/cacao plantation that provided us with a lot of cultural information. Our tour guide was Ruddy and he was a legend. 10/10

    Anniversary trip
Really enjoyed the monkey land experience. Out tour guide was Ruddy and the driver was Jose. The park and demonstrations about coffee and Choclate production were interesting. The only negative we had was the transportation to and from ate into most of the day we left at 130pm and didn't get back to the hotel until almost 9 so it made for a long day in a small bus.

Very rude host and transportation was not good. Everything else was great.
The guide (Jesus) was extremely rude. He went out of his to go out of his way to be rude to the guests. Rolling his eyes and snapping his fingers at them, lord forbid anyone asked him any questions. The bus ride was very hot - no AC, sun beating down on you for an hour and a half (one way). We got sunburnt because we were told by Jesus that we could not wear any sunscreen but had no option to stay out of the sun. The bus is an open enclosure with a canopy that does little good in regard of shade. Everything else was great - the zip lining was fun, monkey land was amazing. All other employees were friendly, it’s a shame we had one that ruined what would have otherwise been a very good experience.

    Fun Family Excursion
Aris and Chris were great. Chris educated us on the treatment of the monkeys. Aris guided us through the area where the monkeys played. They’re so cute. A lot of walking, but definitely worth it. Prior to Monkey Land, we learned about the different processes of cacao, coconut and coffee. The history was great to hear about. Also, received the history of Mama Juana ( not sure of the spelling)….. but I bought for bottles…. Had a great time…

Obnoxious Guests - No Rule Enforcement - Harm to Animals
Normally I would not leave a bad review based on the behavior of other guests. However, we took a bus ride that was over an hour and there was a group on the bus being so rude and obnoxious to the guide. They were bragging about how drunk they were (should have been removed due to this) and one started complaining about ‘having to p*ss’ so bad’ that they made the bus driver find a place to relieve themselves. He ended up driving so fast through a small town of huts and we stopped at a random hut so she could go inside to use the restroom. Not sure why her need to urinate was more important than the rest of our lives. Once we got to monkeyland, everything took a long time because this group was uncontrollable. As soon as a monkey got to them, one of the women threw it to the ground and the rest of the women started saying they were going to have a panic attack and they were all over the place. They wouldn’t listen to the instructions or stand where they were asked. It completely took away from the experience. They should have been removed. This ruined the experience for everyone else. As I looked around I could see eye rolling and hear people talking about how ridiculous this group was. When it came time for photos, everyone else got maybe 10sec with the photographer; not this group. They demanded a full on photo shoot. My suggestion would be to establish rules around the safety and comfort of the animals and guests and if those rules are not followed, you forfeit your spot.

    a bit drawn out.
Collected on time ,got an email the previous day with pick up time when vehicle arrived my name was on the list but was sent back to my room because i did not have the reference number on me,which was annoying because our room was furthest from reception, the vehicle was an open back truck with rock hard seats very uncomfortable indeed, not the friendliest of tour guides but he gave us lots of information on the way, once we arrived at the park,we did a fair bit of waiting for other groups, then did the coffee and cocoa bit then to another area where they sell the island products, then to the gift shop, eventually to the monkeys, that was amazing but that only takes about 30 mins, but we did get some great photo's and even purchased a photo for $10.00 alot for one photo but it was a good one, then back into the dreaded truck for the return trip,As i say it was a nice trip but a bit drawn out. (we are both in our late 60's)

The tour company decided to come and leave our resort earlier than expected and agreed. Called to check on us, but left anyway. Lied about how long driver waited. We’ve toured all over the world and never had this experience. No refund. No service. Next time I will reserve a private tour or arrange excursion through our resort to avoid this problem. We have a large group returning for a celebration and have close family with travel agency geared toward girls trips and family reunions. I was scouting tour companies during this event for both purposes and will promptly discard this company.

Little but rough ride but we expected that , the tour guide SANTIAGO was very good , informative with a little humor. The place we had lunch at Maria's, was fantastic Dominican lunch 😋
We would recommend this tour to anyone!
Also booked through our hotel even though may be more then tours offered on the beach but it is worth it

Amazing tour full of information and sights of the country and people of the Dominican Republic. Our tour guide Angel was very interesting to speak with. Lots of knowledge about information of the people and country. We fell very comfortable with Angel and spoke amazing clear English. His personal life story was so interesting to hear and when asked where I was from he was familiar with Canada Newfoundland slang. When we return to the Dominican we will do this tour again or similar and request Angel as the guide. The driver Robert provide a safe comfortable ride and was friendly and helpful when stopped at sites. They constantly supply cold bottles of ice water. This is a must do tour and make sure to ask for Angel for the true Dominican Republic experience of history, country and people

We booked this tour hoping to learn more about how the locals live, farm, eat etc. Angel did a wonderful job! He was patient with all our questions and enthusiastic about the tour. It was obvious he enjoyed what he does and that made the tour even more enjoyable for us. He also had a wide range of knowledge he shared with us and it was very nice to hear the love he has for this beautiful country! Very good job Angel! You are an awesome tour guide and Nathan was an excellent driver on those curvy hilly roads. Thankyou!
Also the meal was delicious too!

We really enjoyed our trip with Melo and Emilio. Yes, it may not all be completely authentic and exactly as the description of the trip but it is nice to get out of the resort area to see the urban city of Higuey and the more rural setting owned by the Runners group. We did learn a lot about the culture, the education system and how the locals live. We did see a man roll a cigar, and yes, there was a shop to purchase alcohol and cigars for cheaper than the hotel prices. You will get a free cigar to light, a sample of pineapple wine, Mamajuana and rum by the river. They will also give you bottled water. The vehicle is rough and there is no distancing or mandatory mask-wearing, if you are concerned about covid protocols. The cathedral in Higuay is amazing. The lunch at Maria's was 2 types of chicken, rice and macaroni salad. She serves pineapple and starfruit from her trees in the garden. You also sample fresh tea and hot cacao. You can purchase many natural cosmetic products here as well. You may want to take bug spray on this trip. We really loved our tour!

This by far was my favorite excursion while in the DR. The tour took us into the mountains where we can to see the Dominican country side. Our tour guides Darius and others provided us with the history of the country and the people. It was very informative. And as you traveled through the small villages and towns you got the true sense of how people lived and what it is to be Dominican. The sights like the Basilica were breath taking and its history. Watching cigars being made right in front of you and actually getting to smoke one was a real treat for me. Learning about the history of the sugar industry and enjoying sugar cane brought back childhood memories for me. And finally topping off the tour with an authentic Dominican lunch, had me going back for seconds, absolutely delicious. All in all the tour lasted about 6 hours. This is one I would highly recommend to take so you can get the real feel of the DR. Thanks for the amazing journey Darius!!

This excursion was the highlight of our trip. Our guide Manuel (Manny blah blah blah) and driver Hulbani were entertaining, knowledgeable, and helpful. The local family house they bring you to is obviously staged, but still gives the feel/idea of how a local countryside family may live. Lunch was delicious and even the pickier eaters in our group enjoyed it.

While the trip/tour was informative and Manny "Bla bla bla bal" (yes that's what he wanted us to call him) was very educated, but he repeated himself a lot. He did his best to make the time between location enjoyable The trip is listed as going to Macao Beach which it did not, this was a big disappointment as we wanted our daughter to see this very beautiful beach. The tour of Mary's place was super informative and the food was good. We have taken better "countryside" tours in the past, but COVID-19 could have closed these down. Over all it was a solid day.

The tour guide, Emilio was absolutely amazing, he shared so much information about the culture and customs in the Dominican, really gave you the opportunity to learn. The meal at Maria's house was fabulous! The tours in the sugar cane, coca, coffee and cigar making areas were really neat. Freddy, our driver was awesome too, kept us hydrated and was kind and prompt. The only complaint I have is that the safari truck was very full so you are in very close proximity with many people.

Definitely a fun day! Our guide Mimi and driver Rafael did a great job at making us discovering the countryside beyond the limits of our resort! Great sceneries! We appreciated the stops to take pictures.

Interesting visit of the Basilica Nuestra signora de la Altagracia in Higuey.

We really enjoyed visiting the plantation, where Mimi spent time showing us around: coffee plants, cacao fruits, etc... Although it is more a showcase than a real working plantation, it was educational and entertaining! The lunch provided, with Dominican specialties, was very good!

Horseback riding was our next stop... This was the least interesting part of the day, since a 15-minute ride in a field is not worth it. We skipped this activity.

The Macao beach is really beautiful! Too bad we did not have much time to enjoy it fully! Too bad also that the construction of a new resort is messing up the access to the beach.
