- gaym9700Must do in Punta Cana. No time wasted at all.No time wasted on this trip. Stopped at a plantation and watched presentation of cacao, how coffee is made and free samples of course. They are selling local products but they are not pushy for you to buy them. Experience with the monkeys was excellent, had plenty of time to interact with them. We waited for them to come to us when the trainers were putting food on a plate we were holding. Lots of monkeys to see. I think this is not good for kids younger than 5 as they are easily freaked out. Not a trip for those with peanut allergy. This trip should not be missed. No complaints from pick up to drop off (7:55-1230). Then you have time to parasail in the afternoon…..
- Suzy D00Cute monkeysThis was an awesome experience. The monkeys are really cute, our driver manuel was nice enough to help out guide gary passing drinks to everyone. Make sure to dress up comfortably cuz it’s gonna be a hike to the area :)
- SPD62200Monkey interaction was funWe went as a family, the pickup from hotel was fine and then we made three other stops. Then a 40 minute drive so this kind of sucks when you do the early tour, it couldn’t imagine being there in the heat of day. Our staff was great the entire time. The monkey adventure was fun as they give you a small bowl with some food in it for Them to climb all over you. You have about 45 minutes with the monkeys, then it got a little slow. As the new group arrived at reception center, we were trying to buy photos and there was confusion as to where to go. The. We waited in the heat too long to go to coconut house which was good culture but the teens were ready to go to resort. So we walked back to bus area and our driver and host weren’t out looking for us. All the other guests were getting into their buses and we were there in the direct sun sweating looking for our bus. After some confusion, the told us our bus number and it turned out our guide was sitting in the AC bud instead of our trying to find us and let us in.
- Alicia Dawn W00Awesome Experience!!!!Had an AMAZING time! Loved all the monkeys!!!! Our guide, Angel, was great!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
- jvcroe00Kids’ expressions were pricelessThe kids’ interaction and enthusiasm with the monkeys. Oh and the beautiful views. Great for young and old.
- Terry C00Cushing,Williams and white holiday excursionExcellent tour of the plantations and local villages seeing real life in this area. The Monkey land tour was really great with Aris so good with the facts and fun.
- Kyle C00Must do while in punta canaThis whole entire excursion is so worth the money. Best part about it for me was the monkey’s. Our tour guide eddy was amazing!!!
- laelaw202300Great time!My family and I went on the zip lining and Monkeyland excursion on our recent visit to the Dominican Republic. We were picked up at our resort by our awesome guide Young Boy. He was fantastic and we were lucky to have him lead us throughout the day. We did zip lining first. It is a beautiful area and the people working there are very knowledgeable and helpful. I will say that I had never been zip lining before—it was exhausting. Just be prepared for a bit of a workout if you go. Fun but tiring in the heat. The other part of our day was spent at Monkeyland. Honestly this was the highlight of our entire trip. They take you into where the monkeys live and go down the line giving people food. The monkeys want a snack so they follow the food and climb on you to get it. Utterly fantastic. You can bring your phone into take video and photos whil in there, but we chose to enjoy the moment and just buy the photos they take of you. They are a bit expensive but worth it in my opinion. It was just a great and memorable day.
- barbaragM9826BD00Lifelong Dream FulfilledI have loved monkeys all my (long!) life and when I learned about Monkeyland a few years ago, I knew had to go! The trip exceeded my very wild expectations in every way: organized tour package, knowledgeable guides (Gary and Francisco plus the two gentleman whose names I cannot remember but who did a fabulous job on the afternoon of August 2, 2023!), and adorable squirrel monkeys on my head! I was in heaven.
- J6350HAkimc00Monkeys, coffee and cocoa in DR!The trip was amazing and informative! Not only was it fun to interact with the monkeys, we learned so much about the Dominican and its culture. Our driver was excellent! Very smooth ride and comfortable bus in air conditioning. Our guide Eddie also did an excellent job! So friendly and knowledgeable! Loved it and laughed a lot! Was also nice to buy some of the local fare!
- nickir58800Wonderful PeopleOur tour guide Angel was knowledgeable about DR history and equally entertaining. The Monkeyland experience itself felt a little rushed but overall it was very enjoyable. The guys were nice and took great pictures of you interacting with the monkeys. We went to the casita where they produce coffee and chocolate and show you how they make it from scratch. The people running the casita are very welcoming. I loved learning about all the different ways they use the cacao fruit and coffee beans. They had products for sale after getting to taste the hot chocolate, coffee and mamajuana. I bought the cacao butter and I'm upset that I didn't buy a bigger tub because that stuff is amazing!!!! I loved the entire experience!
- X9320PZmichelleo00zip line and monkelandHendry our guide was very kind and informative, Brian our driver is easily the best driver ever 😉 AC bus It's not a private tour, so we did pick up other people along the way. they did their best to not have us wait too long so they had other shuttles picking up people at the same time and we met at a gas station where everyone hopped onto our bus. We drove through a village on the way up, the scenery at the top is BEAUTIFUL. Zip lining was super fun, I've done it many times before, the hand braking with our gloves was a bit awkward, my gloves were big and it had a wood piece on the palm of my dominant hand, a few times i didnt make it to the end and have to pull myself to the "life line". 🤣 be prepared to work out 🤣 Afterwards we had a simple lunch and coffee, chocolate, mamajuana demonstrations. Then if was off to monkeland! They are sooooo cute! You're given a dish with fruits and veggies and they just jump all over you. A lot of the females had babies on them. We were allowed to take as many photos and videos as we wanted with our phones and they also had pictures to buy at the end. Great tour!
- brettk85600Hurry up and waitThe activities were good but the long lines and extensive waiting around was very annoying. Way too many people all at once instead of spacing the tour out. If planned better this tour would be done in half the time. I’ve done many zip line tours and never experienced this. So much waiting it ruined the positivity of the experience.
- Andrew C00Our visit to monkey land!We had a great time and experience with our tour guide Aris. He was very funny and you can tell he enjoyed his job! The tour through the cocoa house and coffee tasting was amazing! It was a great insight to the Dominican culture.
- markfQ6359AU00Had a great timeIt was lot of fun. A bit of a drive to get there from our Punta Cana hotel, but you get to see how some of locals live during the drive. Plus our tour guide, Sammy was entertaining and kept the jokes coming for the duration of the trip. The squirrel monkeys did not disappoint. They jumped on our heads, backs, arms and we had plenty of time to take our own pictures. The plantation tour was ok. It was informative about the making of coffee and cocoa, and you got to sample drinks. I would definitely recommend doing this if you get the chance.

The tour company decided to come and leave our resort earlier than expected and agreed. Called to check on us, but left anyway. Lied about how long driver waited. We’ve toured all over the world and never had this experience. No refund. No service. Next time I will reserve a private tour or arrange excursion through our resort to avoid this problem. We have a large group returning for a celebration and have close family with travel agency geared toward girls trips and family reunions. I was scouting tour companies during this event for both purposes and will promptly discard this company.

Little but rough ride but we expected that , the tour guide SANTIAGO was very good , informative with a little humor. The place we had lunch at Maria's, was fantastic Dominican lunch 😋
We would recommend this tour to anyone!
Also booked through our hotel even though may be more then tours offered on the beach but it is worth it

Amazing tour full of information and sights of the country and people of the Dominican Republic. Our tour guide Angel was very interesting to speak with. Lots of knowledge about information of the people and country. We fell very comfortable with Angel and spoke amazing clear English. His personal life story was so interesting to hear and when asked where I was from he was familiar with Canada Newfoundland slang. When we return to the Dominican we will do this tour again or similar and request Angel as the guide. The driver Robert provide a safe comfortable ride and was friendly and helpful when stopped at sites. They constantly supply cold bottles of ice water. This is a must do tour and make sure to ask for Angel for the true Dominican Republic experience of history, country and people

We booked this tour hoping to learn more about how the locals live, farm, eat etc. Angel did a wonderful job! He was patient with all our questions and enthusiastic about the tour. It was obvious he enjoyed what he does and that made the tour even more enjoyable for us. He also had a wide range of knowledge he shared with us and it was very nice to hear the love he has for this beautiful country! Very good job Angel! You are an awesome tour guide and Nathan was an excellent driver on those curvy hilly roads. Thankyou!
Also the meal was delicious too!

We really enjoyed our trip with Melo and Emilio. Yes, it may not all be completely authentic and exactly as the description of the trip but it is nice to get out of the resort area to see the urban city of Higuey and the more rural setting owned by the Runners group. We did learn a lot about the culture, the education system and how the locals live. We did see a man roll a cigar, and yes, there was a shop to purchase alcohol and cigars for cheaper than the hotel prices. You will get a free cigar to light, a sample of pineapple wine, Mamajuana and rum by the river. They will also give you bottled water. The vehicle is rough and there is no distancing or mandatory mask-wearing, if you are concerned about covid protocols. The cathedral in Higuay is amazing. The lunch at Maria's was 2 types of chicken, rice and macaroni salad. She serves pineapple and starfruit from her trees in the garden. You also sample fresh tea and hot cacao. You can purchase many natural cosmetic products here as well. You may want to take bug spray on this trip. We really loved our tour!

This by far was my favorite excursion while in the DR. The tour took us into the mountains where we can to see the Dominican country side. Our tour guides Darius and others provided us with the history of the country and the people. It was very informative. And as you traveled through the small villages and towns you got the true sense of how people lived and what it is to be Dominican. The sights like the Basilica were breath taking and its history. Watching cigars being made right in front of you and actually getting to smoke one was a real treat for me. Learning about the history of the sugar industry and enjoying sugar cane brought back childhood memories for me. And finally topping off the tour with an authentic Dominican lunch, had me going back for seconds, absolutely delicious. All in all the tour lasted about 6 hours. This is one I would highly recommend to take so you can get the real feel of the DR. Thanks for the amazing journey Darius!!

While the trip/tour was informative and Manny "Bla bla bla bal" (yes that's what he wanted us to call him) was very educated, but he repeated himself a lot. He did his best to make the time between location enjoyable The trip is listed as going to Macao Beach which it did not, this was a big disappointment as we wanted our daughter to see this very beautiful beach. The tour of Mary's place was super informative and the food was good. We have taken better "countryside" tours in the past, but COVID-19 could have closed these down. Over all it was a solid day.

The tour guide, Emilio was absolutely amazing, he shared so much information about the culture and customs in the Dominican, really gave you the opportunity to learn. The meal at Maria's house was fabulous! The tours in the sugar cane, coca, coffee and cigar making areas were really neat. Freddy, our driver was awesome too, kept us hydrated and was kind and prompt. The only complaint I have is that the safari truck was very full so you are in very close proximity with many people.

Definitely a fun day! Our guide Mimi and driver Rafael did a great job at making us discovering the countryside beyond the limits of our resort! Great sceneries! We appreciated the stops to take pictures.
Interesting visit of the Basilica Nuestra signora de la Altagracia in Higuey.
We really enjoyed visiting the plantation, where Mimi spent time showing us around: coffee plants, cacao fruits, etc... Although it is more a showcase than a real working plantation, it was educational and entertaining! The lunch provided, with Dominican specialties, was very good!
Horseback riding was our next stop... This was the least interesting part of the day, since a 15-minute ride in a field is not worth it. We skipped this activity.
The Macao beach is really beautiful! Too bad we did not have much time to enjoy it fully! Too bad also that the construction of a new resort is messing up the access to the beach.
