About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Carrington P0 contributionsAmazing experience. This experience was great. My entire group was amazing and tour guide Josias worked so hard to make sure we have a blast. He deserves a raise how hard he worked! The only thing that I didn’t like was how far the walk was from the port to the meet.Written September 22, 2024
- Anthony S0 contributions10/10 must have family experienceSuch an amazing experience with knowledgeable staff. They took the guess work out of this experience and made it amazing. For my daughter in law, she was fearful of going in the water but after Franklyn’s explanation we were able to convince her to get in. She does not regret it! :) they provided transportation to and from our air bnb and provided beach umbrellas and chairs for us to linger on the beach after we were done. Food was top notch and the staff were so accommodating! 10/10 definitely recommend.Written August 27, 2024
- C8810JPtoddl0 contributionsGreat Experience on our ExcursionJoined the Catamaran Party Cruise while on a cruise ship stop in Puerto Plata. They picked us up from the port as promised and drove us to the boat. The snorkeling was just ok, a smaller reef. It was a solid 30 minute drive to the boat from the cruise ship port. However, the overall experience was a blast. All of the tour guides were a lot of fun and very helpful. The BBQ lunch was amazing. In addition to snorkeling the boat has a diving board and slide that everyone enjoyed. Highly recommend.Written July 28, 2024
- Passport260940845380 contributionsAmazing tour and guidesThis was an amazing tour. Since booking, it has been amazing. As soon as we booked, Lotta was very communicative. The day that we arrived at the port, Richard was already waiting for us. We were a party over eight so the minivan was just for us then when we got to the tour location, there were two guides ready to take us out. The guides were amazing and funny. They took tons of pics underwater which was a great perk. To make it more amazing was that they knew it was my birthday and they surprised us at the beach with an authentic Dominican cake. Highly recommended tour.Written July 28, 2024
- 23melanieb0 contributionsGreat outdoor experienceBooked this excursion outside of the cruise line. Directions very clear on where and when to meet. Guides were organized and on time. We had 3 kids ages 7,13, and 14 with only 2 adult so the staff was able to take our third child in the buggy with them. We were very grateful for this! The tour was a total of 2 hours on the buggy. We had a stop at a small gift shop and tried some Dominican coffee, chocolate, and mamajuana. We then headed to a small beach area. The tour was very fun and muddy! You will get very dirty and soaking wet so be prepared. Lots of fun and would do again!Written July 17, 2024
- M3053UQjorgec0 contributionsFind another excursionDO NOT BOOK. Def not worth the price… u mainly drive on either the main rd thru a neighborhood or on the side of the main road in a trash filled ditch… u go thru 1 “mud “ experience.. but it’s really more trash then anything.. and the beach isn’t anything special. The trip was 90mins in total and that’s with 30 mins at the beach to eat.Written July 13, 2024
- Helen A0 contributionsReally yucky. Some fun parts.I definitely wouldn’t have gone in this excursion if I understood what it was really like. You are not doing a dune buggy in the jungle you are driving through the literally street water of Puerto Plata. There are some more rural areas that you drive through as well but then you’re at risk for getting cow poo flying in your face as you’re driving through the mud. It’s more unsanitary and disgusting than like fun dirty mud. There is one part where you drive through a pond and where you go to the beach and can get some local food. I will say this is probably the best part of it.Written July 7, 2024
- Nandoheidi0 contributionsdirty but funWe had a great time. The crew were very friendly and treated us well. I would recommend to anyone that loves adventure. You will get dirty and covered in mud so dress accordingly.Written July 2, 2024
- Nav1go0 contributionsCruise excursionNot good snorkeling. First spot was basically 2 rocks about 12 feet down and they were feeding the fish white bread to attract them. The second was back in Sosua bay and in 20+ feet of water. This has more fans but hard to see given depth. They kept us tight knot and the flailers and kickers abounded. I will give them credit that they actually sailed most the way back which was preferable to the 1 hr bus ride to start the trip.Written June 2, 2024
- christophercK6476PV0 contributionsFinding Nemo was a successFun, fun, fun! The water was spectacular. All of the different marine life made this experience exactly what my family was looking for. Staff made sure everyone had a phenomenal time. They played great music for adults (could skip some songs that used bad language), overall the Catamaran was clean and the food was good. Tony was a great host….Written May 29, 2024
- Passport465109379830 contributionsWelcome to the MUD Parade!! FUN!!!Fantastic!! Frank and Victor were absolutely the best!! Great ride, lots of mud and mud and mud !! But a strategic beach stop to wash off before the next mud parade! Bring goggles, wear old clothes, water shoes and gators! Best day, cant wait til Spring 2025 to do it again!Written May 21, 2024
- T8924PTrobinm0 contributionsDirty Fun for Everyone!!Amazing fun! I am a 60-year-old Grammy and my kids were shocked that I enjoyed this excursion so much. Haha! We got SO muddy!!! Once that first wave of mud hits you, you feel like you're already messy so just sit back and enjoy letting go. My husband enjoyed speeding through the mud and being a badass! I can't say enough about how wonderfully caring the tour staff were. Everyone was so helpful and nice! Like one of the other commenters, I did not see lockers and was going to suggest that future tourists bring a trash bag to cover your belongings because ours got super-nasty. But then I saw the lockers when we returned. They were behind the desk where you get signed up. The trash bag could still be a good item to bring. Wear a mask or balaclava to keep the mud out of your mouth. The stop for souvenirs and tastings was really fun and I was happy to patronize some local families. And the beach was a wonderful respite from the craziness of the adventure. 100% FUN!!! Do it!!Written May 17, 2024
- Safari170219229780 contributionsPuerto plata buggy ride.My wife and I loved this off road experience. We never do stuff like this on holiday and we're glad we did. That being said, you WILL get very wet and very dirty...there's also very little in the way of padding in the buggies, so you will feel every bump on the road...and there are many. I highly recommend wearing a bandana and pool/sea shoes as your feet get wet too. Also, wear clothes that you're happy to throw away afterwards, or you can wash out very quickly after the trip. Heads up! As well as driving through the beautiful DR countryside, you also drive through small villages and have to cross main roads. The jewellery sellers at the beach stop can be a nuisance, but just be firm and you'll make it off the beach without emptying your wallet. I'd highly recommend this trip.Written May 14, 2024
- lakeerahs0 contributionsI loved itThe food was good, the atmosphere was awesome! The tour guides was so cool. You must do this! I can’t swim and they helped me in the water and made me feel very comfortableWritten May 14, 2024

Price 178$ and what we got? Cayo arena was full of tourist and it wasn’t ”paradise island” how it was sold us. Stop at local restaurant was terrible too, because none of the toilets didn’t flush. You were able to wash your hands but there was only one dirty towel to dry hands. We were also ”a bit” disappointed about the food. Flies were having own party on foods. (See photo) Most of time we were sitting in a bus and that was the best part of the day. Thank you for the bus driver. We paid 89$ per person and sad to say it was really not worthy.
When we gave this feedback to Eric tours. They didnt compensate anything. At least said sorry.

Thank you for your feedback. We are in the middle of the high season and you went after we have not been able to go out for 6 days because of high waves so I believe it was very crowded because of this. Every day is different and also depends on the season. Regarding the water, there is not always street water coming in, but there should have been tanks with water to be able to flush any way. I have been in contact with the restaurant regarding this issue.

Negatives - much too much driving! We were picked up at Cabarete, the drive was FOUR HOURS to the speedboat via small van, then large bus because of so many pick ups en route. Misleading when we were told it would be two hours there and back. The sand bar is lovely but many boats and people, so not at all as pictured. This was a 13 hour excursion (p/u 7am, drop off at 7:30pm !!) because of all the driving, with just 2 hours in the water at the sandbar. Positives - our multilingual guide on the bus was excellent, so knowledgeable! The boat was fun (but bumpy), and the snorkeling is good, plenty of things to see! I’d only recommend if you are staying close to Cayo Arena - not from east of Puerto Plata because of the distance.

Great excursion! Papo was an excellent guide and Luis was a great driver. The bus ride is long (2 hours) but Papo shared some information about the area along the way. The tiny island gets crowded but the snorkeling was great! The mangroves were really amazing to see! Our boat driver was great too. Lunch was very yummy and the kids swam while we waited for lunch. Great hospitality and a fun day for all.

Thank you for your kind words. We really appreciate your feedback. It is a long ride, but it is the best place for snorkeling on the north coast and beautiful nature.

The island and snorkelling was beautiful. They kept drinks flowing and the lunch afterwards was delicious and had a great view. Only downside I found was that a tour of a cigar factory was tacked onto the end of an already very long day. But if you’re okay with that I’d highly recommend.

This was hands down the best excursion ever! Our crew was great! The bus ride to get there was 2 hours - but worth the wait! The "island" is actually a sand bar surrounded by a reef that you can snorkel over. Clear waters and lots of life to see. Don't think you will have it to yourself - there was about 250 people there all at once - 3 big boats each holding 50 people and about 10 or more speedboats each holding about 12 or so... but still very cool!

The island and snorkeling were fun and the lunch was good. Drinks VERY good!! Our driver was very fun. Be prepared for a 3 hour bus ride one way of coming from Sosua area. Recommend the standard tickets as the VIP in only a lobster for lunch in addition to the Dominican lunch. Great people great fun and you meet all kinds of folks while at the island.

Wow, Wow, and Wow. An absolute awesome excursion. Is definitely one of my best excursions I have ever experienced. Mu was an excellent host. From the front door pickup to hosting the entire trip. This company shows how excursions should be conducted. Thank you very much for this lifetime experience.
