It was a Premium one on one intimate encounter with all the squirrel monkeys learning about them and feeding them and taking pics … definitely one of the best I’ve been apart of I would recommend 10/10 and I wanna go back again! We were told that the travel time to Puerto Plata City was 2 hours each way. It took 4 hours to get there 3 hours on tour including lunch and 1/2 hour to look around city on our own and 3.5 hours to return. The guide was amazing this was at the cost of US$175.00 each. We were promised a refund of 20% which was never issued even though requested several times. Never using TUI for tours again

We had a fantastic start as we were warmly welcomed by Dan Marino, our guide, in such a friendly atmosphere as if we have known each other for ages. The guide and tour was extremely informative and entertaining. We were introduced to local culture, history and country industries: rum factory, amber museum, chocolate factory, fortress and a city market. Awesome ride in a cable car to the top of the mountain with stunning view of the city and the ocean made an unforgettable impression!
Dan is such a warm personality and a highly motivated guide (recommended!).
The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like at home to all of us. All respect for Dan who does a great job!

Was an entertaining and enjoyable trip dan Marino was our guide his history of events and items we asked about very informative our driver bomba wow!! Never seen a bus go that smoothly given the obstacle course that is Puerto plata. The only negative thing I can say is by the time we got to the cable car up the mountain the 1hr plus wait was not great. But I understand it has nothing to do with the tour company was just bad timing.

This was one of the best tours we have had. Puerto Plata is beautiful and very interesting. We had enough time to visit each location and explore. Julian our tour guide gave us lots on information about the city. He was funny and charming. We saw tour guides on other tour companies leaving their people alone during the visits but our tour guide Julian was always with us, checking on us, making sure we were ok. Manuel our driver was really nice and careful while driving. The food was good and flavorful. My only disappointment was that we only visit one place were we could shop and it was overprice. We visited other shops later on our stay in Puerto Plata and the prices were a lot more reasonable and affordable. Overall a great tour, one of the best ones so far.

Our tour guide, Saturnino, was very fun and humorous, and our driver, Ray Moudo, was very skilled and efficient. They arrived at our resort right on time, if not a few minutes early. Saturnino was very knowledgeable and we got lots of commentary about all the sights as we past them. We didn't end up going to the Amber Museum, but I didn't even notice because of all the other things we did that day. A traditional Dominican meal of chicken, rice and beans, and cold salads was included with the tour, and let me tell you, it was absolutely fantastic! I would absolutely recommend this to any first timers to the Dominican.

Rushed threw the flags area and only one shop to shop in was high priced. Food for lunch was very bland and dry and not a restaurant but a place set up just for this . Restaurant at top of tram area tried to charge us a dollar apiece to use their bathroom- -we refused

Dear Traveler, Thank you very much for your review of your recent experience with us. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every visit. We are very surprised at your comments as we have investigated and no other guests have complained about the prices in the stores as they have cost control compliance. We have not received any more complaints about the food served that day, we have a varied menu and at the end of lunch our clients are offered coffee, chocolate and coconut candy.
Regarding the use of the restrooms, the restaurant is private for our customers so it is impossible that they have tried to charge for their use, the only restrooms that charge are those that are in public areas of the city and our guides always advice customers about the restrooms at the time of the tour.
We genuinely appreciate your feedback, and we hope to have the chance to provide you with a more enjoyable and memorable experience in the future.

In what has been a disaster of a vacation so far, these guys saved our entire stay. Our tour guide Julio Peralta and our driver Roberto went above and beyond to keep our group of 24 fully engaged and entertained. They immediately became part of our family. They were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our every whim. With the extreme heat they provided cold water for the entire day. While some would think that listening to 8 hours of history could be boring, they made it fully entertaining. Not only would I recommend Runners , but I would highly recommend that you specifically ask for Julio and Roberto.

This was a great tour, with some fantastic guides. Delmis (guide) and Roberto (driver) were great. It was very informative, and a pleasure to walk around some of the areas of the city while tasting cigars and seeing the sights and local people.
The rum factory was cool as you get to taste 7 different varieties of rum (I hope you're prepared to do this early in the AM, lol). If you are a chocolate fan, you will not be disappointed by the chocolate factory either.
The lunch provided was every bit as good if not better than what was provided at the resort buffet.
I'm closing, if you are interested in getting off the resort for the day and learning about the local people, culture, and industries, this is a great option.

I had an amazing experience during the activity. The activity included many different things to do. Our guide Sarterino was very knowledgeable and respectful Roberto our driver was very professional. I would highly recommend this activity when you want to do many things in one.

Julio and Fabio took myself, my wife, and my three friends on this adventure. We all had a fantastic time and learned alot! Would highly recommend this trip. The tours of the rum factory, chocolate factory, and amber museum were awesome, and the tour of the shops and short walk around the city, including the stop at the beautiful church, umbrella street, and Pink street were so much fun. Throw in the cable car ride and amazing scenic views from the mountain and this trip cant be beat! Oh, almost forgot, the home cooked meal was absolutely delicious! Thank you Julio and Fabio (and the cooks!) for an amazing day!

I wouldn't. You have to get on and off the minibus many times, there are a lot of steps and some of the venues are smallish. Depending on the number of tourists, there might not be enough room on the bus for your child. I think it's more of an adult type tour.

2. How long will the travel time be from our hotel to first stop if you have to pick people up at other hotels?

We only had 8 people on our tour. I believe we went to one other hotel. We stayed at the Sunscape and we were very close to Puerto Plata.
We had less than a 15 minute drive.
They scheduled our trip on a Friday because they said cruise ships were coming in on Monday and Tuesday and the town might be busy.
