    Enjoy the historic center of Puerto Plata and learn about the Victorian Era and restoration period.

    Stop At: Fort San Felipe, Puerto Plata Dominican Republic

    Learn about Puerto Plata's pirate past at the city's oldest surviving structure.

    Stop At: Malecon Puerto Plata, Malecon, Puerto Plata 57000 Dominican Republic

    Drive along the Atlantic coast boardwalk and enjoy photo opportunities of the Neptune statue.

    Our Welcome Team will be waiting for you outside the Port of Amber Cove, on the sidewalk, next to the highway.

    You will:

    1) walk from the ship along the pier

    2) cross the plaza to the Duty-Free Shop

    3) go through Duty Free

    4) go past the tour buses (on your right)

    5) go past the taxis (on your left)

    6) go past the vendors trying for last-minute sales

    7) cross the small “road” to the sidewalk (still inside the cruise center)

    8) walk down the side walk (still inside the cruise center)

    9) go past the small, pink, hut (on your left)

    10) go past the small, security hut (on your right)

    11) exit the large, white main gates (completely leave the cruise center – you will see the highway in front of you)

    12) go to the sidewalk to your left (located about 50-yards from the main gate)

    13) you might not see us right away but we will be on the sidewalk!

    Return Details
    Return is just outside the main gate.  Those who have walking difficulty may opt to take a taxi to and from the meet/return location.  The posted taxi rates are for 1-5 persons.

    This was one of the best cable car rides I've ever been on. It goes to the mountaintop and there is the statue of Christ there like in south America but smaller. Great trip. Try the Amber Museum.

    Well worth it. Don't go in morning too crowded. Go about 200 less people less wait. It is quite gorgeous and the ride up the mountain is exciting.

    We did not experience any wind problems. We were there in January. It was a wonderful experience. Had great guides. When you get to the top. The building is run on generators. Typical tourist hecklers. Just ignore them... More

    We were offered free rum punch and bottled local beer. You could have more if you wanted, but you would need to ask. There were no other alcoholic beverage choices.
