- 1One of the most amazing places in our City of Santo Domingo is the 3 eyes Caves National Park. Discover with me the nature of the beautiful micro rainforest, admire at the best hour of the day the Sulfur Lake, The Refrigerator lake, The Lady's lake, the history of the aboriginal people that once used the caves, take a ride in the man pulled raft to discover the hidden 4th lake or Zamaragullon lake. Deeply know the whole cave system in a fun and educational way, slow pace no rush.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- jalicias20250 contributionsMust do when in Santo DomingoAmazing time with Francis! I learned a lot about the D.R. History and culture! Saw amazing things and tried things that I normally would not have tried. This is a must do when coming to Santo Domingo!Written March 15, 2025
- cindyjhnsn860 contributionsThird visit to Santo DomingoWe're a group of medical professionals who travel to the DR annually to do humanitarian work. If you have spent any time traveling in the DR (outside of a beach resort) will likely have experienced all of the foods in the tour. Rice, fried chicken, beans, macaroni salad, and bottled water. Presidente beer is ubiquitous, as are the mangoes we had at the fruit stand. Our guide was very pleasant and friendly but at $60 per person we felt it was overpriced for a 3 hour walking tour. We have had better tours (on bicycles, without food) in colonial area for half the price.Written May 4, 2024
- Ayana T0 contributionsNeeded this! What a tour! It was awesome. I love traveling that allows me to see more local culture and less American-centered culture. I don’t love tours that cater to American tastes. This wasn’t that! We tried a nice handful of little bites from “in the cut” places that we hadn’t tried before. We visited Chinatown, Little Haiti, zona colonial, and outside the city. I would’ve loved if the tour was a little longer actually! Woulda loved to try a few more things. But overall it was a good time. Even though he clarified that it’s not a history tour, he gave us great history facts. We had done a history tour already so his little tidbits were perfect fillers to what we had already learned. We were with Francis and he was just super nice and was able to answer all our questions. Would recommend!Written March 2, 2024
- cristlaro0 contributionsGreat Sto. Domingo walking tour.Excellent tour. We learned a lot about Santo Domingo and Dominican culture. In our group, there were people that only spoke Spanish and others only in English. Our tour guide did a great job going between both languages.Written November 29, 2023
- rosieox0 contributionsWent places we wouldn't have gone on our own.Our guide took us many places we wouldn't have gone on our own, and the food was wonderful. Little light on the history but all in all a very nice tour.Written November 28, 2023

- lmgiesecke0 contributionsnice walking tour!!I enjoy walking tours, so was happy to find this tour through the colonial part of the city! Frances was a wonderful guide who brought us to sights we would otherwise not have seen, including the one small hill in the city. We were a small group - my husband had to cancel last minute, so it was just my daughter and I.Written June 12, 2023
- 578mindyc0 contributionsGreat exploration of food, culture and historyThe tour was great! Got to have small bites of many local food - pastelitos, mangu (Dominican mashed plantain), pera piña (juice of rice and pineapple), Jalao , mama juanca, and also local presidente beer. We walked around a bit outside of zona colonial, explored market and tasted mango, sour cherries and stinking toe fruit. The guide Francis also gave me about the history of Dominican Republic along the walk. I enjoyed a lot. Highly recommended !Written May 9, 2023
- annakulka0 contributionsTour exists. This company does not. This company is a scam. We purchased our tickets online in advance, but the paper tickets were meaningless at the location. DO NOT BUY. Here's what happened on our trip to Santo Domingo in January 2023. We printed out our tickets and arrived at the meeting location on time for the tour. We looked around for the tour guide. A cluster of tour guides on the corner of the plaza asked our preferred language. "English? Ok! We find someone." "Here, this guy -- he speak English." "Ok, we go." Our uniformed tour guide took us on a tour of the historical high points of Santo Domingo for about 2 hours. Great. At the end, we tipped him generously and prepared to go. Great confusion ensued. Evidently he does not work for 'Rincones de Mi Pais,' and works for the city as an independent contractor, as do all the other uniformed guides. There are many tour companies in the city -- no one had ever heard of 'Rincones de Mi Pais.' We inquired at a tour agency, who also attempted to contact them, and was unable. We were never able to get ahold of the original company (if it exists) the took our payment. Conclusion: This online company is a scam. Purchase your tour of Santo Domingo from real people once you get there. Although we received a ticket, upon arrival at the location, there was no one to take us on a tour except privately contractedWritten February 21, 2023
- Charles H0 contributionsGreat historical tourThis was a historical walk of hidden treasures in the colonial zone. The tour guides were knowledgeable and accommodatingWritten December 26, 2022
- kamdunlap0 contributionsRDFrances was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable about the history of the city and the island. Also got an opportunity to experience some of the modern culture as wellWritten December 17, 2022
- Wayne V0 contributionsCanceled by operator the night beforeOperator canceled event at 7pm on a Saturday night before a scheduled 9am start on Sunday morning, due to insufficient minimum. That was too late to make alternative plans, obviously. Nowhere do they warn of this cancelation policy, nor specify what is the minimum. I don't blame Viator entirely for this, but since the operator has surely canceled abruptly like this before, I blame Viator for continuing to work with this tour operator.Written December 2, 2022
- ms93310 contributionsZona ColonialThis was a very good tour. We enjoyed the things we learned and Francis was a very friendly and knowledgable guide. We didn't feel like we saw all the highlights so I guess that's the point of 'best kept secrets'. This isn't necessarily the top sites to see but some of them and some other lesser known sites. But the time and amount of walking etc. were just right for what we wanted.Written November 27, 2022
- constanceg7250 contributionsZona colonialIt was very nice to go off the normal touristic route, discover the side streets and learn about the history of the cityWritten November 23, 2022
- Damon R0 contributionsExcellent Tour!!This was an awesome tour that Francis gave me and my fiancée. He was very knowledgeable and patient with us the whole time making sure that we understood since we didn't speak any Spanish. He is most certainly a wealth of knowledge when it comes to history and everything that goes on with the country. The tour is something that everyone can benefit from. We recommend it for sure!!Written October 13, 2022

I had an amazing time with my tour guide Rosa who was very informative, interactive and most of all just fun to be around. I did this as a solo tour and had a blast. I recommend this if you want a quick tour in Santo Domingo. It’s a moderate activity level going up and down the stairs of the caves to the lake so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and breathable fabric. Ask for Rosa if possible!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and he got us water and bread to feed the ducks. It’s very hot and humid I went prepared with comfy shoes and light wear and a portable fan. You can honestly just get a ticket there when you arrive it’s probably a lot cheaper then the tour.

I feel bad writing this review as Jose, the tour operator, and Antonio, the guide, were very nice. However I would say this tour isn’t worth the money.
There are lots of guides selling their tours at the entrance of the park so, upon meeting Jose, I didn’t know he was the person I was looking for. Eventually we cleared that up and he set us up with Antonio, who would be our guide through the park. He was very lively and entertaining, but I can’t say I learned anything about the caves. I bought the tour hoping to learn something beyond what I would learn from exploring the park on my own. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to provide that.
He did provide some facts about the depth and temp of the water, the calcium carbonate that made the water blue. But he wasn’t able to answer our questions as he only had a few facts on hand. He wanted to give the tour in English but even when I asked questions in Spanish he wasn’t able to give much information.
He also clearly had other tours to get to, so he rushed us through the park. The tour lasted an hour, which would’ve been fine if I’d learned something within that hour, but in the end I felt more exhausted then when I started. It likely would’ve been shorter if I didn’t make him stop to give me more time to appreciate the surroundings.
Once he left us, we explored the park on our own, which was really nice.
Overall it felt like a rushed experience with slight “scam vibes”. I think I would’ve preferred to buy an entrance ticket and look up the information on Wikipedia.
Tip for those going: Ubers are tough to get to the park as many will cancel your ride due to how cheap the app pays the drivers. When you book an Uber, be prepared for drivers to call you and offer to take you for $20 one way if you cancel the ride. Be ready to negotiate that though.

Very beautiful experience! We went without a trip reservation and we were quickly and easily accommodated with an English speaking guide. The guide was very accommodating to my speed as I have an injured knee. Be prepared for lots of stairs!

We had an awesome time, Rosa was the best guide. We has small group so she was able to pay close attention to and answer all the questions about the Three Eyes National Park and all things about the Dominican Republic. I would recommend this tour to my family and friends, and have them as for Rosa as the guide.
