Say hello to Luis and Eduardo from us, would you? They know their trade and perform it at the highest level possible. We had a safe and entertaining ride, an awesome experience at Ziplining, and hoping to come back for a good time at buggy and horse riding next time we're in Puerto Plata. The place is very well maintained, the staff is very welcoming and friendly.

This was booked with Carnival Cruises (Amber Cove stop) - The day started off nice. The ride to the ziplines (not the ones at the waterfall) was good and safe. The ziplines were fun and we had a good meal. The trip to the waterfall was good and safe as well. Once we got there, it went downhill and very quickly. The waterfalls are a money grab and they will stuff as many people through as possible without regard to you and your safety. We saw it was very busy when we got there in the afternoon, evidenced by the mass of tour buses. We got our safety gear and started the hike. The hike isn't hard and really shouldn't take more than 20-25 minutes. Due to the crowds, ours took a little over 45 minutes. Not a big deal, but it became that once we got to the top. Once there we waited for about 15 minutes and started down the steps. We got very familiar with those steps as we spent over 3 hours on them until we finally got to the water. Once there we saw why it was taking so long. The current was extremely strong, with one of the tour guides mentioning they had never seen it like that. That was the second sign we should have turned back. Despite the signs and us actually talking about turning around and going back to the main area, we continued onwards. While waiting on the steps, we talked with the other people in our group. There were a few people that had done this one before and they said it was very different when they did it. It was as advertised in the pictures and other reviews. But that was then, and it most certainly was not like that the day we went. After the long wait it was getting late in the afternoon and the sun wasn't shinning on us. We felt the cold water as soon as we got in. The moment we went down the first slide we realized this wasn't going to be fun. It was my wife and I with our 9-year-old son. After that first slide, he was scared and with good reason. It only got worse as we piled into an area where we couldn't touch the ground. Normally this isn't a big deal, especially since we had life jackets on. However, people just kept coming. It felt like a mosh pit in the water. There was a point where we were separated from our son, which any parent should say is not a good thing. He can swim just fine, but this water was different. There ended up being lots of injuries to wrists, arms, legs and knees. Needless to say the aid station after the last slide was busy. My wife injured her knee badly - ended up with a torn MCL and PCL. As you could imagine that made the rest of the cruise not fun at all for her. She had trouble walking and was in pain. You would think that is bad enough, but the trip back to the ship topped the cake. Due to the long wait, we were well past our return time. In fact, we didn't get back to the boat until 1 hour after the scheduled departure time. The good and safe driving went out the window. Keep in mind this is an open-air truck (similar to older military vehicles) and the seatbelts didn't work. There was a complete disregard for safety as they drove as fast as they could to get back to the port. If you book this, don't be afraid to turn back once you get to the falls if you don't feel comfortable. Be prepared to wait. You may get lucky, or you may not like us. I wish we could have taken pictures, but it wasn't allowed. The day we went they water was not as it was pictured here.

What a wonderful adventure! The team was wonderful. It was perfectly paced. The food was fabulous. Arianny was an amazing guide!

When I first booked this experience I was a little nervous because my sons are only 6 and 7 are both are very small for their age. (35 pounds/ 41” tall and 40 pounds/ 44” tall respectively.) Let me tell you I had absolutely NOTHING to worry about! Safety is paramount to this company and we were kept amazingly safe throughout the entire excursion. We were greeted like family and treated with kindness and respect throughout the entire experience! Both of our sons were given guides (Leo and Julio) who went along with us and rode with our sons on every single one of the 11 zip lines throughout the entire course! I’m convinced that my children had even more fun because of these guides and the entire experience was a HUGE confidence booster for both of them! I should also add that we are a party of 6 and that my other children (girls ages 13 and 17) also had an incredible time! Everyone was laughing and smiling and it was a treasure of a bonding experience for all of us. In addition to zip lining, we each got to hold and have our picture taken with a beautiful parrot, we got to sample locally grown fruits, mamajuana (a local drink) and homemade hot chocolate which was delicious. The photographer who took our photos did a wonderful job and the price for the photos was reasonable. The photos were emailed to me in a zip file 2 days after our excursion. Our driver Juan was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and very reassuring to us throughout our trip especially in the beginning when I was worried about whether my small children could participate. There are lots of stairs to climb so this is not something you should do with back or knee problems but if you can handle stairs then you can do this excursion and trust me when I tell you it’s worth the effort! The views are spectacular and the ride is amazing! This excursion was worth the money and gave us fond memories that we will treasure for a lifetime! Great tour on the mega bus island tour with lunch. Eduardo made it entertaining we had a great day one tip don’t sit in the back very bumpy !

Amazing and thrilling experience, loved the sport. Israel was the best instructor that came with us and took great care of us.

We did MEGA Adventures Countryside tour and lunch. We boarded an open air truck not too far from pier. Our driver, Santiago, kept us reasonably comfortable on roads that were rather rough. Tour director , Eduardo, gave constant commentary as drive took us out of Amber Cove into countryside of Dominican Republic where the poorer people of this extremely poor country live. We drove by churches, schools, small communities to a small farm where we were able to tour the house and see how this multi-generational family lives. We were then taken through Puerto Plata, capital city of the Puerto Plata province. We drove past our ship on to an authentic lunch of rice, beans, chicken, pork roast, and local fruit. A small store selling local items topped the experience. We highly recommend this excursion.

Booked through Carnival Cruise. Zipline was exhausting for Grammie because of the stairs n speed they want you to go between line. Still a wonderful adventure. Lunch was so yummy and the people were so nice. Horseback ride was good. Unfortunately it was raining off n on so it was extremely muddy. Poor horses. They earned their hay for sure. That's just winter on the island. Everything was a once in a lifetime bucket list exciting adventure. Wonderful guide Israel. He was so knowledgeable and helpful. JuanCarlos was a fantastic driver. He didn't scare us at all. We have to give a huge shout out to our fabulous paparazzi, Mawell. We will definitely use this company again. Thanks to all.

I can't imagine,a better way to see rural Dominican Republic than.with rhe Mega truck. It traversed the muddy back roads with ease, and the with a relatively comfortable ride for the passengers. Eduardo was a great guide, and Luis drove us sagely on roads barely wider than the truck. A good lunch was included at a peaceful Mega cafe in the back country. The people we saw in the villages all greeted us with waves and smiles. We wished we had known to bring candy, pencils or other small gifts for the chldren. It would be hard to find a happier group of people, despite their having so little, materially.

Fantastic tour! We were able to see the city and go up the mountain to see a home and school. Highly recommend taking candy for the kids along the way. We met some of the nicest people! Ur guide Francisco was excellent!

Francisco and Ramon were FANTASTIC tour guides! Our family had a BLAST on our all-day excursion around the Dominican Republic. Francisco was kind and funny, and he knew all of the best places to see and experience. This was one of the best and most informative tours I've been on! Alex was VERY knowledgeable about the history, background and culture of Dominican Republic and Daniel was an exceptional driver! We went through Dominican mountains, hills, country side and through town. We even went in a tour of a family's home, where they so graciously served us organic grown fruits, such as passio fruit, guava, Mango and pineapple! Highly recommend this tour!
