SAONA DAY TRIP with WALVIN TOURS WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ! !
My friends and family took a day trip to Saona Island, the trip was super easy for us since we have been on boats before. We got picked up at our resort than transferred to a bigger Coach bus. from there it was a 40 min ride to a souvenir/coffee stop ( very convenient with all Punta Cana stuff to take home ) we got back on the bus and headed towards the dock to get on the Catamaran boat , the ride there was spectacular, it felt like a party on the way there, everyone was SO KIND , HELPFULL & can speak both languages as best as possible, so there was no confusion, they had dancing , drinking & the views where perfect , we had a group of about 75-80 people & they attended everyone with so much care. We got to the natural pool water , it was breathtaking, something out of a magazine or travel guide, we where there for almost an hour & then headed over to Saona Island, and that was even prettier then a post card. They greeted us there with Delicious food and we where able to swim and stay for a good almost 3 1/2 hours. We took AMAZING pictures, the tour guide was very knowledgeable & Polite , The Photography Brother are the best duo ( Martin & Raylin ) , they took the best picture , quick easy & affordable, they got them right on my phone within moments i didn't have to wait days or hours , quick easy service . If you want a day filled with Post Card Memories, a day to escape it all, this is it. & Leondro's family tour guide was the perfect choice.

Safari Adventure by Punta Cana Tours
We did the full day Safari Adventure tour today. The tour was advertised as being in an open air bus but we were in a mini van. We didn't mind, as the A/C was a welcome relief from the heat. We were a bit delayed getting started because a solo traveler felt this change was false advertising and after being picked up decided they wanted their money back so we had to sit at a gas station for a bit waiting on their ride. The tour was otherwise pretty much as described so we didn't care that the transport didn't match the description, although an explanation for why this was would have been nice (and never happened). Gabriel the guide was knowledgeable and helpful and we enjoyed seeing and learning more about the culture, history and industry of the DR. Lunch was delicious and we would recommend this tour to others wanting to see outside the big tourist areas.

Great trip, stay away from the lobster liars.
Let me say that the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was the fact that the guys doing the cooking on the island will rip you off on the lobster dinner. They want you to pay the extra for the lobster, which is no problem at the "first" price they tell you. They were asked several times about the price they stated at first, which was sixteen dollars and they confirmed. When the lobster was brought to the table, it was now sixty dollars each. They are a rip off and stay away from them and eat what is free. Now for the rest........we had a great time on the catamaran and the speed boat. The beach is beautiful and the entertainment was fun. The natural pool is also beautiful. The trip there on the bus was entertaining and gave you a good look at the countryside as well as a distant view of the mountains. This was our second trip to Saona and it was worth it.

        Saona Deluxe semi-private tour
It was an excellent day trip, good we had chosen the Saona Deluxe through XPO Tours which was a smaller like semi-private tour and quick transfer from our hotel. Highly recommended.

WALVIN'S TOURS OPERATOR BIG SCAMERS ‼️‼️‼️
WALVIN'S TOURS OPERATOR BIG SCAMERS‼️‼️ They are big scammers!!! Never screw anything up with them! I bought tickets for me and my son for a day trip to Saona Island. But I had to ask to cancel for my son and they refused and didn't refund my money! Scammers, with an arrogant and rude attitude! So on the day of the trip I went alone, one of the "professional" photographers behaved extremely rudely (there were two), the older of the two, I don't know his name! Rude and arrogant, he allowed himself to make a remark to me, why did I come to the Dominican Republic and not speak Spanish, but English?! WTF!!! Fraudsters and non-professionals who only want to take your money!!! Never again with them!!!!!!!!!

        Excellent staff.
Family trip to The Dominican Republic. First trip somewhere tropical for my 75 year old mom and my 3 kids. I booked a tour through Punta Cana Tour so everyone could see so many things. Speed boats and snorkeling both in the ocean and at a beautiful little island. Then a tour down the river with some time at the rainforest. It was a full and busy day but so worth it. My mom is a bigger lady who’s had both her knees replaced. The staff was amazing. Always there to help get her on and off the boats and get around. No judgement. No telling her it wasn’t going to work. We had so much fun. Will book again!

        Saona Island excursion
We booked with Punta Cana Tours prior to leaving the US for Punta Cana. Overall, the trip went well with a small hiccup. We were scheduled for pick up at our resort @ 7;30 AM. We were at the check in/out @ 7:10 AM. At @ 7;40 AM, I called the company to inquire as to there whereabouts and if they were running late. They advised me they were at the gate and not let in. Neither the gate(not Punta Cana Tours fault) nor the company made an attempt to contact the front desk or us. The bus simply left(their fault). A simple call, text or e-mail and we would have met them outside the gate. After reaching out to them, I was advised they would come back for us, but this could've been avoided from the start with a little better management of the situation. I suggest arranging contact when you advise them of your room number to prevent this from happening to you. After that, the trip went fine. We drove to Bayahibe, where we waited out turn to board our boat. First stop was a very large sand bar, @ 8 sq km, where you can walk around in shallow water, take in the views and get pictures. They also have photographers taking pictures that you can later purchase. Overall the picture package wasn't a bad price. We stayed there @ 45 minutes. Next stop is Saona, where we spent a few hours, swam, walked the beaches, got some more photos, both professional and personal, and had a buffet style lunch. The island was beautiful. The buffet OK. Beware around the trees. My wife got stung on one of her toes. Probably a yellow jacket, as I saw several on a subsequent tour. But that's nature. The trip was worth the money and we had a good time. However, if we were to book again, in the future, we certainly would've spent the extra money for a smaller, more private tour that takes you at different times or locations. That being said, the company still provided us with a good tour and the staff was very friendly and upbeat.

        Samana Whale Watching Tour
Really bad experience going whale watching from Punta Cana to Samana Bay. The 1.5 hour bus ride was fine on the way there but it is a small, somewhat uncomfortable bus. They serve sandwiches for breakfast, banana and juice box. The bathroom breaks are half way through the drives each way and you have to run to get to the bathroom before the tour leaves the dock. They seemed irritated when my 6 year old needed an additional bathroom break. The boats chase the whales on this tour. I've spoken to a few people who've gone whale watching in other countries and it was not like this. Swells were large during whale watching. Weather is out of the control of the company but what is in their control is determining that it is unsafe to take a group of people on an overloaded open boat across the bay. The swells were huge, women were screaming and they had to stop the boat in the middle of the bay to distribute life jackets. I truly feared for my safety. Otherwise, the lunch was good but nothing to write home about. We were rained out of Cayo Levantado experience. They still took us but we spent the whole time under a shelter shivering from the cold rain. Overall, I can't recommend this company for safety reasons. If the weather is perfect, maybe it's a totally different experience but you can't trust them if the weather turns and a storm rolls across the bay.

        Dreadful
This was the worst tour with the worst company I have ever used in twenty years of travel, our pick up time was 7.30 , we were doing the sanoa island trip, it was gone 11 when we got the port and another hour before we got on our first boat, there were meant to be a max of 12 adults only, there were 35 including children!!! In total it was a 13 hour day with only 2 hours actually spent on sanoa, avoid at all costs

The best part of our trip (apart from our wedding)
My now husband and I chartered the “wedding boat” (catamaran). It was our way of showing our appreciation to our wedding party for being a part of such a special occasion for us. We chose Punta Cana as our location for our destination wedding and as such, we booked a sunset dinner cruise with Punta Cana Tours because of their customer service skills and their willingness to accommodate such a large party. We chose the “seafood grill” dinner option; the food was amazing, the drinks were on point and the boat crew were outstanding! Besides our wedding, this was the greatest part of our trip and the memory will forever be etched in our hearts and mind. I will never hesitate to book with this company, whenever we are in the Punta Cana area! I usually never write reviews, regardless of how satisfied i am with services rendered, however, I had to make an exception! The service was unmatched and I cannot stress that enough!

The whole excursion was rubbish from start to end. The driver that picked us up at the hotel seemed like he didn't know where he was going or was killing time. He went back and forth to hotels we weren't even picking people up from then turning around back the other way.... round roundabouts back the same way we must of added a good 30 mins on the journey wasting time. There was far too many people... it was a chaotic mess and completely disorganized. They didn't have the buggy we booked so we had to have a different one. If you spoke English you were left not understanding anything that was going on. As they were so many people you couldn't go more than a snails pace and the stops were just massive sales locations with touts everywhere. 10 mins at each location but again because so busy and being hassled by sales it was more like 2 mins. We paid for the camera to video us as we had our 6 year old and wanted to have a vid for memory. They positioned the camera so you couldn't even see him just the empty seat in front and the footage was awful as it was just us sat waiting in the buggy most of the time because we had to keep stopping every 2 mins due to there being about 50 buggies queuing to move. We then had to argue for 15 mins to get our money back. I have lived in DR before and have done many many excursions here. This is by far the worst. I would not recommend this trip to anyone. Save your money and the company needs to improve massively or give up running it. Staff were rude and unfriendly also

Unfortunately a very bad experience. Appointment made for 8:30 a.m. On site we were then told that we would have to wait at least until 9:00 a.m. so that the group would be large enough. As an alternative, we were offered a much more expensive private tour, otherwise we would have to wait. Rip off! The buggies were in a questionable condition, both optically and technically

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the buggies tour did not meet your expectations, normally we receive great reviews on this tour. We had some delays on the clients arrival that's the reason why the tour was delayed for about 30 minutes. We are sorry about that, we try to avoid these delays but sometimes buses are delayed with the client pickup. Again, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the tour.

Did the ATVs tour! I have done many in my travels this was the worst experience ever. You literally have children begging the entire route for money. You don’t go past 10 mph it’s over 50 atv all at same time so of course it’s more like walking and sightseeing how poor and awful feeling. It’s not atv it’s really sad what they do. We were told we would ride on beach that never happened. It’s such a scam and this company punta cana tours set it up. I was warned about this company and took a chance I should of never had! I will never ever even go back to punta cana just because of how horrible everything turned out. We had a boat tour scheduled that was canceled. We had parasailing that was also canceled. We then had dolpins scheduled for 2 pm they claim. 11:00 am.
It’s not a professional place and I will never recommend anyone to them. I even told the hotel who said we’re not the first to tell them about them. The hotel is aware of there games.

Dear Yessica, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the buggies tour did not meet your expectations, normally we receive great reviews on this tour. There are certain regulations about the speed limit and all clients have to follow them. Our tour description online does not mention you will ride on the beach, this is in fact the last stop to get rest and enjoy the amazing view and the azure blue water, sorry if you did not understand it correctly. Your water tours were cancelled due to bad weather. All water tours were prohibited in July 2nd and the 3rd due to the tropical storm Elsa and you were notified very early in the morning, your full refund was done the same day. And about the dolphin tours, we regrets your comments, your voucher was sent with a pickup time of 11.20 am and the bus was there at the exact time, we kept the bus at the lobby until 11.45 am and when you were reached on the phone you told us you thought the pickup time was at 2 pm, we lament the misunderstanding. Kindest regards,

The only thing about this tour that was on time was the pick up and drop off from the hotel. Once you arrived at the location they sit you down on some benches and show you a video don’t explain nothing to you just hand out paper to sign your name and then you sit there for about 30-40 minutes during absolutely nothing. The buggies are rundown in terrible condition. Literally mirrors, doors, panels are secured by ropes. When we finally took off for the tour not 10 mins into the tour we stopped a shop were they pushed us to by products without giving samples or much explanations of what was for sale. The next part of the tour we went to a cave with Water we were there for maybe 10 minutes. The third and final part of the tour we drove to Macau beach park the buggies, Then proceeded to walk about half mile down to the beach. While we were at the beach we ordered drinks from the bar on the beach, Our drinks just arrived on the table And they told us it was time to go again. Don’t waste your time on this tour you spend most the time doing nothing.

Dear kenSF84, We appreciate your review and we are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations, this is one of our most popular tours and we normally have great reviews. We have made some changes on the tour and as this is a short tour we have remove the stop on the beach so that our clients can have more time riding the buggies and on the cave. We would like to ask for an opportunity if you come back to DR again, please contact me directly and I will be pleased to assist you. Regards,

The tours picked up on time but although purchased with Cave Swim, riding through farmlands and beach trip, they just skipped the beach trip completly and cut the trip short with no explanation. We made a deal with the company that photos from the next trip - boat trip we had also booked with them would be included to account for the missing aspect of her buggy trip. On the boat trip when the crew realised we had arranged a deal to have photos provided, the staff turned into children, basically excluding us in the trip, stopped taking any further photos and basically ignored our family for he reminder of the trip. Very poor tourism treatment, left in a foreign country in the middle of the sea with no one communicating with us. We have given the company evey opportunity to provide the photos that were taken as per deal but have got no where, with excuses being provided, seems tour operatormade a deal they could not honour as photo company is separate company, asked for an appropriate amount of refund for trip not as described i.e. only getting 2/3rd of trip but this was ignored so have had to refer to section 75 of the credit card act to reclaim money for a trip that was not as described.

Unfortunately this company is not one that we would recommend.

One of my favorite part was went they took us to a cave with a natural river under ground. That was beautiful. The tour guides were very kind and you feel secure at all time.
Also make sure you book a photographer. They take awesome pictures and affordable.
      My kids had a blast!!!

The worst tour I've been on after 20 years of travel. They didn't provide the services promised, you know an actual tour in buggies. They left my group on the side in the road. They wouldn't even help us get a taxi to get home. So dangerous. The actual tour itself was so boring and one giant upsell. Terrible.

You start the trip by being offered a bigger buggy for $60. ( ripoff) the normal buggys arent much different , old and rusty. Or you are offered a more private tour ; to the same places ) for $80. Ripoff. You drive in line at 20mph for 20 minutes to a small stall where they try and sell you souvenirs. Then 20 mins to a small cave with water where u can queue for 20 mins to jump in ,and all the vendors try and get you into there shops ( selling the exact same tatty souvenirs) all bought and shipped from china probably . Then a 20 minute drive down the same road in single file at 10mph . Call to an average beach for 15 minutes then back. Ive done many tourist attractions all over europe and its just dissapointing the quality over here and substance to any of the trips, not only that, if you want a photograph that youve been asked to pose for several times, its going to hit you back $35. Honestly im fed up with people trying to rip you off in punta cana excursions. Do i think this was worth the $130. No, i dont ,At least we got to give the children some money who were approaching the cars every 10 minutes.

Thank you for your review and we're sorry you did not enjoy the buggy excursion as much as most clients do. The private tour is only offered if you have a group and would like your own guide. We find that most individuals enjoy seeing local products at the country house stop that are made locally as well as enjoying the beach and cave stops. On our site we are specific that there are vendors but a kind no will do the trick. These are public country roads used so we cannot control some locals who wish to make a living. Thanks again for your review.

I did this tour with my adult daughter, and we had a blast!
A couple disclaimers - our buggies were not like the ones in the pictures. Ours were very old, and I don't know how they held together through the whole ride, but they did! There also was very little mud, so unless there was a lot of rain the day before or day of your trip, don't expect to get muddy.
I read several reviews about buggies breaking down and was concerned about that. Except for ours stalling once, we didn't have a problem. Another couple had theirs break down, but there's an extra tour guide at the end of the group that gives you his buggy so you can continue on. They stay behind and get the broken one fixed - which didn't take long at all. I got the feeling they're used to them breaking down and have become very good about knowing what's wrong and how to fix them quickly.
You'll visit an area that will talk about cacao, coffee, etc. You'll have the opportunity to buy some of their products, along with local crafts. You'll then go to the 'swimming hole'. It's a cave that walk down into, then can jump off in to cool water. As refreshing as that sounded on a hot day, I wasn't excited about jumping in to unfamiliar waters in a dark cave. But others did it, and seemed to enjoy it.
After more riding, we then went to Macao beach - which was spectacular. It's apparently the only beach left that hasn't been developed with hotels yet. There were lots of locals, but not nearly as populated as your resort beach probably will be.
You'll be picked up in an open-air safari truck. Do NOT expect to be comfortable! But luckily it's not a long ride to the buggies. Although it wouldn't seem like it, the buggies were actually very comfortable. We went through some VERY uneven terrain and did not bounce around as much as you might expect. Also, make sure you take a bag or something secure to put any belongings in. Another couple that was in our group had their phone in a pocket and it fell out somewhere during the trip. Definitely bring a bandana - it will help with mud and/or dust. While you're waiting for everyone in the tour to arrive, they'll try to talk you in to an 'upgrade' - which basically means you get your own private tour guide and can go at your own pace. Of course you have to pay extra for this. We chose not to - there ended up only being two other buggies in our group. Also, if you're wondering how you can take pictures - I'd recommend that you don't! They have a photographer (they refer to as 'paparazzi') that follows your group around on a motorcycle. He'll go ahead of you and take pictures as you go by, and also pics at the various stops. You can then get all the pics on a CD and emailed for $40. We thought it was well worth it. The pictures were much better than trying to take clear shots on a very bumpy ride.
This tour was a lot of fun! It gave us a good opportunity to see some of the countryside and a beautiful, less-crowded beach!

We are a family of 6 that includes a 10 month old, which we were reassured multiple times that infants are welcome since a car seat was going to be provided. Yes the car seat was provided but the attendant didn’t strap the car seat down causing the car seat to shift during the first bump on the road and causing an injury. The incompetence of the workers due to
Then being rushed since they have to send out about 30 buggies. We were told that we would spend 20 min at Macao beach which was absolute lie. We spend about 4 min at the beach. We were told we’ll spend 20 min in the water cave, this also was full of crap and we spend maybe 2 min . It was absolutely packed. The buggies are outdated and broke down mid way into the tour. It wasn’t only my buggy but several other. This tour should be ashamed of themselves for scamming “tourists” out of there money and time.

Thank you. Although we sometimes we receive negative reviews and we respond accordingly, we are concerned that you may have posted this review in error. Caribbean Dream would never allow a 10 month old on the buggie excursion for safety reasons. Please confirm that you have not posted this review on the wrong board. Also you can contact us with your voucher number so I can investigate this occurrence. For the time being I do not see your name in our system. Regards.
