About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 898brookek0 contributionsBest tour guide ever!Darren Millett was hands down THEE BEST tour guide on the entire island. He answered all of our questions and then some! We learned more from him in 5 minutes than the other guides around the island. He very thoroughly explained the rich history and gave us tips and pointers for when we come back. And when we do come back we're asking specifically for him! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Much love, Brooke.Written September 9, 2024
- jeffreybW7810PG0 contributionsMust do tourOur tour guild Millet was very knowledgeable of the islands. He kept everyone involved throughout the tour. During our walk to the caves he was always breaking off or picking some kind of plant to explain what it was, what they use it for and even some sampling of a few. As in the title this is a must do for all first time visitors.Written April 24, 2024
- D2255WKsarahl0 contributionsHighly recommend! Very organizedMy college roommates and I loved our trip and our tour guide, Millett! Getting to go caving was an amazing experience. Millett was so passionate and informative about the caves and he even told us that he was part of a rescue team for people who get lost in caves. His knowledge and experience helped ease some initial nerves about caving and swimming in the cave. Millett was also very informative about the history and details in the cave and on the trip which made the whole experience so interesting. It was a bit chilly so be sure to bring a towel and warm clothes. If you are considering this excursion please book it! We loved everything about our day and it was the highlight of our trip to Bermuda. Thanks so much, Millett!Written April 2, 2024
- Seaside7634820 contributionsGreat tour!Ashley took our three generations of family on a thoroughly enjoyable and informative tour. We loved her stories and appreciated her local knowledge. Nice to be off the beaten path.Written January 3, 2024
- CANsam20050 contributionsThe best day !!Millet made our day! Fun, respectful, knowledgeable. We hiked, swam in a cave, explored another cave (I have claustrophobia and was still able to do it!), we jumped of a cliff into a natural pool and we swam/snorkeled in a gorgeous beach! We had an added bonus if seeing sea turtles in a very well hidden (back yard) natural pool. The van was comfy. All equipment was supplied. The included lunch and ice cream was delicious. We had a perfect day. A++ Millet! And thank you for your service!Written December 2, 2023
- C8852ULkaral0 contributionsBermuda’s amazing nature tourWe took a full day excursion to the caves, cliff diving, and snorkeling. It was beautiful, well worth the money, the guide, D. Millett was knowledgeable and very compassionate about his job and Bermuda . My friends and I aren’t very brave but he made us feel safe and did a wonderful job. The views were amazing.Written October 8, 2023
- Arlene A0 contributionsDale our tour guide was a first gem. He was wonderful. Smart, professional, warm, humorous and well spoken. Thanks!!!Hidden Gems tour and tour guide was superb. Our guide Dale was “the best”! We had an incredible day. The caves, cliffs and beach were fantastic.Written August 29, 2023
- Passport092944369910 contributionsHidden Gems Cave ExplorationMy group did the Hidden Gems cave exploration. Ashley, the owner, was our guide. To say she was phenomenal would be an understatement. She went above and beyond to maximize all of our time and gave us an amazing tour. She truly loves what she does and has a passion for Bermuda and her guests!Written July 17, 2023
- richelles9770 contributionsThanks for the memories, Dale!If this is your first trip to Bermuda, and you love adventure, this is the tour for you. Knowledgeable, friendly tour guides safely guide you from one activity to the next without rushing you (your snorkeling time might be cut a little short if your ship is leaving port on the day of your tour). A tasty lunch is included in the cost. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than some tours, but you get a lot of bang for your buck and the planning is done for you. It is a must for first timers who don't want to lose precious time trying to navigate these activities on their own. The van ride across the island was as good as any island bus tour because our guide, Dale, is a Bermuda native whose family has been on the island for generations. Thank you, Dale, for your positive attitude and friendly demeanor, and thank you for the wonderful memories!Written June 4, 2023
- feliciad8440 contributionsBest excursion ever!As someone who has been to many islands and have done many excursions, this was by far our best one yet. Mr. Millett not only brought us to many hidden caves, swimming holes but took his time to educate us on the history of the island. He let us try natural berries and smell some leaves that would help with bites and much more. Mr. Millett was the best tour guide and I highly recommend booking this tour! We will be back one day.Written May 5, 2023
- Mzhou1890 contributionsGreat tour with Dale!!Amazing excursion! Was so much fun and couldn’t have found any of these places on our own. Lunch was delicious and each of the spots we went to were definitely gems! Dale was also a great tour guide, very friendly and informative and also took great photos and videos for us! Would recommend to anyone visiting, the hike isn’t bad at all, I had sneakers on but wish I wore just sandals cause we had so many water activities.Written May 1, 2023
- 647courtneye0 contributionsVery worth price of the experienceOur tour guide Millet was an island native who was extremely informative of not only the islands history but also the culture. He regularly check our entire tour was not only safe but also having a good time. He also took great photos in multiple locations and was very friendly. It was well worth the price to be guided through the amazing experiences of a tour across the island, going through Bermuda caves, cliff diving, and exploring a Bermuda beach.Written April 30, 2023
- 802lizb0 contributionsThe best cruise excursion ever!We had such an amazing time on this tour! Our tour guide, Millet, was fabulous. He knew so much about the history of the island and gave us a great tour. He showed us uses for local plants, all about the different wildlife we saw, and neat little places to go off the beaten path. He was engaging and fun to listen to! My son was scared of going into the cave, and Millet took him under his wing and made him feel comfortable. My son wound up LOVING the cave and wants to go back! This adventure had so much to experience… caves, beach, swimming, cliff jumping… it was just so, so cool. I would recommend this trip to everyone wanting to explore small pieces of the things Bermuda has to offer.Written April 26, 2023
- V7549SIalician0 contributionsAn unforgettable experience of a lifetimeThis was a great experience and a must-do! Our tour guide Millet was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining! There was so much to do throughout the day…including our favorite parts of swimming in the caves and cliff jumping! The food was phenomenal with the additional bonus of homemade delicious ice cream. I would definitely recommend!!!Written October 17, 2022
- Ambassador6825090 contributionsWorth the time and every penny! Our guide, Harley, was awesome! He showed us many cool things on the island and we had a great time hiking, exploring caves, swimming in a cave, and spending time on a secluded beach. We also enjoyed a delicious fish lunch at a local restaurant. We felt like locals! Thank so much!Written October 10, 2022

With is tour you get to see all of the different parishes in Bermuda. We enjoyed learning about the history, the relationships of the people (honking is away to say hello to each other), their water collection system, their beautiful beaches and the medicinal value of many of their plants. As we passed sites they would point out suggestions of other “hidden treasures” we might want to add to our trip. We loved exploring and swimming in the caves. We even enjoyed the cliff diving and I am not usually one for heights. Because we went places that were the “hidden treasures” of the island we never had to worry about crowd. Ashley and Rochee led our group of 22 through the sites and even took pictures for us on each of our own personal cameras as we jumped off the cliffs or swam in the caves. Lunch was good and the ice cream was yummy. I would highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I first did this tour 4 years ago during our honeymoon. We were excited to bring our daughters and extended family back with us, because we knew this tour would be a winner. The tone was set immediately by Harley, as his warm and welcoming nature had the entire group chatting like old friends. He easily kept the attention of everyone in the group, including our 3 pre-teen/teens! I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Bermuda, it is unique and offers a bit of everything. Hopefully you are lucky enough to get Harley as your guide!

Recently took a cruise and booked this excursion through the cruise line. Given it was a cruise's fault: description didn't state that we needed sneakers and not flip flops, one would have hoped that the guide upon seeing us could have told us and we would have run to change our shoes as we had time. Instead, Angel, the guide, was horsing around when she could have taken that time to check on everyone.
Next, crammed in a mini van, we drove to our jungle destination, where Angel attempted to entertain us with some poorly put together historical info about Bermuda and lame jokes. As we got to our stop: again we didn't expect hiking but swimming for 2 hours in a cave. Instead we hiked for some 30-45 min, which eventually got to be fun due to nature elements of it and not the guide. We arrived at a cave, in which we swam for about 20 min.
Millet, our driver, on the other hand was a breath of fresh air after Angel's unprofessionalism . The two times that he took over the mic we got more useful and interestingly put together information than Angel had us listen in 3 hours. In addition, Millet made sure everyone wasn't left behind and he was a great driver.
Snorkeling part of the trip was another disappointment. Expecting at least an hour and a half we got merely 30-45 min at a beach that was nothing special. Instead, go to Tobacco Bay and you'll get plenty more to see.
Finally, another letdown was a lunch at a very unremarkable "restaurant" in front of an airport with a food that was more of a fast food than a restaurant food.
Overall, not worth the money: $250 a person through cruise line. Caves exploration was fun but that's about it. Other parts of an excursion failed miserably.

We are sorry to see that you did not choose to have a good time with our wonderful tour guides Angel and Millett. Angel has been with our company much longer than Millett and taught him all that he needs to know about the tours. It does sound like you had a personal vendetta toward Angel. This is very sad to see as everyone knows her to be a fun loving humorous individual. But you have painted her in a different light that we will not allow in an attempt to tarnish her name and her spirit. She was deeply hurt to read your negative comments, but we guess it made someone such as yourself feel better to be that way. All other reviews speak for themselves and we will most definitely leave it at that!
There are many other things we could address regarding your extensive review, but it is not worth us wasting anymore time to defend ourselves. Once again, the other over 750 Excellent Reviews will do that for us :-) It is our hope that you will not come back to join us with Hidden Gems in the future as we thrive on positivity while providing our guests with the best Bermuda experience! Next time, we suggest you think a bit more sensibly if you sign up for a 'jungle tour' as common sense would tell you to wear sneakers and not flip flops.

My sister and I took this tour as part of our cruise; it was one of the excursions offered through NCL. It stands out as one of the highlights of our trip. Our tour guide, Ashley, was super. She was knowledgeable and good humored. Throughout the drive to our various destinations, she told us about the island and answered our many questions. She was also the group photographer, which was much appreciated. When you tell people you jumped off a 15 foot cliff, you want proof!
The dry caves, wet cave swimming, jungle, cliff jumping, blue hole and snorkeling were the best adventures and the perfect way to spend a day in Bermuda. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the many wonders that Bermuda holds.

Highlight of our trip! Shay is funny, knowledgeable, engaging, warm, and more than willing to make your experience the absolute best she can. We didn’t realize that they pick you up at your hotel, so we drove to the naval dockyard where the tour began. We were lost and therefore a few minutes late and panicking. Shay found us in the parking lot with her big smile and calming presence, instantly changing our mood that would last the rest of the day. She picked up the rest of the group, giving historical information (with a great sense of humor). The hike through the jungle is easy and fun, the first cave is interesting (make sure to wear sneakers!) and a little narrow at times but very quick and nothing to be concerned about. Swimming in the cave, is a magical experience and if you don’t do it, I imagine you will look back and regret it! The water is warm, clean and crystal clear. Shay took great pictures and videos for us. Jumping off the 15 foot cliff in Blue Water Hole was also a really cool experience and something I had never done before! During lunch we were able to get to know our other group members a little more, all who were interesting, funny and just lovely people. Lastly, we went snorkeling at a beautiful national park beach. We saw parrot and cow fish near a beautiful reef. Spending 7 hours with a group you don’t know, doing a lot of things you have never done before can sound a bit intimidating. By the end, we were sad it was over. Thank you Shay, for acting as excited for us as we were to experience it ourselves for the first time. It is an experience we will never forget!

Hidden Gems was by far my favorite excursion that I took with my recent cruise. We met with our tour directors Ashley and Angel who made our trip such a memorable one.
Once we met up with our tour guides we headed to the bus and took a bus ride that took us to the other side or Bermuda. We were given bags with a helmet/headlamp and 2 bottles of water. I came unprepared so the bottles of water were extremely helpful.
Even though the ride was long, they gave us information about the island and kept us engaged. Once we got off the bus we headed into a jungle.
While we were in the jungle we were given really cool fun facts about the area. Ranging from herbs to wildlife in the area. From herbs that cure headaches to cherries that could be taken directly from the tree and eaten without washing.
After some walking we made it to the cave where our helmets and headlights were needed. We were given hairnets for sanitary reasons and put our helmets on top. I have a big head so I had to try my best to squeeze it on. (No worries though, it fit). We headed in and I was told to be careful since I was tall.
What made me feel very safe and content with Hidden Gems was Angel who took my bag for me once we got to the lowest cave so I could watch for my head and not worry about my bag. Thank you for your help there Angel!
After we got out of the hiking caves we made it to the cave jumping wet caves. While the water was freezing it was still a blast! Ashley shined a light for our footing so we wouldn’t cut our toes or feet on the sharp rocks.
After the cave jumping we were asked what we wanted for lunch. I took pepperoni pizza since I’m not a huge fish fan.
We headed to the cliff jumping and I overcame my fear of heights by doing a 15 foot cliff jump. That was definitely a huge hit but fun!
After the cliff jump we headed to lunch where we got to taste ginger beer for the first time! So good!
After lunch we headed to snorkeling which was the last part of our day.
Thank you so much Ashley and Angel!

If you’re looking for a sign to book this tour THIS IS IT!This excursion was the perfect blend of Bermuda’s natural beauty and rich history. Millet was a fantastic guide. Extremely patient, professional and funny! He provided interesting facts and stories for all 7 hours of the tour. The caves were breathtaking and the water was so relaxing I never wanted to leave. Great vibes all around. I highly recommend!!!
Tip- if you are traveling via cruise you will pay significantly more money if you book directly through the cruise. Instead, book via trip advisor or the hidden gems website.

So glad we decided on this shore excursion while in Bermuda with the Norwegian Joy. Our tour guide Millet was exceptional. He gave us tons of info on the history of Bermuda and also made the experience fun. We got a guided tour during the approximate 1 hour bus ride to the caves, that included local history, stories and anecdotes about Bermuda life. You get the chance to go inside a dry cave to experience the breathtaking formations inside and take photos. Then you go to a wet cave where you can swim in the water and do more photos. Next is a chance to jump off 10 foot and 15 foot cliffs into a beautiful inlet off the ocean. Then we had lunch at Eliana's that included the Island's famous rum swizzle drink and ice cream. Highly recommend the fried fish meal option. The excursion finished off with snorkeling and swimming at Cooper's Island nature preserve. All in all a great day. A word of caution though. This adventure involved a lot of activity and would not be for someone with mobility issues. Definitely follow the recommendation to wear sneakers and bring water shoes. Rocky terrain and lots if walking/hiking are involved. Don't miss this opportunity if you get the chance.

My wife and I along with our daughter and her boyfriend had a wonderful day on this informative action tour.
From the early morning pier pickup by Ashley to the final pier dropoff by Shee we were treated to a day of action and information. Shee was a fount of local history and information with a bubbly personality. The excursion included a jungle walk, cave walk and optional swim along with optional cliff diving, local delicacies for lunch and after lunch beach swim and snorkel. An icecream on the return drive was an included treat. We all loved discovering these hidden gems and thank Shee for sharing her day full of knowledge and enthusiasm with us.

I wanted to HIGHLY Recommends this amazing excursion. We where on a Royal Caribbean cruise June 2022. Unfortunately, I made an error in my booking. I was beside myself with stress as my family of 5 was so looking forward to this trip. Ashley called me on the cruise ship and made special accommodations for my family to be able to go on the excursion even though it was sold out on the cruise
Hidden Gems was amazing. It took all of 7 hours. Our guide, Harley, was fantastic. He is truly an asset to the company and his guests. We toured the island, explored the jungle , dry caves, wet caves (went swimming in a lake within the cave), cliff jumping, lunch with a scoop of delicious ice cream, then went snorkeling. Everything was provided including hard hat, flashlight, water, umbrella, snorkel gear. bring your swimsuit, a towel and change to dry cloths. Thank you Ashley and Harley- The Milkie Family

How narrow is the cave hike portion? I would love to do this tour but I am slightly claustrophobic so I’d like to know if it’s something I could handle or not.
Written December 18, 2023
Hi! This is an amazing hike, but the cave portion is tight. The entrance to the cave itself is the smallest part. There is room for the group to gather inside, just not much. I’m not sure if there is a side trail where you could skip the cave, but I would hate for you to miss the rest of the incredible experience for the cave portion! Good luck!

Hi. We are coming in On Monday, August 29th at 10am from Naval Dockyard. Does this excursion really leave at 10am sharp? Is booking too much of a risk of being left?

I booked this excursion for the second day of my cruise at 10am and it is 7 hours, which leaves us getting back at 5pm. Our cruise ship leaves at 5:30pm. Will this be an issue?
Written June 1, 2022
Hi,
Did you book this excursion on your own or through your cruise ship? If through the cruise ship it should not be a problem at all.
Written June 2, 2022
Will this excursion be too strenuous for a 65 and 58 year old?
Written March 4, 2022
Probably not: I’m 78 and had no problem but am quite mobile. Main issue is not distance or hills (highest point in Bermuda is only 200+ feet) but ducking overhangs and some slipperiness.
Written March 6, 2022
When I was there first week of May still considered winter and we were able to snorkel, so I would say yes it should still be option

I will be arriving on the Carnival Horizon cruise ship on Sat. June 23rd. We have only one day on the island. Can we still do this tour? Our ship departs at 5 pm from Kings Wharf?
