Angie the tour guide was outstanding and very welcoming. We went with our two kids under 5 and she was able to engage them with the tour and include everyone in the experience. Sealife was excellent with plenty of fish and a few turtles as well. A large part of the tour is taken with the boat transfer but this gives a great perspective of the islands beaches there and back. Overall an absolute must for those wanting to see the amazing Sealife of Aruba but aren't confident to scuba or snorkel.

We chose the half sub because I can get claustrophobic. Even the though the hatch was closed once we boarded it helped knowing I could get out if necessary. The tour was expertly guided and narrated. We were educated on the different types of fish and coral native to these waters. Also we were better able to see the Antilla wreckage than while snorkeling. While short compared with other tour options it was the most informative and probably a better bang for the buck than snorkeling.

This is perfect if there's a possibility you'll get nauseous because you can just go upstairs and chill (as opposed to a fully submerged submarine). Angie was a great tour guide; we saw a lot of fancy fish, turtles, and of course, the shipwreck, which was cool. We did this the day we were leaving, between checking out of our hotel to the time we had to go to the airport- it was the perfect duration.

The tour itself is a very nice concept and the guide was friendly and informative. However, they permitted families to bring toddlers on board and two or three of them seemed to take turns screaming and crying during the entire tour. It was especially bad inside the submarine as the sound was trapped and amplified. I was near the guide and could barley hear her. It ruined my experience and all I wanted to do was have it end so I could get away from the screams. This should definitely be for ages 4 and older.

This is not a mature, colorful reef with dozens of species growing with hundreds of sea-life moving about the coral. The coral is scattered and the reef is very young, lacking the colorful array of species. Our guide explained this to us when we asked "where are the colorful coral?"
What we saw were grey and white features of the ocean bottom with some examples of emerging dark coral. Consequently, without the abundance of coral there were few fish moving throughout. We did spot barracuda, a turtle and a few schools of striped fish occasionally through the tour.
The shipwreck appears simply as broken chunks of metal. Unless you are learned in ship design it is difficult to tell what you are looking at.

Our family of four (2 kids, ages 10 and 8) went on the Semi-Submarine trip. After taking a 13-minute boat transfer to the semi-sub, we were each seated at a window with views underwater. Angie, the guide, was wonderful. She easily navigated between English, Spanish, and Dutch (leaving us to wonder how many other languages she spoke!) She entertained the kids with silly jokes and provided facts about the coral reef and shipwreck.

This is a nice way to see things below the sea without getting wet!

My husband and I , both in our sixties decided to try this excursion on our second trip to Aruba. I am a non swimmer so it had much more appeal to me than most of the other options. The reasonable price and the shorter time line (11:30-1:00) appealed to us as well. We found the information provided by the guide to be fascinating, and although it is difficult to take photos of the reef and the shipwreck through the glass, you do get a clear enough view, especially of the Antilla ship. There were a few very young children on the trip, two who cried most of the time. I believe it would be more appreciated by children over the age of 3 or 4.

My husband and I went on the Semi-Submarine trip when we were in Aruba in December 2019. It was a short, 15 min boat ride to the semi-submarine. Transfer from the boat to the semi-sub was very easy. We all had a window seat and had a great view underwater; we were 5 feet below the surface. We saw a lot of different tropical fish, some “brain” coral and even a turtle. It was really thrilling to see the historic World War II German shipwreck, “The Antilla”.

Our guide, Angie was awesome. She was very informative and entertaining. She was providing details on sea life, history of the sunken boat, but also joked with kids and had friendly conversations with people and constantly smiling, which made people feel even better.

We were really glad we took this excursion and are definitely recommending it to anyone visiting Aruba.

My wife and I did realily enjoy this trip. Our guide in the bottom of semi-sub Angie ( i think that was her name) was realily enjoyable. At least with my wife as she likes to needle me sometimes. it started as we boardrd when I was reminded to "watch me head " that is when Angie help my wife with more infor to needle. It was a very pleasent and enjoyable.
One thing about this type is I have read about semi-sub is people were disappointed with what the saw. This one did take you over a ship wreck and we saw schools of fish, some even came up to window and kissed the glass.
If you do not want to be in a submarine totally under under a 100 feet of water, then this one would be for you. If you want you can go top side.
Angie did say when asked about could we see a shark, she said that in the 15 years she has been working tbetween the 2 ships( semi-sub & submarine) she has never saw a shark.
It was not claustophobia inside the semi.

It was a very pleasant experience. We spotted a few interesting schools of fish and a few turtles. The staff was great. Both captains maneuvered the boats expertly. Angie was a good tour guide. Nice afternoon on and in the water.
