Overview
Denali Outdoor Center is Denali National Park’s paddle rafting specialist! This Nenana River paddle rafting adventure offers hands-on action and is our most popular Alaska whitewater river trip. While some Nenana raft adventure companies will paddle around the big whitewater, with the protection of our “drysuits” and the experience of our guides, Denali Outdoor Center will run more Alaska whitewater and offer a more exciting ride! Our 15ft. Star Inflatables Rafts are smaller boats designed specifically for paddling which makes the Alaska whitewater action bigger and more fun!! Experience the beautiful Nenana River Gorge in Denali National Park, Alaska with all it has to offer.
What to Expect
Your adventure begins at one of two conveniently located offices:  Mile 238.9 Parks Highway in Denali Park or Mile 1/2 Otto Lake Road in Healy. You will check in with our friendly office staff who will have you sign our Acknowledgement of Risk form.  The next step involves getting into one of our custom made drysuits.  These drysuits have a latex neck, latex wrists and waterproof zipper to ensure maximum protection from the glacial water.  These drysuits do no insulate you, so we require that you dress in warm, long sleeved layers and warm socks underneath the drysuit for comfort and hygiene.  Once outfitted, you will be taken to the river by van or bus, where you will receive a safety talk from the trip leader.

During this 2 Hour whitewater adventure expect to encounter over 10 major Class III to IV rapids in the Nenana River Canyon! The Denali National Park frontier will be the setting on your river left shore with Mt. Healy rising over 3,000 feet to the summit. Exciting wave-trains and powerful hydraulics will create rapids like “Razorback,” “Iceworm,” “Cable Car,” “Royal Flush,” and “Coffee Grinder!”

Fun for all ages

We had 8 adults ranging in age from 60 to 25, but the paddle run down the canyon satisfied everyone. The water was a bit lower than normal as it is this time of year, so that kept things a little tamer. Our guide Al,...More

Our family stayed at Otto Lake Cabin #4 for 2 nights while we visited Denali National Park. We also had a rafting adventure with Jason as our guide. We all enjoyed our time on the water. As for the cabin, there's a main cabin (very...More
